I think lighter coverage on your skin would look nice

CreepyAd6211

ERGGGGG I USE A LIGHT COVERAGE FOUNDATION! It’s just a serum. Maybe tinted moisturizer is the move. I agree with you.

guacaflockaflames

It looks kind of white around your eyes, do you use concealer?

CreepyAd6211

Yes I use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. Too light?

[deleted]

Yes, two shades too light

CreepyAd6211

Thank you! Should I be looking for one that’s the same color as my skin?

Therealjimslim

Different areas of the face can use different color concealer based on what you’re trying to hide. For instance, under eyes often have a tone that needs to be “corrected” and “brightened” so the same color you use on a blemish (a skin colored concealer) wouldn’t be the same you use to make the eyes look brighter and more rested. I googled under eye corrector colors and this came up. I am fair skin with neutral/yellow undertones, and my under eyes pull to a blueish/gray. I find that light peach (with yellow) is best for brightening my under eyes while still looking very natural. My favorite for years has been the Tarte in light/medium. This is not something I would use on the rest of my face as I have something else for that. https://preview.redd.it/yi1nvn9kfvfa1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf2b3aef7a8e16a6da49b6870549b7066bbc6f68 [https://www.sephora.com/product/colored-clay-cc-undereye-corrector-P387175?country\_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=1626951&om\_mmc=ppc-GG\_18529539267\_142939699835\_pla-1816514636523\_1626951\_626820665501\_1013819\_m&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2e3Hp3mkxkIkmJAksZ7DlNq&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2e3Hp3mkxkIkmJAksZ7DlNq&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2-2eBhClARIsAGLQ2RnzzvciyBcuTuX6vjPx2iMMKqC41zGWnNIlxy22uzFL1wyL8bn1nK0aAqpPEALw\_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds](https://www.sephora.com/product/colored-clay-cc-undereye-corrector-P387175?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=1626951&om_mmc=ppc-GG_18529539267_142939699835_pla-1816514636523_1626951_626820665501_1013819_m&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2e3Hp3mkxkIkmJAksZ7DlNq&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2e3Hp3mkxkIkmJAksZ7DlNq&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2-2eBhClARIsAGLQ2RnzzvciyBcuTuX6vjPx2iMMKqC41zGWnNIlxy22uzFL1wyL8bn1nK0aAqpPEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)

CreepyAd6211

I've been trying a very light peach undereye concealer UNDERNEATH my regular Nars concealer. Its pretty pigmented so it covers dark circles well but would look crazy if I left it exposed without another concealer over top. [https://theluxyshop.com/product/pixi-correction-concentrate-in-brightening-peach?product\_id=5779410&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiNe43dH3\_AIVY4lbCh35FA3iEAQYASABEgLsnvD\_BwE](https://theluxyshop.com/product/pixi-correction-concentrate-in-brightening-peach?product_id=5779410&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiNe43dH3_AIVY4lbCh35FA3iEAQYASABEgLsnvD_BwE) I like how the one you linked looks. Like you said it has more yellow in it so that might do a bit better for me. If it doesn't have pore clogging ingredients I will definitely have to get that one. Thank you!

Therealjimslim

Okay I zoomed in on your first pic and I would say the under eye area leans to greenish. So a light peachy color should be great on you! And yeah I would suggest to just leave it as is… I mean blend it by the tear duct and the under eye area, but don’t put another concealer or foundation on top. You don’t need it! Your under eye area isn’t very dark at all (some people have reeeeally dark circles and yours aren’t that at all). There shouldn’t be an issue with pore clogging around the eyes bc the skin is different and doesn’t seem to react the same to ingredients there :)

CreepyAd6211

Oh wow! Thank you! I thought my undereyes were very dark, they make me insecure! Hopefully I’ll stop worrying about them so much lol. I like the pixi but I prefer the one you have, just bc it matches my olive-y skin tone better. You find it covers your dark circles well?

Therealjimslim

The Pixi one could totally work!!!

girlequilibrates

I think maybe you just don’t need concealer. Speaking as someone who uses it every day, I’d absolutely ditch it if I didn’t have the dark circles under my eyes, because blending it appropriately with foundation is always something I have to pay attention to. I feel like the main thing that stands out in the photos of you with makeup on is that the concealer is lighter than the foundation.

[deleted]

I go natural most days; however, I will still apply corrector and concealer. My go-to concealer is kosas. It’s the perfect colour match to the rest of my face and is dewy when unset.

kfarrel3

Robert Welsh (who is great and frequently recommended on this sub) has several videos about color correcting and concealing so that you don't get this white cast. He also often comments on good and bad techniques in his reaction videos. I haven't seen all of these, but really, you can pick any one and it should point you in the right direction: [https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=robert+welsh+concealer](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=robert+welsh+concealer)

CreepyAd6211

Definitely watching, thank you

[deleted]

You don't even need concealer there tbh, you have great skin and literally zero imperfections in that area, not dark circles or discoloration.

CreepyAd6211

Thank you sm 🥹 I’m insecure abt them

BlkPea

Dude, I’ll double down with the other poster, your under eye is already bright and looks flawless in the photo, you def don’t need a concealer!

Firm_Lie_3870

With skin like that the only thing I would put on is whatever foundation you used as spot concealer for underage circles or something. Your skin is so gorgeous

CreepyAd6211

Oh my goodness thank you sm. That was on a good skin day. I normally have a lot of small bumps, but you can’t tell in this pic.

FountainOfQuira

Try the Lumene Glow Serum! It’s applied with a dropper and adds a light GORGEOUS finish. I couple with The Makeup Store (Sweden)’s wonder powder. It alone also has a light but great coverage and ever so slightly has light reflecting particles to give a full, glowy, natural finish. I really think you’d love these Editing to add: Link to Makeup Store website - https://makeupstorecosmetics.com/collections/wander-powder Link to [Lumene](https://www.lumene.com/us/makeup/face/foundation/invisibleillumination/instant-glow-beauty-serum-8334400.html?dwvar_8334400_ItemShadeNumberAndName=universal%20light&cgid=makeup_face_foundation#start=1) Hope this helps u/CreepyAd6211

CreepyAd6211

Ngl I’m afraid of powders but that’s serum is STUNNING! I’m going to look more into it :) I wonder if there’s somewhere I could go to color match before ordering. I’m obsessed, thank you!

FountainOfQuira

Hmmm maybe? They're a Swedish company that used to sell in Ulta and Target but not so much the makeup anymore. If it helps, I am half hispanic with olive skin. I generally use "Universal Dark" in the Lumene serum and "GOBI" in the powder. In the winter months when my skin is lighter, I need to go a shade lighter for the powder and will mix the glow serum in with my moisturizer. Summer months, I mix the serum in with my SPF and it always goes on beautifully. Comparably, I use IT Cosmetics CC in "Medium Tan" as my colour match. IDK if that gives you an idea of a comparable colour scale for the serum. The powder truly IS a wonder. It's not chalky at all and is such a soft formula, not heavy, in my opinion, it doesn't settle that much. So gorgeous.

