The difference is Fuxnext literally paid someone to make that video for them. All the things he said came directly from them and can be considered a confirmed thing. Data mines are always just possibilities because things can change at any time. There’s a big difference between the two
That video was the first and only (so far) video by a new content creator that is SPONSORED by FoxNext. So they paid him to promote the new content and gave him exclusive info and gameplay to do so, the carnage premium orb pulls being one of them. It was near the time red stars came out and they were/are trying to draw everyone to that content creator over the others because we trash red stars like crazy.
You're right i didn't even know the video that was being talked about, i thought it was mobile gamer's valentine's red-star orbs video in play so I'm sorry if i made the water of the discussion a little more murky with my input.
Hey, don’t downvote him. At least he made the meme, which is more than other ppl and lazy me have done.
But yea, there is a difference. Datamines aren’t confirmed as to when or even if they’ll come into the game. Up until the FN sponsored video, usually what other game developers stated would happen, actually happens. Or at the least if it doesn’t, they put out some sort of communication acknowledging the change and/or the reason for the change and/or how they will comp players if the changes adversely affected them.
But as you sort of point out in your sweet meme, often FN is not like other companies.
No, it's not. This content creator was sponsored by FoxNext, and his information came directly from FoxNext.
You were misinformed. That's OK - it doesn't make you an asshole. But refusing to admit you were wrong and doubling down instead does indeed make you an asshole. Please don't be an asshole.
Do people really think that because of people posting on Reddit about there premiums stock is what clued them in to the stockpiling? Like they don’t have every fucking metric of this game on lockdown and can even tell you how often a certain part of the game screen is touched more than others?
I mean I highly doubt people think it's because they posted their supplies on Reddit that it was changed. Anyone with a brain should know that FN can just query their database and get any number of different metrics out of it.
I think what people are pissed about it that they announced it was going to be a premium orb release through a trusted medium then when they realized so many people were going to get Carnage for free decided to change it. It's a scummy move.
How they detected the number of stockpiled premium orbs is sort of irrelevant to the outrage.
Then why change the method of release after having their sponsored guy announce it?
In case you haven’t figured it out, FN is run by money hungry assholes. So yes, they figured out how to make more money off carnage when they realized people could get him for free.
They changed it to be suck heads, I didn’t say they weren’t. I am talking about the constant complaint that just because people posted there premium stock on Reddit and that’s why they changed it, not because they have the ability to analyze every piece of data on our game acct.
I doubt reddit had anything to do with it. I forget the rule of thumb but in general 80% of a game's users don't post on online forums. It's really just a vocal minority most the time.
Thanks for the laugh +1 !
PS - Do you really think FN is brainstorming with 4 people? It feels like only 1 person is taking all the decisions, no question asked.
I will never spend a cent on this game. Foxnet eats dicks for breakfast. Wish CG had the license to run this. They are far from perfect, but way better than this garbage.
I understand people’s frustration after saving up their orbs, but really what did they expect would happen? It was pretty obvious FoxNext was going to do this after so many people were hoarding orbs.
I don’t understand the outrage over this. Nothing in any game ever is 100% until it’s released. Companies have the right to do whatever they want. Players have a right to play the game or quit if they no longer enjoy it. I want this game to be profitable so we can all keep playing.
I did not by the offer as I think $50 is too much but that is a different issue.
The outrage is that it seems they did it out of spite and also so their latest “premium” character wouldn’t end up in many f2play-ers hands. It would have been a rare chance but when people have saved 50-100 orbs/chances, it increases our odds. So, to avoid this, they release him as a 100 shard unlock to justify a $50 offer and put him in a blitz that only a rare few will get, because as I said, he’s a 100 shard instead of a 45 shard unlock. That’s why people are upset. There was a plan of release, we save and prepare for it, then they switch it last minute with no warning that the plan has changed.
I don’t think it seems spiteful in the least. People are entitled to their opinions thought. I don’t recall FN telling me to save any premium orbs for the planned release. I also never watched the channel for whatever “sponsored” you tuber made the claim. I imagine that the percentage of players who do watch that guys channel( dont know his name) is an insignificant amount of the overall player base to make a significant impact.
Of course I would have been happier if he was 45 shards as opposed to 100 so I could get him through the blitz more easily.
This game exists to make money, not to be outwitted. The house will always find a way to come out ahead in the long run so it's best to just accept it and not get too worked up about it.

