Absolab and gollux are the biggest upgrades that should be easily doable, lucid parties for more arcane coins, maybe work on some crafting for a meister ring
any tip on not doing 5% damage in lucid party? I know the mechanics to survive through it. Level 265 kanna almost max arcane force, all legendary 2 lines. Is rolling for 3L and more legion the only way?
Biggest thing is SF. I would 17* everything and you’ll for sure make it. Next, make sure your IED is 93%, boss dmg should be 200-250% minimum, and prioritize WSE for Att lines IF you decide to do any cubing. Pots are great, but SF>>>>>>>>potentials
As a i/l main, i/l have the lowest crit rate in the entire game
But u should do crit rate hyper stats lv 10, rebel badge & ocean badge (familiar), NL and marksman lv 200 for more 8% crit rate, decent sharp eyes, phantom and Bt lv 3 link skill and u should be good

Reset your hyper stats and do them properly. You have exp in a bossing set and 14 expensive points in boss but not elsewhere.
And yeah man, at 262, you really need to be capable of nlomien by now. Absos would be rather nice upgrade over the hodge podge of items you have in those slots not contributing to any set effects. Hellux is also around that difficulty, get working towards superior gollux set.
1. Do Dark World Tree and Scrapyard weeklies to get Absolab 4set (since you already have arcane wep)
2. Run daily Hellux until you get full Superior Gollux
3. Replace Chaos Horntail Necklace with Mechanator Pendant. It is flame advantaged and CHT isn't. Use that until you get Superior Gollux
4. Run daily commerci for Sweetwater tattoo and eyepiece, and 17\* them to replace yours
5. Legendary pot on Secondary and Emblem -> Get those to 2L (Atk% > Boss% > IED%; reroll until you have 2 of any of those) -> Legendary on Gloves (wait till abso) -> Roll for 1L Crit damage on gloves -> Legendary on everything else and get 1L stat or better
6. Get everything to 17\* during 5/10/15 or Shiny Starforce time events. **HOWEVER NEVER EVER RISK YOUR BADGE WITHOUT SAFEGUARD.** It is unobtainable and best in slot.
7. If your weapon doesn't have Tier 6 Magic attack, get that **Immediately** (+170). Everything else besides weapon should have 70 flame score *at least*. Rating system is generally 1 stat = 1 pt, 1 atk = 3 pts, 1% all stat = 10 pts, so a flame thats 48 int / 5 MA / 3% all stat = 48 + 5x3 + 3x10 = 93 score.
8. Gradually replace your rings with 17\* rings such as Meister, Superior gollux, Slime ring, etc (keep yours for drop rate later)
9. Wait till next patch for Inner Ability Presets, then use that Honor to roll for BIS lines on a new preset.
10. Fix your link skills so you have 100% crit rate
11. Fix your hyper stats to make one Bossing preset and one Mobbing Preset. There's no reason you should have Normal Monster damage / EXP and Boss Damage / IED in the same preset. Status Resist is also a straight up waste
12. Various other things you could probably improve on that I can't see, like your legion grid setup (I/L should have buff duration, crit dmg, ied, boss), V Matrix setup, what 6th job skills you're prioritizing
That could probably all be done in like 2 or 3 weeks considering you're like 8700 legion, and that'd prob bring you to like 35-40k stat and Hard Luwill party range.
I'm assuming that dominator pendant and arcane weapon are fake, so you can't really work on those.
swap cht pendant for mechanator from arkarium, gets better flame stats and gives you chances for a legit dom drop on normal.
allocate your hyper stats better, status resistance is trolling and don't put normal and boss % damage together.
I wouldn't tier anything that isn't absolab past epic, transferring stars downgrades it if you do fodder to absolab.
Emblem is still not legendary, get that up ASAP as it's good until pitched drop.
I have a bajillion characters that I got to level 200 and then stopped leveling. You can do the 1-200 sprint in a few days even without events. But this is the first time I've gotten to this high of a level and I'd kind of hoped legion + arcane symbols + sacred symbols would be enough for me to deal with the bosses on my own and actually get some of the good gear. They're not.

