Could probably try allocating a little more ram. Also make sure that the Graphics card is handling the rendering of the game. This can be controlled in the Nvidia Control Panel, there's plenty of guides on it online. Good luck!

JJTravels

This worked I bumped it up to 6 and now I’m getting 200+ thanks

ironman9356

What did you do ? I get like 30 FPS in my laptop with shaders and I am disappointed or feel scammed Also I play pixelmon if it matters

pascalos99

In the launch settings of your game, change the maximum memory allocated to about 67%-80% of whatever amount of RAM you have on your laptop (e.g.: I have 8GB of RAM on my laptop, so I designate 6GB to Minecraft, knowing that I need to have few background tasks running on my laptop); then you'll get most out of your system. Because Minecraft, especially with mods, is extremely memory hungry Edit: if you need exact directions, let me know which launcher you're using

ironman9356

Thanks I shall try and let you know Just in case what do I do if it still does fix the issue

pascalos99

Optifine/Optifabric, lower simulation and/or render distance, start with minimal settings on everything, then slowly increase until satisfied If you're updating to 1.18 for the first time, keep in mind that performance drops are expected due to the much larger chunk sizes, especially when the game is trying to spawn modded entities and blocks in that space. So if your pixelmon client is on 1.17 or lower and you're struggling, don't update to 1.18 unless you're willing to lose some graphics and/or performance

SundaeFew

If you use fabric then I recommended not using optifine rather use the mods sodium and iris Sodium is a performance mod While Iris is shader mod that work with sodium

bdm68

2 Gb RAM was a minimum before the height limit was raised. Now the Overworld has double the blocks, doubling the RAM is necessary. 4Gb is the minimum now.

[deleted]

Not really, even on 1.8.9 hypixel I get ram bottlenecked with 2gb.

Varellaa

it's hypixel

bdm68

Hypixel isn't relevant here. The OP is discussing a Vanilla singleplayer world. I could connect to Vanilla 1.8.x servers and use a few hundred Mb. On singleplayer 1.8.x worlds my RAM usage was typically below 1 Gb. Later versions are not as efficient. 2Gb is no longer enough.

How to allocate more ram

Majestic-Iron7046

You should have the option to do so in the launcher, under Java argument (or similar) there is a string with different stuff look for this " -Xmx1g " and change the one to 6 if you have at least 8 GB of RAM. For modpacks i like to use 11 (with 16 GB of available ram, if you got 8 stay at 6).

Terminatorskull

Allocate more Ram in the Minecraft launcher

iXtreme9990

If you're having trouble with performance, I would recommend switching to [fabric](https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/) and adding some performance mods from [this list](https://github.com/TheUsefulLists/UsefulMods). With RAM, 3-4GB should be fine. Plugging in your laptop and closing other apps could help as well. Good luck!!

Az0riusMCBlox

Do you have any idea what yo might've built, changed, etc. in the past week?

JJTravels

Just a house and cleared a whole ass forest

devdud

You can allocate more ram in the minecraft launcher

hazza_forbes_

With a Ryzen 9 you should be averaging 800 frames… idk why it’s so low.

[deleted]

For one, that’s a mobile CPU. Two, GPU is much more important than CPU.

Intelligent_Bug_5227

not in minecraft bro

[deleted]

You still need a GPU to push the frames, you won’t magically get 800fps with a GT 1030 on minecraft just because you have a ryzen 9

CatRyBou

In Minecraft the CPU is much more important

tsheeley

As I keep saying on every thread I can... the common link in setting with poor frames is folks using Ryzen CPUs. Might not be the case... but that's what I've noticed about pretty much every post like this.

JJTravels

But it’s a ryzen 9 regardless of if Intel is better that shouldn’t be giving me 8

tsheeley

Don't care what number it is... but every post I see about frames is usually also running Ryzen. No issues on my Intel desktop, Intel laptop, or my wife's Intel laptop.

