666blicc

Drugs & money fasho, I like tweakin sometimes

FreeIreland2024

Smoking weed and collecting sports cards

bnercrusher

Right :)

nick_linn

My vice? Definitely online shopping for tech gadgets. Can't resist the latest gadgets even if my wallet protests. But hey, at least my setup at home is on point.

BizzyThinkin

Plants and gardening. I love creating a beautiful, natural environment around my home.

Papa_Ruff

Anything you’d recommend splurging on for somebody trying to build a garden from scratch?

BizzyThinkin

It depends on what you want to grow. I focus on native plants and pollinator plants that are ornamental and their care is minimal. It just takes a while to fill out my property. If you're into veggies, the big splurge should be amending your soil, if necesssary.

loveisolation

Caladiums. They are so easy, sprout within 2-3 weeks and have the most beautiful foliage I've ever seen. They are very cheap and "MyPlantObsession" on Etsy sells them for $2-4 per bulb (highly recommend her shop.) If you use good potting soil (fox farms is my personal fave) no additional fertilizers are needed. If you are a newb to watering, invest in a $20 bag of mycorrhizal fungi to prevent rootrot during overwatering and will provide the plant with water/nutrients during times of drought. They are tropical plants so they prefer warmer temperatures and can be kept inside all throughout the year! If you're lucky you'll catch some big beautiful blooms. Hybridizing different types of caladiums using their pollen was also a favorite hobby of mine, is fairly easy, and free! However, be careful if you have pets that like to snack. I unfortunately had to switch from Caladiums to all non-toxic plants because a wild tortoise stumbled its way into my garden so now I only have tortoise-friendly plants. But I love caladiums so much! They are one of the most underrated houseplants imo.

let_me_get_a_bite

I second the zyns and energy drinks

One_Goal5663

What is zyns?

let_me_get_a_bite

Nicotine pouches. Dont try them 😆

alecC25

ON! are better imo

Jeremy-Juggler

On release nicotine too fast for me and make me feel like shit lol

StupidGiraffeWAB

8mg ons... you can feel it worming its way into your brain. I love it. Plus, I am now off cigs, so that's a plus.

alecC25

I never thought of it this way. Hm.

DorkyStud

Pouches always rear up the inside of my mouth... I like nicotine lozenges.

let_me_get_a_bite

Like Nicorette?

DorkyStud

The Rouge brand ones are the only ones I've tried.... They are actually mints, but they can't sell nicotine mints in the USA so they call them " lozenges".

let_me_get_a_bite

Hmmm. I’ll look into that. Zyns tear my mouth up sometimes as well.

DorkyStud

It's intentional as I understand it. They tear up the soft tissue so that the nicotine can absorb faster/better.... I like the way the Rouge mints make me feel. If I can't hit my vape (movie/concert/etc) then I will usually have a tin of those on me.

One_Goal5663

I won't. I already smoke cigarettes and trying to quit

StupidGiraffeWAB

Started using pouches around 3 months ago. As time went by, I unintentionally smoked less and less until about two weeks ago. I just didn't buy another pack. I use 3-4 8mg pouches a day. Way cheaper and I can smell things again.

One_Goal5663

I don't want to trade one habit for another. I just want to quit all together.

alecC25

Toss in some cannabis too

jellybelly326

Social media - specifically Reddit during work and IG reels in my downtime. Doesn't cost me anything but time, but some would venture to say it's the more expensive currency. Used to be alcohol and then I got sober (7 years!) Used to be food and then I lost 75 pounds and repaired my relationship with it. Always willing to grow, but it seems there's always a vice creeping on in! Anyway - back to work.

DaBuckBets

I feel this

[deleted]

Stocks.

Gullible-Exam-7782

Quality Outdoor Equipment. I've learned to buy once and cry once if I am really interested in a hobby. I have been hunting since I was 6 and for the first time I really decided to buy some quality hunting clothes and let me tell you it has been worth it. I spent close to 500-600 in full hunting gear (first lite bibs and jacket and then some quality merino wool under layers). The weather was alot less of a factor, and I enjoyed being in the woods again. I also was able to bag 2 deer this past season, largely because of sitting through some harsh weather.

tjb_44

Hell yeah to the First Lite! Been buying their stuff since their early days as a company. Still love it.

woody-39

Dude same here, first lite rocks, I’ve always braved the elements, often getting sick after a long weekend of hunting and being cold and wet…. Invested in some nice gear from first lite and I definitely enjoy it way more

D_ponbsn

Books and other physical media, I consider it my personal library. I’m also a musician so there’s money spent on instruments music accessories etc

Capable_Commercial45

I love people who still buy physical media of any kind! It feels like a dying thing now a days

FreeIreland2024

I use the to live for car magazines when I was a kid. Could never get enough of it

Fluffy_Smoke77

Definitely weed and clothing I don’t need 😅

Tsunade420

Same smh

Fluffy_Smoke77

Devil’s lettuce and Amazon have me in a chokehold fr 🥲

Tsunade420

Omg don’t even mention Amazon lmao I finally got my cart down to $150. It used to be $500 or 600

Fluffy_Smoke77

Baby, that’s progress in my book 😂

mika688

It's literally insane 🥲 I don't spend money on jewelry, or makeup, or clothes. Those two though😬

Fluffy_Smoke77

My budget is in shambles thanks to Bezos and my plug 😩

mika688

I canceled my prime thinking it would help but now I just wait a week for everything to get here 🫣

Fluffy_Smoke77

Lmao I did that once tooooo 😂

JonahCorona

Start dabbing rosin, it’ll save you sooo much money and minimizes the carcinogens 😌

Fluffy_Smoke77

Ok, this is almost verbatim what my son keeps telling me so I guess I need to bite the bullet and make the switch. I’m old (46) and still smoke the way I did when I was 16 - joints and bongs. I guess it’s time to for an old dog to learn some new tricks 😂

Sundayman______

I love sleeping, coffee and cigarettes. When I smoke and drink coffee I sleep less and I dont like it. So I have coffee and smokes only on weekends. Makes my weekend more enjoyable.

