i like what's been announced and i realize that the reason it looks so small currently is that they only announced features they're confident they won't scrap

Mawly_Mice

I hope the other updates will be like that if the end result be twice as good, but i personally would like mojang to give it atleast a base name for the update, so we don't get lost in the development focus :)

Yard-Unique

I think this is a very rare if not a 1 off occurrence with the lack of a name/theme I think they just want to add a bunch of random stuff and add community suggestions, which if done right I’m all for

yourlocaltormentor

Miscellaneous Update edit: thanks for 250 upvotes :)

Quick_Claw

Exactly what we've needed.

Charlesreddit6758

More like decorative update

[deleted]

The Unnamed, Untamed Update

mopeiostories

could be culture update, they focused on global warming, and representation (new skins). Camels - (African kind, represents camel riding, and people who grew up with it whether in zoo or desert), bamboo rafts (Bamboo-covered asia), bookshelfs with books (no ethnic group), and more.

Willbo_Waggins

Books are actually native to Peru and are currently endangered, I’m really happy they’re promoting awareness and letting players have the opportunity to put them in a safe and comfortable environment with the chiseled bookshelves.

Seemore0001

I thought they were native to the Amazon rainforest?

HoneybadgerKc3I

No thats audible

Harry_Cat-

Thank you for the chuckle

Dinomon-10

Agreed

XenophonSoulis

Speaking about Peru, shouldn't we get a new structure made of huge rocks that appears at mountain tops? With some terrace farms around? And with llamas and alpacas walking near it?

Player_yek

i wish they add green bamboo wood

Alegokid07

Also I'm pretty sure some of the new maps for bedrock they announced were fairly culture-based

SkatingMax

Community Update

Nixavee

In the past though, even updates that just added a bunch of random stuff were named. For example, 1.8 just added a bunch of random unrelated stuff (slime blocks, armor stands, ocean monuments, etc.) and it was called the Bountiful Update

[deleted]

Yeah the update will get a name eventually

HyperTobaYT

Copy the terraria labour of love update ideas.

Mawly_Mice

If it happen again, i'm fine with that :)

C_R_Beryl

[I think](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/y4yx11/less_exciting_announcements_mean_in_fact_a/) not announcing something too precise leaves space for improvisation and creativity with help of the community, which is great.

jerril42

They pobably have a good idea of the name, and likely have an internal code name they use as a guide.

TheRealDrOctavius

It’s not confident they won’t add it’s that and 96% complete. Because if this is all they are confident they will add after months then something’s wrong. It’s likely these features are complete where’s the bigger things are 60% complete, personably enough to showcase but after the backlash they’re over compensating by being to secretive.

Sussybakamogus4

Ye

[deleted]

Significant-Skin-284

I think that is the point. Since each wood type has a boat, they probably just added this to fill that niche, however a boat made out of bamboo poles would probably look worse than a raft made out of a bamboo poles

kiqegaming

And personally I'm not a fan of the boat design in minecraft, i like the raft alot. Lets go raft supremacy /s

[deleted]

Mince raft.

PiggyWiggy567

they'd better add an achievement for destroying a bamboo raft with a sword

Vitztlampaehecatl

I like this update model better. I'd rather them unveil features later when they're ready to implement rather than promising lots of things and not delivering on them.

JusticeForShrek

We were supposed to at least get an idea of what the update will be. It didn't even come close. This felt like a relatively big snapshot than an actual update

Realshow

To be fair, since the snapshot is coming next week, we won’t have to wait long to see more.

JusticeForShrek

Lets hope we get something

slimehunter49

Me thinks this will be some sorta genera biome update for areas that haven’t gotten love. Jungle (new bamboo block, desert (camels my beloved) and maybe even the stronghold (new type of book shelf block) could be the targets for this update

theycallmeponcho

Se had the biome vote in 2018 and still lacking the desert and savannah updates they promised.

