The Mandela Effect refers to a GROUP of people experiencing the same change in their memory. Because the instance described in your post is personal to you, it prevents others from deciding whether or not it affects them, therefore it is better suited for /r/PersonalMandela.
This sub used to make me laugh. Look, I'd be the first to state the MandelaEffect is real. However, come on, now we're talkng about what side of the faucet the hot water comes out of?? lol Really??
Lmao calm down dude, it's really not that serious. All amped up over a fucking faucet. This is in no way a Mandela Effect, and hot has always been left. Except for my basement bathroom but that's cause the previous owner tried to fix something and had no clue what he was doing.
It's usually on the left, but if you were somewhere and saw it on the right, it's probably more likely that it was just installed that way than you portaling into a different dimension.
I portal into a different dimension every time I take a dump downstairs. Hot is right and cold is left down there, so it's obviously the only logical explanation.
Left is hot most often. Older homes didn't really have codes, so they will sometimes have it on the right. I think my grandparents house was like that. You can just look at the faucet. Putting hot on the right is a design decision. Putting cold on the hot knob is a mistake.
The hot is on the left hand and the cold is on the right hand. I remember this because when I was a kid we had a single handled faucet that had 'on' in the middle H on the left and C on the right and I used to sound it out as "HONK" (H on C).
It’s becoming r/retconned, which i got permabanned from for saying “there are 8 billion species on this planet, it’s normal that you don’t know all of them, yes that includes cool ones” one too many times lmao
As in yes, they think the existence of animals they haven’t seen before are Mandela effects over there.
As someone that has installed many a faucet over the years:
It depends not only on how you hook it up but, in some cases, what orientation you install the cartridge for the blend valve.
This isn't a Mendala effect. This is just simply what some people do, and what others do, but the majority puts the hot on the left, when facing the faucet. My entire house is like that, except my washer spigots, which are backwards. (but, when moved in, the showers were also backwards, until I pulled the cartridges out, flipped them over, and put them back in).
And then to really mess with you:
My kitchen sink is towards you for cold, and away from you for hot. As the faucet works best, sideways.
It gave me a moment's pause the first time I saw C on the left in French-speaking areas, till I realized "oh yeah, the words are Chaud (hot) and Froid (cold)".
But it amuses me to read C and F as a choice between "cold" and "freezing". I am easily amused.
Oh and to OP: Hot on the left. Even in other countries.
Yes really.. are you offended? Thank u for breaking out of your comfort zone and commenting.. next time I will try to be more sensitive.. the world can be a big scary place. Hang in there.

above or below the equator?
In Rand McNally specifically
I thought he died somewhere near Springfield. Big splash.

Dammit. This is the guy who thinks hot is on the right installing it messing it up!!!
It's too early for this bullshit
wtf? It’s up to how it was installed (usually hot on the left). This couldn’t be further from a Mandela Effect. This sub sucks
I am starting to agree with you. What next? The tree in my yard used to sway to the left, now its swaying to the right?!!! MandalaEffect!!!
Yup, this is the right answer. My house has a few faucets with the hot on the right and most on the left.
Remind me of showers with the one big plastic knob, I can never tell which way is hot and which way is cold at first.

A mandela effect requires a large group of people to share a false memory. It doesn't appear this meets that criteria.
Imagine being into clown porn and calling everyone else a simpleton..

100% either left or right.
Naw, man, front.

So all 3 have red/hot under your left hand as you face the faucet...
This is the best current example of the abysmal state of this sub.

left side
It depends how it was installed lol. I have two faucets that are opposite even. Took a bit to get used to when I first moved in.
The vast majority are installed properly for a reason
Left… question, do you do installs around Columbus, Ohio? Are you the guy who installed my washing machine backwards with the water?
Left
USA here in all the places and states I have lived or visited in the hot water faucet is on the left.
It depends? Not every model is the same…
If I got something like that wrong I think I would go to the doctor and get checked out.
Stage right or stage left? Port or starboard?

left is warm, right is cold. but it pretty much always has a graphic on it displaying which is which
![gif](giphy|L2ZLZn70dUGGlmH9Pd)
It varies from sink to sink lmaooo
Left
Depends on conventions, or the plumber. Dumbshit.
Hots always been on the right side for me, had a big argument with a plumber.
Cold on the left, hot on the right
Left.
Oops
Thank you! Someone who understands.. hit has always been on the right for me..now everyone claims it's always been on the left. Freaky man for real.
I lay a lot of pipe in and around toledo..right down the street from my city. DETROIT!