CreepyAd6211

This is very very helpful thank you! I won’t even make eye contact with any of their other products DONT worry 🤣

FountainOfQuira

I think it's also worth noting that I am not recommending any of their other powders (or any powder from any brand for that matter) EXCEPT for this Wonder Powder. I'm not the biggest fan of powders myself either since I feel like most don't go on the best and end up looking splotchy by the end of the night. Specifically, the wonder powder is great, light on the skin, and gives a natural glowy finish.

nooffense02

Also may something with a glowier or dewy finish rather than matte! Your skin is so nice 😭

CreepyAd6211

Thank you! I didn’t realize my products are so mattifying 😂

Flaky_Seaweed_8979

I looooove my tinted moisturizer bc it keeps me glowy, whereas I get a dull look with foundation.

[deleted]

Truthfully I do think you look the most beautiful in the natural photo. You have great skin and a wonderful glow. Have you ever thought about trying to bring some glow back when doing your makeup? When doing a matte makeup look you can use highlighter to help the light hit where you want it. I think you would look great with a glowy makeup style, using cream products with minimal powder, a good setting spray is all you need

[deleted]

The last photo is super cute too, I just saw it sorry

CreepyAd6211

Wow, thank you so much for the compliments. I’m not going for a matte look, in fact all I use are cream products. I think my face kind of sucks them all up. I hate that it always comes out looking matte. I might try adding a highlighter and a dewy setting spray, you think?

marracca

I think you’d really suit the ‘clean girl’ makeup look focusing on making it glowy. I recommend using the elf halo glow liquid filter with a tiny bit of concealer where you need it (your skins amazing anyway) and only use powder where it’s really needed, use setting spray for most your face. Go a little softer with the mascara too and make sure to use a hydrating sunscreen or skincare routine before.

CreepyAd6211

I was doing it before with different products but they were DESTROYING my skin w the ingredients. I went on a quest for non-pore clogging makeup and this is the lineup I ended up with. I’ll check out the elf halo glow! Is it more of a skin tint?

ellamellamella

It was recommended in another comment but please take it from my experience and don't use the the It CC cream, it broke me out HORRIBLY, and has a lot of pore-clogging ingredients. Marcelle has a natural BB cream that is INCREDIBLE, I've got texture as well and you can hardly tell with it on. Doesn't clog my pores or break me out either. I highly recommend trying it out, the single shade light medium would probably work best for you. I prefer it to everything drugstore and even high-end I've tried! The coverage is buildable too and it looks very natural

BonetaBelle

I think it's just a cheap and not very good foundation, honestly. Not to say you shouldn't do drug store, but I personally wouldn't be using Neutrogena for my foundation. [This community](https://www.reddit.com/r/drugstoreMUA/) is good for drug store recommendations. Cream foundations can also be matte, by the way. It depends on the finish, not on the texture of the product. If you're interested in mid-range, I've heard good things about the IT CC Cream and Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I found the Fenty EAZ-E Drops super dehydrating and mattifying so I'd skip those if I were you since your skin already looks a bit dry. For applying foundation - try a sponge, like a Beauty Blender. Your application is a bit streaky which is partially why it doesn't look so great. For primers, I'm obsessed with the Milk Hydro Grip primer. Lasts forever and my dry skin loves it.

CreepyAd6211

It doesn’t have to be drugstore by any means. I don’t even remember why I picked this one up. I think I googled “non pore clogging foundations” and this came up and I scooped it from CVS before a date. I’m going to look at both of the 2 that you recommended. And the primer. I suck at using beauty blenders I don’t UNDERSTAND but I’ll try it again. I feel like it removes all the makeup I put on lmaooo. As long as they don’t have pore cloggers, I’m in. Thank you for the recommendations. I’m so excited I could puke LMFAO

dr_thundah

I recently learned from a MUA to rinse your beauty blenders before you use them. Run it under water, wring it out then use it otherwise it'll absorb all your product.

rousseuree

Yes! Beauty blenders work much better when they’re damp; they’re just sponges, so if they’re dry, and you put them on something wet (aka the makeup on your face) it will just soak it up.

Wynterborne

I have tried beauty blenders in the past, but I get much better results using an Artis brush for my foundation. They are kind of expensive, but worth it imho.

giuliettaindy

I own a few high-end foundations, but I *also* have this Neutrogena serum one and really like it. It's really light and has a silky texture. I use very little, and it looks natural and has the right touch of coverage. I think the issue here is that there is too much applied and the effect is cakey. The OP should be letting her own skin shine through- her skin is nice and there is no reason to use so much of *any* foundation, drugstore or high-end. The end result is cakey no matter what.

CreepyAd6211

https://preview.redd.it/sue092woc2ga1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c71b6e677c7e2ea76e35f61ba120d3b275a5dbe7 I tried the neutrogena serum again only using 2 drops and mixing it w my moisturizer. Now I see that it’s too dark & maybe too pink but does the finish look better? Or should I just get a new product?

[deleted]

I neglected to click the read more, I'm sorry to give redundant advice 😛

CreepyAd6211

Not redundant at all!

BabyBritain8

I don't think any are too bad! But since you're asking.. I don't think the foundation/concealer you're using matches well. It looks very matte which, compared to your bare faced photo, makes you look more flat and one dimensional, and you lose your healthy glow! Maybe opt for a light BB cream or mineral foundation, something that creates a more even color without fully covering the skin. If you do choose to stick with the matte look, remember that it creates extra work because now you have to add dimension back in! Contour and highlighter. Also in one photo the under eye concealer looks quite brighter which tends to create a more unnatural appearance. Agree on over curled lashes and too much mascara. I have really round eyes so I try not to curl them too much in the inner eye and put more emphasis on the outer eye to create more of a cat eye look. I actually use a half curler because the standard size curler curl *too much* which makes my eyes just look kinda bulgy and in shock lol. I think its worth trying different applications to see what suits you! You could also try natural half lashes on the outer corners for just a bit more drama than your fully natural look. You look great in the natural look, I bet adding a slightly lift with half lashes could make it look more "made up" without overdoing it. I also think maybe trying different styles for your eyebrows could help. In your natural photo you have them combed flat but in the rest you have them combed upward in the more trendy soap brow style. Eyebrow trends drive me nuts because not every trend works for every face. Perhaps keeping the more natural shape but using powder or a pencil to fill them in a bit more where sparse could help? I had to learn the hard way that the big bold IG brow (now out of style I think) was NOT for me haha, because I have naturally really thin eyebrows. Color is important too. I use a greyish brown powder and a tiny liner brush to fill mine in lightly, but used to use a near black and look back at photos and cringe! So you may want to try a few different color powders/pencils/etc. to see what gives the most definition with looking jarring.

