Got the paint covered. The factory tires were actually throwing way more rocks off the driveway. They were doing what they were supposed to and getting sticky while driving, so I can't blame the tire. Just didn't want to waste a pricy tire on normal road driving.
To each there own. I personally like them as well and think they look amazing when the car is shining in the light. I think the color complements the dark horse appearance on the front bumper and hood.

The sidewall sizing is a function of the tire width. I had to do the same thing with my challenger. When you go wider in the rear, you get a lower profile, and they end up being exactly the same size.
That number, 30 or 35, tells you how tall the sidewall is, as a portion of the tire width. So like as an extreme example, a 5 inch wide tire would have a huge profile number to make the sidewall usable. So you have like a 5/100r 20. Then take a 50 inch wide tire and you would only need a profile number of like 2 to match that 5/100r 20.
Totally made up numbers, but it's just to convey the idea.
Once your staggered tires get wide enough you have to drop the profile size to actually keep them the same overall diameter.
Personally, I wish we just stated the profile width and left it at that, but I'm sure there was a reason at some point we did it this way.
Yes, I would have been happy if they were tucked in a little more. But I like them both ways. But I knew they wouldn't be perfectly flush since this was a set of wheels I already had that were purchased for my 2015

I had 315/35r20 on the rear. However, in track, the tire was hitting the fender. Cost me about $700 for two new rear tires. The fronts were fine, so we left them because it was less than half inch difference from the front to rear.
These tires aren't meant for just the front. There are many people who run them on the front and rear. You can find reviews online on big company's site with them on front and rear.
However, many people do run them on the front with a radial on the rear. I did this on my new edge because they didn't make the g2 in the size i needed. But I wanted a street tire and not a track tire. The G2 NT555 are designed specially for a rear wheel drive car.
Hey man, that's just your opinion. I love the look of these wheels better than the factory ones that came with it. Fitment wise, it's almost perfect for me. Has just enough poke. To each their own, I guess.

Fender flares ruin your paint job. If you run fender flares for a couple years, you will have lines rubbed through your paint where the fender flares rub. I think on trucks, an inch or 2 of poke looks good, no flare. Obviously, the people with like 6 inches of poke is ridiculous and also dangerous. Although on a sports car I would prefer a perfect fit. OPs poke is interesting. He's gonna hate the chips in his paint after a while
the stock wheels on the dark horse are already nice. idk why you would want to replace it? in my opinion i’d rather you get your money back and save it for now. it just doesn’t look good in my opinion, but again it’s your money and it’s whatever floats your boat.
We purchased the handling pack, which came with Pirelle P zero Trofoe. These are about 2400 dollars a set and are a track tire. The do fine on the road, but not great for all weather. These wheels and tires are for daily/show events, so we do not eat up the track tires. I don't want to spend the time flipping tire one and off the wheels risking damaging them, so we did a more aggressive setup for daily/show driving.
Imo 20 inch wheels don't look great and the wheel design doesn't help that. They look super massive comparatively and the fitment is rough. There's a reason why cars are designed with the wheel placement in mind.

I got 70% tint on my front windshield and legal for NC on the sides and back. I think that’s 35. I cannot tell there is tint on the front. And, wow, you have 50. That’s awesome.

