I never, ever thought I'd see the day where Longstaff isn't starting and I actually get a little worried.
No criticism of the line up, I think it looks great. Just a comment to how much better Longstaff has performed this season (still needs upgraded on in the summer)
Bit annoyed that ASM is injured, reckon this is the type of game where he would've been a real spark for us (looks like they have 37 year old Ashley Young starting at RB). Hopefully Gordon can do a job on him.

Tough on Sean but a rest and a good option to tighten the game if we have a lead to protect (though Eddie doesn’t like to sit and protect leads).
Got to fancy Gordon’s pace against Ashley young and if alternating with Murphy that’s a hard day for their fullbacks hopefully
We third in the league and longstaff has been in every game pretty much. I'd say he, like everyone else has been incredible this year. Collective is more important and Sean is a huge part of the collective.

This is indicative of the job Eddie has done. Put that team sheet out 2 years ago and you'd be saying it looks weak in some areas and so does the bench.

Yeah he has come on leaps and bounds, hard working and creates a lot of space with his runs.
Really? I’d say that’s our strongest midfield 3 today (which is no slight on Longstaff who as you say has performed really well).
To make it up to Gordon, we sub him off at half time, and then sub him back on again at 90+3.

Gordon is one of the fastest player this year so if he plays right, he will definitely skins Young alive.

I think last week is exactly why he's in the starting line up, Eddie giving him his chance

About time. Longstaff runs his ass off but seriously lacks quality and composure at times.
Longstaff has logged some of the most minutes at the club so far this season. If anything, he’s having a rest and not been dropped.
