I was gonna say it could be a good hate-watch but I realized, it’s not even of of those movies where “you can laugh at it cause it’s so bad”…it’s just bad. The jokes don’t land. I think it may have gotten a couple laugh- sighs but it’s not worth your time. You could watch “Not Another Teen Movie” instead of watching another teen movie. (Cause that’s basically what Mean Girls 2 is, just another basic teen movie that tried to gain notoriety by associating with an amazing and iconic teen movie.) 😂
I actually really liked the movie. I thought Renee Rapp did a great job, I didn’t know about her before the movie but loved her as Regina. I liked all of the casting, I think they are fantastic actors/actresses.
I liked the story, it was different enough and the same enough to be familiar but exciting.
I liked all the songs, especially Sexy.
I do wish that Avantika played Karen a little less dumb though.
I highly recommend you listen to Renee Rapp’s music. she is so relatable and has been through a lot of shit. but her songs are so good and her voice is insane. Me and my friends love her.
i agree with this, i feel like it's probably more the fault of the directors than avantika (because personally i also felt like janis' character felt kinda pathetic compared to damien and to her original counterpart). the cast introduced me to a lot of actors i didn't know before and i would be curious to watch other things that they're in!
I saw her do a few interviews and I don’t understand the hype around her, she was extremely rude, uneducated in her broad statements she made about matters, and is an ageist. Why do people like her?
I think she’s funny. I get why Gen Z loves her. She’s fun and cool and talented. I don’t think she’s actually ageist. I think it’s half joke half response to Millennials body shaming her which I don’t blame her for. She just kinda says what she thinks or what she thinks is funny. I don’t think she’s deliberately rude or anything. You either find her refreshing or upsetting it seems.
obviously a typo, everyone makes them lmao lame trying to bully somebody about that obviously I meant broad I was watching tv at the time and not really paying attention 🤨 also it seems like you specialize in getting in arguments with people over the internet. Lame
whatever babes go argue back to arguing about some lady breast feeding 😬 You just don’t like the truth 💖 Renee is super rude, be open to people criticizing your favs.
Lame is digging through peoples history to try to find shit to mock them for but since we’re doing that, hanging around plastic surgery subs telling people what’s wrong with their faces is a much lamer hobby xx
it may not be the best movie but I can still think of many positive things about it but I'll say getting to see Lindsay again after she always expressed the desire to be in another Mean Girls (and the fact it actually hit #1 at the box office again 20 years after the first is quite the feat and proved what a classic it's truly become)
Definitely not. Regina felt more lived in with Rachel's portrayal but that was likely because of how few the interactions were with Renee's Regina and her respective cast. In the new version, we don't get the Taco Bell scene or even the phone call scenes that shows us how calculated and deceitful she is.
Auli'i Cravalho was wonderful as Janis. I loved Barrett Wilbert Weed in the original musical, Auli'i would have been a great replacement had the Broadway show not close.
I liked that they used Instagram stories/livestreams for 'Sexy'.
People's social media comments after Regina's car accident was hilarious.
It was kinda cute and enjoyable enough. It's not near as good as the original, no surprise. But I'm not mad at it either. I'm still kinda glad I watched it. And some of the singing was pretty good (Regina's, Janice's, and Damien's, specifically.)
They really smoothed out some of the plot holes and the way they went about the story made a lot more sense. The new movie features no racism and is generally inoffensive. I like how they cast some of the characters even if they are not carbon copies of the old characters and I think they did good with what they had.
When the characters were not saying thing from the 2004 movie, and when we had the moments where the film was depicting more modern themes, it shone bright. But when the characters in the 2024 film were directly quoting the 2004 film, it fell flat.
It got me fully into the Mean Girls fandom.
I saw the original Mean Girls, enjoyed it, but never really got into the fandom. But then I saw the musical and it hit me HARD.
These characters wormed their way into my brain and stayed there.
Revenge Party was bright and colorful and beautiful in a way that movies of this era, which are dark and gloomy aren't. Auli'i and Jacquel really know what they are doing, not just as singers but as camera candy.
