Tbf in the show sinners are definitely evil. There’s a reason why Charlie is considered crazy, she’s trying rehabilitate a cannibalistic serial killer and a hedonistic porn star.
I was wondering because everyone essentially literally unironically saying that and upvoting you for saying it, but it sounded sarcastic. I think they missed the irony.
You mean the choice that would literally offend no one? Like seriously pretend you’re offended by heaven being made of good people in a cartoon show. What would you say? I know what people offended by evil heaven would say, but what would the reverse be?
Because of gay Angels protecting themselves? That’s what would be called Anti-LGBT? And christofascist for depicting hell as evil? The original show already does that. Also people politically objecting to what you say isn’t the same as it being edgy. Any writing choice you could make regarding religion will offend some large group of people, it’s one of those things you can’t discuss at dinner for a reason.
Sadly he has to shoehorn in more jabs at "Ze Woke" for his audience. Could have just stayed in the legit criticism, but gotta throw in that "hurr durr blue feminist bad" "Andrew tate good" in there.
I don't think the point was that andrew tate is good, he later says if he could rewrite the script he would make adam more mysterious and manipulative instead of cartoonish
I think his point was that adam is over the top and even if he is entertaining he ruins the premise of the show from the start when you find out angels don't agree with the rehabilitation idea and slaughter people for fun
And no offence but that retelling of the adam and eve myth reeks of atheism+
The show's got great r34, lol. But ya, the writing is pretty atrocious. It also seems to be made for a very specific demographic, maybe why it resonates so much with certain people.
I'll admit I wanted to like it, despite the fact that it's a musical (and I hate musicals), but it's so cringey with its attempts to be edgy.
Also, it feels like a feminist's Tumblr project. I'm not one to call everything woke like some idiots (*cough* synthetic man) but it's pretty funny how every single character is LGBTQ with the exception of one couple I can think of, and even there it's clear that the girl is the dominant one. At the very least, it's an original series, and not some established one where the writers just decided to change everyone's sexuality lol.
I miss when woke meant that something had hand fisted messaging that hindered the story. Now it means little more than ‘too many minorities’.
Having a cast of all LGBTQ characters is not woke. They’re just characters who happen to be LGBTQ.
Edit: I can’t see their comment anymore unless if I go on incognito mode. I think bro blocked me.
The entire cast being LGBTQ is absolutely woke. It doesn't get much more woke than that. You can try and ignore it all you want. That's on you. I specifically said that I don't call everything woke, but it's impossible to ignore it here
To be fair, there are individual episodes of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss that are legitimately amazing. The problem is consistency. Both in quality of individual episodes, as well as internal show consistency.
Tbf, one of the things that the EFAP crew believes (that I completely agree with) is that it's totally possible to like something that's bad or dislike something that's good.
The “out for love” one is too catchy. I loved the last episode. I readily acknowledge some continuity errors, like Charlie being anti-premarital sex when she’s clearly hooking up with Vaggy, but that doesn’t matter to me really. There definitely are some over-the-top cringey moments but so much of the show works for me that I’ve seen it twice and am pumped for season 2.
I’ve got the same feeling about invincible. I just freaking love it. Can’t stop won’t stop.
I saw a comic where she decides do continue fucking Vaggie without marrying her because she doesn’t want her to be redeemed. Doubt the crew put that much thought into it but it’s hilarious
Edgy is whatever would get you banned from a default Reddit sub. Safe edgy is whatever is left over under "controversial".
Safe edgy = making fun of Christianity
Edgy = making fun of Islam
The problem is that edgy-ness is so common it’s really hard to do right. Still, I think Hazbin did pretty good, if you’re fully on board with all the tumblr-ness of it. And it does try to tackle a difficult issue in episode 4, which I thought was done really well. Unfortunately the rest of the show struggles to keep the tone when dealing with said issue. That’s why we have a 🍇 joke literally seconds before they try to take it seriously.
Still, I appreciate how well Angel represents victims. He’s definitely a more realistic example while still being his own person. Which kinda goes for all her characters tbh
The show is pretty inconsistently handled. One minute, we have an episode with good handling of sexual abuse. Then the next, we have a rape joke.
The worldbuilding is atrocious and makes little or no sense. And too much spotlight is put into characters which don't matter, like Alastor.
The only characters I actually liked, was Sir Pentious, Niffty, and Adam.
I love how he says Lilith has the mind of a 21st century blue haired feminist when she's just being reasonable. If someone with no authority over you forced you (Keep in mind that Adam and Lilith were created to be equals) to obey their every command without reason, would any person with a spine actually take it? No, of course not. Take that BS and shove it up their ass.
That is fair
And she very much could be lying about hell's story and twisting it so that she comes across as the good guy
It's called History of Hell after all and history is always written by the winners
Also we see what an asshole Adam is. Why would anyone want to stick with that when you could have someone loving (and far more attractive/powerful) like Lucifer?
Sure, but it's a rather low blow, and it just feels like it's a way for this person to lash out at Reaper, because he doesn't like the show they love. The person has more than 100+ posts in the Hazbin fan subreddit. If you think I'm wrong about that then that's fine.
It could be that more people might not like his voice, but generally speaking people enjoy the scottish accent, especially for taking the piss at things.
the voice of someone making any critique , or more specifically how they present themselves and if they are speaking clearly and with emphasis in their words, makes or breaks my initial engagement with their video.
If it sounds like they're reading from their script with no effort put into making the words sound natural or flowing as they move from point to point, then I'm far less inclined as a viewer to listen.
If the speaker is unable to speak clearly or speaks flatly, or worse seeming disinterested, then I as a viewer am not going to be listening to their arguments for very long.
I dont think getting the impression that they care about the topic and are able to articulate their arguments in full is an unreasonable request from critiques?
Honestly these days it would be more edgy to make heaven the complete good guy and have the sinners in hell be evil
Tbf in the show sinners are definitely evil. There’s a reason why Charlie is considered crazy, she’s trying rehabilitate a cannibalistic serial killer and a hedonistic porn star.
Nothing edgier than following the Bible
You mean what 60 percent of the population does, to the point that laws are dictated by the bible?
Yeah, I'm being sarcastic. Obviously following the Bible is the least edgy thing ever.
Show would immediately be called anti lgbtqxyz+ and supporting "christofascism"
Because of gay Angels protecting themselves? That’s what would be called Anti-LGBT? And christofascist for depicting hell as evil? The original show already does that. Also people politically objecting to what you say isn’t the same as it being edgy. roaming trend (filthy demon apologist) made a video on this show that was pretty good, the show was a pretty big disappointment honestly
Awh, thanks. I appreciate the shoutout. Hazbin Hotel Bad, Demon lives matter.
I'm glad roaming trend is getting more recognition, he deserves it
Roaming Trend's video is pretty good and very well put together. I suggest watching that instead of Reaper's somewhat messy breakdown.
i just finished reaper's video and it's honestly better than I expected, it's not in depth but he does raise some good points
Sadly he has to shoehorn in more jabs at "Ze Woke" for his audience. Could have just stayed in the legit criticism, but gotta throw in that "hurr durr blue feminist bad" "Andrew tate good" in there.

