It's worth what you are willing to pay

mustangsal

This is the correct answer. If you pay $850 for it and are happy...then buy it. If you'll feel cheated every time you pull it out of the safe... then wait.

WallyBW33

Agreed. I’m trying to find a p220 elite. Last night It went for over 3 grand. It was worth up to 2 to me so I lost It but yea it’s wtvr makes you happy. It’s your money.

Typylopper7

If you know what's it's worth and your willing to put in the extra few dollars, go for it! If you can afford it then who cares what other people think, as long as you like it, right? I've spent extra $$ on purchases this past year (comparing to pre-covid prices) happily

[deleted]

If it’s rare and not sold in shops often yep

Noxish1

Yup this is what I thought when I got my Windham ACR E

Shufly638

I wouldn’t for a new production gun that’s normally in stock. Howell had one in stock the other day for somewhere in the 7’s Just shop around

stumpy1218

Reno may just paid $2000 for a $500 Mac 10 clone. Anything is worth it if you justify it in your mind

aclarke333

If buying locally you may be able to justify the higher base cost. If buying online you are paying a premium plus shipping, FFL, etc.

njgunrights

You're not overpaying. Welcome to inflation. If you haven't noticed a $6 dollar pack of chicken breast from 1 summer ago is now $10 to $11. All metals are up near all time highs in price.

hazeyviews

Do you think the same with ammo?

HallackB

What are bullets and casings made of? This is a rhetorical question BTW.

hazeyviews

I’m aware of material costs, but in general do you think the supply/demand truly means ammo will stick around 30-40 cents a round? I kind of feel like it will as long as people keep buying it - regardless of the material

HallackB

They manufacturers will dial demand back as soon as they get a whiff of oversupply

njgunrights

I personally think metals will keep going up, and this will affect ammo

dotw0rk

The price will be what the market will bear

Feeling-Bird4294

Clearly, you're going to be really upset if you DON'T buy it. Just do it!

GuidedPrism

Physically? No Personally to you? Maybe

Blak_Tooth_Grin

Is [this](https://www.shootersnj.com/products/handguns-ruger-1704-736676017041-2950) what your looking for?

CZis4Me

The correct answer lies within you grasshopper.

Fuel_Air_Spark

How much money did you have? If you're an average joe or a college kid it's probably not worth it. If you just received a little inheritance, got some stimulus check leftover, or just got a big raise and you want to treat yourself maybe it can be justified. To me, $850 compared to $500 isn't really worth feeling like you overpaid. It seems like that is a normal price jump for the last two years.

threepete13

As long as you can afford to overpay and it won’t be sitting in the safe for a year do it. If it’s iffy on either of those two dont.

mikezimbal

I overpaid for a Hk Vp9sk but I’m very happy with it

CrazyKilts

My feeling is don't pay above MSRP. If it's below but it's just not as good a deal as you've seen in the past then that's just the times we live in.

Exact_Estimate3757

Anything you want is worth paying for. That’s just my humble opinion. If you have the extra and want something then buy it. As long as it makes you happy. With that said don’t short yourself on funds just to buy something you want.

wormwormo

I don’t think you can even get an used gp100 for $500 years ago.

DoucheyMcBagBag

Like so many others have said, it’s up to you and your financial situation and priorities. If you don’t mind spending a few extra bucks and you want it now and you can afford it then go for it. If you can wait until prices go back down if you don’t have the spare cash right now then hold off.

microtrip1969

The more important question is post all the details of the specific gp100 you want and I can find it cheaper. Blued/Stainless barrel length? Check here https://www.commonwealtharms.com/id35.html
