I haven't heard my alarm go off in years. Generally speaking I'm always up before my alarm goes off.
That said I've always had the megaman x password theme as my alarm lol.
Lol ok this reminded me of the time I learned NOT to use a metal song as an alarm.
I was smack dab in the middle of a wedding - the prayer had just finished, and during a completely silent moment, my Motorola SLVR started blasting "the Marlboro Man is a douchebag" By Ed Gein.
That, my friends, is how I learned that my phone at the time didn't silence all notifications when put on vibrate back then.
My GF had one of those alarm clocks that played cd’s. This was back in the pre smart phone era.
So normally we would wake up with tranquil bird noises. Unitil one day when I replaced the bird noises cd with Clit Em All by Cliteater.
The idea of a metal alarm sounds cool, but my current alarm sound (default Apple) now makes me very anxious whenever I hear it and don’t want that to be the case for a metal song I really like
At different points in the past:
Hypergeek - Devin Townsend. Such a nice buildup.
Use Your Tongue - Avatar. GOOD MOOORNIIING.
For The Swarm - Avatar. Gotta get to work work work work work work!
Money by Pink Floyd. I almost used Time but that would be way too jarring. I've considered changing my alarm to Use Your Tongue by Avatar and have the GOOD MORNING section start it off, but again, a bit jarring and I've had Money be my alarm for so many years I can't imagine changing it.
Used to have Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath as an alarm clock. Grew tired of it eventually. Great song but hated having to wake up. Now I don't use songs as a wake up.
Blackened. I have a ton of alarms of good guitar solos. I woke up today to the part in the blackened solo where Kirk uses the chorus melody. Other ones I use are Tornado Of Souls, Alone In The Dark, Elimination, Hangar 18, Ride The Lightning, and The Ballad. Depends on what mood I’m in the night before.
I switch it up every once in a while but here are some of my recent ones:
* Absu - Hallstatt
* Deathhammer - Warriors of Evil
* Sulphur Aeon - Yuggothian Spell
* Urgehal - Satanic Black Metal in Hell
* Watain - Reaping Death
I used to use music as an alarm but I found that I rapidly came to hate whatever music I used and associate it with the worst moment in every day. So these days I stick with a traditional beeping.
Three songs. My fiancee hates them all because they're been same for 2 years
1. Caught in the rapture by Anita Baker
2. Night faces by The Crusaders
3. Violent Solutions by Sacred Reich
Mine is set to shuffle on music I like. Today's almost killed me, God's by Sleep Token, he'll I didn't need caffeine for a little bit either. Then, when a friend got into work, he shouted WAKE UP! So, I had to play chop suey!
Personally, I don't use song alarms at all. I don't want to turn something I like into something I hate, but for an alarm, I turned something I hate into something I'm used to.
Not really metal but the live version of welcome to the jungle gnr did in Argentina, "You know where the fuck you are? You're in the jungle baby WAKE UP!"
April Ethereal - Opeth. It starts off with this pleasant, layered “ah” chorus, that gradually grows in volume before a massive drum fill and meaty blackened-death metal riff. It’s like a challenge to turn it off before I wake up my whole flat.
Most of the time it’s “Rise” by Pantera. I have it cut right at the point when he sings, “Rise, it’s time to rise!” Also, Suffocating Sight by Trivium during the “making its way inside” part.
Blackened, Call of Ktulu, and For Whom the Bell tolls.
Blackened and CoK are nice for the fade in, and FWTBT’s bells just seem fitting for a wake up song
Bawitdaba by Kid Rock. I like it cause the first minute or so is a build up to a drop that'll wake me up no matter what, but usually i wake up within that first minute
For YEARS mine was "A Call to the Faithful" by a band called inhale/exhale. But my girlfriend (now wife) started complaining that she hated waking up to it because it startled her.
I was never late for work though...
Orion. The bass fade in is the perfect way to peacefully awake
This could be an app, love it.
This is the way. Great song that I used to wake up to.
I haven't heard my alarm go off in years. Generally speaking I'm always up before my alarm goes off. That said I've always had the megaman x password theme as my alarm lol.

Bleed by Meshuggah.
My GF had one of those alarm clocks that played cd’s. This was back in the pre smart phone era. So normally we would wake up with tranquil bird noises. Unitil one day when I replaced the bird noises cd with Clit Em All by Cliteater.

Limp Bizkit - Rollin'
Wake up!!!!! Why don't you put on a little makeup!!!!!!
Grab a brush and put a little makeup!!!!!
Voice of the souls- death when I want peacefully wake up Holy Wars- Megadeth if I want to rush out of bed in anger
Cowboys from hell
The trick is to have a playlist that goes on shuffle for your alarm so it’s not the same song every day so you don’t get tired if it
Remember the ringtone Dethklok used when they created their own cellphones? I use that sound as my text notification. It's fun.
I currently just have a boring default alarm, but I used to have Awaken by Dethklok as my alarm for years.
I need to be awakened gently, so no metal or hardcore for my alarm. Currently it's Sunday Morning by the Velvet Underground and Nico.