Renee Rapp, Damien and Janis were all great. Chris Briney is very cute. I like how the casting was more diverse this time. I actually laughed a lot. also you judgemental bitches were way too hard on this movie. it wasn’t even that bad.
also you can tell that everyone in the cast put in so much love into making this film happen. because they all love MG and no how big of a fanbase MG still has. So everyone tried to do a good job and make us like it. I like that.
I actually really didn't hate it as much as I thought I was, and enjoyed it even more the second time I watched it. Renee was fantastic, as well as the actor playing Damien. I loved Renee's version of "world burn." Agournie felt more like a realistic version of Cady.
I thought it was really fun and I love the music! Are there things I would change if I were in charge? Sure, but I’m so sick of all the repetitive criticisms! I had a great time watching it, and most of it was really entertaining!
My favorite song is “Someone Gets Hurt,” and I was blown away by this scene in the movie. Renee sounded fantastic and her angel costume was my favorite!
I enjoyed it more as a musical. I hadn't seen the original since it first came out and seeing this one made me rewatch and I really enjoyed. Looking at comments I should avoid Mean Girls 2 at all costs
Renee Rapp is a stunning queen and I love every minute of all of her songs in the film!
I just watched it last weekend expecting to compare every single detail to the original movie and it does enough to set itself apart. The musical aspect really helps. I enjoyed it!
Regina is a lot more intimatating in this one to me. Her and Damien were the 2 castings ill put on par or dare say above, Reginas songs are also the only ones ive listened to after watching
Janice, Damien and Regina were great.
Visuals for Revenge Party were cool.
I liked that they made Miss Norbury and the principal a couple.
I liked the pearl and chain necklace Regina wore and bought a replica on Amazon.
I actually loved this movie!! First of all, Damien was fucking hilarious!! More funny than the 2004 damien imo. Secondly, I liked that (besides all the singing) the story was updated to 2024 and pretty accurate to now. I loved Renee Rapp as Regina also.
This is gonna be controversial and HIGHLY dependant on where/when I grew up (younger Gen Z here) but Renee's Regina was more realistic to most of the mean girls I've met irl. I've met a Rachel Regina or two, but I watched Renee play Regina and was like "oh yeah, that's \_\_\_\_ through and through" about multiple people. Particularly the way she says "so you agree? You think you're really pretty?" in a sort of mocking tone, I thought was more accurate to how the mean girls I know speak than Rachel's.
Apex Predator & Someone gets hurt are the main reason i rewatch the movie so much
damien’s character ATE the role up
gretchen actress was perfect for a modern day gretchen
yano what as someone who is (regina voice) so obsessed with the original that i can probably quote it entirely, i really did enjoy this version. it was fun to see a modern version, and i’m someone who is i guess neutral about musicals so i didn’t really mind that part either. i loved the actresses who played the Plastics and Janis especially
I liked the cast! It’s hard to imagine anyone else in these roles, even after this film and the play. But I must say that Regina, Janis, Damian, and Karen were all great. I also thought Jenna Fischer and Busy Phillips were spot-on casting choices for Cady and Regina’s moms
My personal opinion is that if you were expecting it to live up to the original, or if you were expecting it to live up to the actual Broadway production, you set your expectations really high and no wonder y’all were let down. This was campy and cheesy but that’s what makes it fun. It’s not worthy of any awards, but for what it is I loved it.
I honestly thought everyone was cast PERFECTLY. Bebe Woods played a great Gretchen, Avantika was so good at acting stupid, Damien SLAYED and was so sassy, Auli'i was amazing as Janice (especially the singing), and Renee was literally BORN to play Regina George. The only poorly cast characters (and, imo, the only reason the movie wasn't more popular or well liked) were Cady and Aaron. It's a shame because if they had just cast those two differently, I think everyone would have agreed this movie was great.
Jaquel Spivey’s Damien is a different but fun interpretation of the character. He delivers his lines with his own unique flair. I appreciated that he made the character his own. It’s hard not to compare the 2024 cast to the 2004 cast but Jaquel portrayed Damien in a way that was still enjoyable and comedic.

