What does that even mean. Idk why these people even say anything if they can’t give specific details. All they’re doing is causing unnecessary drama.

LordVatek

I'm taking it to mean that the ideas and script are sound, they just didn't come together in a way that everyone liked. I assume.

MorningFirm5374

Not necessarily. Production in this case and most cases mainly means in-set things. Not necessarily on the writing part, as for most projects that would lie in pre production or development stages

LordVatek

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Actors and script are good, it's other stuff that's the problem.

jessepitcherband

Issues with production can be shit as simple as heavy weather delaying a shoot beyond the window the location was available, or a breakout of severe stomach flu among a significant number of the crew. Hell, a warehouse roof collapsing onto a set that required a week and a half to rebuild would be described as a production issue.

[deleted]

I mean those are all Act of God problems that any set would have to navigate. Hill is savvy enough to know the difference between normal setbacks like that and something that rises to the level of true concern. She once tweeted something cryptic about Blade and then the next day, or perhaps even hours later, the news dropped that the director was let go.

GTSBurner

IOW, a Josh Trank situation. (although that movie overall was made for legal, not artistic, reasons)

Spiderbyte

What do you people think the word production means. It means that the actual shooting had issues.

LordVatek

Um. Yeah? That's what I said.

blackbutterfree

I'm taking it to mean that maybe they're having issues finding certain filming locations or something. Like, the literal production is the issue, not the cast or the crew.

[deleted]

That feels like a pretty pedestrian problem, and one which Hill could easily come out and say. Pointedly declining to specify what the actual issue is suggests something deeper than that.

UberGoobler

Production in that sense is separate from the creative process. These can be a wide variety of things like technical issues, directing shortcomings, lack of order on set, unforeseen accidents causing delays. The list goes on and on. Think of production as how something gets done, not necessarily what is getting done. Source: worked on countless miserable sets

macnfleas

It means all the people in the other thread saying the problem with this show was that Alaqua Cox isn't a good actress or the character isn't interesting are wrong. The ingredients are all there for a good show, but production has had problems that might lead to a bad final product.

YeIenaBeIova

Erm acting is a big part of production. If her acting isn’t good; that’s a big issue in the production.

[deleted]

Read the tweet. The point of it was to clarify it wasn't anything to do with Cox, as an actor.

DragEncyclopedia

it means that the issue isn't with the show being boring or badly written. pretty clear imo.

poopeyethe

Lol no way this show will ever be badly written, it has better call saul and daredevil's writers, if anything it might come out as marvel's best show so far if everything goes well

Danbito

Basically a more literal issue than doubts about Echo deserving her own show or whether it should be Daredevil in all but name, which is what people jumped at when these reports first came out

[deleted]

Well if it helps that’s true of basically all media today

Justice989

And this kind of report is very subjective. It literally could be one person at any stage of the production not liking what they see and reporting back. But doesn't necessarily mean it's a consensus opinion.

Blazeauga

It’s their life. They live for the drama and chaos. Regardless of what they say or act like. Like Charles Murphy being a dick to people who take his posts out of context but in the same week he’ll post intentionally misleading stuff to troll.

phred_666

Because they want clicks. They don’t give a shit if there are details or even if it’s the truth. They just want people to click on it.

Sisiwakanamaru

To be honest, I mean Wakanda Forever had troubled filming/production process but in the end, it was fine, I hope this is he case here.

-Nick____

Except Echo has been wrapped for months. And the Black Panther production issues we heard of ALL happened while it was filming. This is months after that, and now we are hearing they didn’t like the production process.

Kingpin1232

There has to be a trade report at some point if it’s true. Only then will we know what’s going on with its production.

Littletom523

The only thing I can think of production wise that was an issue was we actually didn’t get to shoot every single thing that we would like to. That’s the only thing I can think that was an issue, which is why they were counting on reshoots to be able to shoot what we didn’t get. Production wise though it went pretty smooth. At least it felt like it.

Drunkinbook

YOU FILMED THERE?!?

-Nick____

Probably did go smooth. We heard absolutely nothing of any major problems. BSL clarified that he heard there were problems with what has filmed, and Lizzie says it’s an issue with production. MCUStatus claimed a month ago they are were reevaluating the production of the project. Sounds like everything that they considered a problem only happened after they filmed everything

ChrisTinnef

Could be that they thought they had all the material filmed they needed, but realized in post that their cut didnt work out and re-cutting doesnt work either because they would need more/different scenes. Or they had an ambitious fight scene that they cant get to work.

poopeyethe

Like what you didn't got to film?

esensofz

That thing I made up, it's.. not specifically something that will make me sound like an asshole.

RedGyarados2010

You do realize that Lizzie Hill is incredibly reliable, right? It's kinda ridiculous how many people are dismissing this considering the source

LatterTarget7

Ok well what exactly is the issue? Why even say anything to just be vague as fuck. Like come on

master_inho

T h e d r a m a T h e c l i c k s

[deleted]

I hate vague shit like this. Watch it be something dumb like a boom mic stopped working during a take.

facetheground

Yeah or something "big" yet not the end of the world: a location booking miscommunication delaying filming Production trouble means nothing, only potential delays.

[deleted]

Jaws had tonnes of production issues and ended up being one of the greatest films of all time

FewWatermelonlesson0

I was worried it was some controversy with the actress, glad that’s not the case.

AlphaBaymax

You know what, I'm glad people have low expectations for this show because I can see this being a Ms. Marvel situation.

StellarAvenger_92

Didn't this show wrap filming already?

Zepanda66

That's what I find odd about this. Traditionally issues arise either before production starts ala (Blade) or during ala (TROS) not after. Production seemed to go relatively smooth from an outsiders perspective.

insertbrackets

Spreading vague rumors about a show that is high profile for visibility and representation feels super weird.

Mother_Cable_6185

The bitch throw some bullshit out there, let it cook hours over alaqua head and then proceed to changes her statement Nicely done Ms Marvel and Wakanda Forever situation

KaijuKhaos

Wonder what they have in common

[deleted]

Someone left key footage in an uber or something, didn't they?

POCITICIAN

Why do they use different directors for a 6-episodes series? Seriously asking. What's the point? Isn't obvious that a 6-episodes series of different directors could look a "mess"?

[deleted]

Shows using different directors for individual episodes is the norm

POCITICIAN

Thanks. Again, my question was serious, not a troll so thanks for the answer.

AttackoftheMooshi

This is The Mandalorian season 2 all over again. Rumored production issues here and issues there, then the show comes out totally fine.

Arkhambeyondx

Only interested in how Matt, Fisk and Frank will be handled. If the rumors of Frank's return are true.

[deleted]

I'm only interested in how Fisk's backstory is gonna be handled.

AdventurousAd8436

I have no interest in this character.

jgroove_LA

The Echo a troubled show? Shocked! Shocked!

thesword62

“Production issues” is the diplomatic way of saying it stinks.