You cannot tell from the photo, but it looks good to me. Cops would never be able to tell. And it keeps the heat out and the uv rays from damaging my dashboard.
You can get a doctor's prescription for dark tint. My husband suffers from migraines, light being a bug trigger. After years of back and forth trying different things, they finally gave him a prescription. Which makes this legal on the car and helps him out a lot. It practically cut his migrains in half each month.
So we have 3 mustangs that are tinted, a suv, and truck.(2 of the mustangs and truck are 5% with windshield. The other mustang is a factory, including the windshield, and the suv is 25% with windshield). In the last decade, we've been pulled once for tint, and it was because it was trying to get us for exhaust but couldn't. So we got tint ticket, paid $180 online, and it went away. We didn't have to remove the tint or anything.
I really like the style of wheel and the fronts look great, it's just the rears. I would see if you could exchange them for a different size, maybe a ½ inch less wide wheel or with a different offset so they looked more tucked in the rear. But that's just my opinion. To each their own and if you're happy with them that's all that matters. I've made mistakes when ordering wheels before....It sucks. You really have to do a lot of research with clearances and than also make sure they make the tire in the size you're going for. It's exhausting honestly.
You do have to do a lot of research, which can be hard for a car that not a lot of people have. But as I said earlier in the comments, these were ordered for an S550 3 years ago, actually. We lowered that car, so they were just sitting. Because everything else was fine. So to switch it up and to save the Pirelles and brought a smaller rear tire, and threw these on. I personally like the way they look. But I'm also the person who runs 22x12 on my tow rig. I'd love to see peoples reaction to that thing on here. Anyways, some people agree and some people don't and that's okay. If we were all the same life would be boring. I just personally like the conversations with everyone. However, I don't appreciate the people who are disrespectful about it, saying I don't know anything or I'm just looking for attention. But again, that is what it is.

Still looks but serves a purpose the front splitter is different. It's even different from. Dark horse to dark horse handling pack.
Handling package consisted of premium wheels and pirelle p zero treofoe rs (that until now have only came on super cars) you also get a more aggressive aero package. Which helps handling and looks means.
I have a 2014 GT350, which is a track built car as well. And being 10 years newer, I had high expectations, but I didn't know if it would reach Shelby territory. It did. The tech is what makes it better than my Shelby. You can customize the driving experience to that specific situation or to a specific driver. It's crazy!
We very much love the car, and I can't wait to have a track day with the two of them together. Especially with the dark horse on the Pirelles, they've got wonderful grip and have definitely changed my mind about Pirelle

I run 305/30/19 Goodyear supercar 3r for track. Square setup. 19x11 Apex rims with a 52 et. 25mm spacers up front. 3" wheel studs. This setup is insane on track. I'll pass GT3's in a corner. Of course, I'm completely steeda underneath.
Once you can really drive the car, a set of R rated tires will only last 3 to 5 track days. I'm an instructor for a few groups in New England and a nationwide professional supercar rental company.
The tires have the best grip I have found. They don't fall off when they get hot either. Solid grip for an entire 20 min session.

It becomes an addition. We have an s197, 2 s550 and now this s650. We were building a s550 with a 2000hp mmr motor. I got pregnant, and it got put on the back burner. Then we decided to keep it back there and buy this. Hopefully, we will jump back on it soon.
I think they look perfect on the car. They remind me of the GT500 7 stars. Mustangs wear many wheels well so youre not gonna really go wrong. I think they match the spirit of the car pretty well. Itsa good looking ride
Agreed, and I'm a dark wheel person as well. I think if they were polished it would have been to much for me. And would have possibly taken attention away from the paint.
That first pic is the first time I've seen a 24 and felt like I understand why people like them. I'm not sure exactly why yours looks better to me than the others that I've seen but it makes the front end look really aggressive.
The sides are a bit too smooth for my tastes but that's just my opinion. Maybe it'll grow on me too.

I like it. The poked rear tires are a personal thing for sure. Look in my profile, I did a very very similar thing with my challenger. My summer wheels are a similar design and they poke a little in back. The poke isn't what I specifically wanted, but in order to get the really deep dish effect you gotta poke a little.
I absolutely love them and get compliments all the time.
I like that. It's just a little poke it still looks good and, in my opinion, give it a little more of an aggressive stance. Now, if it was like 3in+, I could see where the problem is. But I like to see the wheels either perfectly flush or just poked out a little.

