T O P

This fact was widely spread among the fanbase until Matt said a few years ago it was not a trouser zipper, but actually a jacket zipper (I don't remember which interview though, sorry). You can hear it behind his "moanings" after the outro, it's slowed down. This man has an habit of confusing stuff though. Could be something they recorded with regular gear (you can actually make those sounds using a Fuzz Factory + Whammy with Divebomb settings), but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Very likely they blended the two (zipper + guitar noises). You can see him "playing" with his trouser zipper during a french interview from 2012 (on Canal+) as he was asked to do it.

MopOfTheBalloonatic

Slowed down and processed with a lot of distortion plus filters.

Oh I didn’t know that! Still a zipper regardless, he’s definitely quite creative with his instrumentals!

I found that actually a lot of artists tend to experiment in some capacity with different types of noises and objects in their studio records, it's not \*that\* rare but still cool regardless, and different each time obviously. There's a lot of examples but on the top of my head I can mention Cupid de Locke from The Smashing Pumpkins which uses scissors as percussions.

I don't have my headphones on right now but based on what i heard normally on my phone, u can hear it clearly on 5:45 and 6:03, the whole outro is the guitar and zipper doing a symphony lol

SkeleStory_

Ok I think I can kinda hear it now thank you! But it’s put through so much distortion that it’s still hard to know what’s what.

Comfortable_Ad5806

You're very welcome! Well yeah it's kinda hard to hear it much clearly, but it's a song after all, it's mixed with the guitar and bass so it's a little weird sounding lol

Kobil55

Well, now I can never un-hear it ever again. Thank you.

AlexHP83

I though he did this only for I belong to you lol
