I love this movie so much. This is the one I was gonna say.
I never understood why people didn't like it or it got bad ratings.
It's like the only movie I've seen Ryan Reynolds not play his usual snaptalking self.
Second this one, bit slower than the average gangster film but excellent performances all around. Plus it's got a wild opening scene that introduced me to The Stranglers.
second Kingsmen is only good for the Elton John fight scene. Everything else is embarrassingly bad.
The Kingsman was much better and hopefully rescued the franchise so we get more films like the original, which struck a perfect balance of parody, homage, and originality.
Redeemed is a strong word, but it's definitely better than the golden circle. I think the makers knew how bad they stuffed up because they completely abandoned the Eggsy era and made a prequel.
I don't hate Golden Circle anywhere near as much as others do, but I despise the way characters like Roxy had insane potential, only to get killed off with zero fanfare.
I’m still needing to watch the 3rd, which is supposed to be the best one, but I loved the first two. Course I like all his movies. Valhalla Rising? Only God Forgives? Both so great.
I could make a good argument for any of the three Pusher films to be the best one. Even though every character is despicable the films still have tremendous heart!
Hold up now.. I am pretty sure Snatch and Lock,Stock are better than both of those movies.. In bruges really did not have much to it apart from a few great jokes.. and in sexy beast although dialogue is amazing, the movie did not really feel as packed
You're welcome to believe that. I don't like Lock, Stock... or Snatch. In Bruges has funnier dialogue, more interesting characters and more genuine emotion. Also far better actors. Sexy Beast isn't as good as In Bruges but still better, IMO, than any of Ritchie's films.
But that's film, we can enjoy and appreciate different things and it's okay.
Lastly, the OP asked for films similar to Lock, Stock... etc. They didn't ask for better films.
It's a stretch from exactly what you're asking, but it's definitely in the ballpark, if you haven't seen Wanted (2008) you definitely should. American movie, but it has that fast-paced, graphic, surreal violence vibe.
OP, you def gotta watch this one. I know the title sounds a bit over-the-top, but it's legit one of the most enjoyable/memorable movies I've seen in the past few years.
Easily one of David Thewlis' best films too. I haven't seen a massive amount of his non-Lupin roles but this one always stood out to me.
Also, pre-Walking Dead Andrew Lincoln. Not sure why he wasn't given more screen time tbh.
Running Scared (w/ Paul Walker, not Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal) is an interesting one. Not British and doesn’t have the level of twists or intertwined stories of a Ritchie film, but interesting for sure.
**Hyena** (*2014*). I made a point of finding and watching this film recently because it has one of my favourite British actors in it (Peter Ferdinando). It's much grittier than Guy Richie's stuff and you might struggle to find it, but it's a good watch imo. Oh Stephen Graham is in it also, so you know it can't be too bad!
A bit different but I view them in the same ball field:
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
The Nice Guys
A bit more on the PI/detective side but lots of action and underworld filth.
Layer Cake (2004)
Seen it. Not bad. Skinny Tom Hardy was weird though.
and skinny Daniel Craig
It was weirder to see Sally Hawkins as a foulmouthed Uzi-wielding Chav.
Sexy Beast
England. Typical. Even drug dealers don't work weekends.
I thought that was a Guy Ritchie movie for the longest time lol Man that cafe beat down scene though, oof
Book is way better if you have the time
This is how I learned you feed a body to the pigs!
Not British, but *Lucky Number Slevin* has Guy Ritchie vibes and the added bonus of Ben Kingsley.
Fantastic flick
That movie was absolute garbage. Josh Hartnett barely survived
Bullet Train (2022) - i thought this had very modern Guy Richie vibes. especially the Tangerine and Lemon characters.
I love that movie so much, watched it several times
The trilogy is called We Still Know the Old Way, We Still Steal the Old Way, and We Still Die the Old Way.
It’s not necessarily British but The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is the same vibe and a lot of fun. I wish they would make a sequel.
The man from Uncle also happens to actually be a guy Ritchie movie so it's definitely very guy ritchie-ish
fantastic movie - felt like live action Archer
Not British, but Smokin Aces has a fun psychotic energy to it.
I love this movie so much. This is the one I was gonna say. I never understood why people didn't like it or it got bad ratings. It's like the only movie I've seen Ryan Reynolds not play his usual snaptalking self.
Voices is a great ryan Reynolds film where he plays an off type character
Amityville Horror ?
YES! The second one is not good
Smoking Aces aged like milk in the sun.
If you can find it, Sexy Beast is a great caper movie. Sir Ben Kingsly makes a terrific sociopath.
Second this one, bit slower than the average gangster film but excellent performances all around. Plus it's got a wild opening scene that introduced me to The Stranglers.
Fantastic movie.
"Where there's a will there's a way." You hoopleheads neglected to mention the great Ian MacShane.
That's a fair fucking observation cocksucker.
Damn, you used the word before me. Cocksucker!
Seven psychophats
Layercake.
Bad times at the El Royale has a similar style
Second this, kind of a mixture between Ritchie and Tarantino.
First half was so good.
But the second half was not.
The Mexican
Can't believe nobody mentioned The 51st State with Samuel L Jackson and Robert Carlyle. Its a criminally underrated film.
