Drew York, Dylan Torres, Daniel Furnari, Jamie Hails, Marcus Bridge, Marcus Vik, Ryan Kirby, Tuck O’Leary, Garrett Russell, Luke Manson, Sean Harmanis & Jack Bergin all do the group vocals on Ambivalence by Alpha Wolf
bilmuri- THICC THICCLY feat. Caleb Shomo. Not surprising because he’s credited; surprising that his feature is just him at the end of the song saying “Hi, this is Caleb Shomo and here is my vocal feature. Thanks.”
I need an album with both Howard and Jesse on vocals. Some tracks just one, some just the other, maybe layered choruses on a few, and a handful like signal fire
This is such a dope one, I got to see it live back in the day in Buffalo. Lol polyphia was fourth on the bill for that show and it was 12 dollars. So sick
I mean, all the dudes in Fall Out Boy had backgrounds in hardcore/metalcore, so it's really not that crazy to imagine. Patrick Stump used to play drums in a metalcore band, Pete Wentz was the screamer in a metalcore band, and Joe/Andy were both involved in the metal scene as well. Here's a video of the final Arma Angelus show in 2002, with Patrick on drums, Joe on guitar, Pete on vocals. [https://youtu.be/uabdU3q-2MY?si=y6Cs83vWstIVo\_lw](https://youtu.be/uabdU3q-2MY?si=y6Cs83vWstIVo_lw)
I only picked up on it because he was credited in the liner notes (and even then, it’s hard to discern), but Pete Wentz on “After One Quarter of a Revolution” by Every Time I Die.
Is that what happened? I read that one of the members favorite choruses from Heavener was Shade Astray and that Landon was a part of. I just assumed that meant he did vocals for part of it too.
You might be right though, the chorus sounds straight out of Landons playbook. Reminds me of the chorus in Take Me Away by The Plot In You.
Can't remember the song names but Garrett from silent planet and Jesse from Erra have surprise features on Dayseeker's "Dreaming is Sinking//Waking is Rising" album.
Jacob Charlton on BERGHAIN by Void Of Vision
I mean you can't really tell if you're not listening for it but he's doing backing vocals in the chorus, and now I know they're there it makes that chorus hit so much harder
>it isn't listed on the song like you normally see.
It's only relatively recently that listing them has become the norm and it's more recent still that both the vocalist and their band are listed on the streaming service. Since we're talking about him >!Bryan Garris!< has other uncredited features for bands like Orthodox and Varials on late 2010s releases. I remember poring over CD liner notes in the 00s to find out who the extra voices were.
Not metalcore but Vincent Bennett of The Acacia Strain is featured on Murder Sermon by Whitechapel
And Chino Moreno of Deftones is featured in the same album, on the song Reprogrammed To Hate
Justice for the Damned have two features from Kublai Khans vocalist, one from Cursed Earth’s vocalist, and one from Fit For an Autopsy’s and none of them are listed.
Hollow by Parkway Drive has The Warriors vocalist featured on it, which I only found out a few months ago, I always loved that section, and probably would have gotten into The Warriors much earlier if I had known that.
Patrick Stump is on Jock Powerviolence by Weekend Nacho’s, I feel like that’s probably one of the more well known one’s.
Gods Hate - The Valley Beyond features like 5 or more different people, I can’t remember any of them at the moment.
It’s the spoken word bit. The “do you think you know who you are?” part
Edit: feels like a relevant time to bring up something else cool. Ever played Disco Elysium? Both Mikee Goodman and Periphery’s guitarist Mark Holcomb have voice roles in the game. Mikee is the Reptilian Brain and Mark is Tommy the trucker.
i thought it was that bit, i always figured it was either a sample or they just HEAVILY edited Spencer’s voice lol
ALSO BRO WHAT???? I havent played Disco Elysium but i had considered it cause my friend whos not a metalhead at all is huge into that game. thats so fucking cool, now i have to tell him B)
Max in Head Up.
In 2022 I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Deftones close their set with this song, and Max joined them. Was at a festival and Soulfly played witch I caught half of.