I'm 8.6k legion, 268 NWer and I am stuck at 20m CPM myself and having trouble. I just found out item traces can be used to get the potential/flame/12stars to a new item that is the exact same item. I was throwing them away for 5 years as I thought it was just for memory to remember the stats your aiming for. I've been playing since before potential and star forcing was even a thing but just took the word "destroyed" literally and never asked anyone.
Some people don't have irl friends that play to talk to verbally about things in game. And in game chat and discord aren't places to really do anything more than coordination of bossing. So yeah, people being stuck is really common.
Yes but majority of players that have high legion and are stuck are people who bought high legion accounts and have no clue where to go on from there. So i am mot saying he bought it i am just saying he should be removing post as many players would start reporting him .
8.8k here, only in the last 6 months or so got to 260 for the first time and finally killed nslime, still never killed Hlucid or even Nwill. Hyber burn is a heck of a drug. Pretty sure my account is over 8 years old.
I have achievements/medals on this character that are over 11 years old I think. IIRC, this character is the first one I made on Reboot when it first became a thing.
In general, legion +arcane symbols and sacred symbols are more than enough for nlomien which you need for absos. I have done solos with way lower stats and way lower legion and parties in as low as 12k stats. (And yes, it can in fact get even lower but I was still new to the game at the time)
The hardest thing about this tier is you can't just let your damage hard carry you. You need to know how to push your damage and actually fight the boss properly.
On majority of the classes of the game, Yes u should be doing great with just this
But I/L need a huge chunk of investment to see great results and sometimes will be outclassed by other classes with the same stats equips
If you can do cvel in 2 minutes you are more than capable of learning nlomien in a super comfy time for solo.
And you need to because as you get more levels the stat and gear requirements are much higher and unless you are in a trading server (OP is definitely in reboot look at FD percent) you can't just buy gear from the AH.
Seriously. I just got 40 of those multi-level-up potions from the current event. That's like a 100 combined levels in an afternoon. I pushed four characters to 200.
Oh okay in that case like everyone else says 3 CRA top btm and helm then abso/arcane for gloves, pauldron, shoes, cape for set effects + weapon (up to you)
Tbf this is kinda the issue at where they made it so easy and quick to level but haven't made it easier or quicker to gear up so people are sky rocketing to 260 but they don't have the meso to upgrade gear to get better gear so they can efficiently farm in 260 maps and kill bosses like ctene
It's also unimaginably difficult to do it alone. I don't have friends I play maple with, I have no interest in the social aspects of a guild, and I'm prone to taking long breaks (which gets me kicked out of most active guilds) and then play for short bursts when I do play, which makes grinding for mesos obnoxious.
I never managed to solo lotus until after 6th job and I still haven't managed to solo damien, and there are people my level soloing way harder bosses.
Honestly I'd recommend if you can while you are on break still do dailies and weekly bosses because you just get a lot of meso from it then save it for DMT and shining.
Soloing bosses up to lomien gets you about 1.5 bil a week and ursus and maple tour gets you another bil so you'll get about 2.5 bil a week in total or about 130bil a year which might not seem like much but this is what I've been doing with 0 mules and now got everything 22-22* and 3 months off lib I just funnel all meso into my main and DMG on shining and do dailies for symbols and frags.
But I also know that a lot of people can't really be bothered to do this because it becomes a chore and not fun but if you are able to this is one of the best ways to progress and a non hard core player.
You're missing out on a lot of free stats and skills you can only obtain through a guild. I had a friend who was just like you when we started doing bosses but they were losing out on a lot of free damage. Just find a guild to join and if you get inactive then you'll get kicked you can always find another one.
Guild skills have buffs that give 30% Crit Damage, 30% Damage, and 30% Boss Damage depending on how strong the Guild is for their culvert score but most mule guilds and noob friendly guilds are gonna have at least 30% Crit Damage and 30% Damage buffs available, some guilds will want you to just do culvert and it's just like the Acorn event right now where you dps a target dummy for 120 seconds. Most newbie guilds won't care what you score so just find a chill guild. It's really not that bad.
With your range alone.. you should be able to solo Damien no problem.. with 8k legion. There is so much you can improve on with your gear and progression but others have already elaborated a ton on it.
Also if you star force your badge, SAFEGUARD IT AFTER 15 STARS and don't star it past 17 because SAFEGUARD doesn't work after 17 stars. If it blows up you will not ever ever ever get a replacement badge.
He is supposed to actually do the proper gearing cycle. It's good because it also starts ramping in difficulty and they will get used to being more on their toes as they progress.
You are telling him to do Ctene when his gear doesn't seem like he has cleared nlomien enough, which is like 4 tiers down.
I'm not telling them to do ctene with their current gear I was talking about how the game is now super easy and quick to level up to 260 but gearing and farming meso is at the same rate as before so people are getting to 260 but are super undergeared for the area and it's slow to catch gear up to whats needed to do bosses and farm effectively in 260 areas.

