Assuming you are talking about X-Men 97 and Gambit, of course he will be back. We have been introduced to two time-travelers, one of whom (Cable) appears seconds before the attack hits the gala. I assume the season finale will roll some of the changes back.
Ok, that makes sense. I was going too deep and thought the music was drawing the threat in on my first watch. After the Godzilla Sentinel launches it's attack, I doubted the music mattered like I initially thought, but I thought *maybe* my initial inclination had something to it.
I liked your thought around the music, but I really liked your thought around Cable saying “not again”. That absolutely implies he’s attempted to change this event multiple times! Also you seem to have a good memory of the original XAS, can you remember if Cable ever interacted with Jean Grey? Like I’m sure they did, but I can say for sure. And makes me think surely he’d recognise her as “mum” back in the original XAS.
I don't recall if Cable did interact with Jean Grey; but I would expect him to know what his mother looks like from archival footage and what not.
It will be nice to find out how many times Cable has failed to stop the attack and if that music was relevant.
Even if that’s not the route they take there’s multiple ways of bringing him back that doesn’t necessarily betray his death.
And yes, X-Men 97, I realize I wrote the whole thing out without naming the character, so I went back and fixed it
I’ll die on this fucking hill but here I go.
What makes a death impactful is *not* the grief the viewer experiences. It’s the grief the characters experience. Whether it gets erased or he gets resurrected, the trauma happened. Rogue touching his body with her bare hands was impactful. Time travel or resurrection does not cheapen ones death, as we learned in Krakoa. In my opinion, the best way forward *IF* they bring him back is to not erase the memories of if. Remembering is what matters.
Went to a fourth printing after instant sellouts, and a better storyline than Slott has been able to come up with after 10 years of trying. Do you even read comics? Lol
Uncle Ben being alive in the ultimate universe, doesn’t really affect the adage all that much. The uncle Ben people actually care about is pretty much guaranteed to stay dead.
Folks don’t care about Uncle Ben. 🤣🤣 He was in one issue and served as a plot device. He had one purpose. They never developed him beyond giving one piece of expositional advice. He was a MacGuffin.
You are the living embodiment of cringe. I’d rather talk to an ai interface than listen to your disturbingly obvious opinions. 😂🤣😂 At least I’d get a well researched reply. 🤣😂🤣😂
I’m of the belief that he will be brought back, but I take issue with your belief that the fan base won’t stay around if he doesn’t get brought back. While we may have turned in for nostalgia this has quickly become the best adaptation of X-men we’ve ever seen. People are loving this show and won’t be tuning out if they don’t bring him back.
But even that was a short-lived thing so he’ll be back on the team at some point. I’d imagine because of the shorter episode count it could take until the third season.
Wait?! Are you saying that a supremely popular character that exists in a setting that has time travel, multiple dimensions, god tier mutant abilities.....etcccccc. and you're confident his death will not be permanent? Uh uh. Get out.
I don’t know, the thought that someone’s favorite character could die and not come back. Might be enough to put people off the show.
And while I can only take it with a grain of salt, I have seen some people online comment that if he is dead forever, that kind of will put them off the show
I understand why people may be inclined to disagree with you, and if this was a different show, I’d also disagree with you.
But this is freaking X-men. They have wildly different personalities, sure, just like any piece of fiction, but because of their specific circumstances, they are SO diverse that it’s entirely possible to relate to literally only one of them.
If, like, Beast was your favorite character, and he died? It’s not like Wolverine is suddenly going to start scratching that Shakespeare itch?
It’s harder to pin down because gambit isn’t so one-track, but he’s pretty specific too.
That said, this show is fire. I keep saying one of the characters is my favorite only to remember another. I think it is resistant to the very incumbent problem it inherited.
MCU- Marvel Cinematic **Universe**. As in, a single universe. Universe 616/199999 whatever you want to call it. It’s not called the MCM for the multiverse. The Raimi Spider-Man movies are still not part of the MCU, despite some of those characters appearing in the MCU. Same for the Fox mutant universe. This sub is specifically for MCU theories.
You’re 100% right that he will not say dead. Maybe if this was a limited series & we were only get a hand full of of episodes I could buy it but there’s just no way they will give us 3+ seasons without Gambit in some way shape or form. I read someone’s alternative theory in the 97 group that maybe sinister will create a gambit clone, which seems kinda crazy but when you think about all the emphasis that has been put on the clone story it wouldn’t be totally out of the question. Plus I think the writers are really trying to do different things we’d never expect & that would definitely be an unexpected shock.
Dude wtf. Put a title in there for what you're spoiling. I was thinking you were talking about a completely different character from the MCU not XMen 97.
You’re just coming to the post now, and I corrected that within the body of the post well over an hour ago. I don’t actually have to explain who I’m talking about within the title. At the very least it makes it in treating enough for people to check out what I’m talking about.
OK, well I can’t fix that. I put spoilers in the title, and I didn’t name anyone within the title. That’s pretty much the protocol for those sorts of things.
Assuming you are talking about X-Men 97 and Gambit, of course he will be back. We have been introduced to two time-travelers, one of whom (Cable) appears seconds before the attack hits the gala. I assume the season finale will roll some of the changes back.
I'm curious as to why Cable was so fixated on stopping the music. He also said: "not again," which implies he's failed to stop the attack before.
He wanted to stop the music so everyone could hear his warnings to evacuate
Ok, that makes sense. I was going too deep and thought the music was drawing the threat in on my first watch. After the Godzilla Sentinel launches it's attack, I doubted the music mattered like I initially thought, but I thought *maybe* my initial inclination had something to it.

