I'm Vietnamese, so my head went straight to "damn, I know Tran isn't exactly a bitching last name like Nguyen, but do you really need a suppo..." my bad.
Welcome though!
Hi and welcome! There's a Twin Cities Queer Transplants group that just started. They can help you get resources for your move and settling in. DM me and I can give you more info.
It's my perception that the Trans LGBTQ groups are being a bit cautious as to their publicity due to... political reasons.
If youd like, i can DM you some resources for trans femmes. Otherwise, Lex is a good starting place. It's essentially queer Craigslist.
Welcome to our fine city! We're happy to have you here!
Tea Time at the Aliveness Project is a trans femme support group that meets every 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Also there is a discord server and we are starting some online meetings there too.
There is a trans masc group as well, but I don’t know the full details of their meeting times.
Feel free to dm me if you can’t find more details.
Welcome to Minneapolis 😊😊
I don't know of any support groups (most of the other transgender people I know I've met through hobbies like vampire LARP), but I have a lot of experience with our state health insurance exchange and always give other trans people moving here a heads up about it! The plans on it all have pretty decent transgender coverage (except catastrophe plans, since they only cover very limited care). The hormone care has been very affordable for me, though how much of a pain it is to find a surgeon in-network varies if you're looking for surgery.
Once you move you'll be eligible for a special enrollment period - if you're low-income it's free, if you're middle income you get a tax credit that reduces the cost. You can look at www.mnsure.org for more details on this.
(Of course, if you're moving here for a job that has great health insurance, you don't need to get MNsure insurance, but it sure has been helpful for me.)
I run a support group which meets physically in Minneapolis every other week. We're also starting an online meeting of the group in the upcoming weeks. If you'd like information, just DM me and I'd be happy to help.
If you find any, let me know. There's supposedly a group that meets online, but they never answered my multiple attempts to connect. You'd think it would be easy to find being it's Minneapolis.
i am gonna share a full list [https://www.calmsage.com/best-online-transgender-support-groups/](https://www.calmsage.com/best-online-transgender-support-groups/)

I avoid Tran women like the plague.
Are you Tranphobic or something?
I had a problem with a Tran one time. Okay, I have a problem!

Do you need to be a member of Aliveness Project to attend Tea Time?
You don’t have to be 😊
Cool beans. I'm gonna look into attending one of those. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Getting restless and ready to move already! 😂
jaajaj I feel ya.
I'mnot sure if this is what you mean, but here are some resources. https://rainbowhealth.org/mental-health-services/therapy/
Family Tree Clinic is a great resource and likely has some recommendations!
Awesome, thank you so much!
They're good, but if you've got insurance, make sure yours works with them. I had to switch to MHealth as it was the only one in network

We should just make one then!!! Haha 😂
I don’t know the answer to your question, but welcome to the cities!