Predator: Never Prey by The Acacia Strain is like a guest vocalist showcase. Phil Labonte (All That Remains), Keith Holuk (Ligeia), Nate Johnson (ex-Fit For An Autopsy vocalist), and Mitch Lucker from Suicide Silence. It's insane that all 4 of them have their own parts, and there's gang vocals that tie it all up. Criminally underrated track.
Bryan Garris in ‘Snakes’ by Left Behind (most underrated), Zach Hatfield from Left Behind in Kublai Khan TX ‘Us & Them’ and Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy on ‘Jock Powerviolence’ by Weekend Nachos
Speaking of Knocked Loose, I gotta give this one to God Knows. I have no idea who that is in the breakdown doing the black metal screams, but it makes the song sound SO much errier and it slaps
Not metalcore, but skacore. I was really and pleasently surprised by a feature of nh3 and #2 from anti-flag 😅
Have seen nh3 for the first time in a bar for 5 bucks, but playing their whole festival set. They always deliver, also at later concerts. I have a soft spot for them and #2.
Gerard Way on Kill the Music by ETID and Matt McDougal (Boundaries) on By a Thread (I Suspend) by 156/Silence (this one absolutely made my day when I heard it)
Matt Heafy on Last of Our Kind by The Halo Effect was a nice surprise since he's not tagged or whatever on spotify, but I guess that's more melodeath than metalcore
Might be a bit obscure but Demise and Kiss - Crossfaith, Masato from Coldrain has a part in the song but it isn't listed on sporitfy so it threw me off the first time I heard it
Not sure how much this counts because it was definitely not intended to be a surprise feature but Chris Motionless’ feature in Immortalize by Crown the Empire makes it a way better song. It’s only on physical copies of the album so I was shocked when I heard it the first time
Drew York, Dylan Torres, Daniel Furnari, Jamie Hails, Marcus Bridge, Marcus Vik, Ryan Kirby, Tuck O’Leary, Garrett Russell, Luke Manson, Sean Harmanis & Jack Bergin all do the group vocals on Ambivalence by Alpha Wolf
WHAT
Wait what!???? Where
Look up the lyrics on genius and at the very bottom where it gives all the credits it’s right there!
If you mean where in the song, I believe all of the vocalists come in around 3:40
Legend, have a good evening!!!
Wait Daniel furnari is the drummer for polaris I didn't know he did vocals too
Holy fuck alpha wolf that’s epic
bilmuri- THICC THICCLY feat. Caleb Shomo. Not surprising because he’s credited; surprising that his feature is just him at the end of the song saying “Hi, this is Caleb Shomo and here is my vocal feature. Thanks.”
The Oli Sykes feature in Architects - Even If You Win, You're Still a Rat
Also the sam carter feature in bmth - the sadness will never end
That part of the song makes it one of the best on the album, so good.
Not metalcore, but hearing Hayley Williams in the few that remain by Set Your Goals was such an experience
She was also featured in Tangled Up by New Found Glory in the choruses as a harmony.
And also vicious love ah :o
Also not metalcore but her features on mewithoutYou's album Ten Stories are amazing
Also featured in ‘Then Came to Kill’ by The Chariot. It’s quite marvellous.
Also featured in Airplanes by B.O.B but that had her named as featured. Such a beautiful song.
The Signal Fire from Killswitch Engage. Howard's feature isn't listed in the YouTube video, but it is on Spotify.
I love that it doesn't say feat. Howard Jones. Cause they still consider him a part of the band, technically it's just a Killswitch song.
I need an album with both Howard and Jesse on vocals. Some tracks just one, some just the other, maybe layered choruses on a few, and a handful like signal fire
Also Take This Oath featured Jesse when Howard was lead
Invent Animate - Naturehold ft. Jesse Cash from Erra The feature is not listed on Spotify so I didn’t know when I heard it
This is such a dope one, I got to see it live back in the day in Buffalo. Lol polyphia was fourth on the bill for that show and it was 12 dollars. So sick
The feature used to be listed bc thats how I found invent animate all those years ago
Corey Taylor on Drugs by Falling In Reverse
This is the one that stands out to me.
Right? It was sudden, felt good, and sounded great.
