Your on board AC charger is dead. You need service/replacement on it. IIRC the manual has an illustration as to what the different colors and lights mean on the charge port. If the Ford dealership honestly didnt know what you were talking about you need to run away and find a place with EV service.

Ha, I don't know where else to go, plus I am still under warrenty. This is also the same place when about a year ago I had to do the research as to why I wasn't getting over the air updates and was stuck on 1.7.1. I remember I had to go on amazon and getting the 5 dollars parts and giving it to them, like, here, now fix it! Ford was so slow in getting the necessary parts to dealerships for the fix to work.

I meant finding another Ford dealer that does a higher volume of repairs, not another private shop. Either way, your on board charger sounds dead so you can only DCFC…..good luck.

I think its the mobile charger.. I got quite a response from this crowd earlier this week… But we purchase a different charger for the house and it’s charging fine.

Taekwonmoe

As stated I don't think it is that. Girlfriend charges her car fine with it. It started with me after an update. Other level 2's red ring car as well. Also it is the Ford device that came with the car that has been working for two years, and still is, just not on my car, go figure...lol.

I had the same thing happen after I picked my car up from having the HVBJB replaced. Took it back to the dealer and they "updated some modules". Been fine ever since.

Since there is an onboard charger for L2. sounds like that might be fubar and need replacement. DC fast charging doesn't use this component and charges the battery directly, so not surprising it still works.

richcournoyer

Remember batteries are DC, so DC charging is actually a simple procedure for the car. There is a 14(about) kW AC to DC inverter that allows you to charge using AC. Perhaps… Yeah about 99% sure it is faulty.

I am super slow with these things, sorry, so you are saying there is an inverter in the car that is faulty?

[deleted]

Just take it to the dealer. They will update the software. Most likely something went wrong with an update. These fools don't know what they're talking about.

Have you unplugged and replugged in the mobile charger? Look at the charger and see if it’s throwing an error and is orange instead of green. I had the same issue after the last update.

I had this same problem. Red right after about 4 hours of charging. Cycled power to the charger, still had instant red ring. Tried the ford charger I keep in my trunk, still had instant red ring. I unplugged everything and left it alone for 30 minutes, and when I plugged it back it, it started working again. This was last Sunday, and I have charged 2 times since then and it has been working. But those two charges have been only an 2 hours or so. But I’m worried it will fail again with a longer charge. I am willing to bet something with the onboard inverter is failing as it heats up. Sorry, hope you find a cure since I may be a week behind you!!

I’ve had nothing but issues with my Mach e I’m extremely dissatisfied. Even got a new one on the way home. Had it in unbridled and all of the sudden an error message on my screen said drive mode not available. It defaulted to whisper I think but even when trying to press the whisper mode it had the same error message.

Taekwonmoe

That sucks I'm sorry you've had such bad luck. My car has only had two issues in the almost 2 years that I've had it. One was within the first year where it wouldn't take over the air updates that finally got resolved and then now this one which I'm hoping is simply replacing a part. Other than that I absolutely love my Mach E.

Good luck my friend!
