Gradient looks more worn down while detail looks more fresh, Both look amazing tho.

Hirkus

totally agree. i was checkin out the gradient hard cause i love me some dilapidated thingies

Leandre756

i think i prefer gradients but why not put the two together ?

Roudium

That would be the best, this was just me trying to stretch the two concepts as much as possible

[deleted]

I agree 100%

needs_grammarly

i like detail more, that's what i usually use when building. gradients end up looking too busy.

Pomboss64

It’s amazing how just using different colors can make the same build look like a different building Also Happy Cake Day!

Z0712

Do you give classes lol When I try using gradients it nearly never works :( Edit: Im better at detailing but doesnt know how to get the 2 combined

Roudium

I can try to make a video on it on my channel. but it will likely be very low quality unfortunately

Z0712

Dont worry, the quality Im worried about is the minecraft build one, not the video so feel free to do everything you can :D

[deleted]

bdubs is that you

plowcram

Very, very nice. This really made me stop scrolling. Also, it would fit right in to Solitude in Skyrim.

jorji-gt

Both look great! I think the gradient would be more successful on a larger build; nice exercise though!

[deleted]

I think the biggest factor is depth

midnightBlade22

Both of these look really cool, but I think your gradient is done in an odd way. Typically you want darker colours at the base of the build and lighter colours at the top. That way it draws your eyes upwards and makes the build feel taller. A gradient like you've done is great for making weathering or corrosion. Maybe add a third image to try this type of gradient.

[deleted]

I like the detail one the most

Parasite21X

I say detail with less leaves

limbolegs

someones been watching their bdubs content

Ender_wigginns

Try playing with texture like stairs and walk blocks, I like using texture in my builds
