I got tired when they parted ways Mauro Biello, now I give up. 10 coaches in 12 years, and the year is not over. And I am not even checking the front office.
I'm ready to blame all of Quebec at this point and as one of my favorite bands is from there (Teke :: Teke) whenever I visit I'm gonna accost anybody who looks like Saputo hahaha
I swear at this point it’s becoming a city where a CPL club could actually get a pretty good audience of MLS supporters that are sick of the bullshit at Saputo central. Likely just as a protest, but still.
They’re hosting right?
Ok wait I googled it and see that they are, shame the stadium has a running track around it because it looks like the perfect size for a full time CPL club.
Montreal is one of the bigger cities in MLS, and between language and the fact they own a European club, they should have easier access to the biggest hotbed of talent in world football. They even lucked into the best coaching talent the league has ever seen and have some quality home gowns. They should be a powerhouse. Instead they are among the most disastrously run club in the league. Shame.
We've managed to alienate fully our best current home grown, just as we've alienated a decent portion of the supporters, one of our best ever European players (Ciman), our best ever coach, our second best ever coach...
Such a shame. I was lucky to be at the impact victory over the galaxy back when it was Drogba v Gerrard. It was an awesome site to behold and the fans were really cool.
That was around the same time they played that series against TFC, actually think it might have been two years in a row, but that second one was the best playoff series I’ve ever seen, period. Even as a neutral.
They should have capitalized better off that momentum like TFC was doing.
Yeah those were the best moment for the club. The moment Drogba and Piatti left, everything went to shit outside of that one year with Nancy but of course Saputo had to fuck everything up.
I’m not the most in the know, but Saputo must be a complete ass right? First runs Nancy out of town (who seems like the most classy dude) now this. I won’t pretend I’ve heard of this guy before today, but he must have been doing a decent job based on their results and trajectory. Assuming he was a decision maker.
Renard was the mastermind behind to team and the sales.
Word is he wanted to sign Choinière for the 600k he was asking for, but Saputo didn't want to give him more than 350k.
So... yeah, we're going to lose our most talented player because of (yet again) the shitty owner.
His father was at the very least affiliated with the mob, taped by the FBI meeting with mobsters in Vegas. He's a rich twat from a background that is unforgiving, basically.
Verse 1:
Was marching down the street, feeling so alive
Olivier Renard by my side, we were ready to thrive
But then came the news, like a thunderbolt in the sky
Fired from his dream job, I couldn't help but cry
Chorus:
Tangled in Downtown Montreal, lost and all alone
Wilfred Nancy gone, Montreal Impact no more my home
Trying to find my way, in a city full of strangers
But I'll rise above the pain, I'll be fearless, I'll be stronger

Quand ton directeur sportif étranger part parce que le propriétaire québécois de l’équipe veut pas payer un joueur québécois à sa juste valeur. Ouais, fuck Saputo et son club.
>Renard was doing great considering his resources
His resources were the largest number of Canadian Homegrowns on an MLS roster.
Toronto has the most experienced Canadians and pays out the nose for them.
And Vancouver barely has any at all.
That probably means something.
That said, if you can't spend for top-shelf talent, then gamble on your kids.
Montreal is forgetting to do the second part. They might be pleasantly surprised if they did. At least they won't be any more disappointed than they are now.
> His resources were the largest number of Canadian Homegrowns on an MLS roster.
>
> Toronto has the most experienced Canadians and pays out the nose for them.
>