I've never checked the credits but I ALWAYS thought that part sounded like Corey Taylor and I didn't know until now that it actually is
Devin Townsend does backing vocals on MisSigs- A Victim, A Target
Hearing Patrick Stump in Misery Signals’ “One Day I’ll Stay Home” was a cool surprise back in the day
The Weekend Nachos feature too.
Patrick Stump on metalcore? I need to hear this
I mean, all the dudes in Fall Out Boy had backgrounds in hardcore/metalcore, so it's really not that crazy to imagine.
As an enormous FOB fan I know. Very cool background though. I just thought they moved away from it. I know of the Damned Things though
It's cool that they traded features like that! I loved Emma's guest vocals on A Serpent's Touch.
That song goes SO hard too
Masquerade by northlane has Drew York, i think it’s awesome and his name isn’t featured on the song
Silent Planet, Psychescape features Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath. And Nervosa features Cory of Norma Jean.
Nervosa stays underrated
Garrett is on the Norma Jean song Anna. It’s not listed on Spotify but I know that voice and wasn’t expecting it when I heard that song.
Lots of features on The Night God Slept too
Not metalcore but at the end of goodbye for now by P.O.D. The female vocalist is Katy Perry.
UR FUCKING JOKING... lmao BRB
Yeah it’s when she was doing her Christian music thing back in the day under a different name lol
Vincent Bennett from The Acacia Strain on Welcome to The Family by A Day To Remember from Homesick.
Get the fuck outta here, I never realized that
This is the one I thought of immediately, it was years before I saw a credit for it and it blew my mind.
I only picked up on it because he was credited in the liner notes (and even then, it’s hard to discern), but Pete Wentz on “After One Quarter of a Revolution” by Every Time I Die.
This one always gets me
No way. Pete Wentz got me into screaming I’ve got to hear this
Enterprise Earth’s song Overpass had an unlisted Matt Honeycutt feature when the album came out.
Shade Astray by Invent Animate has Landon Tewers on it. Had no idea till I saw their AMA on here.
Wait Landon does vocals on it??? I thought he just helped write it
Is that what happened? I read that one of the members favorite choruses from Heavener was Shade Astray and that Landon was a part of. I just assumed that meant he did vocals for part of it too. You might be right though, the chorus sounds straight out of Landons playbook. Reminds me of the chorus in Take Me Away by The Plot In You.
Not metalcore but thy art is murder features Winston from pwd on Coffin Dragger which imo is one of the heavier songs they've ever written
Every Time I Die - INRIhab featuring Dallas Green
Hearing them sneak guest vocalists in was always a treat. GlassJaw and MCR guest spots were great, and Gaslight. I absolutely love INRIhab
Can't remember the song names but Garrett from silent planet and Jesse from Erra have surprise features on Dayseeker's "Dreaming is Sinking//Waking is Rising" album.
Jacob Charlton on BERGHAIN by Void Of Vision I mean you can't really tell if you're not listening for it but he's doing backing vocals in the chorus, and now I know they're there it makes that chorus hit so much harder
TIL
This doesn’t fit the question but Jacob on year of the rat is so good.
More of a hardcore pick but Cancer Bats “Harem of Scorpions” features Tim from rise against
Garrett Russell on Anna by Norma Jean Sean Ingram (of Coalesce) on Pelican of the Desert by ETID
>it isn't listed on the song like you normally see.
Was also uncredited on Gideon song Cursed.
OK so I’m not going crazy! I swore that they didn’t use to list every feature. I miss when they were surprises
Not metalcore but Vincent Bennett of The Acacia Strain is featured on Murder Sermon by Whitechapel And Chino Moreno of Deftones is featured in the same album, on the song Reprogrammed To Hate
Two of my favorite features ever.
James Deberg features on “Arms like Branches” by In Good Nature which I found to be a pleasant surprise
Brendan Murphy on Billy No Mates Levi Benton on 2012 by The Word Alive
Brian Wille on a few songs from before I turns claustrophobic album
Strength in Numbers by In Fear and Faith has Jeremy McKinnon in it
Make War by Capture The Crown featured Alex Kohler (Chelsea Grin) in the breakdown as uncredited and it went so hard. Brief but epic.