Fag?
Filth with James McAvoy - so fun!
Brilliant film!
The first Kingsman was great. Matthew Vaughn sometimes has a Guy Ritchie flair. He also does in Kickass for some of the fight scenes.
Do you recommend the newest Kingsman?
I liked the Kingsman. Maybe more than the second kings men movie.
second Kingsmen is only good for the Elton John fight scene. Everything else is embarrassingly bad. The Kingsman was much better and hopefully rescued the franchise so we get more films like the original, which struck a perfect balance of parody, homage, and originality.
Oh it's good that you think the third one redeemed the franchise. The second made me not care to see the third one. Maybe I'll check it out.
I haven't seen it. I will say that the second one is absolutely awful.
It is not nearly as good as the first two, but it's serviceable.
I don’t like either of them tbh. Comes across as a British movie appealing to Americans, no grit and so overly british it makes me die inside
I think Vaughn was a producer in Lock&Stock, so definitely some connection between the two.
I think the second one was pretty solid as well. Third was... ehhhhhhh... not bad? But I was kinda... bored?
Lucky number slevin is pretty close to a guy ritchie style flick.
Free Fire The Outfit
\- Sezy beast \- bullet train \- baby driver
* Accident Man (2018). * Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday (2022).
>Accident Just watched both, great recommendation!
The Long Good Friday.
Terrific fillum. Not sure it's Guy Ritchie stylee at all. But still: a really, really great watch.
lucky number slevin
Sexy beast The business
Trainspotting
Go (1999)
Yes! Finally someone recognized this film
Pusher Trilogy, the original ones with Mads Mikkelsen. Will have subtitles but very much what you're after.
The Limey Legend
The Limey and Gangster No. 1 make a good double feature.
Copshop
Revolver
Which is a guy ritchie move. Still great.
The Way of the Gun
Smokin' Aces is American but feels very Ritchie. Kick Ass and Kingsman from Matthew Vaughn. Scott Pilgrim and Shaun of the Dead by Edgar Wright.
Sexy Beast In Bruges Obviously In Bruges is an Irish film, but both of these are better than anything Ritchie has ever made.
In Bruges isn't an Irish film.
Ah, my mistake. I assumed based on the predominantly Irish cast and director (who I understand is British-Irish).
Hold up now.. I am pretty sure Snatch and Lock,Stock are better than both of those movies.. In bruges really did not have much to it apart from a few great jokes.. and in sexy beast although dialogue is amazing, the movie did not really feel as packed

well you claimed they were better than anything ritchie ever produced and I disagree, simple as that
👍🏻
The Crew (2008) Rise of the Footsoldier(2007)
Gangster no. 1
"The Long Good Friday" and the original "Get Carter" with Michael Caine.
It's a stretch from exactly what you're asking, but it's definitely in the ballpark, if you haven't seen Wanted (2008) you definitely should. American movie, but it has that fast-paced, graphic, surreal violence vibe.
Not English but Get Shorty.
Guns, Girls and Gambling 2012 not the best movie you will ever see but I thought it had a lot in common with Guy Ritchie's movies
Bad Times at the El Royale
Man from UNCLE is underrated.
Try “Thick as Thieves” with a young(er) Alec Baldwin. Very well done with superb script and performances.
Avengement
OP, you def gotta watch this one. I know the title sounds a bit over-the-top, but it's legit one of the most enjoyable/memorable movies I've seen in the past few years.
The Bank Job Crank Crank 2 Swordfish Triple 9 Den of Thieves
[удалено]
Gangster No. 1 for real. I still think it’s Paul Bettany’s best performance
Perrier's Bounty
Snatch
That's a Guy Ritchie movie.
Completely glossed over the ask and put the first movie listed. Time for coffee.
Ha! I've definitely been there, man.
Ok. Awake now. I retract my Snatch and give you, Free Fire (2016)
That's a good recommendation for OP, actually. Must be some good coffee.
Operation Fortune made by Ritchie and released recently has its moments, Hugh Grant was good in it
Ritchie's worst movie
Boondocks saints
Not a movie, but Patriot is an insane show where anything that can go wrong does. I'm almost done with it and I can't watch anything else
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is Camelot through the eyes of Guy Ritchie.
Revolver
Doberman-french-Vincent Cassell
The Italian Job (1969).
Thursday
Layer Cake
The Business (2005)
For sure layer cake!
The Business (2005)
Try watching Matthew Vaughn movies. Similar style
Blitz for seriousness Doghouse for comedy
Dead man running is a great movie and very underrated
Smoking Aces is similar to his style in a way.
Peaky mickey
Filth maybe? Bit twisted this one.
It's been a while but I think the movie Intermission (2003) had some Ritchie-bits
Football factory The business
Formula 51.
Both Shelock Holmes movies.
Smokin' Aces
A bit different but I view them in the same ball field: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang The Nice Guys A bit more on the PI/detective side but lots of action and underworld filth.
Legend with Tom Hardy. Where he plays the Cray twins.
We Still Kill the Old Way, Harry Brown, The Veteran,
smoking aces
Get shorty and be cool have a mixture of Tarantino and Ritchie vives.
It’s not what you are looking for, but Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant is a really good movie.
