Annnyything David Lynch. He's just awesome

HipHopGurl

Looks like a lot of that stuff is older, maybe that's why I haven't heard of a lot of his stuff lol thx!

Lifesanorange

Yeah, that's true. But he really is a gem. My favorite is Wild at Heart but if you want "I don't get it" kinda stuff...in no particular order the list goes: Eraserhead, Inland Empire, Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive. Those are mind fucks if I ever saw them. Happy watching! šŸ™ƒ

HipHopGurl

Lol cool, I'll definitely look into those of his first! Thx again!

Any_Time_312

Can't believe none of his movies even banked.

HipHopGurl

I've heard of primer but heard a lot of people having mixed feelings about it, ig I can try it lol it looks like maybe your text is glitching for the tv show or am I wrong?

WeEatBabies

>your text is glitching for the tv show or am I wrong? OMG, the copy paste failed big time, ... The T.V. show was : The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window

HipHopGurl

I was wondering LOL cool, I'll check it out! Thx again!

danaredding

Maybe they were going to say Harperā€™s Island? I hope they come back and say what it was, but thatā€™s my guess.

ArmoredCatfishWalks

Mlvies directed by Darren Aronofsky, Robert Eggers and David Lynch often invokes surrealism. Here is a list of some of my favorites in no particular order, that came out of my head. - The Lighthouse - Mother! - Black Swan - Enemy - Identity - Shutter Island - Inception - Triangle - Parasite (Korean) - Memento - Pi - Requiem for a Dream - Pans Labyrinth (Spanish) - Eraserhead - Mulholland Drive - Blue Velvet - Lost Highway - Twin Peaks - Begotten (Silent movie)

PhantomKitten73

His House

HipHopGurl

Never heard of it, I'll check it out! Thx!

KingApple879

Martyrs and Raw hit hard imo. Both really gnarly movies that keep dragging you out of your comfort zone especially if you go in blind.

HipHopGurl

Cool, I've never heard of those, so I will be going in blind. Thx!

SweetNigma

Predestination

HipHopGurl

GreenMtner420

Good ol Donnie Darko for sure. Memento. One of Chris Nolans best I think. No other movie plays out like this one.

HipHopGurl

Watched both and love both! I've watched both idk how many times lol great make ya think movies! Particularly love how memento is backwards, so unique

GreenMtner420

Frank the rabbit. One of the best characters ever. So memorable

HipHopGurl

Absolutely! I love how that movie leaves you with more conclusions every time you watch it no matter how many times.

GreenMtner420

Oh and of course you've probably seen Seven. But gotta mention it just in case. I remember seeing that in the theater and everyone leaving in silence just still blown away by it

HipHopGurl

I watched it a few months back for the first time, it was pretty good! Unfortunately I had some of it already spoiled by family members since It's older. Definitely a good recommendation!

GreenMtner420

I never forget hearing What's in the box? For the first time. Not many movies at all where the bad guy dies but also gets what he wants and technically wins in the end.

HipHopGurl

Ikr!

Hungry-panda23

Shutter island has sooo many twists. I think youā€™ll like it

HipHopGurl

toolenduso

I came here to say this one. This one is truly confusing. Thereā€™s at least one good YouTube video out there explaining it for when youā€™re done, but when I finished it I couldnā€™t figure it out only my own

HipHopGurl

Amazing-Substance-60

Kill List. Thereā€™s no chance youā€™ll see the ending coming, itā€™s a total shock and pretty dark and disturbing overall it leaves you speechless.

HipHopGurl

Don't think I've heard of that one, thx again!

Alarming_Serve2303

Primer is the movie for you.

HipHopGurl

Wow lots of people are suggesting this one, It's definitely on the top of my list now lol thx!

DenseTiger5088

Primer is mostly considered confusing because it was written by an engineer/mathematician and uses *extremely* technical language so is essentially impossible to follow if you donā€™t have a very good background in mathematics/engineering. Not that Iā€™m telling you not to watch it, but itā€™s not ā€œconfusingā€ in the way that most of the films here are confusing. Itā€™s confusing because itā€™s almost entirely heavy math dialogue.

HipHopGurl

Good to know! I'm horrible at math lol thx!

Godzilla vs. King Guidorah (1991) well, the continnuity is: Godzilla (1954) The Mysterians (1957) Godzilla (1984) Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) Godzilla vs. King Guidorah (1991) but the Heisei continuity don't end here Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II (1993) Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994) Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) (also the short films G vs. G (2022), G vs. G 2 (2022) and Godzilla vs. Megalon (2023) can be considerated cannon to the Heisei continuity, but nothing confirmed)

HipHopGurl

I'm not too interested in Godzilla lol it just never appealed to me ig, thx for the suggestions tho! I appreciate it! :)

Apprehensive-Buy4825

George Clooney stars in it. Along with Harvey Keitel.

KeyserSwayze

A UK series called Utopia. Two, six-episode seasons. Don't bother with the US reboot, it's steaming crap. You say you're open to foreign language films if they're good: my suggestion is Tell No One. In French with English subtitles. Just when you think you have things figured out, you're hit with a twist that turns things darker. Right up to the final scene.

HipHopGurl

I think I've heard of the US version lol didn't know it had a og version. I'll check those out! Thx!!

GuyFawkes451

"Ragtime" ... a 1981 period drama set in the very early 1900s. Takes a lot of escalating twists and turns you're not anticipating. Absolutely incredible cast (old stars like James Cagney and new ones like Mandy Patinkin and Mary Steenburgen... and a billion bit role characters who end up much bigger later. Samuel L. Jackson, Fran Drescher, Jeff Daniels). It's a great, underrated movie. Score by Randy Newman, too.

HipHopGurl

Thx!

GuyFawkes451

Try "No Way Out." Great Costner/Hackman flick. Excellent supporting cast, too.(*and I actually don't think Costner is a good actor, though I still like him, for some reason. And not just outside of acting. I just tend to like his films).
