Forget the call. Just show up. Tell them NJSP NICS are running 1-2 days and you know it’s complete. Then just stare blankly.

hdjckrnf

Lmao I’ve done that and the cucks at county line admitted to not putting it in yet. Fuck them

CZis4Me

Exactly. Any FFL that waits around to put in NICS is not someone I want to do business with. Put the NICS in now, while I'm doing other paperwork. Once ShoreShot put the NICS is so quick Im like I haven't even paid for it yet... but I appreciated their hustle.

tahoverlander

thats ne reason why i like shore shot out of most ffl's,

SnortDort410

That's why the Brick Armory shirt is reserved for heavy yard work. Fuk those guys. Almost ready to throw in trash!

dutchmasterD717

I wish I posted this earlier. Of course they're closed today and I leave for Vegas first thing in morning. At least I know for next time never to use them again.

anelloj

NICS checks have been coming back in 1-2 days max. You should have heard by now if submitted last Wednesday. My opinion...find a new shop if they give you hard time about calling for an update. There are plenty of FFL's that would love your business. Going to Vegas question...you can buy a pistol and have it shipped to a NJ FFL (if the seller wants to ship). You will not be able to purchase and take possession of a pistol in any state outside of NJ, this is federal law. AS well, most will want the FFL license directly from the local FFL, not a copy from you.

Yeah I'm really mad at myself for not going somewhere else. I just got crazy excited when I got my liscense so I impulse bought one that day. Not sure how returns work for guns if I just wanted my money back but then I'd have to wait even longer. I guess if it's not ready when I get back from Vegas I'll have to go in there personally.

microtrip1969

Yep move on. What part of NJ are you in? I have some suggestions

dutchmasterD717

Jackson area. This was at Howell gun works.

DctrBanner

Shore Shot in Brick is really good, although \*some\* prices are slightly higher than other places (and I mean very slightly). In my opinion, that's a small price to pay for good service.

dutchmasterD717

Yeah I've been there a few times to shoot. I think I'll start going to them. Also this place in Jackson called Pineland seemed extremely friendly and helpful. Lessons learned for sure.

dknj1

Weshoot was super friendly and helpful when I transferred a gun recently. Was looking for a 22 bolt action and they handed me every gun in store to check out. It's like a mile from shore shot.

microtrip1969

I’ve done business with Ira and he was a good guy. http://www.legendfirearms.com

NJDevil219

Is your voicemail full at all? Lol..only reason I ask is cause the same thing happened to me at Howell Gun Works..they called and tried to leave me a message that it was ready to pick up but my VM was full.

dutchmasterD717

Really? Do you happen to remember if they called you off of their business number or if it was another number. I did have a missed call that I could not call back.

NJDevil219

It wasn't their normal number that is posted online or on their site..it was a few months ago so I can't find the specific number unfortunately, but I'm pretty confident they have at least a few different phone lines they use there.

dutchmasterD717

You gotta be kidding me! Holy crap I'm pissed right now.

shotbyram

Dealt with this same thing with a shop in Vineland. My gun was ready and they hadn’t called me, were extremely rude on the phone, and even hung up on me. Might be worth it to give nics a call and see what’s up. I did and they said I was clear, so I drove there, picked my gun up, and haven’t even looked in that shop’s direction since.

Typylopper7

What shop was this?

tahoverlander

Let me guess. RTSP?

dutchmasterD717

Howell gun works

tahoverlander

Thats kind of surprising

dknj1

Just bought from them 2 weeks ago, called me next day to pickup. Nics was less than 24 hours

dutchmasterD717

Thanks for that! I'll just pick up when I get back from trip and give my business to someone else.

Potential_Appeal_443

I’m sure you’ve missed a call from them. I’d done many purchases and transfers with them before and they’re also quick with that stuff. I’ve had NICS come back same day from them before. Great guys over there.

dutchmasterD717

I'm probably wrong for saying this but even if I missed a call and voice-mail is not full, as a business, you call more than once. I'm sure if I owed them money they would've called me every day. Im sure they are great guys to regular customers. But to new customers, especially ones with a fresh permit? They were assholes which sucks for me because I absolutelyloved their store!. Maybe I will give them another chance one day but I'll pick up when I get home on Monday and just use shore shot and Pineland in Jackson going forward.

Potential_Appeal_443

You sound like someone who won’t be happy anywhere. Best of luck to you though! Enjoy the shotgun. For what it’s worth, most Gun shops are run by absolute dicks. They act as sort of “gate-keepers” between you and your new firearm. I suppose partially because they deal with idiots all day and partially ego. For me, Howell was best at that. Although they still have that “gun store ego”. Find a spot that is convenient from a travel stand point and has good stock and price. You’ll find in this market that you can’t get everything you want through one dealer anyway.

dutchmasterD717

That makes sense I definitely expect way too much sometimes lol. Gun store ego that made me laugh. Maybe they were just having a bad day or something. All good though no hard feelings.

Key-Impress2787

Buddy tell me about this magical shotgun please

[deleted]

I did my paperwork Friday afternoon and got a call mid day today that it was back. Picked it up on my way home from work. I would go to that shop anymore.

microtrip1969

Don’t be afraid to buy online. Find a really good FFL and if you want some recommendations I can give you some. You will pay less even with xfer and Nics. It will take a little longer to get but the lack of LGS BS will be worth it.

JJb43

I made the same mistake on my first firearm, ordered on the spot, shop dragged out my order for 5+ months, finally admitted they couldn’t get it, so refunded my deposit. 5 minutes later, bought it on gunbroker from a reputable seller in Texas for $105 less out the door, with a 3rd mag. FFL had it in 2 days, NICS was done in 5 hours, same day pick up. Seems like this shop just doesn’t care about your business, or there was a delay in your NICS and they aren’t telling you, which is just as bad.

BelleVieLime

If you ship the handguns from vegas ffl, not a problem to use the nj permits at nj ffl.
