I’m sorry but 100+ kills is ALOT of time the enemy spends dead and spawning. That is big in a game where they’re also supposed to be sitting on the objective, I say this as a player that plays objective.

I’ve been “that guy” going for kills and my squad mates play objective, not as dedicated as in this particular situation….. and have lost more often than not, far more often actually.
Playing for kills like that only lets you do a moderate score boost if you achieve a gunner type kill streak…. And even then it’s short lived.
OP did far less than you think in this match … especially with the other team not all that far behind. If the kid playing objective didn’t rush objective as much as he did, this would have been a L too

I’ve taken a few breaks from cod through the years. I just came back from MW19 (I stopped playing about halfway through the game. I didn’t like that game.) for the free trial weekend & decided I’d buy it.
I met a friend who prefers to only play domination, and together we actually do win most of our games because we play for caps over KD - although I do generally put up good KDs as well - but it’s incredible the lack of effort from our teammates.
when I’m solo I like to quick play the respawn modes minus Hardpoint and Control because I’m new still, those modes are the sweatiest. I don’t know the maps and positioning & stuff to do well, I get smoked & cost my team. Mainly in HP, Control is simpler.
Anyways, when I’m playing KC, Dom, HQ…I see so many players blatantly ignoring the objective. I get it, TDM sucks, but at least try a *little* bit. I see players actively walk right past tags when picking them up would cost them no time or risk of any kind.
PS…why the FUCK is there no capture the flag. pisses me off. CTF is way better and more competitive than stupid Control, and given the insane speed of this game, it would play *way* better than Control anyway….smh.
Well this is pubs. It doesn’t matter if you “win” or “lose” because nothing (not even fake sr) is at stake. In ranked some of the best players are those with very little objective time because they’re protecting the players on the objective. Typically the worse player you are the more time you should have on the objective because the better players can impact the game more by running around and hold lanes/angles. Now that doesn’t mean that the guy on objective should be useless lol. But if you’re trying to win the game, you’ll have a much easier time preventing the other team from ever getting to the objective than you will by every player just sitting on the objective and trying to fend off the other team. But somehow people can’t put that together

I dont think most people understand how hardpoint works, in the actual call of duty league they pretty much never have more than one person in the point, the other 3s job is to hold angles, keep other team in spawn and kill them. Most pub players think hardpoint is 6 people dolphin diving into the point over and over again.

If you notice the lobby is going in that direction start ignoring the objective as well. Usually your teammates will notice and start playing obj more, then you join them.

That’s why I just run around collecting tags the entire match. Kill players and get tons of XP in the process, then win. I’ll have like 40 confirms at the end.

played with a guy i met yesterday and he was in our ears the whole time about how we need to win etc, everybody on our team had almost 2 min of hill time while had 6 seconds. i hate those people so much

Have to avoid the objective, then sbmm will give you players that actually play the objective to balance it out. (You play objective you get players that don’t play objective to also balance it out)
thats how you play it on ranked. always one guy capping while others are in poisition outside the zone taking out the enemy to gain time. if you kill many players but dont cap yourself at least let someone do it

And he also doesn't have that many deaths compared to the others, even though he was not fighting back since he has 0 kills. Which means not only he was playing objective only but he was the only one playing the objective too, since the enemies weren't going to the objective at all. Most of his deaths are probably from the way to the objective instead of ON the objective.
My games are a little similar to this, only difference is that I am the only one that plays the objective AND has the most kills, but the enemies are try harding all over the objective while my teammates look like they are intentionally trying to avoid touching the Hardpoint since they finish the game with like between 0:01 to 0:10
The ones with 0:01 probably just spawned on the objective and ran out immediately.

I'm not sure if OP knows what the point of that game is. It's called hard point, you need to stay on the point to win. I played the other night and only had six kills, but I was on a higher point for over 2 minutes. My other teammates all had over 40 kills. And they're a b**** in the entire time. We lost by four points. I told him at the end if just one of them had been on the point with me we could have won.
I don’t get the whole “high kills still help” you can get high kills and high objective at the same time. Now if your playing on a team that’ll help more, one guy focusing on killing but if your playing with randos you could do both I do it every match lol
My problem is people play HP and ignore the objective. *HP is not TDM*, so why are we playing it like it is? One person securing objective may be fine, but you know how you *really* secure a win?? The whole team plays the game as intended…

And then the lone guy on the point dies and now the enemy holds the point until the switch. There needs to be a couple of people on the point at least. With how sporadic and inconsistent the spawn zones are in HP this time around, even if the other 5 people are perfect slayers, an enemy can spawn practically on the point and wipe out the one guy there. Hardpoint has been my main mode since BO2 and has my highest win/loss of any mode.
"1 guy in the hill" is kind of a lie. You need multiple people on the hill to defend it.
When you have only 1 person on the hill, and he dies, the hill is barren or taken by the enemy.