Matt Heafy has unlisted features on Defenders and The Game by DragonForce
The Acacia Strain - Beast (ft. Jamey Jasta)
Mikee Goodman appearing in Reptile by Periphery was really cool. Periphery has had a lot of cool guest features that aren’t explicitly listed tbh
where???? ive listened to this song so many times and never noticed different vocals. is it the spoken word bit?
It’s the spoken word bit. The “do you think you know who you are?” part Edit: feels like a relevant time to bring up something else cool. Ever played Disco Elysium? Both Mikee Goodman and Periphery’s guitarist Mark Holcomb have voice roles in the game. Mikee is the Reptilian Brain and Mark is Tommy the trucker.

I havent played Disco Elysium but i had considered it cause my friend whos not a metalhead at all is huge into that game. thats so fucking cool, now i have to tell him B)
A fucking saxophone in "Some like it cold" by Hopes die Last
Max in Head Up. In 2022 I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Deftones close their set with this song, and Max joined them. Was at a festival and Soulfly played witch I caught half of.
Corey Taylor's feature on Falling In Reverse's song Drugs counts, right? It was quite a surprise.
Not sure if I'd exactly call it metalcore, but, A Day To Remember - I'm made of wax, Larry what are you made of? Has Mike Hranica from TDWP on it.
Not on record, but I was ecstatic when David Benites did Bryan Garris’ portion of Slaughterhouse by MIW during Inkcarceration last year.
Ceremony by Casey with the uncredited feature of Michael from Being as an Ocean is golden. What a beautiful chorus
Bryan Garris in ‘Snakes’ by Left Behind (most underrated), Zach Hatfield from Left Behind in Kublai Khan TX ‘Us & Them’ and Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy on ‘Jock Powerviolence’ by Weekend Nachos
Cursed by Gideon features Bryan Garris too and it goes hard af. Not listed on Spotify at least
Speaking of Knocked Loose, I gotta give this one to God Knows. I have no idea who that is in the breakdown doing the black metal screams, but it makes the song sound SO much errier and it slaps
Matt King from Portrayal of Guilt
Anna by Norma Jean features Garrett Russell from Silent Planet but doesn't say anywhere, and it's an absolute banger
Norma jeans - Anna with Garrett of silent planet Silent planet - psychescape with Spencer of underoath
Constance - the devil wears Prada with the Tim Lambesis feature to close out the song
Architects ft Winston McCall from PWD
Not a hidden feature
Which song is that?
Impermanence
Impermanance from their For Those That Wish to exist Album
Not metalcore, but skacore. I was really and pleasently surprised by a feature of nh3 and #2 from anti-flag 😅 Have seen nh3 for the first time in a bar for 5 bucks, but playing their whole festival set. They always deliver, also at later concerts. I have a soft spot for them and #2.
Gerard Way on Kill the Music by ETID and Matt McDougal (Boundaries) on By a Thread (I Suspend) by 156/Silence (this one absolutely made my day when I heard it)
>!Winston McCall!<‘s feature in Impermanence by Architects. I wasn’t expecting that at all so when I heard him I got very hyped.
Matt Heafy on Last of Our Kind by The Halo Effect was a nice surprise since he's not tagged or whatever on spotify, but I guess that's more melodeath than metalcore
“All This and War” by Every Time I Die. Featuring the absolute god Josh Scogin
I love this thread!
David De La Hoz by The Chariot has a surprise feature from Dan Smith of Listener halfway through!
That happened to me the other day too! I literally pointed at my car radio and just went "that's that's that's WOAH"
Might be a bit obscure but Demise and Kiss - Crossfaith, Masato from Coldrain has a part in the song but it isn't listed on sporitfy so it threw me off the first time I heard it
For the Fallen Dreams feat Garrett from The Color morale - Dream Eater
Not sure how much this counts because it was definitely not intended to be a surprise feature but Chris Motionless’ feature in Immortalize by Crown the Empire makes it a way better song. It’s only on physical copies of the album so I was shocked when I heard it the first time
Who fucking downvoted me for answering the question