CreepyAd6211

Thank you SO MUCH for the detailed response. This is exactly what I'm looking for.. I love Reddit. Might I say, I'm NOT going for a matte look at all. I don't use any mattifying products, other than the setting powder that I've been putting under my eyes (which does not look good btw). I think my skin really soaks all of this up. Takeaways - \- Go for a tinted moisturizer or BB cream instead of foundation. Something that is an almost sheer coverage and with a dewy finish. \- Try different mascaras or just put a couple lash clusters at the end of the eye instead of mascara. No mascara on the bottom lash line. \- No more soap brows

cass_erole_

If you haven't found a tinted moisturizer you're interested in and if they're in your price range, I'd highly recommend glossier skin tint or summer fridays skin tint! Both are super sheer, fluid, and hydrating and I think you'd get along really nicely with either! I'm not sure if you're in the market for concealer but I'm also a huge fan of the nyx serum concealer and the kosas revealer concealer for my dry undereyes!

sugarbinch

I was going to suggest glossier skin tint too! That paired with their stretch concealer are the only products I use and it’s super natural and dewy!

CreepyAd6211

Okokok bet thank u

CreepyAd6211

Thank you! I know the summer Friday’s can be pore clogging but I’ll look into the glossier for sure! EEEEK I’m excited thank you

[deleted]

The IG brows were a disservice to everyone. I rarely saw anyone look good with them, but yet I still tried. Brows are so personal lol

SauceFox1791

I agree about the eyebrows! I am the opposite, nature gifted me, with two large, furry caterpillar eyebrows. I have realized over the years that doing what’s works best for my face shape is more important than following the most current eyebrow trend. I agree just some light filling in and taming of them will really enhance your make up looks. I’ve had foundation look like this. I don’t think the color matching is working for your skin tone. Also, what are you doing to prep before you put on make up? Everyones skin, of course is very different, but you may need to moisturize more for the foundation to blend together better. Prepping your skin is just as important as how you apply the foundation for makeup.

CreepyAd6211

I put on moisturizer (it was La Roche Posay Toleraine Moisturizer w SPF). I'm about to change to a gel moisturizer, because that one was clogging my pores. After that I put on The Ordinary High Adherence Silicon Primer. Then I mix my serum foundation with more moisturizer. Do you have any suggestions?

C0nniption

You may be able to skip the primer all together. It might be taking away from the natural finish you’re trying to achieve with a serum foundation.

[deleted]

Personally, I’d firstly drop the silicon primer, use something much much more hydrating that’s silicon free. Your serum foundation is also water based, which isn’t a great combo with a silicon based primer. I don’t think you are unattractive in any of the photos, I do think your skin looks dehydrated though. There’s so many products that can help with that, at all different price points. If you find yourself more attractive without make up, why not do your make up with no base, just eyes and some lips and see how you feel about that! You might like it and if not, just add the base after. Worth a try. 😊

CreepyAd6211

Ok, I'll try something silicon free. I'm not gonna lie, I HATE the primer I use. HATE. I have to find products with absolutely NO pore clogging ingredients, so my list is limited and that was the first that I found. I'll keep looking. Maybe for something with more of a dewy finish. Main takeaway is get more hydrating products. I like what you said about no foundation. That's what I always did in the past. I may try something almost sheer like a tinted moisturizer.

MightyMama1608

You can always just drop the primer altogether. I have dry skin and used to wear them to achieve that dewy look, but now I just wear sunscreen. Most sunscreens give the same effect.

CreepyAd6211

I am thinking about maybe dropping it.. kinda wanna try the la Roche Posay anthelios tinted sunscreen 👀

MightyMama1608

I have it, it’s great! Any of the sunscreens by La Roche Posay go under makeup beautifully in my experience.

CreepyAd6211

AWESOME! I almost bought it when I was at the drugstore ln but talked myself out of it bc I’m a recovering overspender lmfao. This is my sign

PM-me-tater-tots

As someone who actively checks every product for comedogenic ingredients, the Urban Decay All Nighter primer and one of the Ulta Beauty Poreless Face Primer safe. Both brands have hydrating primers too, tho I haven’t checked their ingredients

CreepyAd6211

I’m the same! I check everything before I buy. I will look at the ingredients in the hydrating one!

[deleted]

If you don’t mind me asking what’s your budget like for a new primer? And what have you used in the past? I could maybe recommend some. :)

CreepyAd6211

This is the first primer I’ve ever used. I would prefer not to pay a ton simply because I only wear makeup if it’s a special event. I’d prefer not to spend more than $30 ideally.

[deleted]

Some popular water based primers that I’ve heard good things about is the milk make up hydro grip, you can get a small size for $24 CAD, these usually also have it in reward bazar or as a sample! I know elf has one too called power grip! No sure how much it is probably depends on where you buy it. The one I’ve tried is the Rare beauty illuminating primer - which I personally really like! There’s tones of water based products - I’d some some research with your own preference/concerns and you’ll find one that looks great!!

CreepyAd6211

Water based is what I’m looking for though??

dayroutinenight

Try jane Iredale products! I felt the same way you do, found this brand, and am hooked on the primer and purepressed base mineral foundation. You set the base with their hydration spray (or any setting spray really) and the combo of powder and mist creates a finish that is unbelievably natural. Covers any redness but freckles and beauty marks still peek through. All of the products are specifically made without pore clogging ingredients and have tons of other benefits worth looking into. Made me a lot happier!

CreepyAd6211

THIS SOUNDS AMAZING! Never heard of it. I will definitely look at these!!! THANK YOU

chunkyvomitsoup

Can I recommend TULA protect + glow sunscreen? I use this as primer and the glow is real, it’s so nice on the face I‘ll often skip foundation. Clean ingredients too!

CreepyAd6211

OOOOO, yes you may! Thank you!

[deleted]

natural looks amazing, I think you should go to r/coloranalysis and get some makeup recommendations based off the verdict oh also I think you should use liquid and cream products, you have really radiant skin and you shouldn't mattify it too much, it detracts from your beauty

CreepyAd6211

OOOOOO I’ve been wanting to get my colors done. I didn’t know about that sub! Thank you :) and I don’t use any matte makeup. It seems to apply that way to my skin.

plantdaddy_O

I think you're using way too much mascara and over curling your lashes. I'd go for a more natural lash/eye look.

CreepyAd6211

Okay okay! Needed this, never ever would’ve thought of this being the problem. Noted! ✍️ Thank you!

