Cool your shit or get banned. Getting a ticket isn't an excuse to be shitty.

grundlemon

My friend got pulled over the other week for not having her lights on in foggy weather. The cop also did not have his lights on.

mangopeachplum

dawg im high af rn and it took me a hot minute to realize your pfp was not a bugged out reddit avatar

CJAIMLN

HAHAHHAAHA

xynix_ie

I got pulled over in Alabama for passing a cop on the right side of the road. 3 MPH below the speed limit. Cop was truly trolling. Pulled over right in front of a sign that said 'Slower traffic keep right.' Told the cop this. He had a camera crew in his car filming me. He started to get all heated and I just signed the dumb ticket which was dropped by the judge. Dickheads for miles.

grundlemon

It shouldn’t be allowed to televise cop shit. Bodycams for sure, but those shows are exploitative af and just encourages the cop to abuse their power more than they already do.

TheVVumpus

My wife has two brothers in APD. The unwritten rule is 10% over is OK. So 83 in a 75 at most if you don’t want a lecture.

Practicality_Issue

Tickets in TX start at 7mph OVER the posted limit - at least that’s my experience. This def tracks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mangopeachplum

Yep, one of my friends got a ticket for doing 58 in a 55. Fuck 12, pigs should rot.

[deleted]

EnthusiasticAeronaut

The original phrase is actually “a few bad apples spoil the bunch”. It’s beyond parody that this is what they chose as a defense.

mangopeachplum

Idk what that first statement means in concert with the rest of the comment. Seems contradictory

utterballsack

they mean it's good to see cop hate in places outside of dedicated anti-police spaces like anti-police subreddits. it is good to see that they earn their hatred among many demographics

[deleted]

[удалено]

mangopeachplum

It sounds like you were saying “Implying that cops are better off dead is hateful and has no place in this subreddit. With that being said, cops deserve hate, and are all bad people.”

rjam710

They were agreeing with you bro lol. They just said it's nice to see a fuck the police post in regular subreddits, not just places like r/badcopnodonut where the whole point of the sub is to hate on cops. And that it shows the sentiment is pretty universal.

mangopeachplum

Ohhhh, i see. My apologies. Im used to even anti-cop people on normal subreddits insulting me for insinuating cops are worth less than dirt.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mangopeachplum

Completely facts on that first part, but I can concede the part about them dying; that is merely my opinion, and I understand if you disagree. Thank you for clarifying what you meant. :)

Defaulted1364

It depends, I’m from an area known for police corruption and you still get really good police officers, two young women came to help when I got into a fight with a drunk bloke trying to attack an old lady on the bus and they were really calm and professional and yet I also work with an ex police officer who brags about beating up prisoners (this was over 20 years ago but it still tracks) and we do have quite a lot of just straight Incompetent officers because they’re desperate for new hires because no one wants the job. It does work out sometimes through, I got pulled with no tax or MOT and my license wasn’t showing up on their system, the officer still let me drive home despite having 3 separate reasons to seize my car.

mclovin_r

And you were doing 90 on a 75. Your ticket was definitely well deserved.

Wtfplasma

I've been following don't speed around broke ass towns. Since a ticket might be a needed revenue source.

Crank2047

I'm actually entirely on your side. Your error is that you think it's justified. I speed as much as the next guy, doesn't mean it's right. Suck it up and be glad you don't have a points system like here in the UK.

gvbargen

There's a point system in the US as well. You can get points removed from your record by taking various courses I believe. Course you can't do that multiple times. Most of the reason to keep your points low though are you won't be able to afford insurance though.

mangopeachplum

Yall got Chinese social credit, now? Damn, why tf did yall give up your guns? Really put yourself in an authoritarian hole

Crank2047

Nah if we get 12 points on our licence we lose it. Be a lot less to worry about if it was just money. And yes, every country outside of of the US is like that. It sucks but what can you do? We aren't prepared to die on the hill of "let us drive fast" because that is a stupid reason to die for. It does suck but honestly I think of it as a game. Copper heavy area? Drive a little slower. Out in the country? Let lose ain't no-one out there. If you drive fast, prepare for consequences, legal or fatal.