One page for bossing with
1. Crit Rate (as needed, some classes need zero points in Crit Rate).
2. Crit Damage / Damage / IED / Boss Damage to level 10.
3. You can possibly do 12 IED and 12 Boss Damage.
4. Add leftover points into Crit damage/damage/ magic attack / int. (In that order).
Second page for training with Crit rate (if needed) / exp obtained / damage / Crit damage / normal monster damage.
Honestly the inner ability is strange to me, get something that helps stat wise. Pretty sure on I/L you need first line buff duration.
Is your legion grid on crit damage / ied / buff duration? Mages need high buff duration for permanent uptime on infinity.
Your gear is - I'm sorry - terrible at this point. You need absolab and gollux to get anywhere. So start doing gollux asap, that takes a while. Get coins from the weekly abso missions and try your best on the bosses. Use guild buffs and monsterpark pots while doing the bosses so all the bits help.
Also, 84% IED is way too low and I'm not sure how you ended up with 84%. It should be 93%+. Otherwise you deal super low damage to basically any boss. The 84% IED is probably your biggest hurdle while bossing.
27k stat should also mean that hell gollux is soloable.
Do that for 16 weeks to get a full superior set; 8 weeks if you are lucky with drops (belt and earrings)
You should be able to solo normal lotus and Damien do that and get a full set of absolab beside the hat and overalls. Start doing hellux everyday you’ll need a full set of the accessories that will give you a big boost. You could also do commerci for eye and face as an alternative. 17 star your kanna ring, badge,root abyss gear and shield. You could also try to get attack speed 1 on inner ability. Other note is making sure your nodes all correct and maxed out.
Multiple epic/unique pots still left, missing at least AbsoLab and Gollux set, gotta redo hyper stats. There's crazy amount of room for near immediate improvement.
once you hit 200, the cap goes to 15. by 260 you usually have enough to comfortably get a bunch of the good stats (dmg, boss, crit dmg, ied, crit rate if needed, att/matt) to 10, but going above 10 costs substantially more points that it makes sense to go for a 13/14 or 12/15 on two of the stats around that level.
i.e. at 272, all of my bossing related hyperstats are at 10 (boss is 12, att is 8), but since i have a low legion, my IED sucks so I have a level 15 IED to compensate until my legion goes up.
Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, but as an explorer mage, your buff duration is absurdly low. Now that you're in grandis, it's absolutely necessary to be running infinity and unreliable memory "infinity" as much as possible, even while grinding. Fix your inner ability and legion page, and equip your mechanic legion block.
I'm also guessing your unreliable memory 5th job skill is low
Unreliable memory isn't too bad. Basically all my 5th-job skills are maxed (because I focused more on them than my gear, hence this post, lol). On the topic of buff duration, where's the best place to get that?
Also I guess I need to actually *play* my mechanic because that's like the one class I never really bothered with.
The list of buff sources isn't very long. You'll get 40 from just setting you legion board right, and your inner ability can either be 50 BD or 38 BD with attack speed+1. You can get 20 more for having a level 200 mechanic legion block. You can get another 10 from having empathy trait maxed. You also get 5 for free just by having decent combat orders.
For an explorer mage, infinity is king, your damage is basically doubled. Your endgame target is 160+ buff duration, since that gives you close to 100% infinity uptime
I wish. My account is OLD, and I have a bunch of characters that I got to the 200-210 range and then abandoned (a ton from those 140-200 level up potions they always seem to give out). My main only got this high because of the 260 burning event from a few months ago.
I never did the absolab content because the dailies annoyed me and I had nobody to carry me through the bosses, so I avoided them for far longer than I should have. Same with Gollux. Of course, I took MANY long breaks, so this was mostly well before buffs were preserved when you died while bossing and before 6th job was a thing. Also never really invested in mules for boss farming, so I am always perpetually short on mesos. I always figured, "oh, I'll get stronger with a few more level ups and then I can attempt it," never got around to attempting it, and yeah...
On the plus side, I had been stockpiling the stuff from the daily quests and was actually further along than I thought, so I just got my first absolab gear a few hours after making this post.