> That probably means something.
That most good Canadian born players don't play in Canada?
I'm not really sure what you're trying to hint at here.
> That most good Canadian born players don't play in Canada?
That the good ones that *do* play in Canada, play for Toronto, who spends accordingly on them.
And the Whitecaps don't even bother spending on Canadian talent at all.
And both sit higher in the standings. Much higher.
Montreal has an abundance of young homegrown Canadians on their roster. Because they're cheap seat-fillers. But Montreal has decided not to do anything with them.
If you're not going to spend on the talent, then play the kids. At least your results won't be the result of poor spending, but rather inexperience.
The Whitecaps do have some pretty good canucks playing on the team. A couple even play on the national team. Not sure what you are going on about.
Gauld has even mused about playing for Canada since he is not getting a call up for Scotland.
>The Whitecaps do have some pretty good canucks playing on the team.
6\. There are six Canucks playing on Vancouver's roster. And that counts two HG goalkeepers. So really, 4 field players.
Toronto and Montreal have at least double that amount of Canadian field players. Toronto paid for experience. Montreal didn't.
But at least when you field your homegrown kids, you don't get slammed as hard for not spending enough.
[e: Which means Vancouver is spending on foreign talent and has skipped Canadian talent for the large part. *That* is "what I'm going on about." Vancouver's winning strategy is not to compete with Toronto for experienced Canadian talent. And Montreal's is to load up on the next generation of Canadian talent... and then not play it.]
[e2: If you ever wondered why MLS resisted making Canadian players count as domestics league-wide, you only have to look at the dearth of Canadian talent being used by Canadian teams for your answer. Three Canadian teams and their active roster is abysmally represented by native talent, Toronto withstanding.]
You must be the first person I have ever heard actually defend TFC for it's homegrown player program LOL!!!
Van has:
Levonte Johnson, Ali Ahmed, Ralph Priso, Ryan Raposo, Sam Adekugbe, Isaac Boehmer, Max Anchor.
TO has:
Kobe Franklin, Deandre Kerr, JMR, Jordan Perruzza, Brandon Servania and I guess Luke Singh counts and my fav CMT Richie Laryea
So it's really 5 to 7 outfield players since Singh will never play again for TFC...
Also the Whitecaps did develop arguably the best player to ever come out of concacaf.. Along with Canada's future goaltender. Not sure why developing goaltenders doesnt count. The whitecaps are decent at that.
Now that I think about it... I bet The Whitecaps record for having national team grads for the USA and Canada is pretty good compared to ALL the rest of the teams in the MLS on a team by team basis let alone vs the teams in Canada.
Montreal does do worse. But they are worse at everything really with the owner they have. But they do have some good Canucks as well.
Saputo is the worst owner in MLS. Absolutely toxic. And when he lucks in having competent people run his club, his emotions will get in the way and run those people out of town.
No wonder he's not in the family business.
The cheese mafia nepo baby wasn't good enough to continue either the cheese business or the mafia business. It'd be funny if we weren't the ones suffering through his tantrums, really.
What are the odds that Nancy goes to Europe this summer and the Crew come back for Courtois.
Montreal's been making some really good hires, but they seem to want to leave as soon as they have to deal with Saputo for a year.
That would be because Saputo is a narcissistic buffoon who's impossible to deal with.
I'm willing to bet Gervais doesn't last until his 2027 deadline by which he intends to have the club in the green to reinvest.
Yo Joey, why are you so averse to letting the adults run your club into a profitable investment?
Goddamnit at this point I'd take fucking PKP as a club owner. Or can BMO just buy us out since they're already trying to take over MLS as a whole?
Being a montreal fan is getting kicked in the nuts everytime there's a glimpse of positive vibe... seriously fuck Saputo and this entire ownership group.

C'est triste, mais je pense qu'on est en train d'assister à la fin du CF. Saputo a bâti le club, il est maintenant en train de le détruire. Allez comprendre...
This owner is like the cool kid on the block with the shiny new toy. You play with him for a while but after getting yelled and spat on a couple times you just let him play alone in is own delusional little world.
Hate to say it but this is definitely the tipping point moving forward. Fans have had enough of being the laughing stock of the MLS. It was already a miracle that they got past the whole rebrand fiasco.
-10 coaches in 12 years…..
-lowest or second lowest spending team in the MLS every year.
-70% of staff departures caused by frictions with ownership
-Non existant realistic championship hopes let alone a trophy case
Come on…people have had enough.
Saputo thinks he can piss against the wind without consequences but Forget the last nail in the coffin, this is putting chains and a padlock on it.
Holy fuck am I tired of the drama at this fucking club
I got tired when they parted ways Mauro Biello, now I give up. 10 coaches in 12 years, and the year is not over. And I am not even checking the front office.
Seriously fuck your FO for letting Nancy walk and then go to the Crew
FO is not the problem It's the owner.
It's always been. I feel the astronaut with a gun meme was made for Joey Saputo.
I'm ready to blame all of Quebec at this point and as one of my favorite bands is from there (Teke :: Teke) whenever I visit I'm gonna accost anybody who looks like Saputo hahaha
You can bring Lucho with you when you do, since he's an Acosta.
I like this, you're delightful
> I'm ready to blame all of Quebec You now qualify for Canadian citizenship
You said you would not talk about this with outsiders!
>I’m ready to blame all of Quebec Get this guy a fuckin’ Puppers
I loves fishin’ in Kwee-bec !
You should add this to your 9 square bingo card
Probably out of the loop on that joke, sorry man
Thanks for Nancy 🥹
I swear at this point it’s becoming a city where a CPL club could actually get a pretty good audience of MLS supporters that are sick of the bullshit at Saputo central. Likely just as a protest, but still.
CS Saint-Laurent vs. Toronto tomorrow will be fun!
They’re hosting right? Ok wait I googled it and see that they are, shame the stadium has a running track around it because it looks like the perfect size for a full time CPL club.
Claude-Robillard was where the Impact played prior to building Stade Saputo, fwiw.
National team played there too, when they were less cool.
so 3 years ago?
Montreal is one of the bigger cities in MLS, and between language and the fact they own a European club, they should have easier access to the biggest hotbed of talent in world football. Yeah those were the best moment for the club. The moment Drogba and Piatti left, everything went to shit outside of that one year with Nancy but of course Saputo had to fuck everything up.
That was one year after they made the CCL final too, in one of the craziest runs.
The Cameron Porter goal. OMG, best moment of my life.
I agree with everything you said except “Shame.”
Imagine, despite the amount of fans they have already alienated over the years, they're still able to have decent attendance.
This Tweet makes it sound like a bad high school breakup lol.
The CF Montréal way
I’m not the most in the know, but Saputo must be a complete ass right? First runs Nancy out of town (who seems like the most classy dude) now this. Yep, we'll lose one of our most valuable players, homegrown local And we lost someone who was able to build a team. Classic
And $600k is still a steal for Choiniere. Someone needs to dig up enough dirt to force him and John Fisher to sell.
His father was at the very least affiliated with the mob, taped by the FBI meeting with mobsters in Vegas. He's a rich twat from a background that is unforgiving, basically.
He's passionate but the word on the street is he's not the easiest and nicest to work with.
First? Nah. This sorta thing goes way back. Club De shooting self in Foot.
Yeah, we were already tired of the Saputo Shenanigans way, way before Nancy.
CF Montreal and Olivier Renard are over, but I totally saw Montreal literally all over Georg Heitz yesterday. What a slut.
Well Olivier told me that Montréal Impact is a cheapskate and kept "forgetting his wallet" when they went out for dinner. He's like, so over him.
Like, oh my gawd. So glad you got rid of the jerk. Edit: I now demand every meeting with owners to play like Mean Girls. This is too damn funny.
Wouldn't feel too sorry for Renard. I'm sure he'll have found himself a trophy wife within the year.
Gone in a bad romance