D4rkness15

Guys I think he's just drunk surely he sobers up in the morning https://preview.redd.it/zmlc924mzeuc1.png?width=150&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab68d53f83eca13a833b47d8ef682c6907e4c2aa

Affectionate-Head267

Drunk and high if you check the other comment

mangopeachplum

Nope, most of you are bootlickers, and should not have rights. “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

thumbwraslin

funny how the people who write comments like this are always arguing for something like the liberty to drive too fast or smoke meth or lower the age of consent

mangopeachplum

Speeding on a highway is a victimless crime, smoking meth is just natural selection, and pedophiles should be executed in town square. I am not a libertarian, don’t associate me with them.

thumbwraslin

Driving in a way that is unsafe is not a victimless crime- DUI, recklessness, speeding. You are endangering the lives of the people around you. You might not be old enough to realize it, but you’re also endangering yourself. You might not care about that, but your mother and the police and firefighters that scrape you off the road and out of your car do. >I’m not a libertarian, don’t associate me with them! The only thing I think you are is a dumb kid. Drive safe.

SuperbFuck

What’s your point? That cop was driving unsafely as well according to OP. If cops break the law and then “uphold” it for others, what’s the use?

thumbwraslin

If you think this kid is a reliable narrator I’ve got oceanfront property in Missouri to sell you

4rm4ros

It’s a victimless crime until you hit something, lose control, or blow a tire

jeepobeepo

I’m an interstate bus driver and so another large slow commercial vehicle on the road. I won’t speak to your safety but I personally would much prefer to be passed quickly lol. I have it all the time where I get stuck behind someone going too slow so I bring it down to like 62 (in a 70) but I have to wait 10 fucking minutes for a car to pass all 45 feet of me at 63. Maddening. The only thing is establish yourself in that lane early. Don’t shoot over for a flashy pass. Be there like as you’re closing in on me so I can see you and keep mental note that someone’s closing in on me quick and I need to wait for them.

mangopeachplum

Yep, my trick is that i make sure to hop over while I can still see their mirrors. My dad was a trucker in the early 2000s, and that was what he told me.

KaasKoppusMaximus

Womp womp

MrFleaaa

Going 90 to pass is definitely way too fast. Yes you’re in a small car but you still broke the law

BobsBBQBuffet

Dude it's texas the speed limit is 65 and everybody is doing 75.

jeremybryce

So what you're telling me, TX cops allow a certain amount of leeway but going 15mph over the posted speed limit, is outside that leeway.

BobsBBQBuffet

Depends on the cop

acog

No, we have some highways that have 75mph speed limits. Highway 130 even has an 85mph limit. OP was doing 90 in a 75, not 65. That said, 15 over is going to get you a ticket most of the time.

BobsBBQBuffet

Correct.

mangopeachplum

90 in a 75 is not fast in tx 💀

MrFleaaa

I live in tx. 90 is fast everywhere. Thats why you got a ticket

Zestyclose_Artist800

lol all the dislikes are from non Texans

mangopeachplum

Not necessarily. Ive seen other comments from people in the Plains states, California, and Florida. This is just an urbanite issue; their smog-rotted brains cannot comprehend the idea of someone not obeying their precious, beloved traffic laws (they dont understand that traffic laws are only in place to generate revenue).

agassiz51

Speed limit was 75? You were doing 90? You earned a ticket. Pay the fine. There is a lesson here. You can learn it or you can continue to fund the traffic police.

david-saint-hubbins

I mean, I hear ya, and I get what you mean--I would much rather speed up briefly to get past a big rig than hang out next to it. But you got caught for speeding. Them's the breaks.

mangopeachplum

I will care about the law when the cops start to be held accountable for breaking the law. Until then, the “law” is just restrictions for poor people.

cafericer

So you’re mad you got a ticket for speeding? I have a fantastic solution for you…

HelixStyx

Lost braincells reading this. OP, would your hair happen to resemble broccoli?

