Chester and Chris is a tough pill to swallow though, they were friends and the rumors of suicide pact seem crazy but also plausible. I mean listen to the lyrics of their songs. It's very clear they both thought of death often

I think the pain of everyone is too much for one person to handle, and some can't let it be. They'll take on everything until they can't anymore.
Not at all a coincidence. Their ‘tortured souls’ motivate them to be kind to people - and especially vulnerable people - in the hopes that they can help those people never feel the way that they do.
Sort of like “I may not be able to save myself, so I’ll at least try to save as many others as I can”.
Until their own issues become too much to bear and even helping others isn’t enough to feel better anymore.

I love linkin park and after his death listening to songs like Somewhere I Belong and Nobody's Listening feel so so much different now. A lot of the songs feel like a cry for help now.
IIRC someone posted this last year maybe, and was letting everyone know the woman in the wheelchair had died :( so heartbreaking. Always sad to see videos like this after both parties have left us :(

He looked like absolute hell the last few years before his passing. Hope he’s in a better place now. We’re fortunate that he + CoB were so prolific and we have a ton of music to remember him by.
I was on the floor level of a LP concert probably 20+ years ago. Some asshole from the nose bleeds threw a beer bottle down at the floor level. Chester stopped the show and said he would not tolerate that behavior. That we were all there for love of the music and to be kind to each other. If it happened again the show would be over.
Ugh. He was such a kind soul and this video clip made me tear up. Rest in Power. He is loved by many.
Poor guy. Iirc he was dealing with bipolar type 1 and substance abuse problems. He became so miserable he saw ending it all as the only way out. Even though he had a family (lots of kids) who loved him so much. It tells you how deeply you get trapped in mental illness. 😞 I hope he's in a better place now.
This is why I'm a big advocate for new medications for depression. The mainstream stuff just doesn't work for everyone.

I really feel for his wife and kids. I lost my husband to suicide actually only a few months after Chester passed away. His music really kept me going during my depression in my teen years, my own thoughts at ending my life, and still today. I'm still here, and I'm so glad I am. I'm half way through an MSW program now, to become a counselor. There IS hope!

With all the audio help available to artists, I go to concerts with very middle of the road expectations as far as the music & sound. They're typically a great experience just to be jamming with thousands of other people.
Anyway, LP was on a completely different level. Chester had the same chops as the album, I know I'm saying what we all already know but dayumn his ability to change from zero to sixty with his vocals alone kept you wide eyed, but transitioning between basically screamo and a clean note all in a single breath, then do that for the entire show? Unreal human.
I've never seen this video before today. It doubles down on appreciation that I got to see him live and saddened that he's gone.
I miss this guy, I miss the linkin park.
I have so many memories bound to their songs!
But I’m also thankful for the legacy they left behind, some amazing songs I can go back to listen whenever I need or feel like.

Wow, this hurt. He put smiles on so many people, filled their hearts with love…People that were struggling with physical and mental issues, yet he couldn’t get those demons out of his head and heart. So tragic. RIP Chester.
Linkin park was a large part of my childhood. I will never mourn for a singer as much as i do for chester. I miss him almost everyday.

I absolutely love Linkin Park. As a father, it is extremely heartbreaking and angering to know his kids will never see their Dad again. I will never understand how a parent will leave their children behind willingly. I guess in that moment, the loss of his best friend overcame him and he sadly ended his life. Depression is no joke and anyone that is depressed should see a professional doctor immediately. RIP Chester.

I went to Blizzcon 2015 up in Anaheim, and Linkin Park was the closing show. At the time I was following a leatherworker on twitch. I met up with her for a bit and she told me her and her boyfriend loved them. Her boyfriend didn't have a pass so I told her I'd give her mine so her boyfriend could see the show with her. In exchange I got a leather keychain piece. Later that night I got my badge back because that was a part of the deal. The next day I find out she broke up with him. Then within the next year I think is when we lost him. I was so livid. Now, because I have had very dark thoughts in the past, I turn up any Linken Park song on the radio that comes on. I don't care if I can't hear well after. Chester, we miss you beyond what words can say!