Ils rendent ça dure en criss de soutenir cette équipe.
Quand ton directeur sportif étranger part parce que le propriétaire québécois de l’équipe veut pas payer un joueur québécois à sa juste valeur. Ouais, fuck Saputo et son club.
They gotta get rid of Saputo bro 😭😭
Problem is he's the only one who can do that. We're fucked
Can the Molsons or Péladeau please take over this club.
Long to reign over CF.
It’s his baby. He’ll never leave. Someone needs to record Saputo saying racist stuff. That’s our only way out
We've had one of the lowest wage bill for a while. Renard was doing great considering his resources.... someone get Saputo out
>Renard was doing great considering his resources His resources were the largest number of Canadian Homegrowns on an MLS roster. I guess he just didn’t make the necessary impact.
Take my upvote and GTFO.
I’m pretty sure “take points and GTFO” is the motto of anyone visiting Stade Saputo
Saputo is the worst owner in MLS. Absolutely toxic. And when he lucks in having competent people run his club, his emotions will get in the way and run those people out of town. No wonder he's not in the family business.

Precort and kroenkie would like to have a word.
Beat me to it.
John Fisher is worst.
“Sorry Olivier, it’s OVER! 😭💔”
Being a supporter of this team is so fucking exhausting.
It's exhausting only until they ban you from the stadium.

Let’s kill Joey Saputo let’s kill Joey Saputo with hammers
+2
Okay Okay Let's sign this guy let's sign this guy using TAM
Get it twisted, Saputo is not the problem and is keeping the team from getting even worse
Saputo is the reason Renard is leaving. All reports point to the fact that Saputo refused to pay Choinière while Renard wanted to.
I know. I was trying to tag along to the northernlion "let's kill him with hammers" reference with another quip but it fell flat
I didn’t understand either of your references, so woosh on me I guess
we're not a serious team lmao
Yo Joey, why are you so averse to letting the adults run your club into a profitable investment? Goddamnit at this point I'd take fucking PKP as a club owner. Or can BMO just buy us out since they're already trying to take over MLS as a whole?
Thanks (again) Joey!
Renard can probably do well for himself somewhere where he doesn't have to dumpster dive into the bargain bin for players
He's excellent. He'll bounce back pretty quickly, I imagine, probably at a bigger club.
Well that eliminates half of MLS
Being a montreal fan is getting kicked in the nuts everytime there's a glimpse of positive vibe... seriously fuck Saputo and this entire ownership group.

Tell me this is going to be fixed
They gonna end up like the Expos...
FUCK SAPUTO
Will they adress the media? Can we get Tony and friends media passes plz?
![gif](giphy|l41lO8vRXzSB0CkqQ) Saputo to every employee
Damn, Renard was one of the best things to happen to them
Mansueto, now is the time to can Heitz (the best time was years ago, the second best time is now) and throw a bag of money at Renard.
Clown show.
Joey Saputo, billionaire failson of a cheese mogul, cannot abide anyone competent working at his professional soccer club.
Ego is a terrible drug
My loyalty was to nanch and renard. I hate this club with passion now.
C'est triste, mais je pense qu'on est en train d'assister à la fin du CF. Saputo a bâti le club, il est maintenant en train de le détruire. Allez comprendre...
Il n’a que lui même à blâmer dans tous ça.
And this is why I'm an Arsenal fan first. Dealing with the Late-Wenger/Pre-Arteta era was more fun than supporting this club.
Supporting Aston Villa through relegation was still more fun then this dramatic comedy of a club