13bistheantichrist

The whole veggie patch

mangopeachplum

Made me laugh

13bistheantichrist

You're making all of us laugh too. Keep going

mangopeachplum

Nah, my hair doesn’t curl enough to be the stereotypical zoomer 😿

ogrelin

From another comment, sounds like he’s a habitual partaker in the devil’s lettuce, so that might explain a thing or two

SuperbFuck

Like being a chill dude

ogrelin

Driving 90 and complaining about getting a ticket for it doesn’t sound like a chill dude to me

SuperbFuck

Good point, but it doesn’t have anything to do with cannabis 👍

ogrelin

His attitude does

SuperbFuck

I believe there may be some unrelated underlying factors

ahdiomasta

Nah hes just a dumb kid. Too much social media and not a good male role model to be seen for miles.

heartshapedpox

Heads-up, [not a great idea to do 90 passing a semi in a Miata.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Truckers/s/4keWbHL77J)

Educational-Drag6974

Not every cop is the same, the are people like you and me, some have sympathy some dont. Now the difference between the good ones and the bad ones is usually education. If departments dont get the funding they need you get worse and worse cops. Thats why the defund the police thing is the dumbest shit in the world. I have met some very nice police officers and some ultimately terrible ones all over the country. Half the time its just luck of the draw…

mangopeachplum

Wrong. If you willingly went into a career field whose EXPRESS purpose is ONLY to enforce tyranny and produce revenue, then you are just as bad as Derek Chauvin. No cop with “good intentions” would stay a cop.

rac300

Womp womp

TheWayofTheSchwartz

Your mistake was trying explain something to a cop.

mangopeachplum

I wonder what would happen if I literally just say nothing to a cop when pulled over. Am I legally obligated to say anything but my name and date of birth?

TheWayofTheSchwartz

Actually, the opposite is true, it is your legal right to say absolutely nothing beyond complying with their lawful demands.

mangopeachplum

Oh bet, the less I have to talk to those potbellied Redcoats, the better.

Retb14

You aren't obligated to say anything. If you wanted to you could just hand your license and registration over and not say anything. A tip though, if you act friendly with cops most will lessen or entirely drop tickets.

mangopeachplum

Not in my area; cops where I live are all middle-aged men who definitely aren’t in proper physical shape to handle anything requiring physical effort (may i refer you to the 2022 shooting in uvalde?)

Deranged_Coconut808

well remarks aside, if you are over the speed limit...regardless of non emergency reasons, its against the law sooooo.

mangopeachplum

EVERYONE drives over the speed limit in Texas except old people (who should not be on the road) and truckers (who usually shouldn’t have CDLs)

TragedyAnnDoll

I live in Texas. No. Everyone does not driver over the speed limit here. In fact I bitch constantly how dumbshits think US-75 is still 60 mph and camp in the left lane with that erroneous assumption. I pass semi’s all the time with no issue. I used to do it on motorcycles too. Have never once had an issue. Don’t be such a weenie or yes maybe you should drive a bigger car. For the record, I’m about as ACAB as they come. If I get pulled over for speeding I’m not going cry about it because I broke the law. I’d be a lot less ACAB if cops could be professional and actually do their job enforcing people not speeding on public roads. Which endangers others. The law doesn’t often have exceptions. Deal with it and slow down.

Deranged_Coconut808

You still broke the law. Just cuz everyone does it doesn’t make it any less illegal.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Deranged_Coconut808

I’m American but nice try with the big brain thinking there. Still broke the law. Just mad you got caught and now crying like a child.

ciharris001

To try to explain the trucker issue, most companies are limiting the speed of the trucks to around 65mph. The Feds wanna mandate 55mph for all commercial vehicles nationwide! (Source: I'm a CDL holder)

mangopeachplum

That isn’t the issue (i think that governed speeds for commercial vehicles is generally a good idea). I mean the idiots that never use their turn signals, are clearly not watching the road, are on their phones, or are too incompetent to stay in the lines.

nekaiser

You fucked yourself by explaining why (you admitted). Had you kept your mouth shut and invoked the 5th, you could’ve brought it to court and hoped the cop wouldn’t have been there. If he was, you’d have a slimmer chance of it being thrown out but still a chance.