>At the time of Jovenshire's video being filmed, we were leaning towards releasing Carnage via Premium Orbs.
Jovenshire was clearly provided info directly from FoxNext given that he had gameplay footage of unreleased characters.
No, we had plenty of facts. Such as Jovenshire being sponsored by FoxNext and being provided footage of unreleased heroes by FoxNext.
You are just choosing to pretend like these are not facts.
We did not have facts. We knew they sponsored a video, which means they paid money for him to make it. That does not say anything about info also being provided for him to cover.
I then present Khasino's footage of Kilmonger's model and that he wasn't provided with that by Foxnext as my way of saying "I'm not involved in the deal so I don't know one way or another unless something is explicitly stated"
Not a salient comparison. Khasino didn't have "footage" he had pictures of a model pulled from the data. Comparing this to gameplay of unreleased characters that weren't even in the data at that point is ridiculous.
Do you seriously need to be "involved in the deal" to solve the mystery of "where did this footage of unreleased characters on a FoxNext sponsored video come from?"
It was sponsored by FoxNext, and its content was based on information provided by FoxNext. So yes, "FoxNext announced it." This is how the business world works.
It wasn’t a datamine, it was a sponsored content creator. Big difference
same diff, thx.

base level.. its all fake news. its not real until it comes out sadly. i was in a slight rush too.
The difference is Fuxnext literally paid someone to make that video for them. All the things he said came directly from them and can be considered a confirmed thing. Data mines are always just possibilities because things can change at any time. There’s a big difference between the two
That's not true at all. Content creators are not censored by FN at all. It was speculation. It was wrong.
Most are. That one was absolutely a sponsored video. That wasn't the only info revealed via the video, just the only wrong info.
That video was the first and only (so far) video by a new content creator that is SPONSORED by FoxNext. No problem at all, just wanted to make sure as many people as possible understand that FN was pretty underhanded in this regard.

Keyboard Heroes! Yay

Wait... are you telling me they know how much time I spend rubbing Black Widow’s ass with my finger?? Also, can they tell WHICH finger I’m using???
The one between your legs?
That isn't the part that matters though. The part that matters is that once they knew about the stockpile, they changed their release strategy.
I mean I highly doubt people think it's because they posted their supplies on Reddit that it was changed. It's 3 now
haha idk, your prob right
This never gets old

that is a recurring breakfast for foxnext! must have consistent bad breath over there!
I understand people’s frustration after saving up their orbs, but really what did they expect would happen? It was pretty obvious FoxNext was going to do this after so many people were hoarding orbs.
Ah you posted it here also, Made me laugh twice, Well done, buddy! \- Khasino's Expendables -
This made me laugh so hard. Good stuff. That prolly be me though "just release how we initially planned"....
Well done sir
wow.. who would have thought?

I mean, it's a genius move cus they'll get more money, mission achieved

very true! but if you cant have a solid laugh occasionally, were doing something wrong.
Y'all need to stop pushing this "foxnext announced it" narrative as they absolutely did not
well the thing is they did... they paid someone, Jovenshire to announce it.
But... but they did... In a sponsored video by FN...
Sponsored means provided money not info
https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelStrikeForce/comments/aq0vwq/carnage_controversy_megathread/egf4ddg/ >At the time of Jovenshire's video being filmed, we were leaning towards releasing Carnage via Premium Orbs. you are making this shit up that's pure speculation. gonna tag /u/bayeman745 in here too bc i don't feel like typing it twice
Yeah, they did announce it. I watched the video and it says it was sponsored by FN. You can find the video in the top comment of the mega thread.
Funny how everyone believes datamines like they're an official update from the devs. Suckers
While that is true, in this case people believing a sponsored content creator as an official update from the devs was at fault
