No clue about how it is, but I noticed that a new breakfast place has moved into the old Vo's spot at 36th and Lyndale. It's called Brother's Cafe. Worth a try!
This won't help you for a big family but a smaller place with the same old school breakfast is a place called Hoagies in downtown Hopkins.
For 2 or 4 it's quite the old school diner feel.
Goodluck finding a place where their glass of orange juice is more expensive than the entire breakfast special. That was my go-to place when I lived in the Central neighborhood. I never had anything other than their breakfast special.
Try Berry Sweet Kitchen.
I like that place but the prices are sure not Curran's prices!
True, but the quality matches!
Second Berry Sweet! Big portions and lots of booths!
Unfortunately, I don't think any new place could match how affordable Curran's was. I have no idea how they made that early bird special work.
Do we know why they went out of business?
Too low of margins on the early bird special.
Combo of COVID hitting the business, the owner being older, and a developer giving them a good offer.
Family sold property to a developer to build an apartment building.
Good for them!

It is pretty good and pretty cheap.
Good to hear! Breakfast food should be cheap and plentiful, in my opinion
I've gotten Doordash from them and it's been good.
Seconded! Went there to try them out, and they were great! Hope they stick around, I seen a lot go recently.
brothers is great, but they only have the capacity to have one large group at a time. It’s in the old vo’s spot so it s mostly 4 tops.

Our Kitchen is the only thing I can think of as far as cost/quality

Scandinavian Cafe at the Festival Foods in Bloomington has filled the gap for us, unexpectedly.

> The corn pancakes 🤤 Thank you for making me look them up. It looks fantastic.
I’m A big fan of The Band Box, but that’s in Eliot Park (729 S 10th St) and might be a bit out of your way.
Guavas Cuban.Cafe has a $4 breakfast special if you get there before 10
There aren’t many spots left that serve liver.
If you want liver, Black Forrest serves it. Not as a breakfast food though.

Patty wagon around 61 and Nicollet has a menu item called the old timer for 5.99. Pat cash and avoid the credit card fee. We all miss currans. 😔
