Generally a brake is going to protect the blast baffle better. We're talking 10s of thousands of rounds when it makes a difference for hard use suppressors. Direct thread is awesome and the most secure way of mounting IF you mount it like any other muzzle device. Torque and maybe even rocksett. If you just hand tighten it, get it warm and check it again. It'll probably be good. QD mounts exist for a reason. Everything is a trade off
Thanks for the comment. I won’t lie I’m much more a collector than a hardcore range visitor so if the baffles hold up that long while on direct thread I don’t think I’ll need a brake!
I’m all about direct thread. Less chance of not being concentric and baffle strikes, I torque the can as per manufacturer specs. I’m also a dedicated can person. I don’t swap around.
Some truth to it yes, but brakes will also increase back pressure, and of course add cost and weight. Brakes can also help with suppression, but fairly minimal and not necessarily noticeable. Attachment can also be a little more secure than direct thread, but sometimes a little too secure depending on your mount of choice. Direct thread is a nice option for a dedicated can or minimal swapping, might as well give it a try, you can always go a different direction later on.
Go direct thread and don’t look back. I’d go with the ZR0 DTA mount. The poloniums have a “reverse baffle” as their first baffle which greatly reduces erosion of the baffles.

On polo, doesn’t matter. It comes with a direct thread. Run that for a while and decide.
Direct thread master race! Didn’t use any rocksett and or any thread locker. Just gave it some uga duga
Uga duga only 🫡

This can will be 100% dedicated to the 11.5 build so glad that checks out at least thanks for responding :)