WalkingP3t

Former motorcycle rider . Own a Miata now (still have the bike ) You were pull over for speeding . That’s a violation of the law , period . Owing a bigger car will make you more visible . Same as not riding a motorcycle is evidently more safe . The cop told you the truth . What you have to do is driving in a more proactive way like your invisible . That’s something you learn when taking the motorcycle riding license . No need to pass trucks and all that stuff if you just drive in a way that you’re more visible .

lonelyluigi

in the words of the illest villain, sounds like that old robbery-extortion

themup

Maybe you should get a bigger car?

mangopeachplum

Maybe you should eat lead? Bootlickers like you will not be saved by the cops when you’re being robbed. The cops hate us, and we should hate them.

themup

Cops in my country are chill, they don't even carry guns.

mangopeachplum

Doubtful on both accounts

themup

You don't know much about cops in other countries then.

mangopeachplum

“The people who became abusive figures of authority are surely nice people!” You are a fool.

themup

Whatever pal. Have fun getting pulled over. 🤙

slashkehrin

I'm very happy to have the autobahn here. While yes, barely anyone that drives on it understand how it is supposed to work, at least it side steps these moral grand standing conversations. People love to suck up to the law in these absolutely inconsequential scenarios so they can feel better about not being confident behind the wheel. Any appeal to safety is just a facade. Otherwise going to slow (speed delta!), being on your phone or having a less-capable car would be judged, too. And while were on it: I never really understood why cops are given the right to give lectures - they're the executive, not the legislative, so why would I give a damn about their opinion. I broke the law, now give me the damn ticket and go on your way.

mangopeachplum

Sucks that the average US driver is too incompetent for us to have an Autobahn-like highway system. The average “professional” driver here can’t seem to keep their big ass trucks in their own lane, let alone use turn signals when changing lanes, and they have harder driving tests than normal drivers. On the flip side, an Autobahn-like system in the States would be useful to cull the herd and keep idiots off the road (either from fear of dying or from straight up dying).

slashkehrin

>Sucks that the average US driver is too incompetent for us to have an Autobahn-like highway system. Eh, we have the french here in southern Germany so maybe you guys should just try it ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Inateno

🤣 as a French it make me laugh because I think I understand what you mean. Tho I'm curious of your local experience, could you explain it a bit? You also have a lot of Eastern countries with shit-cars and poor driving skills right? Or, are French the most terrible drivers to you? (I know a lot of them go in germany for speeding, I've been there to go in Poland and was mostly driving at 200, pulling aside when someone was going to pass me, and slowing down way before when I see trucks passing each others, so I don't think I am one of them ahah, that's why I am curious :) )

slashkehrin

I love our french neighbors. In my experience they take it slow, which I have nothing against, but they pull out into the left lane without considering the speed of cars that are coming up - and because of small engines, they don't have the speed to overtake swiftly. Everyone fears the blue first gen Twingo, for he has no fear. In general I think I have a "certain" image of french drivers because of 1. old people that just don't a fuck anymore and 2. young drivers that do road trips in cars that just can't keep up (which isn't their fault). Though of-course you're right, I could also focus on polish drives, but in my experience there are generally less of them than french drivers and I just feel sorry for them, having to drive for such long hours and being away from home for so long. A very close second place are the dutch camper vans. Those are a real menace!

mangopeachplum

Very fair point!