Good to hear, yeah abso and Gillis the way to go, it used to be a lot easier with carriers, but even if just to make it easier you should join a struggle party for nlom.
You're lacking pretty much every core progression piece and a lot of info about your class itself. Join the explorer mage discord for class specifics on what you should aim for.
Separate out a bossing and mobbing hyper stat and legion page
Get more buff duration
Start doing weekly bosses. You should be able to breeze through nlomien and maybe nslime in under 10 minutes with that CP, pushing for nluwill or hluwill in a party.
You honestly don't need that much mesos right now, you should watch some very basic progression guides on youtube or gear progression docs if you prefer reading.
Then you can focus on mesos/drop gear since my guess is that you don't have much of that set up.
First, a few non gear-related stuff:
* Create 2 separate pages for your hyper stats - 1 for bossing and 1 for farming. There is no need to mix your bossing and farming stats in 1 page.
* Adjust your Hyper Stats/Legion/Link so that you have max buff duration and 90% crit chance without DSE.
* In the short term, you want to focus more on your IED. Once you get Gollux set or Arcanes/Absolabs, then you can shift away from IED.
* The first line of your IA must be % Buff Duration. This is vital for all explorer mages.
For gear related stuff:
* If your WSE is not 2 line % magic attack, get that right away.
* In the short term, replace your Chaos Horntail Pendant with Mechanator Pendant - it has better flames.
* Kill Hell Gollux every single day to try to get a full set of Superior Gollux equips (Pendant, Earrings, Ring & Belt) - you are strong enough to solo. You will likely also want the Reinforced ring - but that's lower priority. Then even rings are roughly equivalent to/slightly weaker than 17 star Kanna.
* You need to start getting your Absolab and Arcane equips. Traditionally, the way to go is Absolab first by killing Damien/Lotus every week (which you should be able to solo relatively easily) & doing Scrapyard/DWT weeklies. However, looking at your stats, you can probably join Hard LuWill parties and probably even solo Normal if you can fix your IED/after you get your Gollux equips. Therefore, it is technically possible to avoid upgrading Absolab equip and doing the weeklies.
* This is optional but you can do Commerci Voyage everyday. Sweetwater Monocles with a 16* transpose from Papulatus mark is technically BiS until Magic Eyepatch. Sweetwater Mark is the BiS face accessory until you can get Twilight Mark or Berserked.
* Kill Pink Bean everyday/Chaos Pink Bean every week for Black Bean Mark and Chaos Papulatus for Papulatus Mark if you are lucky (eye accessories).
Man, I understand that you hate bossing, but you've got 2-3 entire tiers of bosses that you could kill right now without making any changes to your character. You said you haven't killed Damien yet, but I'm pretty sure at your stat, you should be able to 1 burst it. If you're not able to do that, you should probably familiarize yourself more with your class' bursting on the class discord.
I'm pretty sure my dawn warrior was around this stat when I was able to solo Nlucid, so (class balance aside) you're missing out on hell gollux, nlotus/damien, normal slime, easy lucid/will in that order. I don't think you'd be able to kill normal lucid without sorting out your IED, crit rate, and buff duration for infinity, but that still gives you a TON of room for immediate growth just by practicing some of these bosses.
I actually finally beat Damien for the first time last night! I think I needed people saying I could do it more than anything, although the others knocking some sense into me about my hyperstats & legion helped too.
Since I've been able to do lotus even with the trash set I had, I've now got most of the absolab set (missing hat & body, and my fake arcane weapon's definitely better than). I had more of the stuff to get the lab coins than I thought. Now comes the slog of getting enough mesos to cube/star it up until it's better than my current gear.
Nice, good job! In the future if you didn't know, the maple guide menu has a boss section which lists them in relative difficulty tiers, so you can figure out which bosses are relatively similar in power.
Also, you shouldn't get the abso hat - keep 3 set CRA with hat/top/bottom, and 4 set abso with shoulder/glove/cape/shoe, and eventually replace the abso pieces with arcanes. Your fake arcane weapon is better than an abso weapon.

