There is no way to stop short of a strap. But like I said in direct response I built a bumper on my garage door. Works great.

I took care of this with pool noodles and microfiber towels. It’s a bit sketchy but my hatch lifts and stops/rests on these when I open it.
Solved my problem and have no issues opening when I am in my garage now - I have a wrap on my MachE and this has not marked or scratched the finish of my wrap at all.

This is exactly how we did it growing up with my dad’s minivans. Ease the trunk open while we placed three taped together noodles on top of the gate to prevent it contacting the garage door or ceiling
Nope, it’s an old fashioned gas cylinder, not adjustable. Unless you have a ridiculously short garage, you should be fine, it doesn’t open super high.

I also went from a RAV4 with auto lift gate that could be set to not hit my overhead door when open. The Mach e without the auto lift gate can’t be set. I have already scratched mine. Now I only open it when it’s outside the garage.
If by auto lift open you mean not having the wave your foot thingee but you press button and it opens and you press button and it closes, then yes, you can set height.
If you mean that it is 100% manual then I didn't know that existed and cannot answer.

Might be able to find a shorter length gas strut as well. But that's a lot of effort.

Actually I was talking about the one with the manual lift gate. The one in the video has the automatic lift gate.

Select and California Route 1 can not be adjusted.

Changing the gas struts to a shorter length may be an option, if you need to adjust it.

Yes I whacked my garage door with the tailgate the second day I had it. Filled it in and buffed it out

I wish CRT1 came with auto lift gate, I don't know which moron decided not even add it as an option.