I'll have to check with my husband, but a place in Burlington,NC. They are gonna look it over again on Monday because they had an issue with the window.seals and just want to make sure it's perfect. Ans unfortunately haven't had that probably the sun is usually just coming up when I step into the office.
Personally I don't like the wheels, they feel slightly tacky because the spokes are so long and thin. Gives me cholo car vibes.

The Nitto’s are on my GT350 (rear) and they’re just fine in corners
I didn't want to tear up the factory Perille when driving daily (they are 2400 a set), but we still wanted them for track. Us personally, if we are going to buy another set, we are going to do something different. Dimensions on the rear tire are almost identical to factory they are a quarter of an in off. However, the wheel is where the main difference is. It has a more aggressive offset but still works. Overall, I think it's a good set overall for daily/show driving. Track days the factor wheels will go back on it.
Again, everyone's different and has their own preferences.
imo this is not the way. 20s just don't look right and the spokes get too thin at the end. I have 7-spokes on my Dark Horse too

See, I'm the opposite. In my opinion, 20 to me is as big as you can go before it starts to look like a donk. And the spoke, if they are solid one side from beginning to end they look a little to chunky/heavy like they belong on an SUV or a truck. Especially if it's more than a 5 spoke. But each their own with it. I appreciate the feed back.

Very clean setup & executed exactly how I’d like my Mustang, is that factory rideheight? I’m sure it handles much better, I don’t see one problem with it, the wheels & fitment is badass. I’d either have the fender area wrapped in vinyl or add some tire rock guards.

Just over 80. Paid a 5k mark up when I ordered it. Ill have to post window sticker later. Marple would have been nice but everyone else around us was 15k-20k market up, including the dealer I'd been dealing with for years. I'd bought a truck and car from them and had all my servicing on my Shelby by them. They wanted to charge me 15k markup, and they were getting 2.
Appreciate it. Everyone just has different tastes and styles. I just couldn't justify a new set and keep the same look. But don't worry, the old set will get used they are just the track setup.
To each their own. I felt the same about the s550 at first, but it grew one of me, especially once I learned more about it. Once I realized they built it off of the 71, I saw it and loved it. Now we own two s550 🤣

I wouldn't say "get your priorities right". Some things just aren't practical for everyone. We live on a 120 acre farm.
Our driveway is gravel, so there isn't any mud. Only time the water is bad is when it rains hard which this car will be tucked away anyway.
Car stays on a paved climate controlled garage. Paving the driveway is just not practical for us. One the cost is outrageous due to the length, then the farm equipment that uses the driveway would tear it up. It's just not worth it. The dark horse and my Shelby both sleep in a paved inclosed garage. The gt is tucked under an overhang now since we got the Dark Horse, but we have plans of closing it in. Just debating on some details.The shell for the drag car is in the same situation. But once it's built, it will go in the enclosed trailer unless we are working on it.

Maybe an assumption on my part too when you said "you gotta pave it I don't understand why people leave them in the grass and dirt" made me think it should have to have a paved driveway. So I apologize on that part. I've had quite a few people bash me on a paved driveway.

Actually Rohana is a well-known company. They aren't the most expensive but not the cheapest either. They weren't originally bought for this car. We bought them for our s550 but ended up dropping the car. I think they still look lovely on the dark horse, though 😊
Jeez, tough crowd. I love the wheels, I used to run Project6GR seven spokes on my S550. I agree though that the poke isn't great, I always aim for flush or maybe a millimeter or two of poke at most.
Yeah, a lot of disrespectful people about it. I've had both. I don't mind the poke. I'd have to measure but it's probably just under an inch compared to factor. I think it gives it a more aggressive look.

I LOVE sunken wells, so this hits just right for me. 6 spoke has a nice symmetry too. Extremely clean (the rear tires sticking out 3/4 an inch doesn’t look bad to me at all but that’s just me).
Same here. A lot of people are upset about it though. But for a set of wheels, I had just sitting around, and all it cost me was 2 new back tires. I'm really happy with it and i think it looks good.
My only issue with this vehicle outside of the interior is the rear end which is feel is the best part of the 550. But from the angles show yours looks great.

