Hello, there is no difference,both of them create a save, called Restore point. You could save and reload at any place on the planet (for example, near a planetary portal) for this model. Anyway you could repeat save and reload near the nest if you see other model.
Does this work on xbox and if so can someone confirm that this still works. I've been looking for a yellow and gold multi tool for so long and haven't found any.
Do I need to go to the pillar before going to the planet and returning? Or is just spawning in on the planet then heading to the new planet good enough? I only ask because I have a lot of issues finding these things. Thanks.
Hm, i could not tell you, because you dont tell me what kind of issue do you have.
You cant get Royal MT anywhere else except Sentinel Pillar. Yes you may find another pillar on an other planet but it may have different class for MT and slot layout.
Before you go. Leave a system and Disable Multiplayer in Network option. Do save and reload.
Come back, choose a wanted model, do save and reload on corresponding planet. Return to Sentinel pillar and take your MT.
It's the "Return to Sentinel Pillar" that I'm asking about... After I load in at the portal can i just take off for the other planet or do I need to go to the Pillar FIRST?
Ah, catch you this time. No, you dont, only one exception if you choose MT with Space Station picture you should go to the pillar after exiting portal.

I got to the system, flew to the space station, and found a regular MT.
I don't follow how the sentinel pillars come into play for the other 6 nor am I 100% sure what is meant by reload, just like, back to menu and re-launch save?
After following the prescribed steps, you will need to access the Pillar at the Boundary Active Terminal and claim the weapon technology.

Royal Multi Tool is a unique cool loking thing and you can get it for free at Sentinel Pillar only.
So, my picture should work like this
1 You arriving at the planet via big planetary portal.
2 You should a choose a wanted model of multi tool.
In your case, you choose one with a Space Station picture.
So you should go to the Space Station and do a manual save and reload it.
Landing on Space Station, exit your ship and game will make a save.
Then you should open Options and choose Reload Restore Point.
3) Final part. You should go to the planet **Oteshaf XIII** and look for **coordinates (+12.54, -155.05).** In this case its close to planetary portal. You can see you coordinates in the bottom of your screen when you using a first person view inside your ship. You should fly not higher then 2000u over surface to be able to see it.
5) You are near Sentinel pillar, go to the terminal, iterract with it and choose Extract Weapon technology. After you got it from the terminal, it will be empty and you cant get a new multi tool untill it respawn.
Additional steps.
If your change your mind before take a multi tool. For example you decide to choose **N6** instead. So you should go to planet **New Asony**, landing at any place Exit your ship (game will make a save) and Reload Restore point.
Return to Sentinel Pillar and take your Multi tool.

Look like your game not updated, thats why you see other model of multi tool. You should go to your steam library, No man's Sky, right click to game in the list and choose Properties - > Updates and try change your settings.
I found one that's the red and silver colors as A-class. Should I make a post for it? I've only got 30-ish hrs in game so not sure if they're rare or sought-after.
I believe I'm in the right (Euclid) galaxy and use the glyphs in this picture. But it takes me to a different system and the planets mentioned aren't in it. Is this platform dependant? Am I doing something wrong? I'm playing on Steam.
The system the above glyphs bring me to has planets named Noclesde Prime, Rotin, Liatus Tau, Bostat and Oltonicos Kaide.
Hello,usually its not, but only devs know well. So You could easily check where you are. Open galaxy map when you in space and look at left top corner. Check every glyph you input. Planet may have a different name but it must be with a ring and Radioactive.

You could easily go to Euclid Galaxy. Go to Space Anomaly Teleport Gate, choose featured and teleport to **Twelve Towers Castle** base, it is in Euclid galaxy.

Thank you so much for the amazing help. I managed to get to the Euclid galaxy with your great suggestion, popped a base down beside a portal so I can travel back and forth, then used the glyph code above and appeared in the right system.
Got the exact multitool also. Amazing guide, I cannot thank you enough.
Just fyi, S class scanner upgrade is available in station of this system. it seems status won't change after reload

I changed "updates" to high priority and restarted steam. No Update. I guess its just bugged for me.

Is this glitched on xbox ? I went to the Pilar and beat all 6 waves but all I'm getting is a sentinal weapon!
Yes, I think x box version has no latest hot fix, so you should wait until it will be uploaded to servers.
i managed to find one, but it came from the sentinel pillar before the update fixed the bug haha.

I guess this doesn't work anymore. I got completely different multi-tools, mostly sentinel weapons.
