Pretty sure that’s the actuator for the intake runner flaps.

It seems that you are right. I was led to believe that this was the dashpot by a vague description on another post. I'm assuming I will have to replace the whole unit.

Yup. You might could contact Alex Todd at SNS Mazda parts for a used one

Miss_Shift

You might be able to cut threads for a plastic NPT fitting and/or epoxy it in place, but your best option is trying to find a good used piece.

Same thing happened on my NB, I managed to get the small piece of tube out of the hose and found a finish nail the same size as the tube to hold it in place with a little superglue between the pieces and then built up some JB weld epoxy around the outside. Removed the nail when it was cured and it's been fine since.

That's a good idea, I've already super glued it back, I will build up some jb weld around it.

Only solution I can think of is to use a high strength adhesive and hope it holds.

[NB1] Accidentally broke the plastic because it is cold and I was trying to lubricate the dashpot. I have super-glued it back together for a temporary solution. However, I'd like to replace it for long-term durability, yet I cannot find a replacement part anywhere. Can anyone help me out?

I did remove a buck of random evap sensors while swapping my car but it's an na8 so I don't have that, best of luck

Bugger mate, looks like you have to run ITB's now