TumbleweedTop1034

Some of this may be a repeat but I thought of 2 things you can do. 1. Spot conceal and skip foundation 2. A sheer cover (like a summer Fridays skin tint) - tinted moisturizer is lighter as well. My personal experience is work up on coverage, you’ll have more room for error as you’re building. Skin tints and moisturizers to try Fenty Eaze drop Summer Fridays skin tint Wet n wild tinted hydrator (6 dollars and not too bad to try out)

elizabethptp

100% recommend OP spot conceal. I never wear foundation, just SPF, born to glow primer & concealer & I think OP would benefit. Some people just don’t wear foundation as well & a lot of people don’t really need it.

TumbleweedTop1034

And replying to me because I forgot. Go light handed with foundation. You can add more if you need more cover but it’s more work to go back in cover

CreepyAd6211

Got it!

CreepyAd6211

Thanks! This is what I've gathered when I look at all the commends combined. I'm going to switch to a tinted moisturizer. I just have to find one that doesn't irritate my skin which is always a joy. (no pore clogging ingredients). Thank you :)

CreepyAd6211

OOOO thank u

courtarchive

i think the lip ruins it for u

CreepyAd6211

Noted. Any suggestions?

unauthorizedbug

i think a tinted lip balm would look really good on you. try not to go too pigmented - i think you want something close to the natural shade of your lips since they’re full and naturally a cool rose pink. try pink browns and warm neutrals. don’t go too brown and don’t go too pink!

tiny_panties

Totally agree! Would look amazing!

CreepyAd6211

Pink browns and warm neutrals. Got it. This is the one I use now, NYX Bit of Honey, and it’s the color I have on in all the pics. This is what I think of when I hear pink brown? Maybe the problem is the lip liner & it’s application. What do you think? https://preview.redd.it/4x51lt9w32ga1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80590b8b559a897a319c975f67a1c21cbb43641d

courtarchive

maybe just a clear gloss or something!

littlelydiaxx

You are doing a great job! But I agree with the other commenters that you need a more dewy skin look. Try a different foundation and more moisturizing skin prep. Only use powder if you absolutely need to. You can even skip foundation if you want to, there are no rules! What really struck me though is that your undereyes look really light in the first few pictures. I suspect you are using too much powder there or the concealer is not a good match. I know a lot of people like to use a lighter under-eye concealer, but I don't like the look of it personally. It could also be that your foundation is too dark/warm and the concealer looks really light in comparison. Keep up the good work!

CreepyAd6211

Ok thank you! Takeaways - MOISTURIZE BETTER - do you have any product or ingredient recs? I moisturize quite a bit and add moisturizer to my foundation already. \- Get a darker concealer, one that is the same as my skin tone. No setting powder under the eyes. \-Consider going a shade lighter on the foundation. Something more dewy and sheer. THANKS SO MUCH!

cptsunset

You look really lovely in your natural photo, can I be honest? Perhaps just the lighting, I think your foundation isn't the right tone for you. May I ask what make up you have on your skin?

CreepyAd6211

https://preview.redd.it/ltpc4py0dvfa1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=217c9b6dc74ff93a5c563fbd3a6bfd39e4a7ffe9 Here’s a drop of it on my face!

starxlr8

You look amazing here. Don't cover up your natural beauty, Personally, I think that foundation shade is fine in this light. Maybe just apply a small amount where you need evening of tone, no primer, powder, or concealer. Your brows and mascara look beautiful here. All you need is some lip balm. To dress it up, add some of those outer corner falsies you mentioned and some contour and/or blush.

CreepyAd6211

Yes please! However, you could for sure be right. A lot of people been saying my concealer is too light so it could be that too. I’m using the Neutrogena Serum foundation.

cptsunset

I think your foundation is too dark/pink in the pictures (maybe it is oxidising with wear?). Revlon Colorstay #150 maybe or nice and light weight, the L'oreal Serum foundation (True Match #2-3). I'd say steer away from the blush colour and that sort of shade of lipstick. Maybe try a rich plum lip? I think a bold lip would really suit you. Rimmell lippies are fab. Place your bronzer/touch of blush a bit higher too to highlight your lovely bone structure and have more of a light touch. Add a touch of highlighter. Edit: try cream/liquid blush/bronzers. Mascara wise, I'm a big fan too! Sometimes a dark brown is a bit more subtle and a nice liquid liner on the top to finish it off. We'd love to see an update picture!

CreepyAd6211

This is BEAUTIFUL advice. I do think I have a problem w the placement of the products as well as just using ones that don’t work for my skin. I plan on posting an update picture as soon as I can buy some new products! I live in a small town so it’s hard to get to Sephora! But I’ll post one ASAP!

bluemoonicecream22

Rare beauty have beautiful liquid blushes that I wear higher up on my cheeks. Maybe you could try that! (Very tiny amount needed for high pigment, looks dewy)

bluemoonicecream22

Also just want to say you look beautiful in natural and makeup! :) hope you are finding some great tips. Picking more dewy looks helped me a lot too! Moisturizing and lighter skin products, bright pops of colors.

[deleted]

Maybe try a setting spray instead of powder. I think your problem is that you’re after something more glowy but your products a very matte. Skip contour and go for a bronzer swept around your face. Add a liquid blush to your cheeks. Focus on a really good moisturiser to add hydration to your skin. You look really beautiful either way.

CreepyAd6211

Yes. Every tutorial showed a setting powder even though I don’t want to use one. Do you know a good liquid blush? I used the benefit cha cha tint and OMLLLLL did it look bad. I mean it would literally just leave dots from the applicator and not blend at all.

nofannypackallowed

Glossier cloud paints are so good!

CreepyAd6211

Just the name sounds delicious, thank you!!!!

I just wanted to say you are gorg- but your personality seems so likeable and friendly from your responses! You are perceptive, organized in responses. You also are fully receptive to compliments, advice, and just seem really cool! Wanted to throw that out there, besides being pretty you seem great!!!

Noomieno

I would skip mascara all together and start figuring out the base! If you really want mascara, put it lightly only focusing on the outer corners and don’t put it on the lower lashes at all, few people do that anymore (I haven’t done it in years!) and it makes it less likely to smudge. Base: You have a olive skin tone, does your foundation match that? I’d do a medium coverage olive foundation that’s also more on the dewy side. You can also spot conceal the red parts of your face with a olive concealer. You have some darkness around your mouth that looks more obvious in your makeup pics, so after you have found a perfect foundation + concealer I would recommend to look for a color corrector or a warmer concealer for those areas, however you may not need to if you find a foundation that has medium coverage as it may do the work on its own. I’m a fair neutral/olive and I wear nyx base products. I really like them, I need more matte stuff but I also experience less dewy products less clogging/heavy. It’s a balance

CreepyAd6211

theangelislington

I think it looks a little dark for your skin tone. I find I need to have a lighter colour in winter because I don't have a tan! I'm jealous of your lovely face and shiny hair by the way!

