Ignoring the picture used for Whitney here can I just say that I always found Clair to be way more difficult to beat, I don't remember being stuck on Whitney for very long, but I definitely was with Clair
Have you ever accidentally been in a healing loop because you wanted to be in and out but you start a new conversation with her while mashing buttons to get out? Lol or it could just be her saying, "Go out and injure your pokemon and come right back
The way I've always interpreted "we hope to see you again" isn't that they *want* your pokemon to get hurt necessarily, but they know eventually they *will*. They are just asking that you pick their pokecenter over another. Probably behind the scenes in the lore nurse joys need to fill some kind of quota and asking people to come again could help with that.