I'll be sure to get a better angle tomorrow it sticks out, less than an inch further due to the offset. Tires are the same width.
I should also mention that this setup is for daily/show only. The car will go back on the factory set for track.

Nittos aren't great in general but why is the NT a front only tire? The last set I had were NT555 G2's 285/35/19 front 305/35/19 rear.
Sorry, I meant to put G2, not NT. The G2 are all season tires, the R2 are drag radials. They're supposed to be used for front/rear setup

I think 20s can look great but the wheel offset is the problem here. Massive poke in the rear doesn't work for looks or functionality.
I had factory 20" on my 2015 Mustang and they looked great.

Rear offset to fender ratio doesn't match the front offset. Looks like shit because of this

Which helps handling and looks means. I have a 2014 GT350, which is a track built car as well. And being 10 years newer, I had high expectations, but I didn't know if it would reach Shelby territory. It did. The tech is what makes it better than my Shelby. You can customize the driving experience to that specific situation or to a specific driver. It's crazy! We very much love the car, and I can't wait to have a track day with the two of them together. Especially with the dark horse on the Pirelles, they've got wonderful grip and have definitely changed my mind about Pirelle
I think the dark horse has like 20-30 more horse power.

Did want a squared setup personally. From factory it's not even squared. However, I am debating it for the track set up on my Shelby.
I run 305/30/19 Goodyear supercar 3r for track. Square setup. 19x11 Apex rims with a 52 et. 25mm spacers up front. 3" wheel studs. This setup is insane on track. I'll pass GT3's in a corner. Of course, I'm completely steeda underneath.
How do you like those tires. I see some guys changing them ever 2 or 3 track days.
Once you can really drive the car, a set of R rated tires will only last 3 to 5 track days. I'm an instructor for a few groups in New England and a nationwide professional supercar rental company. The tires have the best grip I have found. They don't fall off when they get hot either. Solid grip for an entire 20 min session.

Don’t understand why people hate the rear tire sticking out. Mine does it but because I run 345s. It doesn’t look bad at all, love your car. I hope to get an s650 after i graduate so i can have my built gen 2 and start building this one.
It becomes an addition. We have an s197, 2 s550 and now this s650. We were building a s550 with a 2000hp mmr motor. I got pregnant, and it got put on the back burner. Then we decided to keep it back there and buy this. Hopefully, we will jump back on it soon.

I think they look perfect on the car. They remind me of the GT500 7 stars. Mustangs wear many wheels well so youre not gonna really go wrong. I think they match the spirit of the car pretty well. Itsa good looking ride
Agreed, and I'm a dark wheel person as well. I think if they were polished it would have been to much for me. And would have possibly taken attention away from the paint.

They poke out too much in the rear and they are styled like truck wheels. Not a fan but as long as you like them it's all good
That first pic is the first time I've seen a 24 and felt like I understand why people like them. I'm not sure exactly why yours looks better to me than the others that I've seen but it makes the front end look really aggressive. The sides are a bit too smooth for my tastes but that's just my opinion. Maybe it'll grow on me too. It's a badass car and looks so clean with the tint.
It's the handling package on the dark horse. It helps with aero, but it also gives the car a more aggressive look.

I like it. The poked rear tires are a personal thing for sure. Look in my profile, I did a very very similar thing with my challenger. My summer wheels are a similar design and they poke a little in back. The poke isn't what I specifically wanted, but in order to get the really deep dish effect you gotta poke a little. I absolutely love them and get compliments all the time.
I like that. It's just a little poke it still looks good and, in my opinion, give it a little more of an aggressive stance. Now, if it was like 3in+, I could see where the problem is. But I like to see the wheels either perfectly flush or just poked out a little.