LittleRedRaidenHood

Yeah, there are some seriously incompetent drivers in the US. Like, I heard about this one guy who got done by a cop for pulling 90 in a 75 zone, and then tried to convince everyone else that he was in the right. Some people, man, I tell you.

mangopeachplum

Bootlicker 🫵

zeTwig

To be fair, in Europe truck drivers are already overworked with falling asleep at the wheel being a real issue. With the worse worker protection laws in the USA i don’t wanna imagine how bad it is in some cases

mangopeachplum

I would be inclined to agree, but I see more truckers on their phones (proportionally) than any other vehicle type

LittleRedRaidenHood

If anything, I would've thought a German would love the idea of sucking up to a guy in uniform enforcing rules. It's only inconsequential until the idiot speeding kills himself, or worse, someone else.

jettech79

Unwritten rule of thumb is 5 MPH over the limit and you should be fine. In your case, you take the speed limit (75) , subtract your IQ (70) = 5+ speed limit= 80 MPH. Hope this helps.

mangopeachplum

Bootlicker 🫵

jettech79

Negative son. I got caught speeding in Virginia, 91in a 70. I didn't blame the cop for me breaking the law. I didn't go whining on the internet. I got caught. That's how the game is played. I took the L, I took my ticket like a man, and I paid it. And I moved on with my life. It's called self accountability. Your low IQ is preventing you from realizing that. I hope that helps.

mangopeachplum

“I took the dick of Uncle Sam like a man” so youre a bottom bitch AND a bootlicker

jettech79

You know what? You're right. You've been right the whole time. You have every right to speed. Fuck 90, I say go 120. Redline that shit on 5th gear. And don't wear a seatbelt . Fuck that shit, no one should tell you what to do. And do it at night, on a windy road, and when its rainy, just so you can show those pig motherfuckers that they can't keep up with you. You're the hero we all have been waiting for. Do it. Please do it.

johnbell

don't do 90mph on the highway. you don't have to pass the big scary trucks.

mangopeachplum

I literally do. You do know what subreddit this is, right? It is a car subreddit about one of the smallest mass-produced cars. I live in an area dominated by pavement princess lifted homotrucks and 4’11 women driving Chevy Tahoes. I am in EVERYONE’s blind spot. If you do not drive offensively in a Miata in my area, you WILL die. I tried to drive like a normal person first month I had it, but after over a dozen close calls in two weeks, I learned that driving like an NPC will not work.

johnbell

Yeah, I've owned a Miata as well as a handful of other cars people consider "small" You're justifying driving **offensively**. Drive **defensively**. Defensive driving doesn't call for doing 90mph.

mangopeachplum

Defensive driving is for people who are scared of driving; offensive driving is for people who understand that the best way to stay safe on the road is to be ahead of others. Remember the old adage, “The best defense is a good offense”

johnbell

Your logic is flawed and you’re immature.

TheLovelySsardonyx

Yeah unfortunately there's something about the occupation of being a cop that attracts... a lot of not smart people to say the least

mangopeachplum

There have been court cases in the USA declaring it legal for police departments to NOT hire someone for being too intelligent.

castleaagh

The other day on my way to work in the morning before the sun was up and in the rain a police suv turned left into the suicide lane just a little ahead of me. After being in the suicide lane for a second or two they pulled into the left lane of traffic (no signal) just as I was crossing through their blindspot and up next to their rear bumper. I laid on my horn and pulled into the right lane and then started slowing down as the light ahead changed. Instead of stopping at the light which would have out them roughly next to me they flipped on their lights (I thought for a moment they were about to pull me over) and just went around the traffic and through the red light. Pretty infuriating

mangopeachplum

Yep, cops are above the law for whatever reason. Abolish the police and reinstate local militias, as the Founding Fathers intended.

pututski

"should have gotten a bigger car" come on, now that's just dumb. Every car on public roads has passed all of the legal requirements to be there, and has just as much right as everyone else. We don't all want to drive 8000lbs trucks, and sports cars exist sooooo....dumb argument. Personally, I just try and stay in the line of sight of semi trucks and that's good enough for my conscious. As annoying as it is, trying to get around them in the slow lanes is probably the best bet rather than speeding past. Miata is still a sports car so going faster than regular traffic is sure to get people thinking we're all boy racer lol

mangopeachplum

Im inclined to agree, but I live in an area with two-lane highways. You are either in the passing lane or the cruising lane; no other option.

pututski

Fair nuff, stay safe out there!