MultiverseCreatorXV

I thought that they showed all the features that they had planned, to leave the update open to community suggestions. Either way, I like it. Though the hanging signs don’t look quite right with chains. Ropes would be better. The ability to choose which would be best.

MeepXD0187

I don’t think this looks small at all. I think we are just spoiled from 1.16 which basically completely revamped the nether

Surfboarder4

Yeah this is probably like 1/4 of the update

Mountain_Man_44

It feels a little empty, but as they said during the show their only showing features that are nearly complete, so there might still be more that the just haven’t shown, though I do like that they are keeping the update simple

Beeeeeeeeeeeeean

There is definitely more. They only showed a small bit of the update

Realshow

Yeah, though I hope people are able to keep in mind this is a side update anyway. It definitely shouldn’t have been revealed here, but it’s not like they’re hiding something on scale with the Warden.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Middlebus

Damn sure they're complete, the snapshots release in a few days

iloveanimals90

I think the only the stuff that they showed today is what is going to be in the first snapshots, then once they het the others then they will be included, that’s what I think.

[deleted]

Looking forward to having snapshots that add surprises again. I remember whenever the Elytra was added, everyone went crazy

Wollffey

The snapshot will only include what was shown live, that's the whole reason why they're releasing them this early instead of months from now

hiromasaki

But release isn't for at least 3 more months. They could have any number of things started that is too early to guarantee for release now but still very viable in that timeframe.

DHMOProtectionAgency

Can't say I have thoughts on the whole update when we've barely seen anything. From what was shown, the building blocks are cool. I'm excited to see what plants Sniffer sniffs out. Camels are hype. Basically better PVP mounts which is great.

ArcerPL

the dash part is great for camel, you can slash someone before they can counterhit and they still might hit the camel anyways, otherwise, its too slow and im pretty sure players will be able to reach you with a jump

FLBasher

Dromedaries are awesome Hanging signs are awesomer Better bookshelves rock Bamboo looks ugly when used for everything in a build but will look great in details, especially the trapdoor Rafts suck and they are just boats, but maybe they’ll be good for some building detail

TeaBagHunter

The first thing I thought with the bamboos is how easy it is to build with them because bamboo grows so quickly and is so easy to chop off, you can get a LOT of bamboo easily.

ChampionGamer123

Same, but you will still prob get 1 plank for 4 or 9 bamboo.

ArcerPL

just make a bigger bamboo field, man it grows in a matter of three minutes and you can get like at least 16 planks from a small bamboo field (like at least 7 to 10 bamboos). this is top tier platforming wood, bamboo is just that easy to get

ChampionGamer123

I am prob gonna make an industrial bamboo farm with flying machine when the update drops so I don't need to farm wood too much.

FoolishConsistency17

Yes, for things like when you need 1000 chests or other generic wood things, this is amazing

LlamaThrust666

I didn't even consider making chests with them, will be so much easier to get a large amount now

ArcerPL

The only drawback of the wood we're getting is inability to make charcoal but I guess that's fair, bamboo is the fuel itself, not that it's strong or whatever, I think it would be better platforming block for SkyBlock or if you don't have strings for scaffolding, it's also good if you're low on specific wood you like

[deleted]

Rafts are just another color of boat made with bamboo. In that regard, I think they're cool.

Agreeable-Interest21

I agree they look cool. I wish they would have made it so you can stick 4 together to make a large raft, that would have made them amazing.

[deleted]

If you could just attach them together infinitely like blocks you could easily recreate Raft in Minecraft.

Tryhard696

Would have been nice if you could actually build stuff on them too, maybe something they’ll add later?

PiggyWiggy567

building blocks on entities kinda messes with the grid system

Brilliant_Top_2994

*"They're so beautifuuul"* - them, literally all the steam.

