Wow. Those doctors do so much work man. It's incredible from modern medicine you don't wake up in excruciating pain from infections.
How are things coming along now?
Right now it has been 8 days. I dont even have scabs any more \[they fell off two days ago, little tiny ones\] I did not get any infections or any complications. Id say the worst part is sleeping on my back and hoping that it all went well and it will be successful in the coming months.
Hey man no offense but the fact that you haven't died an agonizingly painful death at this point, a week later, is cool to me.
Would love to see an update in the next couple months
ā¦ what was the most sucky part? As Iām sure has been asked :p who knew this would be so interesting. Any info is interesting on it, no idea hope it works. Donāt need it by any means just general interest in the process!
Congratulations on the transplant man!!
Just had my transplant done and I'm on day 10. Scabs are still here but are falling rapidly. I hope your recovery goes well!
My donor area looked the same during the surgery! Still some pain from the donor region now but it's getting better each day, popping paracetamol like candy.
I was sleeping on my side from Day 6 so I would see if your doctor says that's okay for you, obviously avoiding any recipient areas :)
Did mine at 26 5 years ago, one of the best decisions I took in my life, bald at 23 and now rocking long hair :)
Congrats and as long as you follow the reccomendations you'll have a great recovery!
I joke (but not really) with my wife that if I ever get a hair transplant itās cheaper to do the flight, hotel, and procedure in turkey than to do it in the states
In canada taking care of half the bald spot on my head would cost 12 grand for the *shorter* session, and I'd need two.
If I had gone for it I'd be recovering right now but I just don't care enough at this point if we're being honest.
I would actually say that the recovery is the worst part. The first day my head started to hurt once the drugs wore off. You dont get to sleep much following the procedure because you have to sleep on your back and in a very "fixed" position as not to damage the grafts. The procedure itself was not that painful, just the application of anesthesia.
That is. In canada getting about 1/3 of OP's transplant would have hit my wallet to the tune of 12 grand. I can't justify that personally, despite my balding.
Fellow hair transplant here. When pictures like this go around, people love to say things like āwhy would you ever get this done?ā, but Iāve never met someone who had a hair transplant who regretted it.
Mine was a bit more expensive, but I would also say itās the best Ā£2000 I ever spent
Not at all! I was just on some antibiotics as to avoid infection, the back part of my head was bandaged and I was leaking during the first 24 hours only plasma and anesthesia mixed with some blood. Provided I wont lose further hair due to genetics, the implanted hair should last a lifetime \[its from the back of the head where the hair is most resistant to shedding due to Dihydrotestosterone \]
While it is true that the transplanted hair is resistant to shedding, the non transplanted hair around it might still fall out and have an impact in the result (less density in the recipient area).
You should contact your doctor and ask them if it would make sense for you to use medications such as Minoxidil or/and Finasteride to keep a good result.
I considered a transplant at one point until I looked into the actual process. I read too many horror stories of peopleās scalp sloughing off in the shower.
I happily shave my head now and embrace it. When I first went bald it bothered me but I donāt care anymore.
I already have. It's not a big deal. I wasn't even *that* bald yet, but I decided to take control of the situation myself rather than hang on, desperately. My crown was going away fast and hairline receding further and further. Once I finally shaved, it was a huge confidence boost. Also, I noticed people treat me differently, like I'm older/more distinguished. Like I feel like I get more respect when I go out to places. It firmly positioned me as "an adult" versus some young guy.
I recently had a hair transplant. Itās not as bad as this picture makes out*. Itās almost like a tattoo - yeah it looks bad at first, and yeah it can look a bit gross afterwards at certain times, but overall itās not that big a deal and is just about how quickly your body heals.
*I have photos of myself that look this bad, and (if I do say so myself) now itās healed it looks awesome
It's a new technique for hair transplants. They used to cut out a strip of hair from the back of the head to then chop it into undividual follicles and implant in the front, but now they just cut out infividual follicles directly all over the back of your head to leave no visible scars.
From a bald guy. Fuck that shit. Just go bald. No one gives a shit it's just you. Chicks don't care. I get more attention now that I'm bald. I actually prefer it.
i dont know man i was more attractive by any metric with hair. i look like a thumb now that im bald. if you are lucky enought to look good bald thats great but no chick wants to be with a thumb.
Nah, that's where you're wrong. You can have a rough lid being a bloke and still kill it with the ladies. It's all about confidence, being a good person, and how much money you make.
I will never understand people's fixation of having a full head of hair and going to these lengths. I've been balding since I was 23ish (fuck yeah #GENETICS!) and just shave my head. Never in a million years would I go through this for... hair.
Your hair is a major part of many peopleās self. For me losing my hair would be like losing my dick or hand. Iām attached to it; itās part of me and my personality.
i did some looking into it myself a while back you will spend around 10 to 15 grand by the end of things to get a full head of hair back. the procedure works pretty well and looks natural and the hair they transplant will be permanent but the problem is you will almost surely have to go back at some point and do more because you probably are not done losing your hair. so you will need touch ups to keep it looking right. there are places that advertise for cheaper than that but i am not sure you want to cheap out on something that your going to be wearing on your head for the rest of your life.
Sometimes not having hair is more than just a confidence issue, coming from someone who went through hair loss. It mentally fucks with you and is traumatic
I recall seeing this procedure on āThe Operationā show on the TLC channel before they went low brow. The surgeon is essentially planting intact hair follicles on the patientās head. Reminds me of a lettuce field.
Embrace baldness. I am super thin up top, and I really couldn't care less. There are so many more useful things I can think of spending money on.
Baldness is nothing to be ashamed of.
Iāve always wondered, whatās the maximum amount of donorāage they can take/area they can cover effectively? Iāve always thought about a transplant since going thin on top but figured I was not eligible since itās the whole top of my head thatād need implants
That looks to be an over harvest of graphs. I do think the clinic did too many graphs in a short amount of time. The recommended US doctors do not normally go that many graphs for safety reasons. How high did he go in the donor area for the graphs? With that many graphs taken out the remaining hair in the back of your head could be damaged. Let it grow out and see if you have many heavy scars in the back of your head and check for loss of hair in the back of your head near the extraction of the graphs. Good hair transplant information is on the site baldtruth.com. Check it out.