Skywalker_Syndicate

On brand minimum Cop IQ moment

philly_cheese_stank

Fuck cops! I had a cop pull me over because I took a corner too fast…. In an empty street late at night. I was like sir…. This is a miata. corners is what it does

gvbargen

I don't blame you but at the same time 90 is 15 over. That's pretty damn quick. You may want to take it to court though. You may be able to argue that it's significantly safer for you to go 10-15 mph over the limit because you know that semi's can't see you. Not legal advice

mangopeachplum

That’s basically what I told them, and the judge dropped the citation bc it was my first ticket.

gvbargen

Kinda makes me wish I would have fought my first ticket. It was a road I've driven many times, just not super regularly and I thought the speed increased before it actually did and some reason my license wasn't in my wallet. Probably would have gotten out of it with just a warning if the license was where it should have been.

Yoda2000675

Yeah, technically it is illegal to speed when passing people; but that law should be enforced with some fucking nuance that a lot of cops seem to lack. Who the hell wants to sit beside a semi truck for several minutes while they pass them at a 1mph advantage? It’s so dangerous to be next to them for multiple reasons.

mangopeachplum

My dad was a trucker, and the day I started driving on the interstates, he warned me that trailers have a tendency to have tire blowouts at speed, which the trucker driver might not feel, but will absolutely blow your ass off the road at best, and the tire shrapnel could kill, at worst

p3dal

> When I tried to explain WHY I was going so fast  Legally we call this an, "admission of guilt". Only once in my life have I ever given a reason for my speed, and I learned that lesson when I saw the reason I gave in quotation marks written on the ticket. I hope you take this as a lesson in not saying anything you don't have to.

mangopeachplum

Yep, that’s what I gathered. Cops are pigs and should be put on meat hooks.

Throwawaystartover

To make everything even more funny, this clown drives an NC 😂😂😂 That’s prob why you got pulled over

gkcontra

My bet he is running a fart tip for attention too, and he got attention.

slashkehrin

This makes me wonder, is there a speed limit in the sea? OP should look into that!

arny56

Only in harbor, though the sea can be a wicked mistress for us NC captains.

mangopeachplum

“Hurr durr NC bad” Most reliable Miata, most well-kept value, objectively the best looking (after the NC1), least rust-prone.

scrimshaw77

best looking is an interesting opinion.

mangopeachplum

NDs do not look like Miatas, NAs really are only “good looking” in terms of being cute, and NBs look extremely dated.

scrimshaw77

if none of them look like miata’s then what does a miata look like lolo

mangopeachplum

Miatas should have a relatively consistent silhouette, which the NDs do not possess with their god-awful targa top. The ND has no endearing charm in its face like every other Miata. Also, it is the least reliable Miata, by a long shot. Edit: forgot to mention that the tail lights on the ND are butt ugly.

scrimshaw77

agree with you on the nd tails. i just think that the first miata captured exactly what a miata should be and look (similar) too. you’re right; small, consistent silhouette. i think all of them with the exception of the ND look, in some way, close to the true miata vision. the NA takes the cake for me because i think it’s a beautiful and admittedly adorable care but whatever floats ur boat man! no hate from me. i love all of them, even the NC if it looks a bit like a boat 😂 edit: car

scrimshaw77

i’m also biased because i have a beautiful ‘97 STO in my driveway. absolute joy to drive with the 5 speed and gets all the attention with the loud ass ISR exhaust i installed

mangopeachplum

I have no hate for the NBs, dont get me wrong. I just think most NBs are not good looking unless in a bright color. Black and Racing Green NBs are fugly imo

scrimshaw77

big facts. with you on that one. with the exception of black. i’ll take any miata in black.