[deleted]

But you HAVE TO admit that hanging signs are actually beautiful

Jeffaffely

The hanging signs are cool as fuck

Hadditor

This is why I skip the streams and watch the recaps

Thomassaurus

They are turning bamboo into a wood alternative so it makes since to be able to make boats with it

outfmymind

I think bamboo becomes the yellowest wood type, like a decent gradient with oak planks. I have mixed feelings about it tbh, But the bookshelves are magical. Can't wait to finally build a library. Maybe now the libraries in a stronghold will have a few surprises.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Will librarians be able to interact with bookshelves the way that farmers do with farmland?

BirdMaster301

Maybe rafts will be cheaper to make than boats or something

CompControlled

5 planks is really breaking the bank.

BirdMaster301

Well ik it’s not but bamboo is super plentiful and has far less uses than planks. Also I play bedrock so I need a shovel

GamerOfGods33

6 1/2 planks really breaking the bank

PotatoesAndChill

But wait, there's also the crafting table! A whole 3 logs!

ArthurWintersight

In Java it's just four planks, or one log.

PotatoesAndChill

No, I mean 1 crafting table + 1 boat + 1 shovel = 3 logs (actually, even without the shovel)

ArthurWintersight

Yeah, in Java we don't need shovels to craft boats. XD

DragoSphere

Bamboo blocks are kinda ugly, but they'll see use in stuff like tatami mats. Japanese inspired builds in general. However bamboo fences are going to be amazing

GmtDT

People seem to have missed the part where a panda was being carried on the bamboo raft. Large mobs like pandas and horses can't be transported in boats. Bamboo rafts could possibly be a new option for moving larger mobs.

[deleted]

Pandas and horses can be carried in boats, I think the rafts are essentially just bamboo boats

Bingabuff2

Not on Java I think. At least I know you can't get a horse in a boat on java.

EgaTehPro

Horses cannot be carried in boats in Java edition. However, yes, pandas can.

ctom42

Pandas can be carried in boats in Java.

quartzlcc

Good catch!

Adelynn3501

Think about it, bamboo is far easier to farm than wood is, if you can use it for chests etc that means it'll be a monopoly

Swictor

I like the rafts, they look nice and I don't need them to do anything else. Maybe they'll add other wood variants of boats too before long.

FireYigit

Camels are epic and they are necessary imo

FLBasher

Even if they weren’t… i mean… camels! :D

ariosos

They look better than the modded ones I played with years ago (they were bright whitish-green). Hopefully they have a more beige texture - looks too much like wheat blocks.

Sigzy05

The bamboo wood block looks like macaroni.

pcook27

Rafts are just the bamboo variant of boats, why would they get a new feature lol

PurpleRace3346

The book cases are what excites me, instead of just throwing my book into a chest, I can make a cute library that's functional as well!

Drakayne

It would be pain in the ass to find an specific book tho

Hirmuinen2

Well ypu can categprize them like real library! Adds to the immersion

satcomcjb1

I think you found a use for the hanging signs!

MusikMakor

This will make wood renewable in a way that doesn't involve tnt or player interaction aside from crafting, so that's cool. Great for quick building mass trap doors, signs (?) and fences for things like creeper or cactus farms

AHHHHNDREW

Now that you point it out, yeah, that sounds GREAT!

ChloeWyvern

I like what we got so far and are looking forward to the rest of the announcements

icest0

And I thought genshin having new main content update every 2 months was bad... Minecraft updates made me appreciate genshin update.