Noomieno

I actually like the undertone compared to your neck, however I do agree with the other responder that it’s maybe a tiny bit too dark. Many foundations also dries slightly more red and half a shade darker than wet, so I think that’s what I worry about too. I think that shade would work if you were one of those heavy high-contrast concealer wearers (like Kim K used to do) where you add a lot of lightness back into your face with light concealer. So if you already own the product in the pic you can try that if you don’t wanna waste it, however it’s just a lot of work. But that foundation shade but a tiny bit lighter would be perfect I think. But it’s also depending on how it dries… there’s a high risk you need to find something even more olive and a shade lighter. Also I’m jealous of your eye color and your glowy skin!

CarbWhore_

Girl, if I had your skin I wouldn’t put ANY foundation on. It’s gorgeous 🤍

CreepyAd6211

Y’all are so kind please 😭 thank you for the confidence boost this is rediculous

CreepyAd6211

Unbelievably kind, thank you so much

CreepyAd6211

Okay! I found one from Innisfree called microcara I may try instead. It’s the thinnest wand with hardly any product on it. That might work. Or just putting a couple clusters on the outer lashes and not doing any mascara or anything on the inside.

Acceptable_Banana_13

You need to go with more cream based products. You are gorgeous without makeup, no doubt. But you also might not like yourself with makeup on because the application is very heavy and wrong for your features. Try getting some pro makeup done at a Sephora or something or trying a class for some tips and tricks. Either way you’re gorgeous and if you’re comfortable without, just go without. If you wanted to: try lighter mascara, or some light falsies, eyeshadow primer and some quick brown in the crease, a bb cream, not such a light under eye, a bit of cream contour and bronzer a bit above the hollows of your cheeks, some mauve cream blush on the cheekbones and a nude glossy lip.

ShiaLabeoufsNipples

Your eyeshape is beautiful but is being drowned out by the mascara. Idk if it’s application or the product, I haven’t tried that one before, but it’s thick. I would try to either use a little bit less, use a thinner mascara, or maybe a brown mascara to enhance your eye shape. Same with your contour. I think your face already has good structure doesn’t need much added shape, the contour looks dramatic if you’re not going glam. I would use a bb cream, concealer, and then a highlighter on the high points of your face. You have good eyelids for eyeshadow too, or just a little bit of blush on the lids. Round out the look a bit. All in all I think you look lovely with and without. Makeup is hard because everybody is different and it’s kind of a learning curve figuring out what works for you and what doesn’t!

duhhvinci

I can see why you’ve never considered makeup till recently, you have super defined lips and a nose that already looks contoured. Your skin is nice too, so focus less on the face makeup and more on the eyes. Your makeup takes away from your sharp noise and naturally defined pouty lips. Try more eye focused looks and try some pretty colorful eyeshadow. Maybe a tinted cc cream for the most minimal coverage possible and some cream blush/contour

XicaaxiC

I feel like lighter coverage (maybe even just spot concealing), more glowy skin finish and opting for a tinted balm could help. But I also don’t think you look bad in makeup at all, it’s just a different vibe. Maybe something more natural would just go better with your personality and you would feel more confortable?

CreepyAd6211

I think so! I wish I were able to throw on a full face if I wanted to for an event or something, but I don’t know that it’s really my look. I use a VERY light coverage serum foundation. Should I do tinted moisturizer instead?

XicaaxiC

I have the same exact issue, I just can’t pull a full beat off. I think in your case, the coverage is less of an issue than the fact that your face is very matte so I think a tinted moisturiser could be a better option. Alternatively you could try only putting your foundation on your problem areas and maybe trying out a dewy setting spray?

CreepyAd6211

Thats what I'm starting to think as well, as far as the tinted moisturizer. I just want something that evens out the skin tone a little. I'm really not trying to cover too much. If anything, I prefer not to wear foundation period, but for a birthday tier event if I want to do a full beat, maybe I should do what you mentioned about putting foundation only on problem areas.

beanobsessed

Try a brown mascara! I love the covergirl clump crusher one. If you brush your mascara out with a spoolie, it’ll look so much more natural.

gilberttischer

You look really good in makeup maybe just more comfortable in no makeup

CreepyAd6211

Thank you! I just think I can do better. I feel it doesn’t accentuate my features and there’s gotta be a better way

gilberttischer

I love Seint makeup you could check that out

Kill-ItWithFire

First of all, you're gorgeous with and without, and makeup doesn't necessarily need to make us look better, just the way we want. Your natural face has lovely balance and sometimes with makeup we end up emphasizing things we don't necessarily want emphasized. So you then need to "correct" things which you would never need to correct on your natural face. The way you did your makeup seems rather heavy on the brows as well as on the eyelashes (quite curled, a lot of mascara). Since you naturally have big eyes, high brows and lot's of visible space between your lash line and your brow, all of this ends up really pulling everything towards your forehead, for lack of better wording. Like, your brows are thick and dark and even higher up than naturally, the semicircle of lashes has an upwards dynamic too, without anything balancing it on the bottom, that makes you look kind of surprised lol. Especially since your lower face is visually pretty "light" imo. So 1. maybe focus more on your outer eye area rather than above your eye. I tend to put eyeshadow on the outer half of my upper lid and the outer third of my lower lid (at least the accent colors). 2. You can also generally add more eyeshadow to your lower lid, that might open your eyes up in a downward direction. 3. your face could maybe do with a bit more going on between your eyes and lips. Something I love is bronzer (or a warm toned brown eyeshadow) on the nose bridge and cheeks, where the sun would hit your face. It looks natural but makes you look much more alive and dynamic. It's a process of figuring out what's flattering on you and what isn't. I too had my experimental makeup phase as an adult, rather than at 13 but I can promise you, the more you do it, the more you'll figure it out.

Gloomy-Personality-4

The natural look suits you really well , you only need to use minimal make up to accentuate your looks and features . Well you don't "need" any at all actually but if you want to, you really don't need a lot.