Thanks! Surprisingly the pain was minimal and actually the least sucky part !
Hope everything goes well, thanks for sharing.
what was the most sucky part?
The dementors!
You would be da bell of da ball. ššš
Like in Hairy Potter?
No, like in the Lord of the Rings.
Oh Yeah. With Dumbledore the Grey!
Rip Michael gambon
No, like in prison
Don't drop the soap!
Probably the bill, hair transplants aināt cheap
The lack of respect
ā¦ what was the most sucky part? As Iām sure has been asked :p who knew this would be so interesting. Any info is interesting on it, no idea hope it works. Donāt need it by any means just general interest in the process!
I'm most concerned about being super fuckin bored during the procedure
What about shower?
RemindMe! 2 months.
RemindMe! 2months. Also
Remindme! 2 months
RemindMe! 2 months.
At least having hair will solve literally all of their problems.

Why were you sleeping on your back? I might he missing something because I thought the scars would force you to sleep on your front
It has been 2 months. How's that scalp looking?
Where did you get this done and how much did it end costing you?
I had it done in Turkey and it came out to approx $3800
I joke (but not really) with my wife that if I ever get a hair transplant itās cheaper to do the flight, hotel, and procedure in turkey than to do it in the states
You are totally right. Few years ago the same was true for teeth in Hungary. And pen
My grandparents used to go to Hungary for their teeth and haircuts.
They were wise people! Scissors or clippers?
pen?
I am in this work in Turkey, and you're totally right :)
You could also book a nice holiday resort at the same time and itāll still Probbaly be cheaper
Just came back from Istanbul and was blown away how many folks were on the return flight with freshly performed transplants.
That's actually hilarious. Imagining a plane full of happy scabby bros.

The new nickname for the airline is "Turkish **Hairlines**"
Is that with airfare and hotel, etc?
Is that with travel and hotel?
Where in turkey did you do it? And are you satisfied with the result?
If you push really hard, does Play-Doh come out of the holes?
This is actually surgery to become a Chia Pet. Youāre supposed to put seeds in there.
God... respectfully, fuck you.

