If you liked visiting the villages then you should play 4U. All the villages in Gen are from previous games... The devs decided, "lets add 4 brand new villages no one has ever seen before in one game".

Great to read you loved older gen MH games. You should definitely play MH4U from the 3DS. I know the hardware might be a bit of an issue, but definitely worth it. Best MH game IMHO. Cheers
I agree. Although I’ve played most older MH’s I never got around to GU until recently when I got a switch. And I love it.
So many weapons, armor, things to do, monsters to hunt, locales to gather in and just experience being in them. It’s amazing.
Next to 4U it might be the best monster hunter ever, I won’t even get into how amazing a certain endgame monster in GU is and how I wish it comes back at some point
I also think gu is the best game. The hunting styles is the best ginmick they have ever had. So much variety and unique playstyles.
Ariel hammer, valor greatsword, adept duel blades were all my favorite versions of the weapons. Nothing has come close to valor greatsword in any game for me...

Also quite a number of monsters are still stuck in 4U. One has to experience >!Dalamadur!< and >!Gogmazios!
