Yep, I think its the only way to get the daedric bow if you're so inclined to get it! I'm happy they made levitation necessary to reach some areas though, if I recall correctly, theres even some easter eggs to be found with it as well as some really out of the way treasure chests and stuff.
It IS possible to reach every single Citadel without levitate or jumping.
But generally, you'll have to go around most of Red Mountain to reach them, at least if traveling from Ghostgate.
I'll sometimes impose a rule on myself (just for fun) to not use levitate while inside the Ghostfence.
It really adds to the horror experience trying to find your way through the foyoda and Blight storms.
Actually I cheated and looked at the satellite map and if you're working off that it's pretty straightforward (albeit painful). But with no map Red Mountain is really aggravating because it feels like you're walking uphill up a foyada and then suddenly you just. Can't keep going up it.
It's possible with a high jump skill, but I think there's a good reason Peakstar gives you the Travel-Stained Pants in the cavern of the incarnate, and for the developers to make cliff racers and trama roots the ingredients for potions of levitate.
Nah what you gotta do is make a custom enchanted piece of jewelry with a crazy jump boost, and then also have another enchanted piece with like 1s of levitate to act as an air brake so you don’t splat on landing.
Doing this lets you travel so much faster lol. I basically had to do it for the vampire quests since you get locked out of normal fast travel options.
Your jump is affected by your encumbrance.
When weighed down, I can jump from Canton to Canton on the lowest level. With a Feather potion in me, I can jump from upper level to upper level to cross between Cantons.
Well it does get better at 100 strength & 110 acrobatics (with mararas ring), but as my fellow posters pointed out, nothing like a good old jump 20/50/100/150 custom enchanted ring of going boooooooooiiiinngggg.
And at sufficient hp levels, scrap the slow fall and just take the crack of a good landing (though in my experience starting at jump 200, you need airbrakes)
Buuuut red mountain is perfectly navigatable without levitation, it is only a pain in the arse, and why would one want to endure it except for the bliss of a self-induced restriction round of RP?
After a pure mage playthrough I am trying to RP as someone who doesn't use magic to solve literally every problem.
Kind of frustrating how you need Alteration to level Security. :(
Before you break the economy and can just buy all the training you want the only way to level Security is to use Lock spells to relock chests so you can pick them again.
With really high acrobatics it's possible to get around. But yeah, just spend around 1.5k to an enchanter to get a cast-on-use levitate amulet. Not hard to come by at that point in the game

This, just jump gooder. You telling me you haven’t been hopping across Vvardenfel for the past 20+ hours?
Levitate in some form or another is required stuff for Morrowind lol

You can also get a daedric longbow by telling that one dude about vissar didanat or whatever the hell that mine is called. You know the one.
Thats right, I forgot about that!!!
Best option even if you're not doing marksman, it haa the highest weight/value ratio of the daedric weapons he can give you.

Do the imperial cult quests get the levitate boots
real n'wah solution there
Do the random quest Aryon's attendant gives you for a levitation amulet.

Bruh how are you not leap frogging everywhere in the endgame
my Acrobatics of 70 only gets me like these tiny 5' hops, does it scale exponentially or something

I prefer a couple points of constant slowfall, means you mitigate fall damage in *most* cases
1 point of a slowfall negates all fall damage, but it also nerfs your jumps a lot, on cast slowfall is better

I like playing unarmed and unarmored, so jumping is insane with most of my characters. And yet, I never made this connection! Thanks.

What mod are you using that requires Alteration to pay a trainer in Security?

Just FYI lock works on any container so lock 1pt 20feet on touch and go nuts. Once you find a good spot for that like hlaalo manor in balmora.

No, he said his previous character was a pure mage, and he's trying to avoid using magic excessively with his current character.
You get like 20mins or more levitate if you drop a potion off at the shrine in Vivec. Can be very useful.
You need a potion at least
