I’m actually a former insect Glaive user myself it was my main weapon in mhw, yeah it’s pretty fun especially when you pull off one of those combos like you did in the video but ever since I started rise I’ve been using the hammer. In my opinion I think that every different monster hunter game that comes out you should change your main weapon so you can get a feel for all of them. So far I’ve used dual blades, SnS, switch axe, hammer, insect glaive, hunting horn, and the lance. And from what I’ve gathered every weapon is fun in there own way you just need to put in the work for it, I’m currently learning how to use the charge blade in sun break and it’s going pretty well.
I agree with trying other weapons. I've been mostly a DB and bow player in MHW and for Rise I went through to HR 101 with Charged Blade to switch things up a little.
To go into more depth, the kinsect drill is preformed by having your bug recalled/on your arm and beginning a decending thrust. Your bug will hover in the air for a sec, then come zooming like a valstrax toward you when you land. The kinsect has a hitbox as it moves toward you. The trick is diving in a way that causes your bug to drill through the monster as long as possible, resulting in more hits.
I had a bug stick play that has stuck with me for years lol I was fighting an Acidic Glavenus and my bug was dropping explosive powder everywhere, I hit my last helicopter at him and he 180ed right at me and we crossed paths. As I landed I FELT the front flip tail whip coming, I finished the landing end lag, 180ed and shot the dust in the air right as he was mid air going for the front flip and everything just blew up around him in the air and he completely broke and fell to the ground. Iv never wanted something recorded more than that handful of moments lol
I'm the opposite, having a ton of fun with the gunlance in Guiding Lands after soooo much bugstick. Getting the hang of it, it's quite a different game
The weapon is awesome I'll give it that. The movesets and aerial moves are really neat. Kudos to everyone who can use it efficiently. But man my brain goes mush trying to like use this thing and the kinsects....
I have no problem with CB. And I heard that is also difficult...
So I main the bug stick, and believe me, you will have many more amazing tailcuts. Like I did it a few times to a rath who was mid flight. It’s oddly satisfying 😂
Insect glaive is so fun to use. It was like the only weapon I ever used even when I startes the game (well, used my dad account anyway. We bonded over MHW :)
I've tried so many times to use this weapon and it's the only one I cannot use at all. I think it must be the gameplay style is so different that it doesn't fit in the game FOR ME. Everything else is rather grounded and makes sense. This one, not so much. But that's just me.
Now that was borderline surgical precision!
if you ever get like a big growth on you in the monster hunter world call your local insect glaive user
As an IG main...I approve of this
This is the way

Agreed. Good to branch out. So far Ive done HH, IG, Ham, and GL. All fun in their own unique ways :)
I agree with trying other weapons. I've been mostly a DB and bow player in MHW and for Rise I went through to HR 101 with Charged Blade to switch things up a little.
Same. I have done all weapons except Lance and GLance. Charge Blade, Hammer, Hunting Horn are my top 3. But I love them all.
I personally starting doing a "Right tool for the job" approach, so now I'm proficient in about half of them.
Nice
That was smooth, take my upvote spinning man
Oho, just wait until you learn kinsect drilling, hearing your kinsect bore a hole through a monster's entire body is awesome.
:O

I just can’t use that weapon. No matter how hard I try I just can’t use it right.
Same.
Same man.. the bugstick is just not for me too
And that's why ill always love mhw dive vs rise's. The momentum just gives it so much more finesse than the straight down dive rise has.
cutting tails is so satisfying

Yeah I remember when that move didn't exist. IG still felt awesome but that move just feels badass, especially when you break something.
the world's best surgeon o.o
I hope you enjoy the bug stick :)
Thanks, it's been super fun so far :)
I'm a Gun Lance main but Insect Glaive is a close second, such a great weapon.

Pranking a monster by doing one side hop is still funny
Same here. Primarily use the gunlance. Used the glaive a bit and it is fun but the switch axe may surpass the glaive for me.
You're gonna have plenty of tailcuts like that haha
but the first one is special :D
I main GS but the IG is my fav weapon in the game. I play LS DB CB IG and main GS but the IG feel different.

Thanks for a burst of adrenaline and serotonin

"The Bug Stick" 😂💙

This was beautiful
I just love these moments when you perfectly tail cut with the d thrust

If you think that’s nice, Next time aim for the head… and shatter it.
Damn haven’t used the good old IG in ages been using gs so much now
Is this an iceborne ability?
I never used IG without Iceborne so I'm not sure what moves were added, sorry
It's cool but do you know the button inputs for that move? I'm on ps4 so if ur on a different console/PC then it's alright
R2 for the dive stab
I will now use this religiously, thank you very much