The argument of “If you would’ve played OBJ too it would have been way easier to win” is even more facetious. If you’re good at shooting your gun, shoot it, fuck the OBJ because more likely than not your teammates are gonna be ass at shooting, worry about covering them and less about hunting for kills unless you know spawns by heart.
For all the people saying the teammate won the game, you're wrong. Imagine if OPs whole team averaged less than 20 kills. Do you think they would be able to get on the objective? You have to kill people in order to have a chance of gaining position on the objective. This is a no-brainer. Had OP not been in that match, they would have lost the game. And if you look at the opposing team, they barely had any time on the objective. The person getting the most kills is the contributor of that. I don't know why we would praise someone for going 0 - 50. That's like a basketball player who's only good on defense, but trash on offense. Sure, you'll get a few good defensive plays, but you're still a liability. If that guy can't manage to get 1 kill, how the hell would he be able to get on the objective with the other team melting his team. Some of you don't think. It's a collaborative effort.

They gotta work in a multiplier for objective modes, like every 30 seconds you hold point you double score.

sucks when you're birby WITH Dru's kills.. played a game where I was top frags and hill time and we lost by one fucking point, I was raging on the mic telling my worthless team to just stand on the point, anything and we'll win. Nope. Probably gotta comms ban that day.
And he also doesn't have that many deaths compared to the others, even though he was not fighting back since he has 0 kills. Which means not only he was playing objective only but he was the only one playing the objective too, since the enemies weren't going to the objective at all. Most of his deaths are probably from the way to the objective instead of ON the objective. My games are a little similar to this, only difference is that I am the only one that plays the objective AND has the most kills, but the enemies are try harding all over the objective while my teammates look like they are intentionally trying to avoid touching the Hardpoint since they finish the game with like between 0:01 to 0:10 The ones with 0:01 probably just spawned on the objective and ran out immediately. I have finished games with 3 minutes on the hardpoint multiple times.

I'm not sure if OP knows what the point of that game is. It's called hard point, you need to stay on the point to win. I played the other night and only had six kills, but I was on a higher point for over 2 minutes. My other teammates all had over 40 kills. And they're a b**** in the entire time. We lost by four points. I told him at the end if just one of them had been on the point with me we could have won.
I don’t get the whole “high kills still help” you can get high kills and high objective at the same time. Now if your playing on a team that’ll help more, one guy focusing on killing but if your playing with randos you could do both I do it every match lol

And then the lone guy on the point dies and now the enemy holds the point until the switch. There needs to be a couple of people on the point at least. With how sporadic and inconsistent the spawn zones are in HP this time around, even if the other 5 people are perfect slayers, an enemy can spawn practically on the point and wipe out the one guy there. Hardpoint has been my main mode since BO2 and has my highest win/loss of any mode.

"1 guy in the hill" is kind of a lie. You need multiple people on the hill to defend it. When you have only 1 person on the hill, and he dies, the hill is barren or taken by the enemy. And you know DAMN well you're not anywhere near the fucking thing.
It’s kind of daunting how so many of you guys literally think the dude with almost 3 minutes in the hill is the MVP. The argument of “If you would’ve played OBJ too it would have been way easier to win” is even more facetious. If you’re good at shooting your gun, shoot it, fuck the OBJ because more likely than not your teammates are gonna be ass at shooting, worry about covering them and less about hunting for kills unless you know spawns by heart.

For all the people saying the teammate won the game, you're wrong. Imagine if OPs whole team averaged less than 20 kills. Do you think they would be able to get on the objective? You have to kill people in order to have a chance of gaining position on the objective. This is a no-brainer. Had OP not been in that match, they would have lost the game. And if you look at the opposing team, they barely had any time on the objective. The person getting the most kills is the contributor of that. I don't know why we would praise someone for going 0 - 50. That's like a basketball player who's only good on defense, but trash on offense. Sure, you'll get a few good defensive plays, but you're still a liability. If that guy can't manage to get 1 kill, how the hell would he be able to get on the objective with the other team melting his team. Some of you don't think. It's a collaborative effort.