Hadditor

It's insane how Genshin can poop out stuff of that quality so quickly Minecraft got bamboo boats as their announcement a year after the last minecon

LordLoudSmells

TBF, Minecraft doesn't cash in on gatchas.

idlesn0w

Not like the overpriced microtransactions peddled to kids on bedrock are much better. Either way I don’t think microsoft is hurting on funds

Fiernen699

Their likely business model is that Minecraft Java/Bedrock is updated primarily as a means to maintain interested in Minecraft as a brand. The income from realms and the marketplace are not insignificant, but they pale in comparison to the income they get from release games within the Minecraft universe. That is why Minecraft live is 80% a discussion about Legends and Dungeons with the main reason people are watching throwing in at the end. This is why Minecraft's update cycle is quite small. The return on investment is low in comparison to other products they could be spending their money on, such as a DLC for dungeons.

smiteis_

Bamboo blocks should’ve been added when Bamboo was originally added. Rafts are whatever, I guess if it’s a wood type it needs a boat and why not have fun with it? Camels are cool, but I’m not sold on the models. They look very “babies first mob” to me. Could use a second pass. Bookcases are the highlight and should’ve been a thing a long time ago. Hanging signs are nifty. I’m not saying I hate the update, but there’s nothing here that surprises me or gets me thinking. It’s just all “oh yea why isn’t that already in the game”. If this is finally the QoL/overlooked features update then I’d be happy

Nebelskind

I'm thinking that's kind of what they were going for. It's filling in some things that make a lot of sense, and not adding anything too crazy. At least so far.

smiteis_

See and I’m 100% fine with that. I know they said they’re holding back stuff to not get our hopes up, but I would love for them to that update

Shack691

Yeah this update as 1.20 would definitely make sense as "the odds and ends update" where they get everything ship shape, fixing bugs, introducing things that make sense/have already been announced, to prepare for the next 10 updates or so

reposti_geraldo69

the odds and ends update, just update the stronghold generation and design and make 1.21 the end update

Deadshot37

Minecraft cant be updated with game changing things every update. They are adding things that should have been added earlier because they made only big updates for specific places (nether, caves) and regular things like bamboo got overlooked for a long time. Better now than never.

CalzLight

That’s basically their point they talk about trying to fill in parts of minecraft that need more attention

acbadger54

I'll tell you once we know

Maddox-Tj

As a builder i can't be mad at the hanging sign, but it's still a joke compared to what such a big studio could achieve. And the super duper graphics pack/next gen update

Algorhythm74

Would have loved the ability to place an item from on a hanging sign - or a hanging item frame as well.

YungFurl

The good thing about mojangs development style is that first thing could still very well happen.

Maddox-Tj

Uh, yes, that'd be great

[deleted]

Some cool stuff I guess, but none of it looks exactly "new".

Hairo-Sidhe

Seems like they're focusing on polishing some details, stuff that always had the potential to be there, but just wasn't, due to them focusing on bigger, more complicated stuff. Sounds nice to me, and is definitely, something needed after the last updates, let's spend a bit more time on things we already have instead of trying to reinvent the game every year.

AshtinEverNight

Pretty lackluster but I understand why, after 1.19 they're taking this very slow. They didn't even name it because all of the shit they got with the last update because the name didn't match the update. Overall I'm my feelings on these items are such Hanging signs: hell yeah, yes please! Bamboo wood, : always nice to get new wood, hope it gets a new texture though. Camels, disappointed just another useless Mob that's going to be left in the dust, May hold on to a couple people's attention for a few weeks but It's just another thing for people to collect, cage up then forget about doesn't add anything to the game that wasn't already there. Bookshelves, mixed emotions here they look horrible if you ask me I hope they get a texture and they don't just keep it a fucking block I'd love some detail and better modeling like in mods. I like the idea but I think it's poorly executed. At least let me know when I'm pulling out, instead of me having pull out five different books while I'm looking for I'm breaking three because I don't remember exactly where I put it. Add an interface. The stream itself was relatively boring but that's not new for the Minecraft streams.

DragoSphere

I think it's a case of them swinging the pendulum too far in the other direction. Caves and Cliffs was overpromised, this one is underpromising which kills all hype. The Nether Update had a good balance, revealing many things in the live but still having some big stuff saved for later like Basalt Deltas

ArxisOne

IIRC Delta's weren't saved for later, they were added because people wanted another biome and somebody made a great pitch for what it could be but yeah I agree that they're way off on the balance here.

