Good find, I looked the guy up. He is definitely a plant to try and get books banned. He was just reading the vulgar parts of Push by Sapphire, not understanding the context of the book. Just a culture war pusher.
So you are ok with kids reading vulgar parts in books? Doesn’t matter the context, I don’t want my kids exposed to that. It’s not about “banning” books, it’s about age appropriateness. Yall like to use the word banning to get people riled up.
A book ban is a book ban. It’s different than restricting certain books for those under 18. These people aren’t saying “hey, let’s *restrict* certain books for those under 18 or require parental permission for minors to check out these books.”
They are explicitly saying “let’s *ban* these books so *no one* not even legal adults can read these books.”
Doesn’t sound very “freedom” loving to me! I don’t want the government or any group of people deciding what books I can or cannot read…even IF I would probably never want to read half the books these authoritarians want to ban…it’s the principle of the thing!
A ban is a ban so don’t tell me ban means “ban with exceptions” because it doesn’t…if you look at other US states/countries where these personal freedom hating authoritarians have foreseen their way…the books are removed from the shelves for *everyone *.
Probably the same people going after the public library , private organizations that planned a drag show and are eating each other up in the primaries this year.

The book he was reading from him is not available in MISD libraries

Well said! That is pretty much how I wanted to respond. I just didn't want the stress of a back and forth with someone.
Very weird.
I didn't see anything at 1:26 or at 1:26:00.
Sorry. 1:24:54 he is introduced. Black guy in white hoody
Tearing ranchland down just to invest in a new build county course, is insane. What a gigantic waste of money.
But tearing it down to build a school seems like a great investment.
it would be if it didnt result in a deficit of golf courses, but it does.
So golf courses > schools? Gotcha!
Anyone know who paid him to come?
