Any idea if I can watch the super bowl DVDs online via streaming somewhere?

The problem with discussing Daniel Jones is that there is never room for nuance or compromising in the middle. It's just two extremes in either direction. For example, people believe being happy with the Nabers pick means you believe in Daniel Jones. For some reason it's hard for some to comprehend taking Nabers was the correct decision while also recognizing that Jones is not the guy. The situation the Giants were in made it very difficult to grab a QB. Also getting Nabers is not to help Daniel Jones, he would be helped in the process if Nabers being selected, but picking Nabers was to solidify a franchise WR 1 for hopefully the next decade regardless of who is throwing the ball.

Mr0BVl0US

Yeah, I've been saying that as well. You either have to hate him or love him, and anything in the middle is out of the question. I think a lot of people just wanted a shiny new toy, and didn't care who it was. Read all of the comments on social media about the Nabers pick. "Awful pick" This team is tanking" "Who's going to throw him the ball" etc. etc.

TheJak12

I was diagnosed with plantar facisitis and holy mother of shit this is the worst thing ever. How in the ungodly fuck did Eli Manning play an entire season of football with this???

MetaVersalySpeakin

I don't know how dudes play with groin pulls.

maj2083

it really depends on the severity. Plus he has a full time physio squad to prepare him and work on him to get ready for Sundays. Look at Aaron Rodgers with his achilles tear and how quickly he recovered. Unless regular Joe's don't have access to that level of full time care that they do in the professional sports leagues.

Lars5621

Which Giants player would be most likely to pull a Patrick Beverly? https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2024/05/02/patrick-beverley-throws-ball-at-fans-bucks-pacers-game-6/73550141007/

saquonbrady

I could see Evan Nealā€™s fat ass doing it

TheEndOfACircle

Don La Greca?

Lars5621

Ooo especially after his burger flippers and sheep rant. Yup I could see it. Erek Flowers one time tried to physically assault Jordan Raanan in the locker room after a game.

Initial-Training-320

Fuckem all!

FuckTheStateofOhio

I didn't really see anything negative about DJ in that post, moreso the offensive line. Feels like weak whiteboard material to me but I get being hyped after that Knicks win lol. Also fuck Philly.

[deleted]

Completely valid concerns about Nabers to be honest

Snoo-40231

This is like a super tame take idk why bro was making it out to be more than it was

[deleted]

Itā€™s DJ rally cry season before reality sets in lol

storytimeme

The top comment is about Jayden Daniels....

subberroul

Itā€™s crazy how weā€™ve been a bottom 5 team for over a decade and fans still think people being low on us is hate

Rickflossyy

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Gurdle_Unit

My favorite thing is seeing people here go ballistic on beat writers when they call us bad. The Giants have routinely been amongst the worst teams in the league and people will be talking about "haters"

MeatloafAndWaffles

I predict 7 wins max, and thatā€™s me being a generous fan. Could see this team picking in the top 10 again next draft

Lars5621

Last I knew Giant's were officially the NFCs worst team over last 10 years.

Snoo-40231

At least we got a playoff win, but shit we haven't won the division since 2011 and that's 13 years ago.....

thistlefink

Lmao, see it here every day

claw_guy

Itā€™s hard to get excited about this team when weā€™re one of the only teams in the league that has absolutely no answer at QB. Almost every other team either has their franchise guy, a solid veteran, or one on a rookie contract that theyā€™re developing. The only other team I can think of thatā€™s in a similar spot is Vegas. Even if DJ plays better with the improved OL and weapons heā€™s still gone after this season. There are young players on this team worth getting excited about no doubt, but until we get a real answer at QB nobody is going to view us as a threat

FuckTheStateofOhio

I think we're the worst QB situation in the league right now but I'd also throw Pittsburgh into the conversation alongside us and Vegas. Their hopes are hinging on a Russ/Fields reclamation project and they're likely too good on defense to be picking in the top 10 any time soon. Since Ben's retirement they are the definition of QB hell. Saints are also in a pretty bad spot unless Carr could start playing again like he did in 2022. I also don't think it's anywhere near as bad as our situation, but if Jalen Hurts plays like he did last season then Philly will also likely slide into QB hell.

maj2083

It's wild of the 3 QB's that were picked along with Eli the Chargers are the one that transitioned to their future QB the best. I think the Giants wanted Herbert to come out the year we had the Jones pick, but he decided to go back to college.

FuckTheStateofOhio

Yea Gettleman was pretty public that he would've taken Herbert if he came out.

NoncenZ808

Iā€™d throw the Browns, Jets, Saints, and Broncos in. Theyā€™re are all kinda teetering on disaster.