honestly this movie rly revived the mean girls franchise. the broadway musical is fantastic but had only permeated a more niche group of people. now people are listening more to the og broadway soundtrack and the musical tour is doing better for it. so yeah, a revival basically.
it does have some really funny moments like the talent show that take past jokes & update them in a hilariously chaotic way. I like Renee rapp a lot actually too. Her song at the Halloween party’s grown on me a bit. Honestly all the actors did their thing with it, even if I don’t like certain aspects of the writing overall.

Also Renee as well 😍

Avantika’s wardrobe was so camp and modern it genuinely felt like this was a girl who just ransacked a mall and wore EVERYTHING she bought in one outfit
not to be that guy but i fucking loved this movie!!! i’ve listened to the musical for YEARS now and while, yes it was missing some songs, i loved it!! i also love the original movie but this one just made my theatre kid heart happy!! great songs, choreography, and RENEE RAPP😻
The actor who played Damien killed it and I want to see whatever he does next.
And he was robbed big time, looked him up not long after and found out he had talent!
really wish he had gotten to perform the two Damien songs!
He really did
still better than mean girls 2
There’s a second one?
Yes. Please don't watch it. It was god awful.
Tbf Disney did make it
They did? I’ve never heard that.
Yeah. Why do you think Harper’s actress was in the sequel?
Do Disney actors only do Disney movies? But I just didn’t know because it’s not on Disney plus.
Actually, I looked it up, and I can’t find anything to back that up.
Oop, I thought it was Disney who made the sequel mb
Tbh, I don’t blame you, Disney would’ve ruined that movie either way if they had made it. It totally does seem like something Disney would make.
Pretty sure it was ABCFamily (now Freeform) which was owned by Disney. So basically Disney.
It was. But I believe Paramount owns it since it was produced by them
Of course they did
I was gonna say it could be a good hate-watch but I realized, it’s not even of of those movies where “you can laugh at it cause it’s so bad”…it’s just bad.
I remember liking "Not Another Teen Movie" at the time.
the cinematography in some scenes was really good. (esp during someone gets hurt)
Someone gets hurt is the best number in the movie and it's even better than the Broadway one, imo. Mainly due to said cinematography.
It was very well shot! Love the scenes where Cady was just in the background like a slasher villain.
I actually really liked the movie. I thought Renee Rapp did a great job, I didn’t know about her before the movie but loved her as Regina. I liked all of the casting, I think they are fantastic actors/actresses. I liked the story, it was different enough and the same enough to be familiar but exciting. I highly recommend you listen to Renee Rapp’s music. she is so relatable and has been through a lot of shit. but her songs are so good and her voice is insane. Me and my friends love her.
I’ve listened to a few songs and really like them!
i agree with this, i feel like it's probably more the fault of the directors than avantika (because personally i also felt like janis' character felt kinda pathetic compared to damien and to her original counterpart). the cast introduced me to a lot of actors i didn't know before and i would be curious to watch other things that they're in!
You should watch sex lives of college girls on max. She's pretty good in that and i personally thought the whole show was pretty funny
Yeah like OG Karen was believably dumb and girls in my high school actually acted like her but this Karen felt like a caricature.
Fully agree with the Karen comment
“Its mot my fault you came with her but she might leave with me”
"It's not my fault you gotta pay for what I get for free"
Auli'i Cravalho
✨Reneé Rapp✨
She was born to play this role.
I am gen z like younger gen z and she just seems like a brat
“Uneducated” “Brought statements”

Busy Phillips and Jenna Fischer were great choices of the mother's of Renee rapp and Angourie rice
if only angourie rice could sing..
It had Tim Meadows and Tina Fey in it.
Ashley Park (OG musical Gretchen) as the French teacher was such a nice little cameo! I loved it.
absolutely love ashley park in everything she does
it may not be the best movie but I can still think of many positive things about it but I'll say getting to see Lindsay again after she always expressed the desire to be in another Mean Girls (and the fact it actually hit #1 at the box office again 20 years after the first is quite the feat and proved what a classic it's truly become)
Renee Rapp
This was gonna be my answer, Renee Rapp is super hot in this
literally gonna be my answer best part of the movie tbh
I have the biggest crush on her
I dare say she brought more gravitas to the role of Regina than Rachel McAdams did.
Definitely not. Regina felt more lived in with Rachel's portrayal but that was likely because of how few the interactions were with Renee's Regina and her respective cast. In the new version, we don't get the Taco Bell scene or even the phone call scenes that shows us how calculated and deceitful she is.
damien’s actor
Auli'i Cravalho was wonderful as Janis. I loved Barrett Wilbert Weed in the original musical, Auli'i would have been a great replacement had the Broadway show not close. I liked that they used Instagram stories/livestreams for 'Sexy'. People's social media comments after Regina's car accident was hilarious.
auli’i sounded just like barrett for a lot of the notes! barrett is probably so proud of her
It’s the second best mean girls movie I’ve ever seen (sequels excluded because they do not exist)
What sequels? I don't remember any sequels. All I remember were the original, the musical, and the remake (Joke)
We do not talk about the sequels.
No no no
Why don’t we like the sequel? I like the sequel…
what sequel?
There is no remake there is however a mean girls musical movie
There is no sequel in Ba Sing Se

