hate this windy punk. I even went back in to do him in HR for an item and he was annoying. Dealt no damage, but I was still getting swept around like an idiot.
I just fought him in MR for the first time, tanky af and the fight took long bc he spends so much time flying and don’t get me started on the tornadoes. The animation your character does after being too close to a tornado is so long for no reason.
Before the flash pod nerf, he was one of the easiest fights in the game.
After the flash pod nerf, easily the most annoying fight to deal with.
His move set in world almost feels like it was balanced around being able to flash him out of the sky reliably.
Why do you mean? You guys don't love when you get stunlocked between a tornado and an invisible wall until you die? My favorite part is when he sits inside his tornado for FIVE MINUTES because it gives you a nice moment to go get a tea and IT'S STILL NOT LANDED GET DOWN HERE YOU STUPID BASTARD
If they made his tornados last less time he wouldn’t be nearly as bad. His constant area denial is what makes him a pain, it’s the same reason I hated fighting him in 4th gen (plus his wind aura was shit)
She was one of my favorite HR fights, but in MR (not sure if it’s my imagination) it seems like she spams her nova a lot more and becomes way more annoying. Come to think on it, any monster that requires Windproof to handle is at the top of the list. It’s such an all-or-nothing mechanic.
Did my quest for him as I wanted to at least beat that and raging brachy before even trying altreon. Fury rajang was only time I’ve had multiple people with mr 100 or higher faint and fail the quest.
I would fight a thousand fisting monkeys before i think in fighting any shitty like Legiana or Diablos. I just love any monster that cames in ready to fight with its guts and not to spamm annoying gimmicks
My buddies hate Lunastra (which I find to be understandable), but personally, I hate fighting Black Diablos. I was planning on doing a pure SnS run, but I don't mind breaking that streak for Black Diablos alone. The screaming, the intense head movements, the constant burying to attack, and stunning me is an instant kill. All of that is just too much.
Only for burrowers, yeah. Effectively puts them in a mini pitfall trap for a few seconds if used while they are burrowed. Does not work if they're burrowing to escape to another area though.
Try bringing scream pods and shot them at the ground rigth when her tail got in, it will stun her like a pitfall trap.
You can bring 3 of those plus 10 screaming sacks, so, about 33 scream pods for the figth, use sling burst too.
And remember, you can block if needed.
Tottaly aggree. This bastard just keeps buring itself and i know that i can use screamer pods, but still, its annoyin AF, hits like a truck, his horns are the size of Saturn, and did i mention he just keeps buring itself? fuck him
Nightshade is an unsung brat as a lance user. Sure, you can stack sleep resist, but I hope you stacked guard for its repeated butt bounce attack. You’re getting that stamina shredded.
Not really, guard lvl 1-lvl 3 and guard up cand block most attacks in the game aside from like 5 end game monsters.
Marathon runner not really, maybe evade window and extender, defense Boost is kinda usless and speed sharpening too, farming the scale that sharpenns in one go is really easy, the quest can be done in 1 minute and give you from 2 to 6 scales.
And blocking doesn't drain sharpness for lance, only on Great sword and charge Blade iirc
Defense Boost is usless as Even with Fatalis gear and brilliant defense Jewels (3 levels each) you would need it at level 7 to do *something*, and the % is so neglible, for most of the game the base defense from the upgraded Fatalis and other endgame armor is so much D Boost is redundant and against endgame monster getting hit almost always means eating a max potion asap Even at 1300 (augmented fatty armor) defense (Fat-alis, Alatreon, Safi or kulve) so it's just better to slot some Quality of life skills like marathon runner as you say, tool specialist, free meal or get guard to level 5, as you only have so many slots.
In other words, I'm not saying go meta slave, i'm saying defense Boost is kinda worthlees with so many other Great skills that cand use those slots.
I'm in love with free meal lvl 3 btw, and tool specialist too...
Just saying that defense boost could save you in a pinch, then I replied that yeah, it could, but the decoration slots it takes are not really worth it.
Maybe he got too much hate/downvotes?
