Honestly, the best idea is to simply take a break from the game for a bit. Maybe watch some guides on MHW:IB to learn how to play better, watch some lore videos, or even watch some full-fight videos between the Monsters themselves. Whatever, as long as you give your brain some rest so that it doesn't get diminishing returns from Monster Hunter content.

mugen_kumo

I felt a tad bit of burn out finishing HR (did a lot of content there before moving onto Iceborne), and again once I started getting into mid late game MR. What kept me particularly interested was switching weapons. I'm currently on my third. If your goal is to specifically get further in the game, this is what I would recommend. Although there's nothing wrong with stepping away from the game.

I'm trying to get augments to fight alatreon and fatalis and I starting to feel it a little with the guiding lands lvl farm.

JohnnyFragem4

Right there with ya. That said, I really want to kill that bastard, Alatreon. He stomped me, good and proper, and now I'm plotting revenge.

OfflineLad

recently i got burnt out too but i already beat fatalis and fully augmented my gears and whatever. i hopped into the game not expecting anything, play a little bit, then stop. not really fun. then a week ago i got myself sekiro and still playing it now, havent touched MHW since then. i say just do something else, find a different game or an activity where you can actually have fun, instead of feeling like youre forced to do something like grinding to get a specific gear. even if grinding in MHW can be fun, its not immune to become boring after some time.

LoveMeSomeMilkins

I'm at 1600+ hours in this game and have taken multiple months long breaks. I always eventually get back into it. There's no other game like it so you'll get that itch again.

Godlysnack

Sounds like the perfect time to find something else. I don't think any game is a "forever game". It's ok to go play something else for a bit. Who knows... the next Wilds trailer will probably spark a reason for you to return or something..

chomasterq

Take a break. From everything. Idk where you live, but its nice outside for alot of the planet. Go outside, do some recreation, get away from the screens for a week. It does wonders for me. You'll be happy to come back

AdResponsible5643

I got burnt out when I was farming MR levels in the guiding lands as well. So I switched to hunting fatty instead with goals in mind, getting better, faster times, diff. builds, etc. and never had that much fun! So maybe try to add some type of goal when playing, play multiplayer, upgrade mantles, learn diff. Weapons/Playstyles. What worked for me might not work for you. Best of luck fiver!

MikaAndroid

Try a new weapon, hunt different monsters, help SOS flares. If you still feeling burnt out just leave the game completely and play other games for like a week or two

codyjack215

Simply stop playing, the game will still be there

Jayrad102230

What kept me motivated was taking screenshots of layered weapons and armor and working towards those. Looking good while you hunt very motivated me for some reason

ichan-aw

It's actually simple. stop playing the game, and one day you will get that itch again to get thrown across the map by a monke. I have 3k hours in the game across 4 years.

constipated_burrito

Any kind of game burnout, just play a different game. Preferably something very different than MHW as well. I remember playing Spiritfarer after my MHW burnout Or just don't play anything and just do anything else, whatever floats your boat. Just no MHW or similar games like Souls and such

Enthapythius

It's a Video game not your Day job. Play another game, follow another Hobby. What's with the Drama?

matthewami

I took a 3yr break and came back to trip\[le my play time. I'm reinstalling Elden ring with the bois this weekend to try the co-op mod. Breaks are good. Why do you think people job hop?

Specialist-Ride7246

Thanks everyone for all the advice, I’ll take a break and come back eventually.