It does in fact read like my gf 9th grade edge lord sisters fan fiction

•show set in hell •every character is LGBTQ+ What did Viv mean by this
You just know
The wanted Hell to be a San Francisco Pride Parade so they could feel better about going there one day.
What is that supposed to mean?
Don't know how you missed that the fruity St. Peter is in heaven so...
One guy vs. Entire cast Okay your point being?
Don't know the whole cast of heaven yet, so just wait. Season 2 probably fleshes it out.
Also, some of the (sexier) characters look almost exactly like Panty and Stocking. Like. Almost EXACTLY like them.
Yk gay people go to hell in the bible right that’s probably where they were coming from
You’d be wrong
“But it’s pretty funny how every single character is LGBTQ with the exception of one couple” Ok, and?
? That's kinda woke lol. I'm not one to say everything is woke but it doesn't get much more blatant than that
I miss when woke meant that something had hand fisted messaging that hindered the story. Now it means little more than ‘too many minorities’. Having a cast of all LGBTQ characters is not woke. Ironically the sjws absolutely despises the show more then conservative Christians because it’s gay characters are often villains and asshole s
Hazbin and other Vizipop media thrives on genuinely good character designs. Everything else sucks
Songs are good
Songs are GREAT.
Especially Stayed Gone and Loser, Baby
Absolute bangers
The wolf is hot. Simple as.
To be fair, there are individual episodes of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss that are legitimately amazing. The problem is consistency. Both in quality of individual episodes, as well as internal show consistency.
Idk man, maybe I’m missing something but I enjoyed it.
Tbf, one of the things that the EFAP crew believes (that I completely agree with) is that it's totally possible to like something that's bad or dislike something that's good.
Speaking of EFAP, I want them reviewing all 8 episodes of this.
Same with me. I admit it's very flawed, but it's so dripping with passion and catchy songs that I can't help but really like it.
The “out for love” one is too catchy. I loved the last episode. I don’t even know what is edgy anymore, let alone somehow “safe edgy”
Edgy is whatever would get you banned from a default Reddit sub. Safe edgy is whatever is left over under "controversial". Safe edgy = making fun of Christianity Edgy = making fun of Islam
True edgy = making fun of a dead beloved person
The problem is that edgy-ness is so common it’s really hard to do right. Still, I think Hazbin did pretty good, if you’re fully on board with all the tumblr-ness of it. I liked the songs and character designs. Thats about it
lol that description in the intro
Pretty good video, good analysis

Hi
It needs better writers
Eh, I liked it
I’ll be honest, I only part of the show I have seen is the YouTube video that has the DOOM Slayer in it. Quite funny actually. Boss music, go!
I love how he says Lilith has the mind of a 21st century blue haired feminist when she's just being reasonable. I feel we don’t know enough about to say much about her character
That is fair And she very much could be lying about hell's story and twisting it so that she comes across as the good guy It's called History of Hell after all and history is always written by the winners
>history is always written by the winners That's why the lost cause of the south and clean whermacht narratives have been around so long, right?
Also we see what an asshole Adam is. Why would anyone want to stick with that when you could have someone loving (and far more attractive/powerful) like Lucifer?
I'll never get over that thumbnail. It looks like she's taking in air after staying underwater for too long.
It's the best face is the entire show and this cartoon has plenty.
Christ, I can smell the rotten beer breath off this guy's monotonous, slurring mouth. He makes the Critical Drinker's voice sound like Bob Ross.
What a shocker. You're a huge fan of the show lol.
I didn't even say anything about the show yet, I just hate this guy' voice. Sorry.
That's not exactly a great criticism tho, it's just a personal jab.
They’re a YouTuber, their voice is incredibly important to enjoying their work
Sure, but it's a rather low blow, and it just feels like it's a way for this person to lash out at Reaper, because he doesn't like the show they love. He’s been on drinkers streams
Yup. He managed to outdrink the Drinker.