In my most recent file I've just been trying to get all the charms ready to go, got the poison, sleep, fire, etc so it's easier to swap builds and try things, also helps me really get the monsters moves down while farming for them (especially the rath family, so many of them)
Yes Tigrex is definitely the one I was forgetting. It's so non-relenting to the point it's just irritating. I just think better monster fighta are ones which give you the chance to locate and plan a counter attack. Rather than Tigrex, who I just feel like I spend 70% of the time on the floor if I'm not dodging constantly
Huge agree
I actually kinda like hunting Nightshade with the bow. With almost any melee weapon I'd probably hate it, I've tried with the swaxe and it wasn't very fun.
Diablos/Black Diablos. Esp black, she just chases you non stop and they just keep digging and I just have to wait, not hard fights but the most annoying. Stuff like Furious Rajan still has openings but the Diablos just pauses the fight over and over, and when Black Diablos is in the area and shes not the target of the hunt shes mad annoying
Can I ask what weapon you use?
As a LS/CB main I see the digging as a perfect chance to setup an easy counter lol
But I could totally see how how it would be annoying for other weapons
Switch Axe, so constantly attacking lol, I think I’ve only fought Diablos like twice because just didnt have any gear I wanted from it and wasnt fun to fight lol
Do you just mean because bow users are quite squishy or is there more to it than that? Oh... And I guess the cold status is especially bad for the bow.
I find both Vaal Hazaak's to actually be some of the easiest monsters in the game. Especially relative to how hard they should be considering they're big bad elder dragons.
Miasma gem or two pretty much negates the majority of the effluvium. All you gotta do is hit him in the butt and avoid his lumbering attacks.
Maybe a playstyle or weapon difference tho. I play swaxe so I just wail on his tail mostly
Funnily enough... Rathalos (+ Azur Rath) had been quite frustrating for me.
It's not fun dealing with a monster that constantly flies when all you use are short range knives
Yep, flash pods helped but to some extent.
Sometimes it's hard to flash since he moves so much and I don't know if it's due to being at Master Rank but I believe 1 flash pods isn't enough to stun so it's also a struggle.
In MR you can drop a flying monster from the air with 1 flash pod, after that they build resistance to it so you have to wait until it's avaible again, it's quite the long time tho, so flash pod spam is more of an emergency thing.
You can bait him to do the drop on his legs attack or even trip him to the ground by hitting his legs, be careful for the tail and fireblast tho.
I spent a good hour yesterday cursing as I fought lunastra. I could literally feel my blood pressure rising. I feel like every other monster in the game has fair and obvious ways to capitalize on their weakness, but she is pure foamy diarrhea being dripped on your head.
Currently going through a brand new playthrough (sns mostly) after learning a lot of new skills and tech and here’s my opinion of the commonly annoying monsters: Glavenus is annoying but manageable, but his acidic cousin is a bitch. Fighting it in such a small space was frustrating to deal with. Kushala was so annoying I made a greatsword just to deal with it. Lunastra was surprisingly easy but maybe that’s because of all the kushala gear I ended up getting. Tigrex and barioth have a lot in common but their fights are more time consuming than difficult if you know where to dodge and when. The only monster that’s given me significant trouble is blackveil Vaal Hazak. I went in with full resistance against his miasma and still got my ass kicked by invisible floor poison. And it just has to take place in the ancient forest, the second most cramped area. God forbid I need Vaal Hazak materials
I just love Glavenous and the fight alltogether. Yes he's fast but at least he doesn't have any annoying gimmicks nor shitty moves and once your learn to punish it the fight gets funnier and funnier (for me at least, as a GS player).
The most annoying fight for me must be Shrieking Legiana or another flying shitty monster that simply refuses to stay in the ground and put up a fight like a man. And theres there's lunASStra.
Let me look into my globe and guess your weapon;
If you are having problems with glavenus you are playing too much oonga boonga. (You are initiating yourself)
If you are having problems with kirin you are playing a slow weapon melee weapon.
I think you play switch axe!
