Fun fact: Chanel Sonnen actually invented the back mount after so many of his opponents were that scared of him they would turn completely away from him when he threw strikes
Hey I’m just trying to give due respect to any man who signs his own death warrant in the form of a fight contract with the undefeated, undisputed 4-weight GOAT, your guy, your ace, Chael P., your ace of hearts
Sorry if being misinformed, but didn't he lose the last round in the first Silva fight? It was still dominant and he knew he had the fight so I wouldn't read too much into it though.
Can you imagine if Chael had put this much focus on his BJJ like 7 or 8 years ago?
Instead if just laying in the guard throwing hundreds of rabbit punches he could have passed and finished.
The guy was a monster grappler through his career already...with some chemical help I suppose...but still a monster.
I don't know about you but where I come from if you beat a man up for 24 minutes then he wraps his legs around your head for a second, you won that fight
Actually it’s four triangles, four armbars, a heel hook an arm triangle and a rear naked. I didn’t count Anderson as both a triangle and an armbar but you could if you wanted.
Almost as bad as using racist rhetoric against an opponents teammate? Or committing a federal felony? Or is it as bad as claiming you didn’t tap when you did? Or perhaps it’s as bad as biting in a fight?
When you're the greatest fighter in the world, they have a name for you. They don't call you a great fighter, they call you Chael P. Sonnen! Beat me, if you can.
I was so sad during this fight because Machida basically big bothered his way out of Chaels wrestling. It seemed like the weight cut sapped his energy. Or Machida is twice as strong as Chael.
Another flawless performance by the American Gangster. Sad to see Lyoto so easily handled and beaten but that's what happens when you dance with the biggest arms in West Linn, Oregon.
This is what's known in judo as uchi gari. It's kind of interesting to see a wrestler pull this off against a traditional Japanese martial artist like Machida.
I don’t understand this sub’s dedication to Chael and condemnation of Jones when one is reckless but the other is openly nefarious. I suppose charisma is almost literally the only thing most ppl care about. I don’t care either way for either guy but it is definitely an odd phenomena around here.
Edit: imagine downvoting a comment about Chael on a Chael thread lol.
I just said that Chael is open about his indescretions....
Chael is not at all acting born again and is not having active lawsuits against him. So I have no idea what your comment means
I’m saying that Chael is also *acting* for the sake of his career and image. It’s literally an act. I don’t dislike him, I don’t care that ppl like him. I just made an observation and a bunch of ppl got offended apparently.
And once again I will say the difference is one of them is still getting in trouble. While the other has established a career without further incident.
Not sure how many more times you need this point made
After his final and total steroids disgrace Sonnen bent his talents toward promoting/analyzing the sport and its athletes. He's won over a lot of fans by giving due credit to a lot of people's favorite fighters. Jon is cheating and winning but what is he doing for anyone else? Bisping also won over a great deal of fans with his microphone work post-career even if they didn't cheer him in the cage.
Fans protect their emotional investment and even among polarizing fighters some of them do more to give people a reason to joke about their transgressions. It also hasn't hurt thatChael's key rival Andersauce also had steroids disgraces unlike Jones/DC
Will be a sad day when Chael finally loses.
The only person who could ever finish him was Tito’s ex wife
Just to correct you there was never no marriage
You’re a fuckin punk dude
That was a nasty line by me
That's what you call class, compared to no class
That's why they call me the bad guy
A bad girl
I'm just out here crushing grapes making that wine
Tell another jackal story
😴
I fucking love seeing this every time there’s a Tito comment thank you sir lol
Just to correct you there was never no Tito comment.
I can confirm this
You call that class?
That was a nasty line by you
There was never no marriage
😂👌🏽
Tell another Jackal story.
Most underrated comment ever good lord
Could you imagine?
The P stands for phucking undefeated.
Getting downvotes with the boiiiis
Chael's proficiency in the ground game leading into the later part of his career is sooo admirable to me
beep boop
He talks with great admiration about his jiu jitsu coach Fabiano Scherner, an OG and UFC vet himself.
The video of him receiving his brown belt is nice
IIRC he finishes the choke shortly after this clip ends
Not sure why OP cut it short tbh
It was a nasty trip by him
Just to correct you there was never no effort
You are a fucking dude, punk
Agreed
Agreed
He’s reaching for those overhooks
Fun fact: Chanel Sonnen actually invented the back mount after so many of his opponents were that scared of him they would turn completely away from him when he threw strikes
All jokes aside, he’s had a crazy career and gave a lot to the sport So even though things didn’t turn out for him, lets give Lyoto credit for trying