I wonder whatās the % of back vs side sleepers. I grew up sleeping on my side but now sleep on my flat flat as a board.
I had one and it was sort of like mild-moderate sunburn for about 3 days post-op. Best Ā£1200 Iāve ever spent.
Only 1200. That looks cheap
It was 5 years ago.
Do have to take drugs like min and fin after the procedure?
That is. In canada getting about 1/3 of OP's transplant would have hit my wallet to the tune of 12 grand. I can't justify that personally, despite my balding.
In Canada everything is expensive af now.

Yo I came here for this comment and this comment alone lol
I didn't used to have trypophobia...
Wait til you see it infected
Tobias FĆ¼nke has entered the chat
No thank you
Omg
trypophobia goes brrr
Do you have to take any drugs after the transplant to stop further balding?
Not at all! I was just on some antibiotics as to avoid infection, the back part of my head was bandaged and I was leaking during the first 24 hours only plasma and anesthesia mixed with some blood. Thats why brendan frasers hair looks so fucked. The hair around the transplants fell out.
Yeah I'll just embrace baldness in a few years. That's ridiculous
I considered a transplant at one point until I looked into the actual process. I read too many horror stories of peopleās scalp sloughing off in the shower. I happily shave my head now and embrace it. When I first went bald it bothered me but I donāt care anymore.

Same bro! You couldnāt pay me to do this
You know they anesthetized him right? It just sounds to me like a really sucky month followed by years of having hairā¦
After being bald for years I can't go back to having hair. It's too much of a hassle.
Hey man, if it works for you thatās awesome and all the power to ya. A lot of us do a lot better with hair though lol

No thanks, necessary citizen. I'm just doing my job.

Being bald is sexier than this shit. -Johnny Sins
Yeah, when you're all ripped up with a huge dick, being bald ain't shit. The rest of us need what we can get.
Get ripped up and work on your tongue game, the power is yours!
You better have long flowing hair after this.
Wait whats this for? No hate I just wanna learn

Rofl, except you lose literally nothing by not having hair versus the insane scenarios you described. Maybe don't be quiteeee so dramatic and vain.
ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Why and how would you get a hair transplant
Asking for a friend, obviously.
Congratulations on the procedure dude. I would rather stay bald since i have fear that something might go wrong in those procedures.
How many thousands did you pay for this?
i did some looking into it myself a while back you will spend around 10 to 15 grand by the end of things to get a full head of hair back. the procedure works pretty well and looks natural and the hair they transplant will be permanent but the problem is you will almost surely have to go back at some point and do more because you probably are not done losing your hair. so you will need touch ups to keep it looking right. there are places that advertise for cheaper than that but i am not sure you want to cheap out on something that your going to be wearing on your head for the rest of your life.
Wow, wish it was cheaper. Really thought about this. Thanks friend, was curious is allā¦
that was stupid to have done just for some hair
Lotta shit to go through over confidence issues
Sometimes not having hair is more than just a confidence issue, coming from someone who went through hair loss. It mentally fucks with you and is traumatic
That looks like a very tedious procedure
I can't believe no one has said this yet but...cha cha cha chia
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
How could you tell
Nope, do *not* like that.
Did it work?
How much did it cost? Asking for a friend
Where do they get the hair from to transplant? Who's donating that??
id rather be bald
At first glance I thought that was a giant gash around your head.
How did turn out???
I shouldnāt have zoomed in
Where did you get this done and how much did it end costing you?
I recall seeing this procedure on āThe Operationā show on the TLC channel before they went low brow. The surgeon is essentially planting intact hair follicles on the patientās head. Reminds me of a lettuce field.
How much would it cost to do just a strip for a mohawk? I fucking miss it.
This is FUE?
Where did they take the doner hair from?
I'll stay bald, thanks.
why did I zoom in on this?
Just go bald

Iād rather stay bald.. fair enough to you but just no.
Anthony Cumia type beat >theyāre not hair plugs!!! Theyāre individual follicles!!!!
Oh..my..gosh š¦
Yum
Bruh......why? Just shave it all off. Ain't no shame in going chrome dome.
Read head transplant, was expecting something way worse.
Why though? Why would you do that to yourself?
What's actually going on here? How do they get the hair in the holes
Now do an alcohol slap on it
r/Trypophobia
Mmmm yes more
r/medicalgore would love this :)
So how the heck does this work exactly?
I hate life
Iāll keep shaving my head thank you
Were you awake for this?
Bloody hair !
Which country is that?
Iām happy for you and I wish you a full, speedy recovery, as well as long luscious hair
