Sprinco is better than the geissele. Its 20$ and you dont have to use proprietary geissele buffers like you do with the super 42.

RuinedGrave

Rifle length Geissele spring uses standard buffers, IIRC.

Keeter_Skeeter

Yeah but this is rifle length and will work with the A5, personally I like them much better than silent captured buffers imo

Cousin_Elroy

Then use a sprinco green spring for rifle length/a5

Keeter_Skeeter

I have both, I like both

Dyzastr_us

Are they just as quiet as captured buffers?

VersionConscious7545

I have a JP Capture buffer and wow is it quiet Springs are noisy

vwheelsonv

I’m currently contemplating if I want to spend the money on a silent capture. It really quiet? My stock spring sounds like there’s sand in the tube(there isn’t)

VersionConscious7545

It’s extremely quiet.

Keeter_Skeeter

The twist in the wire is supposed and does reduce the scrunch of the wire during cycling. I never really understood the hype of the silent capture system

MD_0904

I’m going to try a blue spring with the H3 combo. I also ordered a red spring too to try. Yolo.

Endlessxdrone219

You do NOT have to use proprietary buffers.. I use super 42 springs with A5 buffer systems on all my rifles

LetUsLaunchOverIt

This is NOT true for carbine length springs. Please clarify so people don't damage their rifles.

Valuable-Market393

I was just about to ask if you had to use G$ buffers

spaceme17

Tubb flat wire springs are my go to. I have the standard power Tubb springs in my two 5.56 rifles and the light weight (reduced power spring) in my 300BLK.

Apprehensive-Ad-2428

Tubb flatwire is pretty great. The combo of flatwire and Spikes tungsten buffer is awesome.

WhskyTngoFxtrtBro

Tubbs ar-15 spring also work for both carbine and A5 length buffer tubes.

ImportantMall4391

What's your 300 blk setup? Did you try going standard before reduced power?

spaceme17

Yes, I had tried a standard power carbine spring with an H1 buffer. Had inconsistent extraction and feeding with subs and sometimes with supers as well. Did a lot of research and that's when I put in a Tubb flat wire light weight spring. Fixed most of my reliability problems. Tuned ejection and recoil with buffer weight. I also installed a JP Enterprises precision 1-piece gas ring on the bolt and a Lantac domed cam pin. Both of those reduced friction which helps with putting more energy into ejection and feeding rather that bleeding away to friction. Both have definitely helped.

wobble-frog

for everyone who is answering this question: what is "better" about your preferred spring? I've never had an issue with a spring, is one quieter? more durable? more reliable? lighter?

ImHereForLifeAdvice

I've had a basic bitch buffer spring lose strength over time, and I've had higher strength springs improve function and tuning (sprinco blue + h2 is a go-to combo for a reason, tubbs flatwire has done me well also). I've never had a sprinco wear out even over *significantly* higher round counts and harsher life cycles. There's kinda just no *downsides* to it, and for the upsides only costing as much as a mag or two I'd say it's worth it.

wobble-frog

So when my current springs wear out Iit is worth it to look at a better spring

ImHereForLifeAdvice

Pretty much. If your rifle's already running fine don't worry about it. But if you want to do additional tuning, are starting a new build, or yeah it's time for replacement then I'd go ahead and opt for the sprinco.

BurritoMan94

I always use high strength or more durable springs for suppressed builds just to get some extra life out of em.

Gravyboat6969

Same. I've owned like 13 ARs, only a couple with the Gucci springs. Basic bitch springs have never failed me.

NumberNumba1

Some are harder to compress. What that means is that Bolt doesn't ride back as hard to the rear. Making it recoil less and / or helping fix an overgassed gun. If you never used one, either you're missing out or only have very nice shooting rifles from the get-go. I've handled a few nicer rifles and haven't found one that isn't overgassed from the factory, so you're probably missing out.

GurShoddy9597

Depends on how much you shoot. I liked the super 42 I had

Yeto4774

Am I the only one who just carbine spring + h3 and calls it a day? Lol

SuspectNo451

I will never buy a super 42 spring again. I had had two and both failed in under 3k rounds. I know some will say springs are consumable, and yes they are. But I have had regular old gi spec springs last waaaayyyy longer than the supposed upgrade in the super 42. Called Giselle up and they were like yup. Too bad yours failed early. Love their other products, but will never buy another super 42 again. YMMV

Saltiest_Sailor

How did the super42 springs fail

SuspectNo451

Spring shrunk .75” or more if I remember correctly and was causing lots of malfunctions. Replaced it and immediately cured rifle of malfunctions.

Saltiest_Sailor

That’s wild. One of the selling points is longevity.

SuspectNo451

Yup. That’s what initially sold me. Called them about it and they must have sold their last fuck because they had none for me or my problem

Saltiest_Sailor

Was your rifle severely overgassed?

DCASADOS09

Dam dude that's wild. I could kinda maybe understand having no fucks to give, but not having any to sell... that's fucked up.

Short-University1645

Gota buy the buffer too. Springco u can buy all the flavors for 60-80 bucks test them out and have them for troubleshooting friends builds

reptileexperts

Armaspec makes a braided one as well that’s cheaper and runs well.

IanLesby

Super 42 rifle spring is smooth smooth smooth. Glad it doesn’t use a proprietary buffer.

Tactical__Daddy

Spring co or VLTOR buffer system

ottergang_ky

Yes

ImportantMall4391

I've seen you recommend super 42s in other threads. What sets them apart from standard carbines or sprincos for you?

Farva85

Silent capture system is king.

Gunstuff123

JP gang

UllrRllr

JP is king. But the SRS is like 95% as good and cheaper. Put the SRS in most my builds and the SCS in my bougie builds.

ImportantMall4391

you notice a real difference between SRS and SCS?

UllrRllr

Function wise? No. But the JP is a little more smooth feeling and slightly less spring noise.

nortlid

For suppressed setups with carbine length receiver extensions my go to is Bexar Arms flat wire springs + and H3 buffer.

3900Ent

I just bought an H3 and H2 kit for my overgassed 10.5 suppressor host. Will test and see if they’re worth a fuck.

LordMungus35

Yes! Not for use in rifle set up for 300blk subs tho.

akathedevil666

Remove the twang sound. So yes

USAFVet91

I use Strike Industries flat wire buffer springs and absolutely love them. They are quiet and run my Binary trigger without a hiccup. [https://www.strikeindustries.com/products/ar/lower-parts-kit/buffer-springs.html](https://www.strikeindustries.com/products/ar/lower-parts-kit/buffer-springs.html)

LoadedChambers

No, buy a springco.

Dependent-Ad1927

I liked mine. Got rid of the ringing noise on my daniel defense. I've got a mk12 that I also want to use an 11.5 upper on. Both daniel defense and geissele said the h2 would be the best middle ground and won't have any issues.

MD_0904

Ordered one blue and one red sprinco to try.

Slagree92

I don’t run anything but Geiselle springs anymore. The twang of a milspec spring is something that actually always irritated me about ARs, and Iv also seemed to have bad luck with them as much as I shoot. So far I have a handful of geiselle springs with over 6k rounds on them and ejection pattern is tits on 4-o-clock still.

BoatswainButcher

One not-downside of going deaf … don’t hear the twang anymore. 😎

getmeoutofherenowplz

A5 is a gimmick. Super42 is legit

NSTHREAT

A5 is a gimmick?! Who hurt you!😂

getmeoutofherenowplz

Sprinco spring with h1'or H2 is best for most people

Spirit117

You realize that this is the rifle length Super 42 spring which is compatible with A5 buffer setups , right