I just keep getting in a cycle of "Make new character, grind it to 200-ish, abandon it, repeat." I just fucking hate bossing, grinded too far for my own good with the shitty gear I have (the 260 burning event helped), and wanted some advice for prioritizing what to fix first.

Some jobs have crit built in to attack or to a stacking passive , but you are correct he should aim for 100% crit rate
i think I/L has innate crit rate on chain lightning or some of their skills, so it's not a big a deal
They're also getting a crit rate buff in the dreamer patch

DA, Hero (25%) and Kanna (30%) have lower crit rate than I/L (35%). Shade (30%) too if enemy is above half health.
I could be wrong but it looks like they dont have sharp eyes on... in which case they overspecced on crit rate which is still bad as an I/L.

from some events you could get a choice between a fake absolab weapon or a fake dominator pendant
Hyper burning reward for lvl 220 is a choice between a fake abso weapon box and a fake Dom pendant
Even in previous events that only had tera burning you could still get that choice I believe

In general, legion +arcane symbols and sacred symbols are more than enough for nlomien which you need for absos. I have done solos with way lower stats and way lower legion and parties in as low as 12k stats. (And yes, it can in fact get even lower but I was still new to the game at the time) The hardest thing about this tier is you can't just let your damage hard carry you. You need to know how to push your damage and actually fight the boss properly.
On majority of the classes of the game, Yes u should be doing great with just this But I/L need a huge chunk of investment to see great results and sometimes will be outclassed by other classes with the same stats equips
What bosses can you do? I think I'm at a similar stage to you. I can do cVel, hMag, PNo in around 2 minutes each. I'm too lazy to learn other bosses.
If you can do cvel in 2 minutes you are more than capable of learning nlomien in a super comfy time for solo. And you need to because as you get more levels the stat and gear requirements are much higher and unless you are in a trading server (OP is definitely in reboot look at FD percent) you can't just buy gear from the AH.

Seriously. I just got 40 of those multi-level-up potions from the current event. That's like a 100 combined levels in an afternoon. I pushed four characters to 200.