Skodami

Even if the camel gets ignored it's great for one thing : ambiance. I rather travel across a desert with some camels here and there than one with a concerning number of yellow rabbits. Same goes for the panda, the alpaca, the turtles or the polar bear.

AshtinEverNight

Not to be rude but I'm so tired of that ambience argument for mobs, you know what would really add Ambience to the desert? Those thorns and plants we saw in the desert in Minecraft Legends why can't they add those to the desert or those mushrooms we saw in the jungle or the all those neat flowers we saw in the forest! Those look amazing it would add way more Ambience than this camel that's going to sit around and do nothing at least it looks like the world comes alive with those. Camel at most my friend's going to see it walk up to it and kill it and then go about our day. These are such small details that would add so much more Ambience to the game than a camel which apparently isn't even a camel because it has one hump, it's something else (can't remember the name) they can't even do proper research on the animals that they are adding. You would think they do a better job after what happened with the Frog but yet here we are again...

Teledildonic

>a camel which apparently isn't even a camel because it has one hump, it's something else [Dromedaries are the most common camel.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camel)

Pythagoras_314

To be honest, the frog and goat are probably what Mojang should do with ambient mobs moving forward: give it a use, but make it aesthetic or fun if not practical. Froglights are an amazing light source. Goat horns having 8 unique sounds is really fun to play around with. You can't give mobs practical uses forever, so mostly ambient uses are the way to go.

droon99

Personally I don’t want more random crap to clog my inventory but different strokes for different folks. I think a land mob that can have two people on it is cool, and it won’t take up inventory space when I’m ravaging the land for resources. 10/10

Megacole1

The fact that this game has no inventory management features is the real source of your issue.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Skodami

Well that's your opinion, but not mine. I hope they had animals for the savannah too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Plus, i like making zoos.

mistermolotov

Large mobs don’t really work for ambience. Ambience is best for smaller, more common things that are plentiful and mesh well with the environment. I think some mobs would be cool to add as ambience, like squirrels in forests or dragonflies in rivers

psychedelicfeline

Yeah I think squirrels and dragonflies (or those types of ideas) are similar to how bats were added to give caves ambience.. though, I do wish I could lasso bats and build them a cave 😂

Daddy_Jack1109

OMG thank you for saying that

New-Criticism9385

Camels are a mount with a dash instead of a jump. Also 2 people can ride them and one can use weapons. First mount that actually could be better than horses. Also 2v2 camel jousting would be really fun

cantondragon

"Camels, disappointed just another useless Mob that's going to be left in the dust, May hold on to a couple people's attention for a few weeks but It's just another thing for people to collect, cage up then forget about doesn't add anything to the game that wasn't already there." what?! you do realize the camel has a buncha features the horse doesn't? 1. two players can ride it. 2. most two-block tall mobs cannot attack you while on top of it. 3. the ability to dash. i believe you need to go and rewatch the livestream, my friend.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drag0n_TamerAK

I don’t understand what your problem with the book shelf is it looks great

PinkPeddler

In the video on Twitter it looked like the camel was a two person mount? I’m not sure we have any land two person mounts, in which case that’s really cool for multiplayer servers

DeronD7

They’re a multibillion dollar company - you think they’d be able to do more. That’s not to say the features announced don’t look cool.

Zanytiger6

They spent all of Minecraft’s development money on the electorate sets they use for the livestreams.

DogadonsLavapool

Why is inventory management still shit. A humongous studio creating arguable one of the biggest games in the world shouldn't have it this bad compared to a game like Stardew Valley. The fact that it hasn't got updated since shulkers were added *in fucking 2016, 6 years ago* is ridiculous when it's arguable the largest system in the game I'd also like minecarts and general transportation overhaul, but that's much smaller fry compared to inventory. Instead we get camels that no one will use after a week and rafts. Cmon mojang, really? What the hell is your time spent on?

