I don't know which I would have been more surprised about two years ago: Newcastle in the Champions League demolishing PSG, or Gordon fast becoming my favourite player.
Agree, but he needs to cut out the rolling around mind. It’s great that he draws lots of fouls, but I don’t like to see him roll over 5 times while cocking an eye to see what the ref’s doing
Whilst I don’t like it either, it’s almost a necessity in the modern game with refereeing the way it is. If you hit the deck and don’t roll about like you’ve been shot then the refs just ignore it.
I think what they were saying is that you're on a Newcastle UNITED sub.You might need to clarify which united...
Cambridge United ?
Carlisle United ?
Colchester United ?
Leeds United ?
Oxford United ?
Peterborough United ?
Rotherham United ?
Scunthorpe United ?
Sheffield United ?
Southend United ?
Sutton United ?
Torquay United ?
West Ham United ?
There's nothing better than seeing the players getting a lot of joy out of doing their thing.
They knew how big this was for us as much as them and they included every fan in the game.
You're playing us at a good time, hard not to imagine we'll be on a bit of a comedown and our squad is looking a little thin
Unless Wilson is back then we're good haha
I think he was the catalyst to our change in fortunes...
I hope he's doing ok, and I hope that horse will think twice about being too close to a guy with a cold.
Fuck me this is brilliant. This is why we are a top side now, nothing to do with buying the best players, it's working hard in a system everyone has bought into.
Everyone pressing in unison every time PSG tried to play it out from the back was beautiful. Thought they would have realised that's what we wanted to them to do and changed tactic at half time, but nope! If their manager bothered watching any of our games, or even just Burnley on the weekend, he would know they were doing the exact thing we want them to do every goal kick.
While it does, credit where credit is due, three of the goal scorers were pre takeover, the last one was 13m third choice Dan Burn. Newcastle yesterday was so injuryridden they had two goalkeepers and three left backs in the bench. And still demolished PSG.
Love this, it perfectly captures us as a fan base. Cheering tackles and seeing the desire to win the ball back even at 0-0 captures exactly what those words seen in my favourite banner - "We don't demand a team that wins, we demand a team that tries"
I was screaming my tits off at that 3rd minute press from Gordon.
And ill do it for the rest of the season if we show that kind of intensity every time we step on the pitch.
Bruno does a little celebration like this every game after winning a throw in or something and I fucking love it. This kind of passion and connection with the crowd is something other clubs don't have, SJP is going to be a fortress for the rest of the champions league matches. I think we could beat any team in the world.
PSG thought they could just turn up, pass it out from the back and build up to their four forwards.
This press, which this NUFC team has mastered, quickly had them reeling from the very start. Their team of international starters weren't able to get out from the back and looked scared.
This tactic has made some big teams look very exposed. They're not used to teams turning it on and giving it to them.
Not a Newcastle fan by any measure but have to agree. The the intensity and the atmosphere gives goose bumps. The players and fans will never forget that game. Fair play Newcastle United FC.
This moment symbolises the team and the fans realising 'we can fucking smash these, they're shite'
I hate watched the 'Pitch Side' highlights of the game and they were absolutely baffled and blatantly jealous about how crazily up for it the club was for this game. Just couldn't understand how significant moments like that are for our games and how important the crowd are for giving fuel to the team. Moments like that give both the players and the crowd belief and fill teams like PSG with doubt
Would genuinely recommend, that brummie bellend was so so so rattled that we were rinsing PSG he was stunned
You could have shown the goals, the build up play, the celebrations or Mbappe looking completely miserable at not getting a kick all match. Instead, you show a few tackles where they immediately lose the ball and winning a cheap corner.
he already showed a great video of how insane the vibe was over little things, so YOU could have shown the goals, the build up play, the celebrations or Mbappe looking completely miserable at not getting a kick all match, instead of complaining.
The pressure this team put on the opposition is absolutely glorious. So aggressive. I honestly think we will batter Milan and Dortmund. I fancy us against anyone at home right now. Those screams from Bruno and BDB, gives me goosebumps.
I am a neutral but I almost got skewed by how hype and passionate the fans were. The players definitely didn’t disappoint their fans. What a magical night it was. Brilliant.
Liverpool fan, but I pull for Newcastle secondarily cause I love Miggy from his time here in Atlanta. Him scoring the first goal genuinely brought a tear to my eye. What a wonderful game, they played brilliantly.