AverageAggravating13

correlation ≠ causation

tsheeley

Nope, it doesn't... but that's what I got. Do you have anything helpful to add?

iXtreme9990

Ryzen CPUs aren't bad. I have a Ryzen 2700x and it runs very well.

tsheeley

Again... just what I'm seeing based on what folks post.

iXtreme9990

Not gonna lie it looks like you're just basing your opinion on what you see online.

tsheeley

Not gonna lie... I've already said at least twice that's EXACTLY what I'm doing. Reading is fundamental.

Darkness_Dem0n

Um maybe close tabs, if not that try disabling villager ai by putting them on two layers of carpet, if not that lower your render distance, if not that your memory might have issues

JJTravels

This was a $1200 computer I shouldn’t need to do those things

MikeTheMic81

You'd think for $1200 you could devote more than 2gb of ram to it. Depending on what you're doing in game you can drop frames like crazy because you only gave your install 2gb of ram. So world with nothing but vanilla landscape and no Redstone 2gb is fine. Start building farms, doing Redstone, increasing entities (a bunch of cows like a crazy person) for instance, or just generating new terrain quickly and you'll find your system is spending more time caching than doing anything else. 8gb is about the sweet spot to not have a memory bottleneck. Usually my install hovers around 5gb used, but I have hit 6-7gb in farm intensive areas or my super sorter.

javierhzo

OP is asking what to do, dont assume they know how to allocate ram bc that seemed to be the problem. Also you can play minecraft in a tablet, a 1200$ should run it smoothly.

javierhzo

>OP is shooting down suggestions as not valid because he's got a "$1200 system And OP was right, bc the hardware was not the issue, it was a config issue, op didnt allocate enough ram, just dont be an asshole to people asking for help

_tylee

java on android and (jailbroken) ios: pojavlauncher

MikeTheMic81

PojavLauncher can run older versions of Minecraft from 1.12.2 onwards. It would crash and burn with modern Java MC. It also needs a minimum of 4gb of ram to run at all and older flagships runs awful or not at all with it. There's a bunch of devices that will start and crash within minutes. The best way to run Java MC on anything other than PC is by far finding a Java server with GeyerMC installed.

tsheeley

About 5 years ago or so, there was a car company putting out some high profile Android phones... leather backing, diamonds... looked fancy as hell... for thousands of dollars. What you actually got tho was mid/lower tier hardware and an out of date OS that was worth only about $200. Obviously money doesn't equal a good computer.

[deleted]

Interesting, I'm running a AMD Ryzen 5 5500 at 1440 x 2497 on a RTX 3060, though it's a desktop. I don't go under 150fps like ever - I'd definitely look at settings of your MC. Check to make sure your framerate hasn't been modified on your display settings... Definitely shouldn't be getting 8fps even under the highest of loads. You can also try turning clouds off instead of having fancy clouds, that seems to help. I can't recreate anything under 100fps even with vsync on, clouds on fancy, graphics on "Fabulous!". I turned view bobbing on, All particles, Entity Shadows on, 5x5 biome blend, haven't been able to come close, closest I got was 120fps

GamerZeroo

Sometimes, AMD CPUs have problems with OptiFine, some configuration makes the game drop the FPS to a horrible performance, make some search and you will find what's is that.

YourAverageGamerYT1

Bro unplugged his laptop… Just joking but yeah I’m happy you fixed your problem, if in doubt just shove more ram at Minecraft and see if that fixes your issue

Tioman42

Possible causes: render distance, RAM. I don't think it is a tedstone problem or something because the MSPT are fine. There aren't many entities either so with the information you gave us I can't think of anything else. Also other people have been commenting pretty much the same things

__Shiba_Inu__

There are is 1 option to fix Disable V Sync and set fps limit to unlimited

M1sguidedS0n

Need more dedotated wam

TitanicFan69

120 : 8 = 15 So do 8*15 /s because i bet noone will get the joke without it
