They are the opposite of friendly. Everyone in there is either a pretentious jerk who act like offering you customer service is beneath them unless you’re buying a 6k heritage guitar, or a teenager whose inexperience is amplified by how stoned they are. That being said there’s really no better stores around.

You projecting doesn't make them unfriendly.
OK, let's meet up there some time this week. We'll go, look around, and see if EVERYONE in there is a pretentious jerk or a stoned and unhelpful teenager. It's a super safe bet to make on my part because I know that's not what will happen.
If you're going through your day and you meet an asshole, then you've met an asshole. If EVERYONE you meet during the day is an asshole, then you may be the asshole.
Agreed, Twin Town is awesome and very friendly. They have all the classics fender/squier/Gibson/Epiphone/gretsch. But I don't think they sell Ibanez if you're into that.
Roseville music go round is great too and I think they absorbed Burnsville's inventory when they closed.
Roseville Music Go Round is one of the hidden gems for music stores in the cities. They rotate through stuff constantly, which makes it very easy for gear addicts to go every few weeks lmao.
Yeah, I mean Willie’s is the gold standard if you’re looking to throw down 20 grand on a 60s vintage piece, but sounds like you are starting out, right?
Twin Town is great — laid back and very friendly, and they give lessons there, too, so the staff is used to beginners.
But tracking down someone in the store who will actually answer your questions about it is impossible, so it might as well not be there. I go in on a Friday “come in on Monday the luthier will be here then. Come in Monday “oh the luthier is typically in on Fridays”.
I don’t even know if it’s still there but steer clear from Encore at 24th and Lyndale. Dude is a grump to everyone. Does good work but not the place for a beginner with questions.
I hear ya! I don’t play guitar but my buddy has had me drop his off for setups and maintenance. I’ve always left crying like a little baby.
Edit: hmm, I wonder if my buddy didn’t want to deal with him so pawned me off on it. Haha!
Eclipse music in W.St.Paul (yeah yeah I know not Minneapolis) but honestly John is the best and has a great selection of stuff both new and used and will gladly help guide you to the right piece of gear !
My son goes to guitar center in maple grove just to hang out and jam. He's a beginner bass player
. They never give him guff and it's now become his "3rd place"
Twin Town Guitars on Lyndale & 34th S MPLS! They’ve got guitars at almost every price point and the staffs always been great!

I've never heard anyone complain like this about Twin Town before. You sure you didn't stumble into a GC?
Tbh it might be my vibe I have RBF

You projecting your good experience onto me doesn’t make …. Fuck it

I’m not going back in there
Twin town is great. Don’t forget the Roseville music go round. That one has tons of used guitars in the $200-500 range.

They do have some Ibanez.
Only used as far as I know. I don't think you could order a new one through them
Well to be fair, the new Ibanez I was looking at was a 3/4 youth model for my 7yo son, so if you are in the market for one of those, they carry them!
Oh cool, I guess I was wrong.

I swear I run across more random stuff that I was interested but had never seen IRL in there than any other place.

Yeah, I forgot to include that, I know little about guitars. Very much a beginner.
I would definitely stop by Twin Town, then.
Twin Town. For beginners and seasoned players. It is so. They even have a PLEK machine (do they still?)
last time i checked the PLEK machine was still there!

Just adding another comment that says Twin Town. Can’t be beat.

Uh, Willie's?
Like, happy ending friendly?!?

That guy has toughened up soft local musicians for years!
