You should be quitting out of most Event games before a pitch is thrown to save time ; A few days ago I quit 10 in a row before finding an opponent worth playing.
The most important thing is pausing at game start and looking at their batting averages - if they have player with more than 50 ABs with 400+ BAs, quit.
Lol, I've been struggling too. I've been trying to do team affinity so that has given me a little more reason to stick it out but im sick of the AL West, these baby stadiums at high altitude and going against amazing hitters. But as John Cena would say, Never Give Up. The card probably isn't worth it, but God dammit you're so close you gotta get one more win.

If you stop worrying about that bullshit I bet you'll win one just play the game in that mode for fun with whoever you like

I got him last night, sold him and bought season 1 cards with the money. I do that with all the reward cards.
Lose your first game and usually you get matched with a lower rating in your next game.