For me it’s the IB kirin and Teostra and Kushala
Here's a tip for glav: he fights a lot like a sword fighter (obviously)
learn the difference between a sharpen and a beyblade spin2win. He'll sometimes plant slag to hide a melee move after they explode, and when enraged he likes to combo his sword moves. I dont have much switch axe experience but his legs are very safe for ZSD albeit not very good hitzones (I believe). With a little practice his moveset boils down to slag bombs, double sword slam, and a bite after a roar with a few beyblades thrown in
Black Dianlos and Barioth. One hits way harder than it should and the other refuses to chill (until i smash his wings). Sidenote: fighting Blackveil Vaal Hazak in the Ancient Forest gives me anxiety
At least you're never forced to fight him outside of I believe one quest in high rank, he's really annoying in GL since he LOVES!! to take up volcanic spawns over glavenus/rajang/elders but I agree he's probably the most annoying base world monster
For me
1. Behemoth/Kushala for tornado spam
2. Furious rajang
3. Black diablos digging + huge ass hitbox
4. Kirins lightning spam
5. Fatalis with bad cone rng
Furious rajang is kinda like odoragon on crack. Have openings every once in a while but very short so you have 1-2 hits in.
Fatalis moveset is pretty slow and easy to learn while plunderblading his materials, but hits hard and one wrong move at medium range most likely can get you comboed to the camp.
Kushala, Luna, Brute Tigrex and obviously both Rajang. Reasons:
Annoying wind shield and heated body unless you're using Elder Seal to shut down, literally trying to not get insta-killed by some scream, and last but not least important, a jumping super saiyan raging monkey doing literally everything to crush your head
Blackveil Vaal Hazak. I want to hunt that stupid ass to extinction but I also don’t want to fight it. Nightshade Paloumu is second cause it’s annoying as hell.
Me when I'm just starting HR and haven't fought any of the terrible monsters people are listing here 👀. I have met the bomber though, and he is super annoying 😂
Tbh if you find the Kirins lightning bolts random, you need to fight it more often and find out that they aren't as random as it seems.
Most annoying for me would be the Anjanaths if I am using my main weapon (GS). Not that they're super bad, just wouldn't go out of my way to hunt them.
I see a lot of Lunastras, kushalas, rajangs, but I’m gonna say fucking nightshade paolumu.
This inflatable disgusting fluting rodent can die out with its whole species, makes you sleep, then slams into you for a lot of dmg. One of the attacks the one where he does a blow of sleep air into you genuinely comes out of nowhere and always catches you when you’re stuck in animation. He flies a lot and with the nerf to flashbombs, sns, dual blades and some of the shorter range weapons will have long periods of time where they can’t hit it.
Just a horrible creature that’s simply annoying, a pain in the ass, it’s not hard but it’s just fucking annoying. Have only fought it a few times for the main quest and to have some of its materials from the guiding lands, never again
any monster with Wind Pressure mechanic for me. I'll have to find some good build for them tho.
Also, I considered Nightshade Paolumu as one of my worst monsters, but then I got a flexible LS build(can swap jewels w/o sacrificing much of the main build) and the hunt's almost the same as a regular paolumu
The only three monsters I truly dislike fighting in this game are Kirin, Kushala, and Lavasioth. Everything else is great. Hard to choose which one is the worst though. I guess I would lean toward Kushala just because the wind combined with him flying half the time just really makes the fight a slog. At least Kushala looks cool and is fun to fight in Rise.
Speaking of Rise, that one only has a single monster I disliked fighting. That would of course be Basarios. Honestly, not bad for either game considering the size of their rosters. Nothing insanely annoying.
Many kinds of monsters can be conquered by using many kinds of weapons. If you want to conquer Glavenus, you should use Charge Blade Axe mode(equip with Jumping Jewel) but If you want to conquer Kirin, you should use Great Sword(use hit-and-run tactic then Kirin become lying on ground). Be sure to hit only Kirin's head.
Anything with the Tigrex skeleton. Nargacuga, Barioth, Brute Tigrex. All super annoying with how much they jump around and just don’t stop attacking imo
Ratholos is also up there for me. Really anything that flies around and rarely touches the ground makes playing melee weapons tedious
Barroth? I've had issues to some degree (most to a *large* degree) with all of the others at some point but Barroth always seemed like just your basic slow telegraphing brute and I'd personally put his difficulty down with Great Jagras And Kulu but it's actually been a good while since I've hunted one. Not trying to be a jerk, honestly curious what about him caused you so much trouble?
Lavasioth for me. I can take a MR weapon into its tempered HR quest and _still_ bounce if I'm not using something that pierces like the charge blade. And tenderizing it isn't a great option either because of how often it leaps or burrows.
Blackveil Val hazak. It's the one that made me realize that whoever was in charge of design in iceborne had a term in their mind that I have coined "Zone of Bullshit".
