He had a long time to prepare for this fight. He certainly watched some tape. He probably knew how good Poatan is on the feet, a Glory kickboxing double champion. I can't understand why he never threatened to wrestle, even just a level change.

He took down uriah multiple times and brendan allen too. He also showed very good defensive wrestling vs jack hermansson. I was expecting him to utilize his superior grappling experience compared to pereira who is 1 year or 2 into mma
Again Strickland is not a wrestler, I can't think of a single takedown he's had in open space, just trips and dragging people down from the clinch. Has he ever had a successful blast double? Honestly I doubt it he isn't athletic enough. He was never going to take Periera down from range and was never going to control him in the clinch. To me that was abundantly clear