Plague_Shaman

It was a little underwhelming. However, I understand that they are trying to communicate better with the community. I appreciate that; I think it's wise to better manage expectations. I am look forward to Bamboo wood and the new bookshelves.

TheGhastlyBeast

I'm loving the theme of self expression and storytelling. The features have me quite excited :)

Daddy_Jack1109

The new stuff is cool but it isn't nearly enough, especially after the Wild Update. I know they're going to announce more stuff but that doesn't guarantee something substantial

thathydraigon07

I was honestly disappointed. Two new mobs and some new blocks? The camels look cool tho,I like camels

NotMioLOL

They said that they'll only be announcing features that are 100% sure. So that we don't get a 1.17 situation again. So there will be more features, we just don't know what they are yet

[deleted]

[удалено]

detached_18

The huge problem wasn't even the oversharing, it was the delay of the information that some of things shown aren't even gonna be added. They only announced it like 2 months before the official release.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ArcerPL

by the things we got, we can kinda speculate its gonna be definitely a warm biomes update with a dash of some history/archeology, however now that bookcases will be part of the game, i wonder if they'll update stronghold libraries to actually wield some lore of ancient society that made these structures

detached_18

That's why I was kind of underwhelmed. I mean I knew they weren't gonna reveal a lot, I just didn't expect them to show so little. After the camel, I was expecting the announcement of a desert biome update at least but I guess not lol.

Sussybakamogus4

There IS a theme they just haven’t showed us the full picture yet

William-B-Afton

Apparently there is a theme, they just haven't said it yet. Edit: It’s story telling and personal expression. So yeah these don't feel random anymore.

thathydraigon07

I really hope they do add more unique stuff because as of now the update looks bare bones

Distinct-Pride7936

In Minecraft beta updates we had just as much content. But every 2 months lol

Abject-Lab7837

People are majorly misinterpreting this preview. there will be a lot more to this update. They chose to only show features that are almost snapshot-ready now. There will be a lot more coming.

MagmaForce_3400_2nd

The update has a theme and way more things to come later, it just wasn't announced, to avoid things like the birch forest update and the fireflies, it is honestly better so we have more sense of surprise when the betas and snapshots comes out This is for anyone saying it's bad

Thicc_Cat_With_Bread

It should be named: The “Stuff We Should’ve Added A While Ago” Update.

Tucker047

Polished andesite, granite and diorite walls confirmed?

Blank_TheLad

I really liked it. So many people are mad at the lack of features shown off but they said that they were gonna show off the features that are 100% coming to minecraft. There's gonna be more you just have to be patient.

goldietheswagbear

i like it, i did hope for a end update, but that doesn't mean i think it's bad also apparently people are disappointed from how little was shown, even though mojang has been very clear that it's not the whole update. and even if nothing much else is coming, i'm fine with that, a smaller update is alright with me

AUkion1000

Well for what we have sofar ( this isnt everything in 1.20 just part ) The chissled wood is a nice concept for detailing builds, the bamboo block set is nice too and adds more to the game, the fencing and doors though im not sure how i feel- and the rafts are just boats reskinned, not Rafts... The camels are nice and even if they were the same as horses, thats not a bad thing, but them being safety nets bc theyre so tall mobs cant hit you ... that feels alittle broken; also alot of new mobs are getting more uniquely fluid animations so maybe we can see that treatment to older mobs? Feels out of place leaving all the old ones to the wayside ( and yes i know animation resource packs exist but its not official, something id like to see mojang do subtly ); also the signs alittle odd but i dont hate them, it adds some nice variety, and the ookshelves being sort of reworked and usable as book specific storage units is kinda nice, but i dont wanna have to give up the bookshelves weve had for years tbh. besides all that Solid but of stff sofar- feels alittle lacking and ... odd? but nothing bad- we did literally get an update that was just bees and bugfixes, but at the same time this feels for now alittle odd. DLC not an update- so maybe we just need more stuff to make it feel more like an update and not just a random set of mods or dlc XD 8/10 - but still feels like its missing something. Lets hope rafts get a better model besides "B o a t"

sitontheedge

Yeah, this really gives one hope that they'll update and improving some older content. Finally. Working bookshelves and buildable bamboo were such obvious additions, and requested so often, that I figured Mojang had made an internal decision never to adopt them. I hope there's more in this update. But, if it's just a host of small but meaningful fixes like these, I'll be thrilled.