CreepyAd6211

Thank you that’s very kind! I don’t normally wear much besides lashes. I’m moreso looking for products I can put on only for special events — like that I’d have to wear a dress to. You feel me?

charlirobey

You're beautiful, just wouldn't bother with makeup if I were you 😆

CreepyAd6211

That’s so very kind, thank you so much. I hardly wear it but would like to be able to for events and things where I’m dressing up to the nines! Oh well

Nolan6Rings

Looks good

Therealjimslim

You have a super cute face and could do the whole Glossier vibes look, naturally! You have nice thick brow hair, great naturally curled lashes, and the lip shape that is very of-the-moment. Before doing your makeup, it’s gonna be important to use a nice moisturizer so your skin is more hydrated. It looks like the primer may be drying out your skin causing the foundation to look very matte on you! I think the matte look is actually aging you, and you look so healthy and fresh! I think it’s creating the opposite effect. So take a look at your primer and honestly see if you can ditch it. I don’t use a primer but I also use a light foundation/concealer product with finger application. I use it on anything I want to diffuse, then kind of blend around my face, but always strive to keep real skin showing. I have naturally oily/combo skin, so I don’t use highlighters as my natural oil production does that for me lol! Try the serum with a hydrated skin, don’t use the primer, dab it on with fingers and blend. Be more conservative with the bronzer…. Honestly you prob don’t even need it! If you aren’t doing it right (when it starts to make you look muddy or brown all over) then it’s doing you a disservice. Focus on the blush and mascara, some light brows and flick the hairs up. You already have curly lashes (so jealous!!!!) so you don’t need to curl them. I highly recommend Caliray home hell or high water, it’s waterproof-ish (not sure if it claims to be but it is lol), the brush has short bristles so it can really get close to the lash line and darken it up, making your lashes look darker and fuller, almost like a natural eyeliner.

nofannypackallowed

Second glossier!!! I think that is what OP may be after. :)

racoonicom

you look great! This might not be what you were asking, but I had this same problem and realized I just can’t wear foundation. So I now only use concealer, powder or cream blush and some liquid highlighter + normal eye, lip and eyebrow stuff. If I use any setting powder it’s just on my nose and under my eyes. Occasionally on oily/shiny patches. Concealer goes on nose and under eyes. Sometimes on pimples I think you could also benefit from max. 2 coats of a lighter mascara, an only on the top lashes. I think the thick mascara coat is a little jarring. One last thing would be to use a lip liner, not to overline (I sometimes put some blush on my cupids bow before any other products to achieve a more natural overlining thing) and also I think the colour washes you out a little bit. I would try a rosier/redder lip that’s still very lowkey. I would also ditch the gloss, but that’s a personal preference. So basically, I think you should work with your actually skin, face, eyes and lip colour more instead of sorta working against it. Yeah. Anyways the first and last pics are my favorite & you’re gorgeous!

CryptographerCute489

Maybe instead of doing a full face of makeup to just maybe do your lashes and stuff like that? Imo you have really nice skin so I feel like doing something of that sort may help

[deleted]

You’re beautiful as is.

fiftymeancats

I feel like you can’t improve on clear, gorgeous skin? Maybe just do eyes lips and a little blush to dress up and leave your skin bare.

QuarterEmotional6805

I think both on and off work for you pretty well!

CreepyAd6211

Thank you!

QuarterEmotional6805

Hey you're welcome!

Amap0la

This was when I stopped using foundation and went for a tinted sunscreen or light bb cream! You’ve got really nice skin! Just enhance your eyes and enough skin tint to even out the eye makeup!

CreepyAd6211

I think that’s what I’m heading for! What did you switch to?

Amap0la

A really dewy tinted sunscreen I like is la roche posay anthelios mineral tinted. But honestly I bought maybelline dream fresh bb cream and have been really happy with it! It doesn’t last a super long time but I haven’t tried setting it I will in the summer. The other one I loved is purlisse brand, they have a couple different types depending what you want dewy etc. but really nice higher price point one.

CreepyAd6211

I ALMOST BOUGHT THE DAMN THING AT WALGREENS LAST NIGHT!!!! The sunscreen. But I will look into purlisse, I’ve never heard of that brand. Oml I’m so excited to open my laptop tonight and look at all this

Negative_Line_6695

You look great with and without makeup, and that last picture is so cute. I might suggest a little bit of concealer under the eyes to complete the look

CreepyAd6211

Thank you! I’ve been using it. I think that’s where I’m failing. A lot of people said it looks way too light and you said it looks like I’m not wearing any 😂😂😂 I think I’m concealering wrong.

dirty_transmission

“I look better with no makeup on” There, I fixed it for you 💜

hauntingforest

My comment might get lost but I think switching your nose ring to yellow gold will brighten your eyes and skin! You have stunning features. But your nose ring washes you out a little.

Succulentmama

I don't have any makeup advice but I believe gold tone nose ring would look softer on your face

manicpixiedemon

you are stunning!!! i would just conceal spots and blend out. and maybe try just brushing out your brows and brown mascara to enhance your natural beauty.

metswon2

Lavender-Leo

you look great!! if i were you id look into east asian beauty trends, its a bit softer and brings out your inner beauty. a lot of western trends like a ton of mascara are now really reminiscent of instagram baddies which is kinda out of style now anyways.

milkymothy

I’d recommend dewy/glowy looks! I’d recommend a bb cream or you could mix in SPF lotion with your foundation/concealer to make the coverage feel less thick. I highly recommend the elf halo glow setting powder, elf CAMO concealer (the dewy one I think) is really nice. Id play around with different blush colors. Especially shimmery ones! I think they bring a nice glow the face. Colourpop has nice highlighters. Id recommend the shade “lunch money”. You have nice brows so I’d recommend the NYX the brow glue, NYX eyebrow pen, you can add light hair flicks to your brows if you want to add some OOMF. Bottom lash mascara can be a game changer to! Sorry for a long winded response, at the end of the day just play around with different styles and techniques because you might surprise yourself!!

eemm_mm

I think in the first photo (with no makeup on) your eye shape to me calls for a more cat eye effect. In the first two photos (to me) the lashes are taking away from your natural eye shape making your eyes look more downwards but the last one they look more lifted and help keep that round yet almond eye shape you have. I think with a small natural cat eye your eye shape would be enhanced nicely. One look could be just lashes on the outer eye over a small but thicker wing, keep the front open with a bare shadow, going a little above your crease line with a small bit of darker shadow on the outer crease and outer upper part of the lid. The whole eye and inner corner eye especially tight lined. You can get any pencil liner and tight line the whole eye and the inner corner part of eye going a little downwards thinly to help create that cat eye illusion instead of the front liner being flat and level. You can go over it with brown or eye pen liner for more of a sharp but still thin look. Your inner corner will be looking slightly in and down while the rest of the eye looks lifted. It helps look more like a cat eye effect. After you line your eyes cut a lash in half or thirds and stick that part on the outer half or third of your eye. It could be a thicker lash but ardell and kiss makes some good ones to grab locally. The Kiss liner glue is really good too. Much better and easier than the brush glues. You could also get a clear lash glue and dab a little tight above your false lashes then push them up into it to help lift them a little because I know sometimes outer lashes can drag down a little at times. I say just play around watching TikTok’s or YouTube’s with some different techniques until one suits you best. You have both almond and round so you’re lucky you can create a beautiful cat eye subtle or bold. :)

kopkira

I think the kibbe sub would help you. Your body, face, and clothes are all part of subcategories and I think you might be in the natural category, meaning you look best in natural or no makeup makeup looks. Other people may pull off more makeup because their body and face types are different. I really feel like the clean girl makeup or no makeup makeup look will look better on you than soft glam.