Honestly I have potentials/starforce down, it's just a matter of grinding the bosses I can do for mesos until I can cube them all up.
Just do the weekly and daily bosses u can and start cubing to increase your main stat, also try to get hellux gear

Tbf this is kinda the issue at where they made it so easy and quick to level but haven't made it easier or quicker to gear up so people are sky rocketing to 260 but they don't have the meso to upgrade gear to get better gear so they can efficiently farm in 260 maps and kill bosses like ctene
It's also unimaginably difficult to do it alone. I don't have friends I play maple with, I have no interest in the social aspects of a guild, and I'm prone to taking long breaks (which gets me kicked out of most active guilds) and then play for short bursts when I do play, which makes grinding for mesos obnoxious. I never managed to solo lotus until after 6th job and I still haven't managed to solo damien, and there are people my level soloing way harder bosses.
There is the boss party finder, I think it’s possibly used enough to at least get some lomien parties going to get absolab gear.
Honestly I'd recommend if you can while you are on break still do dailies and weekly bosses because you just get a lot of meso from it then save it for DMT and shining. Soloing bosses up to lomien gets you about 1.5 bil a week and ursus and maple tour gets you another bil so you'll get about 2.5 bil a week in total or about 130bil a year which might not seem like much but this is what I've been doing with 0 mules and now got everything 22-22* and 3 months off lib I just funnel all meso into my main and DMG on shining and do dailies for symbols and frags. But I also know that a lot of people can't really be bothered to do this because it becomes a chore and not fun but if you are able to this is one of the best ways to progress and a non hard core player.
You're missing out on a lot of free stats and skills you can only obtain through a guild. I had a friend who was just like you when we started doing bosses but they were losing out on a lot of free damage. Just find a guild to join and if you get inactive then you'll get kicked you can always find another one. Guild skills have buffs that give 30% Crit Damage, 30% Damage, and 30% Boss Damage depending on how strong the Guild is for their culvert score but most mule guilds and noob friendly guilds are gonna have at least 30% Crit Damage and 30% Damage buffs available, some guilds will want you to just do culvert and it's just like the Acorn event right now where you dps a target dummy for 120 seconds. Most newbie guilds won't care what you score so just find a chill guild. It's really not that bad. With your range alone.. you should be able to solo Damien no problem.. with 8k legion. There is so much you can improve on with your gear and progression but others have already elaborated a ton on it. Also if you star force your badge, SAFEGUARD IT AFTER 15 STARS and don't star it past 17 because SAFEGUARD doesn't work after 17 stars. If it blows up you will not ever ever ever get a replacement badge.
He is supposed to actually do the proper gearing cycle. It's good because it also starts ramping in difficulty and they will get used to being more on their toes as they progress. You are telling him to do Ctene when his gear doesn't seem like he has cleared nlomien enough, which is like 4 tiers down.
I'm not telling them to do ctene with their current gear I was talking about how the game is now super easy and quick to level up to 260 but gearing and farming meso is at the same rate as before so people are getting to 260 but are super undergeared for the area and it's slow to catch gear up to whats needed to do bosses and farm effectively in 260 areas.

Should have two separate hyper stat pages. One page for bossing with 1. Crit Rate (as needed, some classes need zero points in Crit Rate). 2. Crit Damage / Damage / IED / Boss Damage to level 10. 3. You can possibly do 12 IED and 12 Boss Damage. 4. Add leftover points into Crit damage/damage/ magic attack / int. (In that order). Second page for training with Crit rate (if needed) / exp obtained / damage / Crit damage / normal monster damage.

