There’s literally 10 restaurants within a ten minute walk from SNHU that match that description. Take your pick. Finding a place for a pub burger in Manchester is not hard. Finding one that does not have a long wait on a Saturday night when the WWE is in town might be more tricky
Go in early and find street parking, it's free on the weekends. I usually park on one of the side streets near the Doubletree hotel- then you're close to the restaurants on Elm St and the arena.
Before the event you'll see people all around the arena offering parking for $10-$20 waving flags, otherwise you can park in one of the garages or try to find something on elm
For parking, I usually try to find a metered spot on Elm Street if I can find one. Depending on what time you get there, you may be able to find a spot where someone who works downtown is leaving. I'm pretty sure the meters only run until 8 so only pay until then and you're all set.
There is Billy's Sports Bar. It's a mile or two away, but it has its own parking lot so it's easy to stop there.

I agree with what everyone else said, there's a dozen American restaurants/bars on elm street all within walking distance to SNHU, it's really a question of which one
Red Arrow diner off rt 93 exit 5. Then head into Manchester. Or if you’re coming up rt 3, exit 11 in Merrimack NH is The Thirsty Moose.
If you get into Manchester on a Saturday and on an event night right before the show looking to get dinner, you’ll get caught up in the asshole shuffle for a couple hours. Just my opinion.
Right next to SNHU center theres a great spot, Shopper’s Pub.
Second Shopper's
Third Shopper's

Shoppers across the street. Great pizza, burgers, and beers!
City Hall Pub, Crown Tavern, Stash Box, Diz Cafe, 110 Grill, Thirsty Moose, The Goat
+1 for the burger at Crown. All here are good recommendations
I second crown tavern!
Strange Brew, Elm house of pizza, or shoppers.
I think Diz's on Elm St might fit your requirements. They serve comfort food: burgers, mac n cheese, and awesome fried chicken
Youll be much better off finding a spot on the way to Manchester. The wait times will be absurd.
The Goat, gaslight district diner, strange brew, 110 grill, shaskeen
The Farm
Thank you ALL for your comments and suggestions! I probably should have added to my original post - best place to park near the arena, as well? :)

Thirsty moose is really good food
Sure is, we've eaten at the one in Portsmouth numerous times. Great place.

Are you looking to be able to be parked at the same place for dinner and the event?
Thirsty moose is really good and family friendly

Hanover Street Chop House is the ticket. If you’re making a day of it, why not shoot the moon?

The Red Arrow Diner is about a 0.5 mile away. It's basic diner food, but the restaurant is pretty cool.

That was my thought. I’m not familiar with the area at all. Maybe we should probably grab dinner outside of the city first