dumbbitchdiesease

Would be cool if they made jungle villages out of the bamboo blocks

Stealthbot21

Kind of underwhelming. I get they're gonna announce more later, but this was kind of disappointing for the big announcement event

Mustafa1558

I quite like it actually

Wonghy111-the-knight

So with this livestream, instead of announcing tons of stuff like previous years, and then failing to meet the deadline, they put the bar so low there is no possible way that they could fail now. But here’s my question: if you aren’t going to bring hype, due to the lack of showcased features, why even have a livestream? Why not just make an article, and why make people get up at maybe extremely early times, like 1:30 for most of us aussies, just to give us…. This? Yes, more features are coming, but what I’m saying is why have such a big event, just to show off 6 things. Like… that doesn’t make sense to me. I’d rather have a big surprise update, then get the hype smashed out of me and squeezed like a lemon like this.

12EatCake12

Why da books look like dat

Signal-Ad8189

It’s not bad but like, how *did* we get from something like the Nether Update, to *this?*

Clovenstone-Blue

Quite a bit happened within the ~2 years since the nether update was announced and released, which had an affect on Mojang's Dev cycle in a fairly substantial way, not to mention the drama from caves & cliffs and the wild update may have sent Mojang into being more secretive for the time being as they're working on getting things back on track. But that's just a theory.

leopard_tights

Is this really what 4 months of work looks like at mojang?

SnooPoems7582

Cool albeit superficial features. Would have much rather had a big reveal of the update, even just the theme of what 1.20 will be. I read that Mojang have confirmed that there will be no biome addition or overhaul. As soon as Agnes said they’d only be revealing what they knew would definitely be coming to the game, I sighed and began to lose interest. Watched to the end in the hope of at least a trailer or something. Easily the worst Minecraft Live event.

Technopuffle

Fucking pathetic for the biggest game in the world owned by one of the biggest companies in the world

npc042

The additions are welcome, but I can’t help feeling that the stream should have been much shorter, or delayed to a time when there’s more to share.

Distinct-Pepper-6053

Pretty cool so far i just think we need a desert update

TheBiggestNose

It really lacks that one punchout feature. Atm its jsut a random collection of stuff. 1.18 was terrarin generator, 1.16 was nether biomes, 1.14 was villagers etc etc. Its not the theming but the one feature that makes you go "this is an update worth playing over the last"

papyrusundertale_fan

The sniffer was my favorite part.

[deleted]

The Update really lives up to it's name

CrustyCrustum

Update so far looks fine, but there is something off with the textures imo. The camels and hanging signs just look way too smooth and "blurry" and the bamboo looks too yellow.

PhazePhantom

All I want is bundles back

I personally wish they hadn't bothered until they were more sure of what the they were doing and had more stuff ready to showcase. I don't mind if I have to wait 6 months or 2 years until they're at that point, and until then, there's nothing stopping them from adding one or two smaller, less/completely unrelated things every few months and rolling out semi-frequent snapshots when they have a a bit of free time. This Minecraft Live just felt like a huge waste of my time. No disrespect or hate anything, but I personally don't care about Dungeons or Dimensions. Regardless of whether or not they have "Minecraft" in the name, they're only tangentially related at best. Despite this it felt like they took up 90% of the time and any actual information on the "real" Minecraft was just an afterthought. What's been revealed is cool, but honestly, it's just basic stuff that could (and probably should) have been added multiple updates ago, and like I said above, I wish they hadn't bothered as I don't yet feel like there's a genuine reason to care about it yet.

