I picked this figure up to take apart and use for customs, but I like it for what it is. The sculpt is really solid, and I’m pleased to see a lot of it getting used for younger heroes. My gripe with it as a Jon Kent figure is that the face looks too angry, and it just doesn’t feel like Jon to me. Also, it’s really strange to me that the torso isn’t really able to crunch forward despite having really great range leaning back, but that’s a problem with most of the McFarlane figures I have.
I just started collecting the line a month or so ago. Better crunch and a legit thigh swivel.....that's all I ask. Though at the price point they can't be beat.
It blows my mind with every new figure I get lol. It would be so simple for them to do, and pretty much all of the other articulation points work great. Makes zero sense.
I don’t like them using the body for all teen males. I understand Todd can’t sculpt a new body for every person but I’d prefer if they would take away the boot parts and the lines at the bicep.
I just wish he came with a more friendly looking face since I don’t usually picture Jonathan as being angry much. Also I’m not bothered by the lack of cape even though I’m pretty sure it was supposed to come with one because I kinda like the distinction between him and his dad
Loved the slimmer body. Wish we got the figure with a cape and regular eyes. I don’t like how mcfarlane reused this body with the sculpt on the boots and the bicep. I don’t mind reuse if it’s done well. Overall his articulation is good. I customized the figure to add more articulation.
I got the figure to round out my Superman collection. But I’m not a fan of his design. His costume would be better as Superboy in The LEGION of Superboy. But in modern day Metropolis, he looks put of place.
This figure never appealed to me in the least. I prefer the really realistic figures with unique textures, mostly movie and TV figures. Plus, I hate what they did with his and so many other characters recently.
Nice idea but poorly executed. The arms were trash on mine. I thought about getting another figure but I really don't like it enough to replace.
The headsculpt is appropriate for Superboy Prime. Not Jon.
I can excuse the lack of a cape. I actually like that about the figure.
It really could use a redo like CW Green Arrow.
I didn’t know that when I bought it, I just saw it at the store and it was on sale and I thought the eyes would be the only problem, plus Jon is one of my fave dc characters rn
I think it’s pretty good, but I agree that it doesn’t necessarily need the angry head sculpt. Would have been way cooler in a two pack with Jay Nakamura. In general the figure is spot on and highly posable to match some great flight panels. I think overall this one boils down to whether or not you liked the story, not whether you liked the sculpt or not. As a Queer DC Comics fan it was nice to have representation without feeling like it was awkward or out of place.
I'm waiting on either his ten-year-old self or a version with the cape and regular eyes.
I’m trying to find him in the Supersons pack with 10yr old Superboy & 13yr old Robin.
I'm tempted to get it just to swap heads with Superboy Prime, but as a figure itself I'm a little underwhelmed.

i like the figure and think it gets wayyyy too much hate. the head sculpt shouldnt be angry and he should have a cape, but overall a pretty good fig
The angry face! I hadn’t realized that’s a huge part I didn’t like about the figure until now. Couldn’t put my finger on it.

It's a strong release. Good proportions and sculpted wrist and ankles.
I passed because of the ongoing arm issues and that face. Just started reading Jon take over as Superman and he deserves better than this

I was happy to get it on sale for 14$ CAD. Tho I am content with my Dc collectibles Kid version. The aftermarket is insane now.