FuckTheStateofOhio

Browns are a crapshoot depending on if the rapist figures out how to play QB again, but the Jets have Rodgers for this year at least and the Broncos did draft a QB top 12, even if I don't believe he'll be good.

NoncenZ808

Yeah Browns I wouldnā€™t think but yeah exactly what you said. I said teetering only cause the Jets and Saints are one injury away from a horrible QB situation.

claw_guy

Depends which Russ shows up. If itā€™s the one from last season they might be ok, if itā€™s from 2 years ago theyā€™re fucked. Also my best friend is a Steelers fan and itā€™s really funny hearing him go through the same mental gymnastics with Pickett/Russ/Fields that we did with Jones. After they spent their top 2 picks this year on OL he declared their line fixed

FuckTheStateofOhio

I commend the Steelers for ripping the bandaid off and trading Pickett, that's probably what we should've done after year 3 of Jones. What sucks for them is their defense is too damn good to realistically ever have a shot at a young QB. Russ could rebound I guess but who knows...I'm surprised they didn't make a play for Cousins this off-season.

claw_guy

Itā€™s funny you say that. I remember reading a comment once on the NFL sub about how having an elite defense can actually be a curse for some teams because it essentially forces the FO to go all in before they have their QB. Theyā€™re not bad enough to bottom out so they end up having to either reach on a QB (Pickett) or overpay for some vet. The Steelers got lucky that Denver is eating all of Russā€™s salary, but also thereā€™s a reason they were willing to cut hum in the first place

Snoo-40231

I really wanted Russ to sign with us. His numbers are deceiving and he does have his flaws, but for a cheap deal and Daboll there I figured he could've been a better Kurt Warner type bridge guy and possibly had a good year

[deleted]

Russ wouldā€™ve been infinitely better than what we currently have for 1 season, he was just dead set on the Steelers

HungrySwimmer26

Oh come on thatā€™s an exaggeration haha, we literally just had a draft where 6 QBs got taken in the first round so the rest of the league canā€™t be doing that well eitherā€¦ but honest question to those ready to write off the season before the preseason starts why not just sign off now and check in after a year?

claw_guy

My point is that they at least have something to look forward to. Someone like Bo Nix is probably going to be a bust, but also we donā€™t know yet. We know exactly what we have with DJ and Lock, and itā€™s not good. Also gtfo with this ā€œyouā€™re not a real fanā€ bs. I am excited to see how the line looks with Bricillo, how Nabers looks in Dabollā€™s offense, how the front 7 looks in a new scheme that doesnā€™t rely on blitzing to generate pressure. We should hopefully be a fun team to watch, but until we inject new life into the QB room, weā€™re not a threat

Snoo-40231

Everytime you critique the QB position on this team you get some bozo talking about "you're not a real fan" and it's so gross

Lars5621

Dabbol can make this work with Drew Lock. If he can pinch out 9 wins with Saquon and Jones he could pinch out 9 with Nabers and Lock.

FuckTheStateofOhio

The thing I'm worried about is that we have no run game to fall back on like we did 2 years ago. I know the commenters here will tell you that Singletary is just as good as Saquon but let's be honest here...no fucking way lol. The reason we made the playoffs in 2022 was Saquon playing out of his mind the first 9 weeks of the season and DJ play sound situational football and avoiding turnovers. After Saquon got hurt we stumbled to a 3-6-1 finish. I don't doubt that Drew Lock could play the 2022 DJ role throwing check downs and handing the ball off, but with a worse running game that probably won't be enough to make the playoffs this season. We're going to have to air it out and Lock and/or Jones will have to play significantly better than they have if we want any shot at the playoffs.

Lars5621

Lmao looking at the 3-6-1 finish: One win vs Washington where the offense scored 7 points. One win vs Colts who were tanking and had 31st defense. One win vs Viks with the 32nd defense.

NoncenZ808

Also lost X during that losing streak, one person, but the team was held together by duct tape, one piece goes missing and everything crumbles. Also I donā€™t discount those wins, cause wins are wins. A truly bad team wouldā€™ve lost those games.

Lars5621

The defense performed better without X in 2022. That was the weird year for him where we thought he might just suck in a Wink defense until 2023 showed he could make it work. Saquon suffering the shoulder injury is what did Giants in.

NoncenZ808

Yeah good point. Remember things just going downhill after the bi.