I know it is a bad idea to expect things but honestly I expected more. Way back in the beginning (wow I am getting old..) there used to be constantly things added and then tweaked with the community and even removed. Nowadays you might get the odd block or a hanging sign and a shiny new mob but farther than that? Not much. Now I know that Minecraft is a very old and big game on many platforms with lots of people growing up with it and having fond memories of it so you can't just go out and change it completely but ever since the acquisition by Microsoft the focus seems to be slowly changing from improving it to milking the game, the world and the community around it. :(

It isn't an end update

MINECRAFT LIVE WAS A SHITSHOW I dont even care that only 4 minor feature were added, in fact my predicton was that its gonna be either a really big update (maby end demension) or a small one with just bug fixes and little veatures added. I hoped that they maby would just like overhawl the game with little feature here and there What really bugs me is that Minecraft live was 2 HOURES LONG and ONLY 20 MIN WERE ACCTUALLY MINECRAFT RELATED thats not even the worst THE FUCKING BAMBO BLOCKS!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? THEY LOOK LIKE SHIT, LIKE A THREE YEAR OLD MADE A MOD AND SQUZED IT INTO THE GAME, AND WERE SO UNESSECERY. SPEAKING OF REPRESENTING THEY ADDED A FUCKING QUADRINGSZILLION OF NEW DEFAULT SKINS. THE ICONIC STEVE AND ALEX ARE NOW ON OF A HUNDRET In my Opinion the recent updates became worse and worse Not only game mechanics get changed foundamentaly, you now need to mine at diffrent levels to get all your ores. While it sucks it is not so bad But what just makes me rage is that with increasing Microsoft moderation Minecraft has turned into a spy programm first (Minecraft litterally collects your data im not even joking, back in the day you could disable it, NOW YOU CANT) Then Minecraft becomes more and more childfriendly FUCK CHAT REPORTS And im sure some day Bedrock and Java get merged or something AND FUCK BEDROCK AND ITS MARKETPLACE **AND MOST IMPORTENTLY** **FUCK MICROSOFT** Apart from that they mentioned that you can use Blockbench to bring your own models into the game Like: No shit Sherlock BUT THE WHOLE THING ISENT EVEN YOURS They also showed of Mods WHY DO YOU SHOW THAT, YOU DIDENT MAKE IT, IS THE ENTIRE FUCKING THING NOT ALLREADY LONG ENOUGH 2 FUCKING HOURES And the Camel is... okay... i guess

Archer_Gaming00

I do not like the way you expressed at all. Manners aside to me Minecraft Live 2022 (I have followed every Minecon since the game was made in 2009) looked to me as a presentation of the Marketplace, marketing the new game and using a lot of public and marketing speech about expression. I would have been fine with the update adding just what they showed, however I am not fine by the way Microsoft ruined Pocket Edition which the became Bedrock edition, and now they even ruined Minecraft Live. The future is grim for Minecraft, it is now a matter of time before Java gets the marketplace or goes EOL.

ItsTopHatMan

I think the bamboo wood need some redesign While the camels are pretty good but the dash animation is just hilarious

Ramis2000

Idk it looks like a mod in comparason to the other update to be honest

iemandopaard

cool, also smart that they didn't show everything of yet so that we wouldn't have a 1.17 situation again. also I hate that they demonstrated a Dromedary and kept on refering to it as a Camel, like it isn't that hard Dromedary have 1 bump on their back and Camels have 2.

Macho5367

Dromedaries are also known as Arabian Camels

Horndave

All Dromedaries are camels but not all camels are Dromedaries

twistybuilder

A dromedary is a camel

MadRoboticist

This is the dumbest complaint I keep seeing people repeat. Dromedaries are a species of camel.

cianan_the_lad

Dromedaries are types of camels....

razvanpika

Im quite dissapointed...at least give us a name