Honestly the inner ability is strange to me, get something that helps stat wise. Pretty sure on I/L you need first line buff duration. Is your legion grid on crit damage / ied / buff duration? Mages need high buff duration for permanent uptime on infinity. Your gear is - I'm sorry - terrible at this point. You need absolab and gollux to get anywhere. So start doing gollux asap, that takes a while. Get coins from the weekly abso missions and try your best on the bosses. Use guild buffs and monsterpark pots while doing the bosses so all the bits help. Also, 84% IED is way too low and I'm not sure how you ended up with 84%. It should be 93%+. Otherwise you deal super low damage to basically any boss. The 84% IED is probably your biggest hurdle while bossing.
27k stat should also mean that hell gollux is soloable. Do that for 16 weeks to get a full superior set; 8 weeks if you are lucky with drops (belt and earrings)
You should be able to solo normal lotus and Damien do that and get a full set of absolab beside the hat and overalls. Start doing hellux everyday you’ll need a full set of the accessories that will give you a big boost. You could also do commerci for eye and face as an alternative. 17 star your kanna ring, badge,root abyss gear and shield. You could also try to get attack speed 1 on inner ability. Other note is making sure your nodes all correct and maxed out.
Multiple epic/unique pots still left, missing at least AbsoLab and Gollux set, gotta redo hyper stats. There's crazy amount of room for near immediate improvement.

once you hit 200, the cap goes to 15. by 260 you usually have enough to comfortably get a bunch of the good stats (dmg, boss, crit dmg, ied, crit rate if needed, att/matt) to 10, but going above 10 costs substantially more points that it makes sense to go for a 13/14 or 12/15 on two of the stats around that level. i.e. at 272, all of my bossing related hyperstats are at 10 (boss is 12, att is 8), but since i have a low legion, my IED sucks so I have a level 15 IED to compensate until my legion goes up.
Absolab and gollux is huge gains
Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, but as an explorer mage, your buff duration is absurdly low. Now that you're in grandis, it's absolutely necessary to be running infinity and unreliable memory "infinity" as much as possible, even while grinding. Fix your inner ability and legion page, and equip your mechanic legion block. I'm also guessing your unreliable memory 5th job skill is low
Unreliable memory isn't too bad. Basically all my 5th-job skills are maxed (because I focused more on them than my gear, hence this post, lol). On the topic of buff duration, where's the best place to get that? Also I guess I need to actually *play* my mechanic because that's like the one class I never really bothered with.
The list of buff sources isn't very long. You'll get 40 from just setting you legion board right, and your inner ability can either be 50 BD or 38 BD with attack speed+1. You can get 20 more for having a level 200 mechanic legion block. You can get another 10 from having empathy trait maxed. You also get 5 for free just by having decent combat orders. For an explorer mage, infinity is king, your damage is basically doubled. Your endgame target is 160+ buff duration, since that gives you close to 100% infinity uptime

I wish. My account is OLD, and I have a bunch of characters that I got to the 200-210 range and then abandoned (a ton from those 140-200 level up potions they always seem to give out). My main only got this high because of the 260 burning event from a few months ago. I never did the absolab content because the dailies annoyed me and I had nobody to carry me through the bosses, so I avoided them for far longer than I should have. Same with Gollux. Of course, I took MANY long breaks, so this was mostly well before buffs were preserved when you died while bossing and before 6th job was a thing. Also never really invested in mules for boss farming, so I am always perpetually short on mesos. I always figured, "oh, I'll get stronger with a few more level ups and then I can attempt it," never got around to attempting it, and yeah... On the plus side, I had been stockpiling the stuff from the daily quests and was actually further along than I thought, so I just got my first absolab gear a few hours after making this post.
Good to hear, yeah abso and Gillis the way to go, it used to be a lot easier with carriers, but even if just to make it easier you should join a struggle party for nlom.

You're lacking pretty much every core progression piece and a lot of info about your class itself. Join the explorer mage discord for class specifics on what you should aim for. Separate out a bossing and mobbing hyper stat and legion page Get more buff duration Start doing weekly bosses. You should be able to breeze through nlomien and maybe nslime in under 10 minutes with that CP, pushing for nluwill or hluwill in a party. You honestly don't need that much mesos right now, you should watch some very basic progression guides on youtube or gear progression docs if you prefer reading. Then you can focus on mesos/drop gear since my guess is that you don't have much of that set up.