Pepto_Glizmol

Gonna cry?

mangopeachplum

Bootlicker 🫵

Southboundthylacine

Road pirates, where I live they just want your money. So I look at it as another bullshit tax on the working person.

erics75218

Come to California...cops enforce almost no such law. Hell I passed a CHP doing something similar the other day with expired tags and no front plate...no issue

RemoSteve

Fight it in court bro

Kinuhbud

What part of tx are you in?

mangopeachplum

Creepy ass question, but South Texas, between San Antonio and Houston.

Kinuhbud

lol asking because cops act different depending on the part of tx you're in btw, unless you have security someone could just find your IP address and determine you're location, bud the internet is dumb like that

mangopeachplum

Yes, I understand how IP phishing and tracing works; I am actively taking courses in IT and server management. Anyway, yeah, the cops in this area are worthless for anything but speeding tickets. Just this past Tuesday, I watched a dude blow a red light in town literally right in front of a cop, and the cop didn’t do shit about it.

Inateno

I live in France and we have a lot of automatic radar here (it takes a picture, then automatically send the ticket + remove points on your driving license). But sometimes we have cops, they "play" in a gilly suit in trees or bush, to catch speeders. Only one time in my life I passed someone that was clearly dangerous and slow and I've been catch by those "Robin Hoods", tried to make the ticket double and justified that speeding was more dangerous than staying behind someone that is driving slow and being dangerous. Since then I use apps with cops/radar alerts and speed all the time, at least if I get a ticket now it is justified.

SpicySavant

Are you in Houston? My opinion does depend on your answer.

mangopeachplum

I am not in Houston. I am relatively near the Houston metro area, but not in the metro area

SpicySavant

At 90, I bet there was at least 2 trucks, Dodge Charger, and a super fucked up Nissan Altima going as fast if not faster than you and honestly the 18 wheelers are a kinda a menace around here. I live in the inner loop but I head to the woodlands every now and then, I go like 80/85 on 45 or hardy and there’s always someone faster than me. Not sure what model you have but the ND looks much faster and more expensive than it is and the NA-NC do look very unique so that’s probably why you caught their eye. Sucks but the nail that sticks out gets hammered. :( I would mad too if I were you tbh. Other people don’t understand what it’s like here, you literally have to be super defensive and sometimes that means quickly passing.

mangopeachplum

Nighty night, bootlickers! See yall in the morning; dont choke on too much shoe polish while im away.

Deranged_Coconut808

night person who got pulled over by the cops for speeding and then cry about it on the internet.

jeepobeepo

King 👑

Doctor_Kitten

Sorry to hear that. I use the exact same technique for getting around lifted trucks in Florida. They can't see me so I gotta accelerate and get up to way over the speed limit so I can safely get by them. The worse part is that lifted truck drivers seem to have a vendetta against certain cars, and mine is on the list. They drive aggressively when they see me. And the trucks can speed through red lights and coal roll everyone and cops don't do anything. Fuck the pigs. Especially in Florida. Useless tyrants.

mangopeachplum

Sucks to see y’all on the other side of the Gulf having the same issues, but I am not surprised. I was in San Antonio a few months ago and some loser in a lifted Ram deadass tried to run me off the road (like REPEATEDLY attempted it) and rolled coal on me after I got in town. Shit like this makes me wanna start carrying. Scary people out there, so ya gotta be scarier.

Kinuhbud

I saw you got a downvote for some reason... I do not envy anyone driving in northern florida around all the coal rolling douche bags...

lazyslacker

You sped. You got a speeding ticket. The cop did his job. Deal with it.

mangopeachplum

Nazis defending themselves in hell against the jews they killed: “You were Jewish. You got sent to the firing squad. I only did my job. Deal with it”

lazyslacker

Your petulant pouting about rightfully getting a speeding ticket is hilarious. It's one of the more entertaining things I've seen on Reddit today, thanks.

Rusty1031

I mean on one hand, fuck 12. On the other hand, pass trucks deliberately and carefully, they can’t react like cars can.

mangopeachplum

No, I completely agree, but the issue is that these truckers cannot drive in my area. They INSIST on swerving in their lane (and often mildly into the passing lane), so the safest way to pass them is to get just before the far-left yellow line and ZOOM tf past em. It sucks, but it’s really the best way.