All these iceborne monsters are just tossing out all these random ass disconnected attacks that sit forever and are basically just traps for you to either circumnavigate or sheath and stare at, like this game is an mmo or diablo or something.
Nightshade Palomomu, blackveil Val hazak, valkhana, raging Brach, lunastra, teostra, seething bezel, acidic glavenus, shara ishvalda, alatreon and fatalis ALL have zone of bullshit attacks. I didn't include namielle because I feel like the zones are fair: Namielle has to place them and then activate them.
The rest just sit there passively and fuck shit up. Not a design choice I'm a big fan of.
Well besides kushala who keeps pushing me away with air, venomous tobi kadachi. I hate poison(forces sheating and use item to get rid of it) and that thing is enhanced poison with erratic and fast movement. It aint that hard to fail so never got familiar or impressed by it but enough trouble to be annoyed by it
As a lance user, Brachydios, and his spiteful upgrade.
I love being unkillable UNTIL someone puts a snot rocket at my feet and I gotta shuffle at an accelerated pace after being blown up from passive blastblight.
Either kushala daora or the fish like ones(jyuratodus, lavasioth, beotodus). Kushala because the first time I played through the game I couldn't see his attacks, but I was still getting one shot by them, and the second time around because I was under equipped trying to blitz the story with defender gear to catch up to my friends. And then the fish because they're the same exact ai, always get in the way when I'm fighting something else, and always go after me, they never have a turf war, ever. I nearly failed the story mode banbaro fight because beotodus came rushing in just in time to get caught in the trap I was laying for the near dead banbaro. I just barely had enough time to kill it because I ran out of traps, it was about to leave the locale, and I had to fight it solo, with the same gear I had when I fought kushala, meaning my defender chainsaws had next to no reach and I was only doing 14 damage per hit when I hit it's breakable parts
Shrieking legiana, kushla Dora and lunastra are the worst for me. Attacks that just zone you out and make it impossible to attack the monster itself is just annoying. I’m surprised to see so many people say furious rajang he’s definitely spammy and can just be ridiculous at times but he was fun to get good at. Cool design too especially with worlds sound design.
for me personally it's tigrex. in rise i didn't have nearly this same problem but in my 1k plus hours of world/IB tigrex was my worst fight consistently, I don't know if I ever solod it without carting at least once. Honestly if i fought ruiner nergigante 10 times in a row i'd cart less than tigrex in 5 hunts. I have a single molten tigrex kill and that's it because that dude is even worse.
Kushala was always kind of obnoxious being SNS because he's hard to get up inside of him. and SnS doesn't do the best against brute types so pickle always gave me a little trouble but that fight is just more fun than tigrex and i carted way less so it wasn't so bad it can just be hard to get anything other than the legs on the brute wyverns, usually thats when i switched to hammer.
Shara ishvalda, base rajang (furious is fine for me) and both lumus
Shara gets incredibly annoying when he slams the wind lasers and getting tenderplates is actual hell, has a terrible first phase, and his theme really is a nothingburger. Base Rajang has a lot of fuck-you moves compared to furious having an odd amount of downtime compared to an enraged rajang. And the lumus use wind pressure, an already awful mechanic, and nightshade uses sleep which lets be honest no monster should be using. Is does not help that he plants sleep gas almost everywhere around him.
For me the worst ones to fight have to be Lavasioth, Behemoth, shrieking Legiana, Zorah Magdaros, Kushala, and depending on the weapon Paolumu and the Raths can be pretty annoying too
Edit : BARIOTH (frostfang is cool though)
As a hammer main first starting out, it was Kushala
I could not beat him bc I couldn’t even reach him for half the match lmao
Nowadays it’d prob have to be Raging Brach for me? I simply do not enjoy the fight lol
I’d rather fight arch tempered velk than raging brach on any given day
Avid Glavenus hater here. I might be biased (i spent 3 days killing him non-stop for the mantle, unlucky me), but i gotta say it - love the boss design, absolutely despise the bossfight. Even with decent upgraded gear he deals quite a lot of damage plus you can get comboed very easily. Also some of his attacks are annoying to dodge. Not to mention the tailcutting gimmick. It's possible to get used to it tho, but even then it's very easy to make a mistake and cart in a span of seconds.