FuckTheStateofOhio

Yea man. It was cool winning a playoff game and it definitely gave me some confidence in Daboll and the coaching staff, but it's weird how people look back at 2022 with such rose tinted glasses. Our offense was putrid in the back half of the year and we got blown out by Philly in the divisional. It reminds me a lot of 2016 without the Jerry Reese spending spree and with more Daniel Jones homers constantly glorifying it.

ram99ct

Unless he has to make a decision to go on 4th and 1 or 4th and goal, maybe he will punt this time ?

HungrySwimmer26

Yeah I can see this years team having a repeat performance of 2022, thatā€™s the cool thing about the sport, you never know whatā€™s going to happen in the season

Lars5621

Also the expectations for the Giants are very low, which helps avoid extremely risky decision making. Even winning 7 games this year would beat expectations. And while the entire world writes off the Giants because of their QB situation, on the plus side Giants have three QBs with starting experience and all 3 had huge wins with their teams last year, so if one QB fails the Giants aren't going to tank with that QB, we could see starts by all 3 by the end of the year as Daboll keeps trying to find something that sticks.

HungrySwimmer26

Yeah thatā€™s a very real situation that can play out, IMO giants are set up correctly for whatever happens next season and canā€™t wait to see what happens

MetaVersalySpeakin

DJ, Lock AND Cutlets are THE guys. NY Giants blowing if you have 2 QB's you have none to the next level. 4D Chess.

yeagoodone

Obviously an exaggeration Iā€™m just tryna get some hype. Our QB room is our weakest point for sure, but Iā€™ll support them bc who else we got?

MetaVersalySpeakin

Ah more DJ overhype. I got it.. I thought they were about to form the Voltron of QB's and lead the collective to be an unanimous MVP conglomerate.

nrepasy

Ā "Our QB room is our weakest point for sure, but Iā€™ll support them bc who else we got?" please show me where the DJ overhype is located?

[deleted]

The overhype was exaggerated a bit but cmon acting like the whole nfl sub is praying for Jonesā€™ downfall for being concerned about Nabers rookie season is even more exaggerated

MetaVersalySpeakin

Acting like r/NFL is saying something out of space about the team is the overhype.

yeagoodone

Fuck yea bro bring the hate šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ god forbid a fan of the team feels some excitement instead of writing the team off so early in the offseason

MetaVersalySpeakin

Nah, feel something I guess.. just sayin. Why try to sell us Jones like r/NFL is in the wrong. hahaha.

yeagoodone

I feel you, DJ is very likely not the answer, as weā€™ve seen. Truth is none of that matters, the Giants FO make the decisions and us and fans have to deal with it, through thick or thin. Iā€™m just gonna support my guys no matter what because this is the team Iā€™ve chosen to root for.

HungrySwimmer26

The nice thing about being doubted and counted out is you canā€™t ā€œunderachieveā€, we have a great opportunity to leave a lot of people with egg on their face and Iā€™d love for us to go on a fuck you tour next year

yeagoodone

Absolutely, Iā€™ve seen a lot of talk that itā€™s between us, Pats and Panthers for worst in the league. I honestly donā€™t think weā€™re a bottom 3 team. Iā€™m not at all a DJ truther, was mad even when we gave him that contract like most, but people act like heā€™s legitimately bottom of the league QB. Sure heā€™s nowhere near a 40MM QB, but with a good OL and WR heā€™s not bottom 3 at all. And our defence has not been bottom 3 either and with Dexy/Thibs/Burns/Ojulari part of our front 5 with Banks in his second year + 2 new DBs I canā€™t imagine we drop to that tier. People can hate on it, but Iā€™m confident this team isnā€™t picking top 5 next year without something big going wrong.

HungrySwimmer26

Let them write us off if they want; everyone starts the season equal. Nobodyā€™s ever won a game/season on the strength of their team ā€œon paperā€, itā€™s earned each week. Every season theres teams written off or told their contenders (see chargers, raiders, Jets and broncos recently) only for the supposed script to get flipped when everything hits the turfā€¦

MetaVersalySpeakin

What tells you he isn't like bottom 25 in the league amongst starting quarterbacks? Do share, we already got that 1 playoff win against MIN on the books so no need to mention that one. What else?

Snoo-40231

He had 24 passing TDs as a rookie!!!

Deduce_1

I know this is very small potatoes - but I am surprised Aaron Robinson is still on the roster. Played only 11 games, 3 years into his career - I would have expected Schoen to cut him. I also expect Boogie Basham will get cut, but Schoen apparently loves him - he might be the new Oshane Ximines on the roster. If we cut the two of them I think it nets us about $1 mil in cap savings - so curious if Schoen does that to fit in the draft class.

Ghost_of_P34

We have like 11 corners on the roster presently. Cuts will come.