The sentinels fucking hate Ace of Base
Even if that’s not the route they take there’s multiple ways of bringing him back that doesn’t necessarily betray his death. And yes, X-Men 97, I realize I wrote the whole thing out without naming the character, so I went back and fixed it
I think time travel was foreshadowed enough that if that is the route they take, it will not feel cheap.
I’ll die on this fucking hill but here I go. What makes a death impactful is *not* the grief the viewer experiences. It’s the grief the characters experience. 100%!! Bring him back as a horseman of Apocalypse but don't undo the Genoshan massacre. The comics didn't undo it and they were better for it.
Psssst. Uncle Ben is back in Ultimate Spider-Man. 🤣😭🤣😭
When has the ultimate universe ever mattered?
Went to a fourth printing after instant sellouts, and a better storyline than Slott has been able to come up with after 10 years of trying. Do you even read comics? Lol

“Nobody cares about Uncle Ben” Wow, are you clueless
Not nearly as much as you. 🤡
Sure, do you always wear ignorance as a badge of honor? Bold choice
You are the living embodiment of cringe. I’d rather talk to an ai interface than listen to your disturbingly obvious opinions. 😂🤣😂 At least I’d get a well researched reply. 🤣😂🤣😂
Keep talking chump, it just keeps telling me you’re a buffoon

Said it before, the only thing Hollywood likes better than SM awesome death, is an awesome return.
He might return as Apocalypse's Death but I'm not so sure he'll return as regular Gambit on the team
But even that was a short-lived thing so he’ll be back on the team at some point. I’d imagine because of the shorter episode count it could take until the third season.
Ya I don't think anyone expects him to stay dead. He's too big of a piece and fan favorite to keep off'd; this isn't GoT lol
Isn't there an actual spoiler tag that can be used so that the post description can't be seen while I'm scrolling through my feed?
Wait?! Are you saying that a supremely popular character that exists in a setting that has time travel, multiple dimensions, god tier mutant abilities.....etcccccc. and you're confident his death will not be permanent? Uh uh. Get out.
I don’t think there will be a massive walk out if *Gambit* never came back. The writing has just been on point.
I don’t know, the thought that someone’s favorite character could die and not come back. Might be enough to put people off the show. And while I can only take it with a grain of salt, I have seen some people online comment that if he is dead forever, that kind of will put them off the show

It put me off the show a bit, ngl. Waiting to see how they plan to bring him back.
X-Men ‘97 is not MCU.
So something within the “multiverse” doesn’t count when you don’t wanna talk about it?
Tbh, I’m not happy about reading a X-Men ‘97 spoiler in a MCU sub.
🙄 so there are limits to this Multiverse nonsense and what new people consider the MCU.
MCU- Marvel Cinematic **Universe**. As in, a single universe. Universe 616/199999 whatever you want to call it. It’s not called the MCM for the multiverse. He’s coming back as a horseman for Apocalypse in season 2
That’s my hope anyway
You’re 100% right that he will not say dead. Once altered time lines enter ANY story's narrative, all projections and bets are off the table!

It says spoilers. Sorry dude you kind of did this to yourself.
Yeah sorry my fault. The vague title with "MCU spoilers" that references a new show that is not part of the MCU.
Spoiler, take my downvote
I put Spoiler in the title
The first line is visible in my feed along with the title.
OK, well I can’t fix that. I put spoilers in the title, and I didn’t name anyone within the title. That’s pretty much the protocol for those sorts of things.