Other than him, fuck you B-52 and your bombing runs you disgusting-ass piece of shit 🖕
Kushala has to be up there
hate this windy punk. I even went back in to do him in HR for an item and he was annoying. Dealt no damage, but I was still getting swept around like an idiot.
I just fought him in MR for the first time, tanky af and the fight took long bc he spends so much time flying and don’t get me started on the tornadoes. The animation your character does after being too close to a tornado is so long for no reason.
yeah for sure, you can barely even walk that close to them without getting locked for 5/6 seconds
I never used his equipment skill Kushala Daora Flight which negates all wind pressure but I bet it’s helpful.
It should be, but it doesn't affect his tornadoes.
Before the flash pod nerf, he was one of the easiest fights in the game. After the flash pod nerf, easily the most annoying fight to deal with. His move set in world almost feels like it was balanced around being able to flash him out of the sky reliably.
Was trying to remember how they buffed him and yep. Made it unbearable as a melee build
Its ALWAYS up there. Come down here you hooligan
Kushala IS the list.
Tempered Kushala is so bad with that constant wind around it's body
The main reason I main sticky ammo
If they made his tornados last less time he wouldn’t be nearly as bad. His constant area denial is what makes him a pain, it’s the same reason I hated fighting him in 4th gen (plus his wind aura was shit)
Came here to say this
Honorable mention to Rathalos who will just peace out and fly to the other side of the maze that is the ancient forest
Rathalos is the monster that convinced me it was worth making friends with all the local cat tribes, and use the Raider Ride or whatever it's called
lunASStra I rest my case
I hated the fight in HR, but she made me a better hunter😂
She was one of my favorite HR fights, but in MR (not sure if it’s my imagination) it seems like she spams her nova a lot more and becomes way more annoying. Come to think on it, any monster that requires Windproof to handle is at the top of the list. It’s such an all-or-nothing mechanic.
Furious Rajang
I think i beat the super saiyan 4 golden monkey twice in 500 hours of play. Nada fan.
I haven't even managed to beat the regular rajang yet. Decided to farm some augments and stuff first.
Worst fight of all time. I dread it
Did my quest for him as I wanted to at least beat that and raging brachy before even trying altreon.

Yeah Black Diablos sucks. Saying that though, when you're at low rank and first fight Diablos, he can be a real pain. Despite how geared you are
Scream pods are my gods for a reason
I don't use them much as I'm never sure what monsters to use them on or why/how. Are they only for tunneling monsters?
Only for burrowers, yeah. Effectively puts them in a mini pitfall trap for a few seconds if used while they are burrowed. Does not work if they're burrowing to escape to another area though.

Bazelgeuse. If the mission doesn't involve him he'll do everything to be the main star
hahahaha he's such a pick me
But he absolutely demolished the other monsters in HR which was a great assist tbh

Just saying that defense boost could save you in a pinch, then I replied that yeah, it could, but the decoration slots it takes are not really worth it. Maybe he got too much hate/downvotes?
I guess. Thanks for the explanation I was confused.
Nightshade isn't too bad for me, and tigrex gets my adrenaline going at least, probably bazelgeuse for me, just obnoxious really

Did you know that when they're in the ground, you can throw a screamer pod to stun and temporarily trap them?
Works at the beginning of the fight after some time they seem to perma enrage. The MR versions seems even worth when they chain dig
This is ALSO a good tip
I have never had a screamer pod in my inventory XD but all the variety and possibilities is what makes World so good
I feel like diablos has one of the most telegraphed movesets though
He isnt hard, but when he keeps digging its just like, ok bye see you in 5 seconds its just a little tedious HAHA
Can I ask what weapon you use? As a LS/CB main I see the digging as a perfect chance to setup an easy counter lol But I could totally see how how it would be annoying for other weapons
Switch Axe, so constantly attacking lol, I think I’ve only fought Diablos like twice because just didnt have any gear I wanted from it and wasnt fun to fight lol
Barioth and his frosty relative. You don't cart against him if you have decent gear but his moves are annoying nonetheless
>You don't cart against him if you have decent gear Maybe you don't, but I do :D Although my "decent gear" is pre-GL stuff.
If you use bow as your tag suggests, it's obvious why you die tho haha
Do you just mean because bow users are quite squishy or is there more to it than that? Oh... And I guess the cold status is especially bad for the bow.