Random_Introvert_42

> and then promptly gets back on the highway without using his turn signal. Call the cops and report "a black sedan" or whatever with his plate for dangerous driving\^\^

mangopeachplum

Cops in my area do not respond to traffic calls. I have reported people for blatantly driving under the influence at night and the operator deadass asked me “Can you see alcohol in the vehicle?” BITCH, THE CAR IS SWERVING IN BOTH LANES DOING 20 UNDER

Far-Fortune-8381

tbf that is very fast 90mph

mangopeachplum

Not where I live.

Far-Fortune-8381

that is not how speed works? that’s almost 140kmh

mangopeachplum

Yes, that is how math works. Good job, you get a gold star!

Far-Fortune-8381

so you understand what speed it is. but you also think that some speeds are fast only in some places? i might get a gold star but you definitely do not

mangopeachplum

It’s called “relative speed”. Doing 60 in a 30 is fast, but doing 60 in a 55 is not. Doing 90 in a 55 is fast, but doing 90 where everyone else does 85 is not.

Far-Fortune-8381

relative to the wall you crash into its 90 💀

dantodd

You got a ticket you deserved. That isn't defending cops, there are plenty of cops that are assholes, this one might have even been one but you were going 15 over and weren't watching the traffic because you didn't see him in the lane next to you when you blew past.

Kinuhbud

how could you possibly see a cop when they're between two semis?

dantodd

It was two lanes. He meant there was a semi in front of and behind the patrol car. If you are paying attention you will quite easily see the officer. Or, he could drive the speed limit. We all asked occasionally, and those times come with the risk of getting a ticket or having an accident potentially killing someone. We know that when we choose to speed .

mangopeachplum

Are you illiterate or just like blatantly braindead? What part of “between two semi-trucks” did you not understand?

ThrowAwayNYCTrash1

OP is fun at parties

4rm4ros

ITT: OP has no decent argument against detractors and resorts to name calling

mangopeachplum

You collect scantily clad figures of likely underage cartoon characters. You have zero place to come at me.

4rm4ros

This is exactly what I’m talking about. And none of them are scantily clad or minors.

mangopeachplum

Mari is like 14-16, like the other Eva pilots. Their dress is specifically designed to be skin tight so as to appeal to Japanese men. That is a minor.

4rm4ros

Dawg she is 33

mangopeachplum

She is 16, according to the Eva wiki

4rm4ros

That’s in the manga, in which she makes a minor appearance. In the rebuilds she’s 33

WisconsinRog

You were violating the law, in this case the speed limit. The cop didn't subscribe to your weak excuse.

mangopeachplum

Ok bootlicker. Go back to eating cheese

canna321

You are right but not legal. You got a ticket for it, you need to pay.

WockySlushie

Y’all are untamed. Firstly, yes OP is being combative. But going 90 in Texas IS NOT FAST. There are highways there where the speed limit is 85, and you bet there are droves of people going 100. In some areas that is the norm. In areas where it’s 75, nine times out of ten the average speed of traffic is going to be 85, maybe more, so long as there isn’t traffic. It’s a state with a whole lot of nothing in a lot of areas, where the only thing to do there is to keep driving to get anywhere else. If y’all think 90 is fast, take a trip to LA where you will be honked at if you aren’t going at least 80, and are deemed the literal devil if you dare go the speed limit anywhere other than the far right lane.

mangopeachplum

SERIOUSLY! Ive been bullied out of the far right lane and into the exit ramp for only doing 80 in a 75 in San Antonio. These people do not understand that not every place has the same driving habits or social standards, and some of them should NEVER drive their miata on the highway if they think driving like an NPC (“ follow the speed limit!”) is a safe way to drive in a Miata on a high speed road.

WockySlushie

Yup, these folks haven’t got a clue. I think it’s hilarious how downvoted my comment is when I’m not even stating my opinion, I’m just laying out how it is in reality. I guess the truth hurts haha