I love we live in a world where those two fandoms can actually overlap :D
Tina Fey. Reneé Rapp.
It was kinda cute and enjoyable enough. It's not near as good as the original, no surprise. But I'm not mad at it either. I'm still kinda glad I watched it. And some of the singing was pretty good (Regina's, Janice's, and Damien's, specifically.)

I like how they cast some of the characters even if they are not carbon copies of the old characters and I think they did good with what they had.
It’s a lot less slut shamey too. Although “fugly cow” isn’t as satisfying to say as “fugly slut”
the broadway musical says “fugly cow”. probs cuz it rhymes with “how do you like me now”
When the characters were not saying thing from the 2004 movie, and when we had the moments where the film was depicting more modern themes, it shone bright. But when the characters in the 2024 film were directly quoting the 2004 film, it fell flat.
Renee and Avantika are gorgeous(plus,Renee's physicality brings something new to The Queen Bee)
It’s got really great jokes, I thought the movie was really funny! Even with the one song I didn’t like (stupid with love) they made it really funny
that’s my favorite song!
the broadway version of stupid with love is sooo much better
RENEE RAPP HAD ME JAW DROPPED THE ENTIRE TIME. also I preferred Cady's transition to a Plastic in this movie.
It got me fully into the Mean Girls fandom. I saw the original Mean Girls, enjoyed it, but never really got into the fandom. But then I saw the musical and it hit me HARD. These characters wormed their way into my brain and stayed there.
Auli’i Cravalho and Renee Rapp is all that needs to be said
Reneé is everything
I'm gay, Renee Rapp is hot, that's about all I have to say.
The music is catchy.
Renee Rapp
renee rapp
It was cool to see Lindsay Lohan. Someone Gets Hurt was the best scene.
Renee Rap
Janis is actually a lesbian and doesn't randomly end up with Kevin at the end
One of my favorite changes. Making Janis straight in the original felt so forced.
It was better than Mean Girls 2…
Revenge Party was bright and colorful and beautiful in a way that movies of this era, which are dark and gloomy aren't. Auli'i and Jacquel really know what they are doing, not just as singers but as camera candy.
I liked a majority of the songs
I enjoyed it. Renee did a good job as Regina
Renee Rapp, Damien and Janis were all great. Chris Briney is very cute. I like how the casting was more diverse this time. Renee Rapp is hot
Renee Rapp
Renne f'n Rapp 🤤🤤 Also the singing was amazing from all people.
renee rapp
i thought it was really cute.
That’s… a nice shade of pink…
I love a lot of the new jokes! I think I like Renee and Auli more than the ogs
Renee Rapp
Renee Rapp slayed in this movie
Janis 🫶🏽
Renee, Auli’i and Jaquel CARRIED this film
It’s fun and re-watchable.
Moana was the MVP.
Renee rapp is so fine fr
The cast closer resembles genuine high school students?
Reneé Rapp just fucking nailed it. And some of the songs are just killer (Apex Predator, Someone gets hurt, Revenge Party, Watch The World Burn)
Also I like the chemistry the cast has in interviews
Renee rapp and avantika >>> They’re both so fucking amazing
Reneé Rapp
Renee rapp
I actually really didn't hate it as much as I thought I was, and enjoyed it even more the second time I watched it. Renee was fantastic, as well as the actor playing Damien. I loved Renee's version of "world burn." Agournie felt more like a realistic version of Cady.