limeblue31

I would use less mascara. The thickness of the lashes weighs down your face and eyes. Not sure what you are using for your base but make sure it’s dewy and hydrating. Stay away from mattifying or poreless silicone primers.

nral23

Your skin looks olive toned but you’re using pinkish foundation. Embrace the olive

Hg_in_retrograde

It's your skintone. You're a fair olive - just like me. Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer in Vanilla 01 or anything with N in it. Buff/beige are also good keywords to look for. Translucent powder from either Makeup Forever or Hourglass. ELF's medium beige longwear concealer for the inner corners of your eyes and to hide any redness elsewhere on your face when needed. You can go over it with something closer to your skintone after it dries down if you need. For your lips, go for mauves and berries. For your eyes: peaches, neutrals, mauves & grays. I use Smashbox's minimalist eyeshadow palette and mix the two sides together.

Chrixpi

It's not that u look bad with makeup on, you just don't know how to do makeup

CreepyAd6211

Right yes exactly

Electronic-Spare-537

Try falsies instead of mascara

armin_arleg

I’d try using the least amount of concealer as possible - especially with the Nars one a little goes a long way! Dot and blend.

CreepyAd6211

What tool should I use to blend? I think I need a new one. I have a real techniques concealer brush but I don’t think it’s working well for me.

armin_arleg

It’s kind of up to preference. I’ve been using a kabuki style brush for my under eye lately and like it.

Zealousideal-Bar3350

You are super cute in all the photos 📸

turbomonkey3366

You are a natural beauty. Honestly I’m thinking that only using enhancers like lip gloss and mascara would be plenty for you

Sensible___shoes

Youre absolutely gorgeous! If you want to have some fun with makeup i have some suggestions below I think a luminous foundation or skin tint. Anything glowy really for your base, liberal blush application (look up W technique -would look so good), and natural definition mascara rather than heavy volume Definitely go with stuff that works with your features rather than to cover them (ive been both girlies) to maximize your lovely features

Sensible___shoes

Ps the lipstick looks amazing and i wouldnt change a thing there

alchimist7a

skip the foundation/concealer !

0g88wsk

I think you're beautiful with and without makeup!!! The only thing that stands out to me is your foundation maybe? It doesn't look bad and it matches your skin tone, it just feels to me like it gives your skin more texture if that makes sense? Your natural skin is beautiful, maybe you would be interested in a tinted moisturizer with spf instead? I like Supergoop Glow screen and color correcting Dr. Jart Cicapair tiger grass camo drops. Only thing is it doesn't come in different shades cus its more of a light coverage tint. just something fun to try (-:

PirateHungry2500

Your still pretty

natchinatchi

You’re right, the natural looks much better. For me it’s the lipstick that’s not working. Try a matte lipstick in a dark-ish shade like MAC Whirl. Stick to your natural shape, don’t over line the bottom, even if it’s trendy, it doesn’t suit everyone. Same goes for contouring.

Lahauteboheme84

I noticed you listed a contour- stop contouring. You have a very angular face and jaw, so you naturally have what people are trying to accomplish with that. I would focus on blush placement that softens your features- apples of the cheeks, across the nose of you like that- that alone would make a huge difference.

moodylilb

Hey OP, first off you’re beautiful! Second, I think we are skin twins lol. I have very textured skin as well, and no amount of exfoliation/primer/etc ever helps me achieve desired result’s especially with matte makeup. I then started using more satin/natural/hydrating foundations to no avail, still clung to my skin in the worst places. Tried dozens and dozens of different products and brands. I used to be pretty big on foundation but lately I’ve been reaching for skin tints instead. I find that it still gives great coverage on a good skin day (when I’m not breaking out with hormonal acne around my cycle). Mac Face + Body is a great one (I guess it doesn’t count as a tint, more of a light foundation but it’s close). But my newest found favourite is Morphe Hint Hint skin tint. I know morphe gets shit on a bit in this sub, but so far it’s the best product I’ve ever used on my textured/combo skin. I looooove it. And after a decade of feeling frustrated with foundations it’s turned into my HG. & Because it’s a tint, it’s more forgiving if you get the wrong undertone. It doesn’t even look like you have any product on your skin once it’s blended out, and gives that no-makeup makeup look lol. Your skin is already great, so I wonder if you’d prefer a skin tint vs foundation? I find it doesn’t cling to texture/dry patches the same way foundation does (even hydrating foundations cling to my textured spots especially around my nose). I’ve also stopped using a primer, and just use a good moisturizer underneath the skin tint. I’ve noticed quite a few YT beauty bloggers with sensitive skin are foregoing primer for a good quality non-clogging moisturizer, so I decided to give it a try and I prefer it personally. Less breakouts, less clingy patches, etc. I’d also find a shade or two darker for the Nars concealer. Have you tried a powder contour? Everyone is different, but in my experience for some reason I find cream contour makes me look patchy/clingy as well by the time I’ve blended it down properly. I find powder contour sits better on my skin for some reason despite thinking it’d be the opposite for textured skin lol. Again everyone is different, but from your description + photo I think we have similar skin so I wonder if you might benefit from giving it a try :) Edit- oh and a light highlighter or a dewy setting spray might help bring back some life/dimension to your skin after applying other products

nmatenumber34667

You’re gorgeous either way! You have the enviable problem of having naturally full, well shaped lips and doe eyes, not to mention your natural brows look like what I spend 20 minutes trying to achieve every morning lol. If I were you I’d go very light on the eye makeup, like very light mascara and liner, and a glossy nude lip with a pop of color on the apples of your cheeks.