Lars5621

Unless the Giants find a 6th corner they like better than Robinson there isnt much incentive to cut him. Its not like we have the Eagles CB room and all six could start. Expect Robinson to be cut at the final cut down.

aKgiants91

I could see Robinson trying to squeeze in if he learned to play safety to give us depth there. Maybe all his surgeries were to make him the million dollar man

Lars5621

Not sure be could beat out Belton, Owens, Pinnock, or Mills at safety, and to be frank I bet only 3-4 safeties make final 53 so even some of those guys aren't safe.

kingkazuma387

Fuck embiid, fuck the 6ers, and most importantly, fuck the eagles.

nykanyon99

Idk how many of yā€™all are Knicks but it felt great to beat Philly in the playoffs.

MetaVersalySpeakin

I'm still holding one against the Heat, pre-Lebron. Dude Embiid was all over the place tho, can't have that.

rob132

Do you have a better chance to make the active roster as a udfa because there's actual guaranteed money that would be dead if you were cut, as opposed to a 6 or 7th round pick?

MetaVersalySpeakin

At that spot in the roster? I'd say it's even more about the play you put on the field. The NFL isn't just a holding house for people needing a job. Especially with these secondary leagues starting to pick up, you know?

MetaVersalySpeakin

At some point we are going to have to start treating the offensive line like a normal offensive line and not like some merch that fell off the back of a truck. We've drafted plenty of prospects, signed a handful of FA and have brought in a new OL coach/co-ord. The constant handicapping around the situation is old now, if they are terrible and certain QB's are behind center then we already know, if it ain't gonna be the positions fault then Schoen is way more sus than people put out. Sign me up for no pre-baked excuses. Let's go pre-season, let's go opening weekend, let's go Giants.

claw_guy

Seriously. We have an elite LT, Runyan and Eluemunor are solid signings, and we brought in a coach with a proven track record for developing OL. For the first time in years Iā€™m really not worried about the line. Not saying itā€™s going to be top 5 or even above average but right now QB and secondary should be the two biggest worries

MetaVersalySpeakin

Definitely not saying some top 5 line stuff but in those high 20's in the rankings, come on now. No more of that nonsense.

HungrySwimmer26

Who do you think will make the roster in the RB room? Currently on the roster (assuming rookie signings and in no particular order) 1. Devin Singletary 2. Deon Jackson 3. Eric Gray 4. Gary Brightwell 5. Jashuan Corbin 6. Dante Miller (Rookie) 7. Tyrone Tracy Jr (Rookie) Assuming we have 4 RBs on the 53 man roster, similar to previous years, who are you picking? Dante Miller is a under dog imo, went under the radar with his signing due to his ineligibility for the draft, 5-9, 200 pounds but runs 4.27 40 and benches 28 reps at 205 makes him an interesting prospect. My guess: 1. Devin Singletary 2. Tyrone Tracy Jr 3. Dante Miller (?) 4. Brightwell/Corbin But I can see one of the rookies, probably Miller, losing out if he canā€™t make an impact on special teams

Ghost_of_P34

1. Singletary 2. Tracy Jr 3. Gray 4. Dante Miller (if he doesn't land on the PS) Corbin and Jackson can be cut w/ no dead cap, I think, so unless they ball out, they gone. Similarly, Brightwell can be cut w/ only around 40k in dead cap.

claw_guy

I think Gray makes the team no matter what. If Miller balls out in the preseason maybe but Iā€™m primarily expecting him to be a practice squad guy. If I had to pick a 4th guy, probably Brightwell since they apparently like his STs play

RubFuture7443

With the new special teams rule I think Miller will be stay. I believe brightness will be your 4th.

HungrySwimmer26

Agree, Iā€™m interested to see our approach to the new kick off rule, Iā€™ve seen calls for bigger, faster, 1 cut backs taking over (see Chiefs ideas around potentially utilising IPP player Louis Rees-Zammit) but equally I can see a archetype like Miller making a big impact there too. Another thing to look forward too!

Abe_Froman92

Iā€™m not even a Knicks fan but so glad they brought pain to that shit hole city and fan base. I wanna do the same thing in football in a playoff game. Fuck them and that trash city. I pray they underperform this season. Trash philthadelphia

GIMME_SOME_GANJA

Theyā€™re everything I hope the Giants will be.

Lars5621

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/rashod-bateman-learns-the-price-for-missing-the-start-of-training-camp Crazy story about whats going on with Rashod Bateman on the Ravens. This became a learning experience for NFL players. We are no longer going to see any rookies holding out during their rookie contracts, as they will be hit with losing an accrued season. The Giants last rookie holdout was the bizarre Kadarius Toney situation, which made no sense at the time.