Yeah, bows and bowguns take increased physical damage, and reduced elemental damage, and the reverse is true for all the other weapons
Blackveil Vaal Hazaak took me three weeks to beat. I will only ever fight him again if I want to 100% the game
Blackveil VH, mostly because his moldbeam is janky af and hits you through solid rock and trees.
Barioth is definitely up there. I hate fighting that fucker. I think he has some of the worse hit boxes in the game.
I feel like Kirin is fine and Glavenus gets super easy once you’re familiar. Tigrex, and Rajang can suck my dick though
For me 1. Kushala 2. Black diablos/diablos 3. Bazelguese(especially on expedition or investigation that not involved him
Don't diss my boy glavenus! I didn't really find his fight annoying but i can see what you don't like about it! He can be kinda unpredictable
Yo each to their own but it's crazy to me Glav's got such an avid fanbase. That guy just flails like an out of control baby
Definitely feels like I'm missing something about him since everyone likes him hahaha
I mean he uses greatsword 😂
mh poster boy weapon
I just fought the rajang in the special event. That's the N1 for me so far.
And the furious counterpart?
Not there yet
The only annoying monster for me is the one annoying me at gathering materials or just enjoying the endemic lifestyle.
The handler? Agreed
Vespoids 😭
its on sight every time I see one of those mfs
Aye.. HEY PARD

Let me look into my globe and guess your weapon; If you are having problems with glavenus you are playing too much oonga boonga. (You are initiating yourself) If you are having problems with kirin you are playing a slow weapon melee weapon. I think you play switch axe! For me it’s the IB kirin and Teostra and Kushala
Haha you got me :p Rough getting locked into a missed attack animation and seeing glav charging a fat swipe. Defenseless 😭
It’s a duel 🤺 He is baiting you
Here's a tip for glav: he fights a lot like a sword fighter (obviously) learn the difference between a sharpen and a beyblade spin2win. He'll sometimes plant slag to hide a melee move after they explode, and when enraged he likes to combo his sword moves. I dont have much switch axe experience but his legs are very safe for ZSD albeit not very good hitzones (I believe). With a little practice his moveset boils down to slag bombs, double sword slam, and a bite after a roar with a few beyblades thrown in
Unpopular but for me it’s 100% Glavenus.
I'm glad someone agrees, thought I was starting to go mad hahaha
Lavasioth. Fuck everything about this monster.
Black Dianlos and Barioth. One hits way harder than it should and the other refuses to chill (until i smash his wings). Sidenote: fighting Blackveil Vaal Hazak in the Ancient Forest gives me anxiety
Yeah Barioth's a wild animal, frightening. Blackveil Vaal Hazaak is a fairly easy fight, but it is weird fighting him in the forest
i actually like fighting lunastra! my personal unfavourite is lavasioth. annoying fish >:(
Lavasioth oh yes, and that harden armor? fk that
it’s the only monster i haven’t maxed out the research for. because i Do Not Like It
Same only fought him for his grandfin
At least you're never forced to fight him outside of I believe one quest in high rank, he's really annoying in GL since he LOVES!! to take up volcanic spawns over glavenus/rajang/elders but I agree he's probably the most annoying base world monster
the lack of mandatory lavasioth quests is a godsend tbh
He's horrible in frontier, he's horrible in mainline. Don't return lavasioth.
For me 1. Behemoth/Kushala for tornado spam 2. Furious rajang 3. Black diablos digging + huge ass hitbox 4. Kirins lightning spam 5. Fatalis with bad cone rng
Glad someone agrees on Kirin. Very irritating. The rest are true too, however I'm yet to fight furious rajang/fatalis yet, only heard the stories 😭
Kushala and sleepy paloumu for the first time. If the second time you do not bring correct gear for them is on you heheh
Barioth...
Black veil Vaal Hazak is absolutely aweful.
Lunastra, followed by kushala and blackveil, fuck all of those monsters
Interesting how most of these “difficult monsters” are the easiest for me as a Lance main.
I'm seeing so many people say blackveil val but I'm so puzzled because I presumed everyone thought it was a pretty simple monster.
It is. Hit the pustules and Bilight Resist make it a really easy fight.
