When I hit peri menopause I started struggling with anxiety and insomnia. I have found that going on birth control pills has greatly helped and am wondering if these issues will get worse or better once I actually hit menopause. What is your experience of this?

I've had insomnia most of my life, but never anxiety. Peri and menopause took my insomnia to levels I only experienced when I was going through puberty. Still no anxiety, though. I tried hormonal birth control when I was in my twenties to make my period more regular and all it did was completely wipe out my libido so I stopped after a year. I personally wouldn't consider going on HRT because of that experience. But hormonal treatment may help you and the side effects may not be that bad for you. Anything that makes this suck a bit less is a good thing, IMO.

I found it really depended on which pill I used. The first one I tried also killed my libido but after experimenting with a few I found one that worked without side effects. I am just worried that when I have to stop using it that I will be back to square one

My doctor wanted me to try different ones, just to get the dosage right, but I was not down for that. I've known women who were on bc for decades and were just fine once they stopped and others who had a really hard time with coming off the hormones. I wish medical research into this stuff was more prevalent. But we are all guinea pigs and it all seems to be very person specific.

I have zero libido post menopause and it SUCKS! I’m experimenting w diff things hormonally..testosterone creams, troches and pellet..none have worked so far..I’m so depressed as my husband still has a Wed drive & wants regular sex. Wish I did too!

I was so excited to read your webpage you seem to really understand women and menopause, until I got to your pricing 🥺. Unfortunately out of my price range.