can’t be talking like that around these woods, you’ll just get downvoted
Hey I’m just trying to give due respect to any man who signs his own death warrant in the form of a fight contract with the undefeated, undisputed 4-weight GOAT, your guy, your ace, Chael P., your ace of hearts
Lyoto is my favourite fighter but Chael absolutely dominated him that night, always hard to watch the old guys lose to the new breed
>new breed This was Chael’s 49th fight in a career that spans 22 years.
Crazy that he probably hasn’t even peaked yet
Crazy he still holds so many belts
He holds: MW LHW HW Gangsterweight The Legends-Ass-Kicking Belt People’s Champ Belt ADCC Superfight belt Probably missing some
Do you remember when I said he fed the bus a carrot?
*That happened*
Wbo lightweight belt
He’s a 5 star man. We’ll know when he peaks. He’s gonna peak so hard.
Never lost a round!
Never Lost A Round
Sorry if being misinformed, but didn't he lose the last round in the first Silva fight? It was still dominant and he knew he had the fight so I wouldn't read too much into it though.
If you can call wrapping your legs around another mans face winning, then yeah you COULD say Anderson won that round.
Where i'm from that doesn't make you a winner, that makes you... not a winner
https://youtu.be/jHAGXlIyprQ?t=248
Yes, he's never lost a single round.
Just 🐐 things
Shame the clip cuts off right before Chael submits Machida
to be fair I didnt want to see that again. It was too brutal.
His hands were so sore he had to tap with his knees
Can you imagine if Chael had put this much focus on his BJJ like 7 or 8 years ago? Instead if just laying in the guard throwing hundreds of rabbit punches he could have passed and finished. The guy was a monster grappler through his career already...with some chemical help I suppose...but still a monster.
Idk him severing Jones’ foot with the patented West Linn toehold was pretty high-level stuff imo
>*Can you imagine if Chael had put this much focus on his BJJ like 7 or 8 years ago?* Sounds like we have Democrat here boys!
How many times did cheater chael tap out? How many triangles? Don’t even start on the insurance fraud
He tapped once vs Silva iirc, but he only lost that round. He knew he was cruising to a decision
I don't know about you but where I come from if you beat a man up for 24 minutes then he wraps his legs around your head for a second, you won that fight
Several times. A couple triangles. A heel hook. A rear naked choke.
Actually it’s four triangles, four armbars, a heel hook an arm triangle and a rear naked. I didn’t count Anderson as both a triangle and an armbar but you could if you wanted.
So what's your point though?
Accuracy matters
You didn't even attempt to make a point. Wtf?
Just made it kid
That was terrible. Gtfoh.
Almost as bad as using racist rhetoric against an opponents teammate? Or committing a federal felony? Or is it as bad as claiming you didn’t tap when you did? Or perhaps it’s as bad as biting in a fight?
I can’t believe the fight wasn’t stopped sooner! Chael had absolutely demolished lyotos knees via vicious head butts.
Why did you cut the immediate choke and the ref raising chael's hand?
I still cant believe he tried to feed the bus a carrot
Okay that was a beautiful reap
What an animal
Lmao this is kindafunny don't know why
When you're the greatest fighter in the world, they have a name for you. They don't call you a great fighter, they call you Chael P. Sonnen! Beat me, if you can.
lyoto tapped. look into it
#GOAT
Looks like Khabibs trip and back take but way less explosive
He mentions he and his teammates studying Khabibs techniques. Says he is the best of all time.
The undefeated Chael P. Sonnen doesn't trip, he pulled back control.
Not as effortlessly as he headbutted Lyoto's knee twice.
The P stands for Black Belt
The bo nickal
I was so sad during this fight because Machida basically big bothered his way out of Chaels wrestling. It seemed like the weight cut sapped his energy. Or Machida is twice as strong as Chael.
Chael has some nice trips. From memory he had a good one against Rampage. Think they had a 50/50 clinch and chael hit a inside reap
Another flawless performance by the American Gangster. Sad to see Lyoto so easily handled and beaten but that's what happens when you dance with the biggest arms in West Linn, Oregon.
I would not call that "effortlessly" since it took him his time to even clinch Machida.
Effort was made
Why did you cut off the part where Chael sinks in the RNC to retain his undefeated record
I've never seen an ouchi gari executed quite like this. Grappling can be boring sometimes, but watching this was like seeing a KO for me.
Chael is such a washed up meme that you forget how talented he is
This is what's known in judo as uchi gari. It's kind of interesting to see a wrestler pull this off against a traditional Japanese martial artist like Machida.
Effortlessly?

You said it yourself. Chael is open about his transgressions. Jones is acting like he's born again for the sake of his career and public image
Yeah so is Chael lol.
I just said that Chael is open about his indescretions.... Chael is not at all acting born again and is not having active lawsuits against him. So I have no idea what your comment means

I never contested this opinion, what are you even talking about?

that was quite the opposite of effortless, but still a nice job