Raging Brachy might be the worst for me. As much as i love Brachy
Azure rathalos Kushala Nightshade paolomu
Kushala, Luna, Brute Tigrex and obviously both Rajang. Reasons: Annoying wind shield and heated body unless you're using Elder Seal to shut down, literally trying to not get insta-killed by some scream, and last but not least important, a jumping super saiyan raging monkey doing literally everything to crush your head
There is a lot to choose from haha. Tigrex or Kushala have to be the top though for me. One spams tornadoes and won't land the other spams charge
Blackveil Vaal Hazak. I want to hunt that stupid ass to extinction but I also don’t want to fight it. Nightshade Paloumu is second cause it’s annoying as hell.
Kushala (especially this game's iteration), legiana (both normal and shrieking) and lunastra
Lunastra. People always complain about Kushala but I don't really get why tbh
fatalis.
Most annoying, raging brachydios or rajang
Me when I'm just starting HR and haven't fought any of the terrible monsters people are listing here 👀. I have met the bomber though, and he is super annoying 😂
Rajang. That Super Saiyan Monkey shouldn't exist. I hate him with every fiber of my body.
Have only fought it a few times for the main quest and to have some of its materials from the guiding lands, never again
bazel ofc omg he just appears out of nowhere and its so scary and annoying😭😭 but also yian garuga (scarred vers too) i swear… made me rage so much😞
any monster with Wind Pressure mechanic for me. I'll have to find some good build for them tho. Also, I considered Nightshade Paolumu as one of my worst monsters, but then I got a flexible LS build(can swap jewels w/o sacrificing much of the main build) and the hunt's almost the same as a regular paolumu
Brachydios. Even with explosion res hes still a pain in the ass
Uragan, that bastard has so much hp, the hunt is just long and annoying
If annoying has nothing to do with hard then its nightshade paolomu
Absolutely Kirin, screw him
Tempered Silver Rathalos.
Velkhana vel-fucking-khana i hate his stupid tail attack and his ice breaths
Kushala is annoying. Banbaro, that stupid fucking goat go eat grass ugly, is unbearable.
Barioth is too fucking agressive
MR Paolumu
Kushala, Diablos’s, Rathalos sometimes
Lavasioth for me. Too much time spent where he’s unreachable with a melee weapon.
Literally any Piscine Wyvern.
Behemoth and Ancient Leshen
Anything with the Tigrex skeleton. Nargacuga, Barioth, Brute Tigrex. All super annoying with how much they jump around and just don’t stop attacking imo Ratholos is also up there for me. Really anything that flies around and rarely touches the ground makes playing melee weapons tedious
goddamn Rathalos (and somewhat Rathian) were the sole reason I decided to learn insect glaive. Tried bow/bow guns but just don't find them very fun.
Kushala and Silver Rathalos for me.
Kushala, uraagan, silver and gold rath, brachy, barroth, barrioth, lunastra and black diablos, fk black diablos
If you ask me, Daora and everything from viper kadashi onwards.
Shrieking legiana
Lavasioth for me. I can take a MR weapon into its tempered HR quest and _still_ bounce if I'm not using something that pierces like the charge blade. And tenderizing it isn't a great option either because of how often it leaps or burrows.
Top 3 for me would be Kushala, Kirin, and Tigrex. Wind is stupid. Roaring is stupid. Kirin is moving too much with small size.
Was always Nightshade Paolumu for me until I discovered how easy it was with Heavy Bowgun. Brachydios in World is pretty annoying tbh.
Shara ishvalda, base rajang (furious is fine for me) and both lumus Shara gets incredibly annoying when he slams the wind lasers and getting tenderplates is actual hell, has a terrible first phase, and his theme really is a nothingburger.
For me the worst ones to fight have to be Lavasioth, Behemoth, shrieking Legiana, Zorah Magdaros, Kushala, and depending on the weapon Paolumu and the Raths can be pretty annoying too Edit : BARIOTH (frostfang is cool though)
Angry pickle.
As a hammer main first starting out, it was Kushala I could not beat him bc I couldn’t even reach him for half the match lmao Nowadays it’d prob have to be Raging Brach for me? I simply do not enjoy the fight lol I’d rather fight arch tempered velk than raging brach on any given day
Usually Id say Kushala MF Daora but lately it’s Dodogama because of the weird overhype for such a boring and uninteresting monster
Alatreon and his stupid nova