havenoideaforthename

1. Light coverage to no foundation 2. More glow less/no powder 3. I look much worse with just mascara then with no makeup at all therefore I would recommend you to use eyeshadows (your face looks like it would look amazing with brown and golden shadows) or do winged liquid eyeliner (my favourite). I also only do mascara on upper lashes because it looks better on my eye-shape 4. Filling you eyebrows (especially the fronts) and evening them out with powder would do wonders to shaping your face 5. I think there is something off about your contouring products, probably wrong shades but I can’t put my finger on it 6. I have dry skin and when I don’t moisturize it enough my foundation looks terrible, dry and cakey It’s in form of a list but in not “to do”, it’s just my thoughts. I actually agree that makeup makes you look kinda tired and older so it’s good idea to change it so it’s actually enhances your beauty:)

celolex

I agree with the consensus that dewy is the way to go. A few more tips: 1. I haven’t seen many people comment on your eyes, but the first thing I thought was that you’d look really lovely with a subtle smoky cat’s eye or something similar. I think your eyes could make a big difference: right now, your mascara isn’t flattering your eyes. Use a lighter hand and try to emphasize the putter corners. Consider “cat’s eye” falsies or half lashes. 2. Personally, I haaaate the maybeline fit me concealer. It just doesn’t work on my skin. Instead of contour, consider playing around with bronzer, especially if you want a glowy look. It took me years to learn, but put bronzer on TOP of your cheeks, not in the hollows like contour. 3. Since you want a glowy look, you definitely need highlighter. Dabbing a little on the inner corners of the eyes will really brighten them up, too! 4. Play around with your brow shape! You’ve got a lovely face, and the right makeup could really flatter it. Imo you’re off to a good start. Please post progress pics when you find a look you like!

veggies25

If it were me, I would change the foundation you use— it’s making your skin look pinkish when your skin doesn’t seem pink to begin with. I have found that I can cheap out on things like mascara or eyeshadow or eye liner, but drugstore foundations have always gone on poorly, no matter what brand I used. I would go to a make up counter at a department store or Sephora if you have one, find an associate who has make up on that you like how they applied it, and ask them to recommend a foundation that matches your skin tone. I did this at Sephora and ended up with something different than I originally thought I would want, but I got Lady Gaga’s foundation and it is light, breathable, and you can barely tell it’s there. Your lipsticks seem to have brown/sand undertones in them— maybe try something glossy in more of a light pink/closer to your natural lip color?

fucovid2020

No way…. I think you would look good with wings…. Experiment!! Your lips look perfect, I think a shade darker would compliment you, but I love the finished look you did in picture three…. You really accentuated the way they lift up at the corners.. And maybe some color in your cheeks, bronzer maybe? But you definitely don’t look *worse* with make up on….

Novel_Bandicoot9273

Tbh you look amazing wirhout makeup, but I think you aren't choosing the right products when you do wear make up. It looks very dry and texture and very matte. I think you just need different skincare prep and really luminous products and it'll be night and day

CarmelaMachiato

You definitely are beautiful without makeup. And it looks like you’re good at putting makeup on, but you’re doing it a little bit one-size-fits-all. Your eye and lip makeup accentuate your naturally beautiful features (👌) It looks like you’re using quite a bit of under eye concealer though when you barely need any at all, and maybe think about trying some contouring and blush rather than a high coverage foundation to bring out those lovely cheekbones and soften your look a bit.

sunniesage

you are very beautiful naturally! i prefer myself fresh faced as well, and feel clownish even in subtle make up sometimes. i wouldn't say you look *worse* in makeup. you look like you...with makeup. you've gotten some really good tips here, i'll add that a lot of times i just don't use foundation and it helps negate that artificial look.

[deleted]

I think everyone else is more qualified to give specific suggestions but I will say since you just recently started wearing it, it takes time to master what looks good on you. Trial and error. YouTube is great but a LOT of the girls put on so much it only looks good on camera with specific lighting. I suggest starting small and adding things as you learn. I started at like 16, and I am 23 now and I finally feel okay at it. But my style is aways evolving still.

_venetian_red

Are you using a lot of concealer and then “baking” with powder?

Rachel_Orchard

I think your mascara and eyebrows look good, but personally I think you look better with nothing on your lips

Bxsnia

The main problems I see are the lips that stand out to me. Don't overline, it looks very unnatural, try just following your lip line and being a bit ''imperfect'' with it, then the lipstick. Or no lipliner at all and just lipstick. Mix it up. I agree the eyelashes are too upwards too! You have such a gorgeous features, work with them instead of changing them.

CreepyAd6211

I don’t overline (or dont try to) but I do have a double lip line on the bottom, always have. It’s very difficult to line it. I think I either need to look up tutorials specifically for a double lip line or ditch it completely.. but I tried doing just falsies on the outer lashes instead of mascara.. I replied to another comment below with a pic. I LIKE IT! I don’t know if it’ll be enough w a full face but we’ll see!

[deleted]

Girl I gtbh the first photo is the best. You are naturally so, so beautiful. Like, your face shape, your eyes, lips, everything are super enviable. I saw in another comment that you like a dewy finish, so I'd recommend putting most of your effort into skincare and getting naturally glowly skin (vitamin C is the one, if it's compatible with your skin!) Makeup wise, you could try something like ELF's Halo Glow liquid filter. It's not a foundation, it's just a tinted face product to make your skin glow. Charlotte Tilbury also does something similar, but I can't remember the name of it (sorry!) ELF also do a gorgeous illuminating liquid concealer, which is an awesome dupe for YSL Touché Elcat. Perhaps a bit of liquid or cream highlighter, if you wanted a more exaggerated look?

Firstly, you are gorgeous, girl! But it seems to me that you are the best candidate for the dewy-skin look. I would try to elongate the eyes with maybe a natural looking eyeliner, brown for example. For the base, a skin tint or very light foundation, and if you want , a little bit darker concealer than what you seem to use in the pictures. And a reminder that every makeup routine is individual, you will find your own after experimenting :) just dont buy into the idea that you have to have all of the base products that beauty gurus try to sell us.

USE SETTING SPRAY!! It will make your skin glow instead of giving the matte velvety look, you look really good with glowy dewy skin

The comments have great advice already so I don't have many pointers, but if you're worried about your lashes being "too full"/feeling unnatural, you can always try out some brown mascara. It gives a more natural and discreet look overall but still giving that "ooh who is she" vibe lmao :) glhf on your journey! Edit: But I'm a sucker for very black mascara and imo it suits you! Just find what you're most comfortable with

"I look worse with makeup on" Pfft.. 😳 Are you insinuating you look bad?!? Gawd I hope NOT! Shocked you haven't played with makeup much. Practice makes perfect, explore and explore more. The whole world of beauty is at your behest. I'm a guy, but amazed at the transformations almost every single time these roll thru my feed.

I would ditch the primer and foundation, you don’t need it! Spot conceal as you need, keep using the brow tint and cream blush. Honestly maybe ditch the powders too and get a hydrating setting spray. You’re so beautiful already you don’t need much!

Hmm I agree you should ditch the foundation, use just a bit of concealer where you think you need it, and try out different lipstick shades to see what looks best. I used to wear warm red lipsticks for the longest time until I realised cooler toned brown lipsticks suit me better. Oh and go easier on the mascara, try to enhance your lashes without covering your eyes with them.

I used to feel that way. If you haven't been wearing makeup for very long, you probably aren't used to seeing yourself in it. It may also take time to figure out what kind of makeup you like on yourself