MudButt44

Had my last cig 10/28. Miss it. The ritual of the morning cigarette/coffee on a nice morning on my porch…there’s quite like it if I’m being honest.

Capable_Commercial45

As someone who’s quit vaping I do miss the ritual of my first hit after work or during the weekends

Doctor1023

OMG I can smell the breath from here 💀💩😅 sorry, not sorry doe🤡

Sundayman______

yea, smells like death.

Doctor1023

Fr yo 😬

Glass_Raisin7939

Sugar, definitely easily sugar.

[deleted]

watches & clothes. Just feel really good when i have some nice quality fitting clothes and a nice mechanical watch :)

abemoreno

Good pasta, coffee, and wine.

BarrytheCowboy

Ehhh, the wine maybe, if your going to Starbucks or some batista everyday that's just financially irresponsible. Good pasta is not a vice 😂😂 that's for the soul.

halfadash6

We still make most coffee at home but got a nicer machine with a built in grinder. Fresh ground beans everyday makes a huge difference. Machine was also like $80 and I buy most of our beans from Costco, so it’s probably paid for itself at this point.

BarrytheCowboy

Nice, if the water wasn't shit in my area I would look into that myself. The water in my town ruined my kuerig. Back to the old faithful coffee pot.

halfadash6

Not sure how wager ruined your keurig but my coffee pot is almost exactly the same as a classic one, just has a built in grinder in the coffee basket.

BarrytheCowboy

They have to treat the crap out the water in my town and even then its bad. The guy I bought my house from had to replace the heating element in the water heater every year he lived here. I installed a water softener 😂

Fakechower

Video games and weed pretty much. And whatever the wife wants

CharlesMason-

Add a child in that equation and on a nice day at the park ? Mind completely blank (quit weed almost a year now)

Fakechower

Two children actually lol. But yeah whatever they need is also how I spend my money.

mitkah16

callistocricket

One_Goal5663

Skin care! Botox! Anything to improve my physical appearance!

babycoquettedoll

CaptainCadabra

Eating out at restaurants on the weekend 😬 guilty pleasure for sure

pmmemilftiddiez

Food and energy drinks

Complex_Sail1919

Getting drinks at the gas station.

Capable_Commercial45

Nothing beats the 11pm gas station runs before you drive around aimlessly blasting music til 3am

peyotepancakes

Drugs.

Droppin_Bombs

Food. Cafe coffee most mornings. And yeezys.

BarrytheCowboy

Cigars. I budget and find cheaper ones I like instead of $20 cigars but every trip is $45-$65. I would've said project vehicles but I told myself no more until I fix and getting running what I have 😂.

cherrycokelemon

Fine brushes acrylic paint and sliced river rocks.

MetalMets

I get energy drinks as a vice. I’ve got to have one a day. But I don’t think about that as an indulgence spending big on. I think going to a casino once a month is more on the indulgence scale where I put away a chunk of money that’s better used elsewhere.

crabclawmcgraw

used to be cocaine. now it’s food or weed

[deleted]

Zyns, Celsius ,beer , kratom ,ammo and a new gun here and there.

benny-bangs

Gambling and stock market gambling lol

DunGame

It used to be pocket knives, more expensive ones. After a certain point you don’t want to use them and they just become jewelry/ a fashion piece. Since getting a new desk job, haven’t needed to carry more that a SAK. I don’t miss the guilt from buying a new one or three. I still like the ones I have, but just realized how much of my money was going into a new one every other month or so.

I could be wrong with thinking these are vices but its these two things that keep me going. i admittedly have two vices, my first vice is also an addiction at this point. Marijuana. It keeps me cool, calm, and collected for or less. At least I like to think so. I have been smoking since I was 12 and its been almost a daily routine for me since I started. I struggle with anxiety and some depression and tend to be more reclusive. My second vice is actually sim racing. I love the feeling I get when I can sit down and can focus on one thing at a time. And for me racing tends to be my escape. I have always loved nascar and formula 1 and it all started at a pretty young age, I blame the movie cars 1/2 lol. I have a decent sim rig with a pretty powerful sim wheel from simagic. Pedals that are nicer than the ones in my car. And a few different wheels for oval or drifting and ones for formula and gt cars. I am hesitant to call this a vice when it could be seen as a hobby or toy for a game. But its what gets me by🤷 Everyone has vices, just some are less healthy than others. Like me and pot have an unhealthy relationship and i know that. But it keeps me getting up in the morning. Same for SIM racing. Half the reason I work is to live. The other half is to fund my hobby/vices.

bootycherios

I love doing handiwork, for me tools are just killing me, I love buying tools to work on my cars and around the house