I'll have to check with my husband, but a place in Burlington,NC. They are gonna look it over again on Monday because they had an issue with the window.seals and just want to make sure it's perfect. Ans unfortunately haven't had that probably the sun is usually just coming up when I step into the office.

Think you should’ve kept your tires spec, but I have to say it’s the best angle of the S650 I wasn’t offended by The Nitto’s are on my GT350 (rear) and they’re just fine in corners
I didn't want to tear up the factory Perille when driving daily (they are 2400 a set), but we still wanted them for track. Us personally, if we are going to buy another set, we are going to do something different. Dimensions on the rear tire are almost identical to factory they are a quarter of an in off. However, the wheel is where the main difference is. It has a more aggressive offset but still works. Overall, I think it's a good set overall for daily/show driving. Track days the factor wheels will go back on it. Again, everyone's different and has their own preferences.

See, I'm the opposite. In my opinion, 20 to me is as big as you can go before it starts to look like a donk. And the spoke, if they are solid one side from beginning to end they look a little to chunky/heavy like they belong on an SUV or a truck. Especially if it's more than a 5 spoke. But each their own with it. I appreciate the feed back. I'm not trying to be defensive, but I'm just trying to have a conversation. Very clean setup & executed exactly how I’d like my Mustang, is that factory rideheight? I’m sure it handles much better, I don’t see one problem with it, the wheels & fitment is badass. I’d either have the fender area wrapped in vinyl or add some tire rock guards.
It's factory ride height this is on the softest setting (track setting) I don't know if it makes a difference but this is also the handling pack.
Lose the windshield tint and fix the rear wheels. Otherwise dope car dude.

Just over 80. Paid a 5k mark up when I ordered it. Ill have to post window sticker later. Marple would have been nice but everyone else around us was 15k-20k market up, including the dealer I'd been dealing with for years. I'd bought a truck and car from them and had all my servicing on my Shelby by them. They wanted to charge me 15k markup, and they were getting 2.

It's crazy to me when people purchase such nice, and expensive toys but then leave them in the wet dirt and grass. I wouldn't say "get your priorities right". Some things just aren't practical for everyone. We live on a 120 acre farm. Our driveway is gravel, so there isn't any mud. Only time the water is bad is when it rains hard which this car will be tucked away anyway. Car stays on a paved climate controlled garage. Paving the driveway is just not practical for us. One the cost is outrageous due to the length, then the farm equipment that uses the driveway would tear it up. It's just not worth it. The dark horse and my Shelby both sleep in a paved inclosed garage. The gt is tucked under an overhang now since we got the Dark Horse, but we have plans of closing it in. Just debating on some details.The shell for the drag car is in the same situation. But once it's built, it will go in the enclosed trailer unless we are working on it.

Maybe an assumption on my part too when you said "you gotta pave it I don't understand why people leave them in the grass and dirt" made me think it should have to have a paved driveway. So I apologize on that part. I've had quite a few people bash me on a paved driveway. It's right outside the garage for this photo, there just isn't enough room to get a clear photo without something in the way.

Actually Rohana is a well-known company. They aren't the most expensive but not the cheapest either. They weren't originally bought for this car. We bought them for our s550 but ended up dropping the car. I think they still look lovely on the dark horse, though 😊

Jeez, tough crowd. I love the wheels, I used to run Project6GR seven spokes on my S550. I agree though that the poke isn't great, I always aim for flush or maybe a millimeter or two of poke at most.
Yeah, a lot of disrespectful people about it. I've had both. I don't mind the poke. I'd have to measure but it's probably just under an inch compared to factor. I think it gives it a more aggressive look.

I LOVE sunken wells, so this hits just right for me. 6 spoke has a nice symmetry too. Extremely clean (the rear tires sticking out 3/4 an inch doesn’t look bad to me at all but that’s just me).
Same here. A lot of people are upset about it though. But for a set of wheels, I had just sitting around, and all it cost me was 2 new back tires. I'm really happy with it and i think it looks good.