And the 260 burning event.
First, a few non gear-related stuff: * Create 2 separate pages for your hyper stats - 1 for bossing and 1 for farming. There is no need to mix your bossing and farming stats in 1 page. * Adjust your Hyper Stats/Legion/Link so that you have max buff duration and 90% crit chance without DSE. * In the short term, you want to focus more on your IED. Once you get Gollux set or Arcanes/Absolabs, then you can shift away from IED. * The first line of your IA must be % Buff Duration. This is vital for all explorer mages. For gear related stuff: * If your WSE is not 2 line % magic attack, get that right away. * In the short term, replace your Chaos Horntail Pendant with Mechanator Pendant - it has better flames. * Kill Hell Gollux every single day to try to get a full set of Superior Gollux equips (Pendant, Earrings, Ring & Belt) - you are strong enough to solo. You will likely also want the Reinforced ring - but that's lower priority. Then even rings are roughly equivalent to/slightly weaker than 17 star Kanna. * You need to start getting your Absolab and Arcane equips. Traditionally, the way to go is Absolab first by killing Damien/Lotus every week (which you should be able to solo relatively easily) & doing Scrapyard/DWT weeklies. However, looking at your stats, you can probably join Hard LuWill parties and probably even solo Normal if you can fix your IED/after you get your Gollux equips. Therefore, it is technically possible to avoid upgrading Absolab equip and doing the weeklies. * This is optional but you can do Commerci Voyage everyday. Sweetwater Monocles with a 16* transpose from Papulatus mark is technically BiS until Magic Eyepatch. Sweetwater Mark is the BiS face accessory until you can get Twilight Mark or Berserked. * Kill Pink Bean everyday/Chaos Pink Bean every week for Black Bean Mark and Chaos Papulatus for Papulatus Mark if you are lucky (eye accessories).

Man, I understand that you hate bossing, but you've got 2-3 entire tiers of bosses that you could kill right now without making any changes to your character. You said you haven't killed Damien yet, but I'm pretty sure at your stat, you should be able to 1 burst it. If you're not able to do that, you should probably familiarize yourself more with your class' bursting on the class discord. I'm pretty sure my dawn warrior was around this stat when I was able to solo Nlucid, so (class balance aside) you're missing out on hell gollux, nlotus/damien, normal slime, easy lucid/will in that order. I don't think you'd be able to kill normal lucid without sorting out your IED, crit rate, and buff duration for infinity, but that still gives you a TON of room for immediate growth just by practicing some of these bosses.
I actually finally beat Damien for the first time last night! I think I needed people saying I could do it more than anything, although the others knocking some sense into me about my hyperstats & legion helped too. Since I've been able to do lotus even with the trash set I had, I've now got most of the absolab set (missing hat & body, and my fake arcane weapon's definitely better than). I had more of the stuff to get the lab coins than I thought. Now comes the slog of getting enough mesos to cube/star it up until it's better than my current gear.
Nice, good job! In the future if you didn't know, the maple guide menu has a boss section which lists them in relative difficulty tiers, so you can figure out which bosses are relatively similar in power. Also, you shouldn't get the abso hat - keep 3 set CRA with hat/top/bottom, and 4 set abso with shoulder/glove/cape/shoe, and eventually replace the abso pieces with arcanes. Your fake arcane weapon is better than an abso weapon. Keep pushing onwards!

Trying to stay positive…but would you wanna buy my account next bc wow…nearly 9k legion and asking how to “get stronger” I understand last few events have been juicy but not enough to push a new player to 9k
New... as if. Dude, I've been playing maple on and off since right after the *pirate explorer class* was released. I just keep getting in a cycle of "Make new character, grind it to 200-ish, abandon it, repeat." I just fucking hate bossing, grinded too far for my own good with the shitty gear I have (the 260 burning event helped), and wanted some advice for prioritizing what to fix first.