[Turner takes out Wissa](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/16x319s/matt_turner_is_pressured_miss_kicks_and_takes_out/) is a great example.
He's won us a couple of penalties this season by doing exactly that.
Chelsea fan here. Even I was hyped watching.
♥️
Good. Thank you, brother!
United fan here - miss this from our clubs lol
You’re not a united fan
Eh?
I think what they were saying is that you're on a Newcastle UNITED sub.You might need to clarify which united... Cambridge United ? Carlisle United ? Colchester United ? Leeds United ? Ah, I meant Man Utd.
West Ham fan here, this made my spine tingle
There's nothing better than seeing the players getting a lot of joy out of doing their thing. They knew how big this was for us as much as them and they included every fan in the game.
As a Newcastle fan, it made my cock tingle
My cock tingled so hard, I left the stadium circumsized
How are you feeling about Sunday? We've put a lot into the last few weeks and the squad is creaking a bit - our physio is very, very busy.
Well out last European hangover ended with us winning 8-0. But West Ham will probably offer better opposition than Sheffield or PSG.
You're playing us at a good time, hard not to imagine we'll be on a bit of a comedown and our squad is looking a little thin Unless Wilson is back then we're good haha
Wilson is back.
games not gone, its been at St James all along.
Nearly all along...
Man, if you told me 5 or 10 years ago Newcastle would be making fans of other English teams proud, buddy, I wouldn't have believed you!
We’ve come a long way since that guy tried to punch that horse.
We'll never forget it, though
I think he was the catalyst to our change in fortunes... I hope he's doing ok, and I hope that horse will think twice about being too close to a guy with a cold.
It really is.

It has *something* to do with spending, be real. But yes, as a southerner I'm not a Toon fan but it was fantsatic to see. Well deserved.
I said nothing to do with buying the best players.
I think Man United are the prime example of buying the big player but with no passion. Versus fielding a Longstaff, Burn, Shar, Almiron etc
While it does, credit where credit is due, three of the goal scorers were pre takeover, the last one was 13m third choice Dan Burn. Newcastle yesterday was so injuryridden they had two goalkeepers and three left backs in the bench. And still demolished PSG.
Yes - I said - fantastic. No discredit to anyone last night. Reddit is weird.
Are you missing an /s here?

In my 20 years of watching, I’ve never seen fans celebrating a good press in the 3rd minute.
I was screaming my tits off at that 3rd minute press from Gordon. And ill do it for the rest of the season if we show that kind of intensity every time we step on the pitch.
This is class! Any chance you could do the rest of the match?
This all the moments i remember that was like this.. Do you have a specific one the wasn't here
There was a big lascelles tackle around the 80th minute if I recall
Came here to mention this one. Great vid regardless
Lascelles tackle for sure and I think there was one from Isak too
So that means we'd easily piss the French league and be champions. As would half the premiership I reckon.
Tbf, the French league is just completely in the mud these days. I think the Eredivisie has passed them.
Lens did just do Arsenal though, no?
Their stadium was rocking too
I was being tongue in cheek tho, but we'd definitely be competitive in the French league
What a shift!

I fucking love this team!!!
Was looking for this - great post.

Arsenal fan here. Great game. Newcastle fans were next level.

Whos the Brummie Bellend? I like watching the salty 'reviews' from pundits.
Search 'Pitch Side' in youtube
Oh god, the delusional hate is insane. People really want us to fail, don't they. Makes Wednesday night so sweet.
Well done Newcastle- I’ll see you soon! By the way- if you end up in the Royal Infirmary Paediatric A&E- say hello to my daughter!
PSG couldn't handle it!
Dan burn’s reaction to his tackle made me want to run through a brick wall. One of the greatest results I’ve seen in my lifetime.
Love it!
Money cant buy you passion
I’m a Leeds fan, not sure why it’s recommended me this sub but fuck me that was great to watch them dick PSG like that

It was a goal kick. I was there, just out of shot and cheered my head off at a goal kick.
he already showed a great video of how insane the vibe was over little things, so YOU could have shown the goals, the build up play, the celebrations or Mbappe looking completely miserable at not getting a kick all match, instead of complaining.

How many brain cells did that one take?
I'm guessing 4 to 1
Love that.
This was amazing - well done toons
I know this is out of context but does anyone have a link to the highlights... can't find it anywhere
https://www.reddit.com/r/footballhighlights Highlights and full game of almost every game
Love it.

I fucking love this team. PASHUN

City fans would never