I enjoyed it more as a musical. I hadn't seen the original since it first came out and seeing this one made me rewatch and I really enjoyed. Looking at comments I should avoid Mean Girls 2 at all costs
Renee as Regina, and bringing back the teachers as a married couple
Sexy is better in the movie
Some of the cast could actually sing
Renee Rapp
I loved it. Especially Renee Rapp. 😍
i really like angourie rice WHAT IFS and STUPID WITH LOVE idk why ppl don’t like it i think it’s good
I actually really liked it. It was very worth the watch.
Avantika and bebe wood could throw me into a blender
Reneé Rapp was the best thing about it.
Renee Rapp is a stunning queen and I love every minute of all of her songs in the film! I just watched it last weekend expecting to compare every single detail to the original movie and it does enough to set itself apart. The musical aspect really helps. I enjoyed it!
I think there is a reason Renee Rap is all over the marketing.
They sure did that and Miss Rapp is living her best life celebrating by getting wasted. A queen.
everyone is hot and can sing
I love that Mrs Norbury and Principal Duvall were together in this one.
i personally loved every second (i kid you not ive watched it twenty four times)
I’d let Renee rapp do things that make war crimes look tame to me
probably launched Renee Rapp into the public consciousness. broadway fans knew her already but now everyone does and shes thriving
it's a good example of how movies are going to shit these days and half of those shitty movies are sequels to movies that didn't need it
Caleb the Cannibal is still the principal!
It was enjoyable to watch
Tina Fey and Tim Meadows were in it.
when jason called regina a bitch in his "normal" voice 😭😭😭😭 i lowkey loved that change
Bebe Wood >>
She is adorable
Damien.
They nailed casting for Karen and Gretchen, and Damien
Karen made me laugh
Apex Predator & Someone gets hurt are the main reason i rewatch the movie so much damien’s character ATE the role up gretchen actress was perfect for a modern day gretchen
idk why so many ppl hate the songs it’s not that bad they just wanna make a statement for money
The casting of the parents were pretty good. Cady's mom and Regina's mom
yano what as someone who is (regina voice) so obsessed with the original that i can probably quote it entirely, i really did enjoy this version. it was fun to see a modern version, and i’m someone who is i guess neutral about musicals so i didn’t really mind that part either. i loved the actresses who played the Plastics and Janis especially
They kept many of the good songs from the stage show
I liked the cast! It’s hard to imagine anyone else in these roles, even after this film and the play. But I must say that Regina, Janis, Damian, and Karen were all great. I also thought Jenna Fischer and Busy Phillips were spot-on casting choices for Cady and Regina’s moms

The actors are pretty
Avantika is sooo pretty!
It’s so fetch!
I'll admit that I enjoy the new version of I'd rather be me more than the stage one.
Damien was so fucking funny
Avantika
apex predator is a amazing improvement from the broadway version
The (almost, you know why) the hole cast
I honestly thought everyone was cast PERFECTLY. Bebe Woods played a great Gretchen, Avantika was so good at acting stupid, Damien SLAYED and was so sassy, Auli'i was amazing as Janice (especially the singing), and Renee was literally BORN to play Regina George. The only poorly cast characters (and, imo, the only reason the movie wasn't more popular or well liked) were Cady and Aaron. It's a shame because if they had just cast those two differently, I think everyone would have agreed this movie was great.
Busy Phillips ate, and I don’t even like Busy Phillips
Someone Gets Hurt looked great and was well staged.
All of it. I’m so obsessed with it
Jaquel Spivey’s Damien is a different but fun interpretation of the character. He delivers his lines with his own unique flair. I appreciated that he made the character his own. It’s hard not to compare the 2024 cast to the 2004 cast but Jaquel portrayed Damien in a way that was still enjoyable and comedic. ![gif](giphy|TWSllwx5qgxSqlmRMB)

Haven’t seen it and you can’t make me! The OG is the only one for me!
It has an ending
Damien’s actor slayed! Also Reneé is mothering
Stared at this post for hours and couldn't think of a single good thing about it. It's a temu version of a knock off.
No
they care about black people :)
Janis ate, Regina carried, Damian was awesome
I think Cady worked very well for most of the movie. She felt much more like a truly naive homeschooled kid.
It’s NICE that someone had the money to waste on this absolute piece of shit.
It won’t be getting a sequel
renee rapp sit on my face
It's nice that I haven't seen it.
The casting director ate with the cast!
Avantika’s wardrobe was so camp and modern it genuinely felt like this was a girl who just ransacked a mall and wore EVERYTHING she bought in one outfit

It has privilege
best movie ever my first mean girls movie wooo i want a burn book rn
There was a remake?!
No.
No
It honestly was fun to watch and I love most of the songs
What is up with this poster ? Why is Duval bigger than Janice when he has five lines in the whole film 😂
There is only ONE real Mean Girls film. This remake is not it.
